Hello there, welcome back to the newsletter! After a brief hiatus, the newsletter is back once again, and there is a lot to go over. So without further ado...

Site Changes & Information

Special Metals, Beskar & You

With the recent influx of Mandalorian members, we wanted to put out a clarifying announcement. Although the rules about the topic were changed some time ago, we don't believe this was ever officially announced and there are still many confusing write-ups out there regarding this topic.

A section was added to the tech rules regarding lightsaber-resistant metals (pure beskar/phrik/chromium/etc.). These metals are capable of blocking a single strike from a lightsaber or fully absorbing a single shot from a blaster. They are only allowed in armor in very limited amounts (1-2 minor pieces, most commonly bracers). Many of you already know this part.

The confusing part comes in that there are many write-ups out there still from before these rules were put into place that reference beskar-alloy, beskar-mesh, beskar-weave, beskar-what-have-you. These are not functionally the same as just "beskar" or (more accurately termed) "pure beskar." I would highly encourage members to avoid using these hybrid words (beskar-alloy, beskar-mesh, beskar-weave, beskar-what-have-you) to avoid confusion. These hybrid words are effectively no different in function than durasteel.

If you have any questions, please ask so in this thread.

The Wikia

Hello everyone.

All members are now able to create and edit new wiki pages. In order to create a page click on the arrow beside the Databank button and select "Create Page" from the drop-down menu.

There are several templates (templates are similar to bbcode, but created for the wiki pages only) to play with and learn how to use. This means you must wrap your work with these templates if you want to use them, just like you do with bbcodes. See them listed below:

More might be added in the future.

All core wiki pages (main factions, important information, the map, etc) cannot be edited by members without permission being granted. In order to get permission to edit a core wiki page, post in the Core Wiki Page Access Request thread with the correct form filled out.

Members do NOT need permission from staff to post brand new wiki pages. Questions about the wiki pages, permissions, issues, encountered errors, etc, can be posted here.

General Time Update
  • It is now 113 years after the Battle of Exegol, we are in 148 ABY (After Battle of Yavin).
Please be aware that in general time is fluid on SWRP.

Mandalorians Rising

It has been centuries that the Mandalorians have been stuck in their own space, sulking in the sands of their dead world Mandalore. There have been many moots to try and give the once-proud people a purpose and leadership they need to get them out of the rut they are, but all of them turned up fruitless.

Until now - one day a fleet of Sith ships came to Mandalore, Darth Raze gave the Mandalorian people choices, for one to collaborate with the Sith, for @Darth Raze to challenge their best to a duel for supremacy over the Mandalorian people, or for the Mandalorians to do nothing and to continue rotting away.

Of all the Mandalorians who congregated, one man stood up to the plate, giving a speech that would inspire the Mandalorian people to take this path to power and glory with the war machines the Sith would give them. @Fenyang had the backing of the majority in attendance to become Mand’alor, and others were shot or fled. And so he did, Fenyang was the first Mand’alor in over a century.

And with that, the Mandalorians marched off to crusade once more, the first target in the Mand’alor’s eyes: Lothal

*Reminder: Knowledge that the Sith have provided ships, weapons, equipment, .etc and are in league with the Mandalorians isn’t known to the public.

Battles, Battles, and more Battles

The war is intensifying once more, the crusading Mandalorians have launched an invasion of Lothal, the first target of the newly invigorated Mandalorians. Before the battle some time ago, Lothal has increased its defenses, so the invaders wouldn’t be picking on an easy target. After executing a woman in cold blood in order to encourage the planet to surrender and that not working out the Mand’alor himself along with a crack team consisting of @Gett'se Vizsla @Nox Solus @Arthos Vizsla and @Rayyan Kryze squares off against the defenders consisting of Jedi such as @Zerath Eblon @Gabriel Morales @Laeonas Tannaras, the Sector Ranger Bak-Ru Shooska and then the Senator of Lothal @Cal Starros himself, battling for the city.

As of now, only Laeonas Tannaras remains standing, against the rest of the Mandalorians.

And another Mandalorian assault spearheaded by @Thane Verran and @Kerr Saxon fights Jedi forces lead by Jedi Knights @Vaselsk Thawn and @Felix who are battling for the Jedi Temple. With one Jedi Knight down, the Mandalorians have the advantage…

Else where...

The shadows seemed to twist in her presence, moving against the natural ebb and flow of the rippling Force, tearing into it like an incontrollable decay. Heavy was the dark side and it would be her strength to let it feed on whatever it desired here. The saber was grasped by blackened fingers, her dark robes seemed to effortlessly blend into the shadow that followed at her feet. Upon the temple, the red eyes of the mask gazed and underneath a smile as she spoke to her companions.

"Today, we feast. Too long have they starved us..."

Said the Eternal, as a Sith fleet descended on the Yavin’s fourth moon. With @The Eternal it notably brought Sith warriors @Bir Vuul and @Aziz with it. But the Jedi were very well entrenched on the moon, and spend a considerable amount of time building up their defenses to ensure Ajan Kloss doesn’t happen again, the defense is led by Grandmaster @Alexandria Voran, the liberator of worlds @Sevrin Valtiere and @Crix Aran

In the end, the Sith forces were routed, Aziz was killed, and the Eternal was unmasked by the Jedi, leveaing Tiamat to them.

Meanwhile...

The Sith have launched another invasion, targeting the Free Worlds’ Ithor with @Darth Draugr leading it, bringing along notable Sith such as @Soleil Altan and @Anai Skhess. Draugar had a recent setback on Denon but still is looking to make another successful invasion as with Dantooine and Wayland before this one. Jedi defenders @Tiberius Fenric @Caris Orlan and @Vren Mallick would put themselves in the way in defense. It’s anyone’s game who will win now.

The AMS pandemic continues to decrease in threat more and more ever since the vaccine has been created and spread across the galaxy. There are sharp decreases on many worlds, even the hotspots. Despite the relief and clean-up efforts, there are still advisories and messages of caution for going to hotspot worlds.

The galaxy is recovering from the pandemic, there are no worries, restrictions are easing up, and things have been progressing towards the old normal. Experts believe that AMS will be eradicated in the short future, with only hold-outs here and there.

Reminder: These hotspots are not the only traces of AMS in the galaxy but are the most notable ones. This is a reminder that AMS has spread through most of the galaxy from the Outer Rim to the Core Worlds.

The Jedi

Denon has been liberated from the clutches of the Sith. It was a good victory, another attempt to retake the planet was stopped, but the world that was under the glove of the Sith is now free once again. The person spearheading it was Jedi Master @Sevrin Valtiere, who is becoming widely known as a liberator of worlds.

Despite that, the Jedi find themselves pressed with defending themselves and others from either Sith or Mandalorians at Yavin IV, Ithor, and Lothal, staying the momentum gained at Denon. Will the Sith war machine let up and give them some reprieve, or will the Sith continue to keep pushing the Jedi on the defensive?

The Senator of Kashyyyk, @Aezzairrfhowrrhudrrl has offered a haven for the Jedi on their world. A natural choice due to the historical ties between the Wookies and the Jedi. But for it to be a good enough haven, the Jedi are set out to work to make it a safe place.

The Sith

The Sith

The Empress @Darth Andruil held a council meeting, talking about the ineffectiveness of the Imperial Council. There were some sharp replies from @Darth Caelestis, but unknown to him and the others, the Empress decided she wanted to do some spring cleaning, starting with the council. The purge of the Imperial Council began. Darth Raze had a gritty fight with @Darth Stolas in which the latter was killed. The Empress had a gritty and emotional duel with Darth Caelestis, but the Empress' arcane magick and skill with the blade proved too much. In the end, the purge of the council is complete.

With that done, she made holonet address. In the address, she declared that Stolas and Caelestis were traitors and were executed, and appointed a new Imperial Council, and @Darth Raze was declared the new Dark Lord of the Sith.

The Empire is growing in size, not just territory but the number of subjects as well. Not all subjects are as loyal to the empire as either. As the ISB are launching operations to quell some dissent in the Empire, and silence people who dare cross the Empress, forever.

The Empire is still keeping going their expansion game, besetting Ord Radama this time, a world that has ties to the Sith in old times, intending to reignite the ties and bring its economic and historical assets under the Sith.

One Sith Champion has gained a powerful position, as @Charlotte Le'Anna, after going through great lengths of planning with others and careful execution of the plan, has killed the Queen-Mother of the Hapes Consortium. And with having clawed herself into a direct line of succession as the heir to the throne, now sits on the throne of the Fountain Palace herself as the new Queen Mother.

The Five Syndicates

Five Syndicates

records.gif
The Five Syndicates have been up to trouble, not just any trouble but big trouble, Zaa Fenn put themselves as public enemy number one, more so the powerhouse behind the Crymorah Syndicate Zaa Fenn. How? After going through Mon Cala's defenses (@Fine Dining Set); @Gareth Gin, @Darius Gal, and @Edin Frost unleashed a terrorist attack, polluting Mon Cala's waters. Why? Because Mon Cala took a stand against the Five Syndicates and that is the price they paid for it. It made the news that caused the planet to leave the Free Worlds and isolated it for a time. The orchestrator of these attacks made a statement of their own.

The Zaa Fenn have drawn widespread condemnation and rebuke from the Galactic Community. Others declared their support for Mon Cala even including the Sith.

The Mandalorians

Not all Mandalorians were too happy with the Mand'alor's decision to ally with the Sith. The @Kotii Solus response to the Sith coming to Mandalore was not well-received with neither the vast majority of his clan-mates nor most Mandalorians. With others decrying him a coward and his response to Darth Raze's arrival could have been viewed as antagonizing him. Kotii Solus held another moot consisting of Mandalorians who did not agree with the Mand'alor. There is talk of a Mandalorian Civil War brewing.

And there is already some fighting between the Loyalists and the Nonloyalists. A pair of non-loyalists attempted to send a message by stealing some assets on Concord Dawn, but the loyalist @Beau got creative, blowing up some volatile containers they were trying to steal, knocking out one of them, and routing the other. A victory for the Loyalists over what they deem 'traitors' and 'dar'manda'

Aside from that, the Mand'alor made a call to prioritize the re-industrialization of the Mandalorians people. After all, hard to wage a crusade without an industrial base, and thus the Mandalorian leader has dispatched Mandalorians across the galaxy in an effort to reignite the engines of war.
Galactic Senate

The Galactic Community

The Supreme Chancellor of the Republic Emil Ro was assassinated. It is unknown to the galaxy who the assailant is and there is an investigation underway, but still many people in the galaxy including those from other governments gave their condolences or left a reaction otherwise.

Unfortunately, that is not the end of the New Republic's troubles, as a large number of systems in Republic space have shifted themselves to the Independent Systems Consortium. The ISC gains even more power and prestige as even the Core Worlds have flocked to it in droves. Experts believe that at this rate even Courscant will join the ISC in the next few years.

In addition to the acquisition of some of the valuable Core Worlds, the ISC now has a new friend in Mon Cala, whose king declared the famed ocean shipyard world will join the growing body, defecting from the Free Worlds.

It seems that the Mandalorian attack on Lothal has spurred the FWA into having conversations about their military, or rather the lack thereof. There the Prime Minister @Korre Belasi seeks to remedy that, although there are some obstacles that stand in the way, such as the nature of the FWA's non-centralized organization. Will the FWA be able to muster up a worthwhile force? It remains to be seen.
