Eileen pulling Kori's spare saber in addition to her own caught the Zeltron by surprise. Especially after it was looking up to be a 2 on 2 match. Fighting against an opponent wielding 2 blades would prove... problematic. Even though Kori's credits were on her Padawan teammate, and not on Kegari, who was still an initiate. But then something unexpected happened: the Padawan refused Eileen's lightsaber. A perfect opportunity for a comeback!

"It's ok, go grab your gauntlets and hurry. I'll try to hold them off in the meantime.... And I'll hold on to this," a smirk crossed the Zeltron's lips as her right hand let go of her own saber. An invisible grip took hold of the curved hilt from Byron's hand, intent on floating it straight into Kori's grasp. Ensuring that the training switch was in the right position, Kori would ignite the green blade and angled it up, in front of her face. Then she'd move the hand to the right, pointing the blade at the ground at 45 degrees, in a mock Makashi salute. The blue saber in the left hand would now be angled forward and diagonally, as the Zeltron would moved her left foot slightly forward.

"The two of you will most likely beat me," Kori looked at her fellow Knight as she said that. "But I'm curious how long I can stay alive."

Eileen’s eyebrow raised and then furrowed for a moment. Kegari would learn how lightsabers worked by observing the two Knights, it seemed, and Eileen would have an opportunity to perhaps fight against Matukai teachings.

“Go for it. Never fought against that martial art before. Should be interesting.”

Eileen’s eyes rested on Nykoria’s for a moment as she said her last words. Her face didn’t change expression, but the Knight was impressed when the saber flew from her offering as well.

Intent to take them both on at once? Eileen remembered the stories of her ancestors, who had so brazenly challenged many foes, their bloodline nearly wiped out as a result. This would be both duel and demonstration, then.

Eileen opened without leaving anything to chance. Tallis’ lightsaber flung from her hand, arcing horizontally towards the Knight’s chest, gripped by the Force. Concurrently, Eileen closed the distance by flanking to Tallis’ right, keeping her sword raised in her left hand to riposte any returning attacks.
I realize that even mock PvP can be stressful, but this is 100% meant for the newer players who haven’t experienced that kind of intensity on the site. This was once commonplace and even required for story progression - but as usual, all lightsaber will default to training settings and no wounding blows will be dealt unless requested or agreed upon :)

Kegari focused her attention to the two Jedi Knights as they wielded their lightsabers. All while she held a training saber in her hand. She didn’t know when she was up so she extinguished it just to stay on the safe side.

She watched intently as they “fought” each other. Although she’s never really trained in the martial arts before Kegari could understand that most of their movements were based more on defense rather than attack mechanisms. She knew fighting wasn’t in the Jedi way but never did it say that Jedi weren’t allowed to defend themselves.

“Impressive”. Was all that could come out of Kegari’s mouth. Although she had to get ready as her turn would be coming up soon. She knows that Eileen would most likely not go easy on her despite being an initiate. Besides, if she were to become a Padawan at some point she would best get started on training now. After all, if this were to be a real situation where she would be fighting an opponent they wouldn’t go easy either.

What have I done? Nykoria regretted the decision to fight two people at once mere moments after the words had left her mouth. She didn't know how good Eileen was; not to mention that Kegari could tip the scales further, even untrained. Yet the Pantoran didn't lunge at Kori with her lightsaber, remaining where she was. Relieved slightly, the Zeltron had to stay on her heels. Jar'Kai versus Jar'Kai it is.

With a motion of her left hand, Nykoria had her blue blade deflect her own spare saber being thrown at her. She added extra power to that motion, aiming to knock the saber out of Eileen's telekinetic grasp and send it flying forward and to the right, onto the ground. After that, she'd turn slightly to the right, to face the approaching opponent. The green blade was raised, pretty much mirroring Eileen's stance.

The blue blade still in the left hand, Kori would attack with the green one in the right instead—going for a diagonal slash downwards before Eileen would get too close. At this distance, if the strike were to connect, it'd be a shallow cut from Eileen's right shoulder towards the lowest left rib. But of course, at training settings Eileen and Kori were only risking some light burns at worst.

I know it's not my turn yet, but I figured it'd make sense for Kori and Eileen to spar a little while Byron is off to fetch his gauntlets, and Kegari is watching. That way, the situation will develop more naturally when Byron returns.

Eileen’s eyes thinned as Nykoria decided to strike at her own saber with an intense amount of force, likely meant to send the weapon sprawling across the battlefield. The Vahla simply let it go, instead redirecting her efforts into focusing on her opponent’s center mass.

As Nykoria turned to her right to match Eileen and threw a slash, the Vahla stepped back and to the right, parrying the green blade downwards, before throwing a stab.

Simultaneously, Eileen unleashed a blast of kinetic energy from her right hand, aimed at her opponent’s chest, to wind her or knock her to the ground.

At this range, the force blast would be difficult to avoid, and with an incoming stab, Tallis would have choices to make.

Before the blades clashed, the two Jedi were facing each other. But then the opponent stepped back and to the right (Kori's left) and parried the green blade downwards. That moment when the blades first touched was when Kori made her next move.

Eileen's step to Kori's left made her easier to reach with the second saber. The Zeltron's left hand made a quick lunge forward, aiming the blade at Eileen's lower right abdomen. At the same time, Kori hit the switch; the blue blade of her dual-phase saber lengthened mid-lunge, meaning that Eileen would have even less time to react to the attack. Try parrying that now!

Under these circumstances, if Eileen were to proceed with her post-parry stab, she probably would get stabbed first. Still, if that was the case, the Zeltron would hit Eileen's blade from below. She'd flick her right wrist to try and utilize the curved hilt of the green lightsaber. The goal was to redirect the opponent's blade from the chest at least to the right shoulder.

Sorry, going for a little interrupt here!
Hope I'm doing it right. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Eileen continued her block as intended, instead of striking the first blow downwards into a parry, she instead kept her guard up, disregarding a riposte.

You overextended...

Now, Nykoria would be turning their chest and abdomen to the left in order to rotate her body correctly to get a stab in - even with the dual-phase extension. With her opponent’s first lightsaber already accounted for, all Eileen did was hold her guard, catching both stab and slash with her true edge and cross-guard. Eileen’s sword’s blade would catch both blows on the outside of her defensive stance.

Now, once again in close proximity (all blades locked) Eileen continued with her simultaneous Force Push to the chest as Tallis countered. This time, however, the Vahla threw as much kinetic impact into the push as she could muster, meaning to send her opponent flying instead of just winding them.

...letting your offense become my defense.

Under usual circumstances, using both weapons in a staggered pattern was Jar’kai’s forté. However, Eileen was well versed in blade on blade combat. If Nykoria had kept her blue saber at a regular length, her blades would have been able to freely travel around one another. But since her first weapon was already outstretched, all the Vahla had to do was move both her sword’s blade (and the green lightsaber’s blade) to intercept the attack.

Her lightsabers would lock into each other, as well as the sword, making it difficult to counter when your opponent controls both your weapons. Since saber blades couldn’t slide against each other, Tallis would have to find a way to disengage.

At essentially point blank range, the kinetic push would be devastating. If Tallis had allowed Eileen to take some distance, the impact wouldn’t have been nearly as intense, but given the close proximity and growing danger Eileen saw no point in holding punches.

Good interrupt. Since it’s Open, there is no post order anyhow :) @Thluna @Catbert @Darasuum

Eileen held her sword in the right hand, while Kori's green blade was headed diagonally from Eileen's right shoulder to the left rib. At the same time, the blue blade headed straight towards Eileen's abdomen for a puncture. To defend herself, Eileen went for redirecting Kori's green blade into her blue one, and away from her torso.

Both Jedi held the blades in one hand. If Eileen were to succeed with her defense, she'd have to commit to it: hit fast (to redirect the green blade in time) and hard (to eventually overpower both hands of the Zeltron). Otherwise, the blue blade would stab the Vahla before she'd be able to throw a Force Push.

Realizing that her right hand was being overpowered, and the green blade heading towards the blue one, the Zeltron would change tactics. She remembered Eileen's own words: "You can also adjust the blade length with the dial." Good suggestion! Instead of engaging the blue blade's dual-phase mode, Kori tuned up the dial on Eileen's green one. If the green blade were to extend now, while being locked with the metallic sword, it would slash Eileen upper left abdomen. That is, unless Eileen commited all her strength and swiftness to redirecting it.

As for the blue blade, the Zeltron chose another approach. She saw the green lightsaber coming for her blue one, overcome by Eileen's power. So instead, Kori would extinguish the blue saber, to reignite it almost immediately, once the blades moved past the lock point. That move would serve two purposes: prevent the bladelock and use the momentum of Eileen's blade against her dfense. With that done, the green blade would be pointed downwards in a block, while being locked with Eileen's metallic one.

Meanwhile, the reignited blue blade would be above Eileen's metallic saber, but wouldn't reach the Vahla's abdomen it time. Especially since the Zeltron would see a hand being extended for a Force Push. So instead she'd go for a slicing motion upwards. Even if the Vahla's Force Push came first, the Zeltron would flail the blade, and the hit would very likely still connect.

In real combat, that move would cut it Eileen's hand off at the wrist and settled the matter. However, in training the worst things that could happen would be light burns. Because of that, Kori could only hope to diminish the power of Eileen's force push, but not prevent it entirely. It would be strong and unexpected enough to send the Zeltron flying several meters away. Lighsabers would disengage mid-flight.

Kori would fall on her back, immediately rolling to the right and trying to stand up on one knee and face a follow-up attack. However, if things were to unfold like that, that attack would be unlikely.

Sorry, more interrupts. Hopefully, they're reasonable again. 8-)

Kegari watched as both Eileen and Kori both practice dueled and contemplated whether to jump in or wait her turn. It would be a matter of time until she had to actually fight so she may as well get it done. She had to train someway or another and this practice was the perfect opportunity.

“Let the Force guide your way” Kegari heard the voices in her head as she gripped the training saber in her hand and ignited it. A glowing blue blade emerged from the hilt as she slowly began Shii-Cho movements one of the first lightsaber combat forms she learned since her time on Ajan Kloss. Although she didn’t go after anyone, she thought it was best to warm up just in case something happened and she had to think quick at a moments notice.

Eileen never needed to extend her right hand to throw the push, it was already open and free - with her concentration focused on Tallis’s center mass. A bonus of Niman’s style.

The push would also hit at the same time the blue saber would deactivate, having been thrown simultaneously with the held block.

Assuming the blue saber reactivated and sliced upwards, Eileen would simply use the added distance and moment available to shift her guard. It took little effort to adjust against a flailing, flying opponent.

I am not so easily injured.

Unfortunately, even if she had been wounded, her opponent would never have the opportunity to reach the ground.

Eileen seized Nykoria’s chest with the Force midair, abruptly pulling her back towards the ground. Eileen then proceeded to hurl her sword at the incoming Jedi, dashing forward seemingly unarmed.
Ah, the interrupt. My oldest enemy. I object with my own!

should clarify - since it’s in interrupt time - that push was technically supposed to go off at the same time as Eileen blocked your first slash, into a stab. She never stabbed, but the push still would happen concurrently. @Thluna @Darasuum @Catbert

Kori could swear that one of her blades hit home. Then again, it could also be adrenaline from the fight that made her think that way. Especially considering what happened next. Kriff! That was all that the Zeltron could think after being sent off with a Force Push. Then the flight abruptly stopped, and Kori's back hit the ground... violently, as if beating the air out of her lungs.

The Zeltron was lucky to hold on to the hilts in her hands and extinguish the blades mid-air. She remained true to the teachings of her master. This weapon is the difference between like and death, Nykoria!

Yet even after landing, Kori's senses nudged her to keep the guard up. Reigniting her blue blade while still on the ground, she would slash at the incoming sword horizontally, knocking it away to the left, much like her own blue lightsaber that Eileen had thrown at her a few moments ago. Speaking of Eileen, there she was, rushing towards the knocked-down Zeltron. Without a weapon, no less.

Something told Nykoria that the Vahla was about to summon one of the blades lying on the ground. Instead of jumping up, Kori would remain on the ground, ignite Eileen's green saber and hurl it her in a swirling manner, guiding the hilt with the Force. The blade would be angled diagonally, to make jumping over it or sliding under it harder. With the blade still at maximum length, even going around it would be problematic.

The Zeltron still held her own blue saber in the right hand, prepared to counter Eileen's next move. If Eileen were to go for a full-on dodge, Nykoria would use that time to spring back up.

The way I see it, Eileen would take some damage in this encounter. There are 2 scenarios for damage she could take (excluding one almost certainly causes the other):

- Green blade, upper abdomen slash — Eileen is redirecting Kori's green blade towards the blue one. During this, it would point towards Eileen's body, and the blade would extend further. The only way to avoid it is hit very hard and fast. Otherwise, Kori wouldn't need to extinguish her saber in the first place, and would just go for the stab with the extra-long blue blade.

- Blue blade, right wrist slash — Eileen commits to the defense and redirects the green blade faster. In this case, the momentum would prevent her from blocking Kori's blue blade properly. It would also give Kori more time to slash (since she'd reignite the blade sooner).

Even with the damage taken by Eileen, Kori would still be caught off guard by the Force push, so that part plays out all the same. It's up to you how to play this though, so I'm not setting things in stone ;-)

Byron trotted off to his ship but didn't sprint. He didn't want to be winded and utterly make a fool of himself when it came to the actual sparing. After a moment of searching he found the gauntlets and headed back to the area where the other jedi were having their sparing match. Even before he arrived he could hear the sounds of the fight. Some people looked in the direction of the sounds with concern and curiousity but knew the area was used for sparing. It just seemed like they were being the equivelant of gym rats that grunted with each lift.

"Alright I got my-" He stopped short, seeing the violence they were causing against one another. Both of Byron's fists clenched. His neck cracked and he reached both gauntlet clad hands out before him. That was another reason why he liked the gauntlets, he didn't have to worry about his hands being full.

Kegari stood off to one side with her training saber ignited. His knuckles clacked together causing a shimmer of electrical sparks shoot from the impact. "Come on Kegari. Show me what you've got." He said as he walked out into the more open area to face the pantoran while the other two clashed. Byron kept Nykoria and Eileen in his view. "So is this two separate one on one matches or is this a two on two team sparing match?" He wanted to be clear, his front foot sliding forward with both palms open and facing one another in a ready hand to hand stance.

Kegari stood and stopped for a moment as she heard Byron approach her. She was warming up, but somehow she wasn’t entirely comfortable with the fact of fighting. She had to defend herself but this was one of the reasons why she needed fighting skills. To defend oneself and her comrades.

"Come on Kegari. Show me what you've got." She heard Byron challenge her to a “fight”. She readied herself and sighed. “Okay here goes nothing”. Kegari replies as she stood in Soresu stance and prepared to take on Byron’s gauntlets.

"So is this two separate one on one matches or is this a two on two team sparing match?" Byron asked. Kegari wasn’t sure herself either. But she assumes since Kori was with Eileen then that only left her with Byron. “I suppose we are going to do this one on one”. Kegari replies and prepared herself to a practice fight.

A miscalculation, one that could have cost her a hand. The saber managed to dip past her guard and sliced her right wrist.

There wasn’t much she could’ve done against such a risky gamble. But this wasn’t over.

As Nykoria rose, Eileen focused the Force on the Jedi’s chest to abruptly pull her towards the incoming weapon - but paused. Hesitated.

Eileen knew If she used the Force to harm Tallis, not only would she be hurting a fellow Knight during what should be a sparring session - she’d also break a tenant of the Jedi Code. She’d technically already done so by offensively slamming the Pantoran to the ground.

“Good hit. That’s the match.”

It had strayed significantly from its original purpose, no thanks to Eileen’s own actions. She got carried away, in an attempt to test her telekinetic abilities. The risk of corruption was too great to try something so direct again. If the saber was still careening towards her, she’d simply use the Force to catch it.
So, unfort. for me, technically both my characters hand has been severed, and in an actual PvP Eileen would be impaled on the end of the saber.
An auto hit, as I did not reply in the PvP timeframe slotted. I’m sorry for that, IRL got in the way, but it’s regardless a good reminder that that can and will happen sometimes :)

With Eileen catching her own curved hilt, the match was concluded. The outcome was... two-fold. Although Kori had managed to land a blow with the saber, she couldn't but feel it was a pyrrhic victory. Especially after being ragdolled with the Force like that. She hadn't been prepared for it; and even scoring a single saber hit on Eileen had taken everything that the Zeltron had in stock.

Extinguishing her blue blade, she reached with her hand for the other one, that Eileen had thrown at her at the beginning of the duel. After clipping both her sabers to the belt, the Zeltron arched her back, trying to figure out just how hard she had hit the ground. It didn't seem like the damage was too serious, let alone permanent.

"That's some good show of Force," Nykoria commended her opponent in return, while dusting down her clothes. "Caught me almost completely off guard. I'd go as far as to call it a draw." If the Zeltron hadn't thought on her feet, she would've taken a hit with the Force. And it had been a Sith she was dealing with, it probably would've been lightning instead of telekinesis. That wouldn't have been pleasant. There were sure a lot of things to consider from this duel.

At the same time, Padawan Ryker had arrived, offering a sparring to Kegari. "I think I've taken enough of a beating for today," the Zeltron chuckled, taking a seat at a nearby stone to rest, taking deep breaths. "I'm going to sit this one out."

Byron stood with both hands up in front of him. Each hand was partially open but ready to clench into a fist as well as splay should grappling come into play. His eyes focused on the saber Kegari was using but then reminded himself to not just focus on the weapon his enemy wielded but also the enemy themselves.

Step by step he got closed. Recognizing Form III, he didn't know it intimatly but knew the concepts. Mainly this was because it was also the form he had gravitated towards outside of the basic forms. But not having an official Knight or Master nor a lightsaber to call his own had him look for means of martial disipline unarmed combat.

Despite having experience with shock boxing, Byron was still not used to non-sporting violence as well as an opponent who was armed. It defenitly was going to make him change the tactics he would have used on an unarmed foe. "Sorry I took so long." He came within two meters knowing that Kegari would be able to reach him but he wasn't able to reach her. If she was using the way of the mynock then she was already admitting she was on the defensive and less likely to lash out and do anything other than spar a battle of attrition. If the Pantoran didn't strike yet the padawan would circle her a little but stay at the edge of her striking range. "If we're going to be fighting Sith will they be using the same forms as we are?" He asked so that Nykoria and Eileen could hear him since he figured they were the ones more likely to be knowledgeable in that department.

This was a question Eileen was more than glad to answer. She’d only ever encountered one Dark Side user, and though it was unlikely they were Sith (being that the Sith were extinct) it was nonetheless eye opening.

“If they are a fallen member of our Order, yes. From historical accounts, they prefer to use Form V, Form II or Form VII.”

The Vahla was watching the two students calmly. Though her wrist stung and she’d used the Force quite aptly the girl wasn’t really tired. Eileen supposed that’s what happened when you’re forced to hold up a whole Freighter with the Force - you just get used to the effort.

“The Dark-Sider I encountered on Tatooine used a watered down version of Djem So. They didn’t stick around long enough for me to learn anything more.”

Kegari focused her eyes on Byron, she knew they were new to the art of lightsaber combat even she too didn’t have a lightsaber of her own, and she felt like she was already mastering the basics of combat; however, there’s still so much she didn’t know.

She listened intently to Eileen as she was explaining about the different forms of combat. She knew that at some point as part of her Jedi trials into Knighthood she would have to know all of them and how they are executed. But for now, she was focused on training.

She examined Byron and the use of the shock gloves, she learned to not be intimidated by other weapons of choice, especially if she didn’t have time think and had to be quick on her feet. Although this is practice There would be times that we would not be, and if she thought about it could cost her.

The Padawan's question caught Nykoria off guard. What lightsaber forms did the Sith actually use? Despite meeting some, the Zeltron hadn't crossed blades with any yet. Luckily, Eileen seemed to be more well-versed in that regard. That's something I'll need to rectify. After all, Kori had taken a liking to lightsaber exercises. It would make sense to learn more on the theory. Still, despite silence being a valid (and probably better) option, Kori couldn't stay away.

"It's probably worth mentioning that each form is just a tool. Although the moves are largely the same, it's how they mixed and matched together can get different. Some Jedi and Sith would focus on one form and master it to perfection. Others would borrow techniques from multiple forms to surprise the opponent."

However, it took mastery and rote learning of those basic forms to make them useful in a fight. That is why the Jedi focused on learning specific forms. Even then, Eileen had demonstrated that there was more than the lightsaber to decide the course of a duel. Speaking of that...

The Zeltron closed her eyes and tried to feel the world around her through the Force. There was Padawan Ryker, circling around. In the center of the circle was Kegari, who didn't seem to take the first move and strike, despite having an advantage. And then there was a slightly stronger presence in the force. Had to be Eileen. It didn't mean that she was stronger in the Force (even though she very well could be). But rather, the sparring did make Kori attune to her opponent somewhat.

Now, for inanimate objects. Something large and solid—a stone. Yet the shape isn't natural... Too intricate. A statue. Then it has to have... A sheathed sword. Eyes closed, Nykoria made the weapon flow towards her. There was more than one statue with a sword. Soon, the sheathed swords surrounded the purple Jedi, angled vertically towards the ground and floating slowly, like a whirlwind...
