Visiting Serenno was an odd experience.

During his time as a diplomat for the Jedi Order he had never been sent here - indeed the Order had gone out of their way to make sure that he never set foot on the planet and for a time he had no idea as to why. Even landing on the planet he was certain that the planet was nothing special. Sure it had a few things in it's history that made it important but these days it wasn't anything to write home about. Who cared in Count Dooku had held a seat of power here when the man had been long, long, dead even before his parents were born?

It was odd that they had done so much to stop him but there was something... off about the place he supposed. Specifically the area he knew as being off was the main palace of the capital city. It had been demolished, rebuilt and given a new title but everyone, local and visitor, knew that it had been the home of Count Dooku. Was it just the history of the place? Was that what was causing the sense of danger he felt in the Force just by stepping foot in it?

He wasn't here as a guest despite his uncle's connections, he was here as many young nobles from Naboo were when they were out visiting the Galaxy; he was out and about sowing his wild oats. It was a good excuse for him to do a lot of travelling without it looking bad to anyone. Instead it was just something that people like he did. It fit even better when one considered he was very publicly an ex-Jedi at this point.

It was totally natural he was doing his best to splash his credits and enjoy life!

... it was a cover that wouldn't stop him from being imprisoned if anyone caught him sneaking down into the basement levels of the old Palace. The foundations and the ruins of the old palace were there and he felt the strangest urge to find them.

The worst about Serenno was the people. Maeve always found them stuck-up and a bit self-centered; anytime she had the unfortunate task of speaking to a Serenno citizen, their noses would turn ever slightly upward as if their disgust were because the rest of the galaxy did not revolve around them. It was because of these traits that Maeve did not care who got in the way of her dagger as she sought through the ancient underground water ways toward the old palace. There were guards that patrolled, usually the ones who drew the short straw, but they were an easy fix as her dagger slipped silently in and out of their flesh.

Gently she would let the body rest in the water as they finished suffocating and choking on their own fluids; many would find it cruel, for the dark woman, it was a necessity.

Supposedly the basement of this palace housed some items that may be of interest to the Sith; it was not surprise that they did not share, it was rather Sith of them to do so. As compliment, Maeve thought it was mighty Sith of her to show Serennoians just how stupid and undeserving they were. Eventually the maze of tunnels lead her to a heavy metal door; her senses stretched forward looking for anything that would be an obstacle before opening it just wide enough for her to enter into the basement.

Finding his way into the basement using some minor illusions and a few mind tricks was rather easy - what was not easy was ignoring the feeling of dread that approached. It felt as though people were dying not too far away from him but he had no idea how far away, if they were dying violently or even if they were people dying at all.

As far as he knew they could even be animals and the Force would still try and alert him.

It was kind of irritating honsetly.

Searching through the basement levels, he reached the lowest part before the underground rivers and streams. The vault was the ruins of the old palace, the palace of Count Dooku. Already he could see things on display that were likely not the kind of thing that most places should have.

He stood in front of what appeared to be a casket but he had read about it. It was one of those caskets developed by the Mandalorians to completely negate the Force... it was broken, but still impressive. He blinked as the large metal door to the side of the room opened from the other side.

The side of the waterways if he was not mistaken.

"Um... I'm totally allowed to be here."
he lied immediately, "You are too, right?"

There certainly was something on the other side and she ready for a quick fit to disable anyone who stood in her way. However, the man before her was not one she expected. In fact, he seemed mildly surprised that someone had entered and now stood in the same room with him. She grasped her dagger tightly, ready to immobilize the bearded hippy, but he spoke, making a comment of enthusiastic sarcasm to being allowed in clearly an area that neither or them were permitted.

Maeve raised her dagger slightly, "And who do you serve?" she sensed his lie, "I would be very careful to how you would answer." she warned. She was not interested in his interference, his intentions would be critical for her decide her next steps. However, she knew it would need to be quick, a mental countdown began, guards that were unable to check in was a dangerous gamble.

The dark side rippled through the room as she used to inspect her surroundings and the man before her.

Well wasn't that a loaded question?

Who did he serve?

The first answer that he wanted to give was, in fact, the answer that he ended up giving. Without even thinking about the question for longer than a second, he was already speaking.

"Myself."
he answered firmly, "I'm not much of a follower."

It had gotten him into trouble when he was a member of the Jedi Order and he knew it would likely get him into trouble should he take leave of his senses and join the Sith Order. Two sides of the same coin really, their end goals might be different but the Orders themselves were so very similar.

All power and glory to those at the top and none for the little cogs that turned and made their Empires and Republics actually worthwhile holding onto.

"I'm here because I want to loot the catacombs of a long dead idiot Sith Lord - what are you here for?"
