DESCRIPTION​

Although the Royal Navy of the Hapes Consortium employs age venerable designs that receive updates, the Flash-class is a new design in use by the Royal Hapan Navy. The Flash-class is a light frigate that specializes in dealing with starfighters, bombers, and corvettes. The Flash is a blend between corvette and light frigate, but "Light Frigate' is what it was dubbed as.

The dual light laser cannon turrets make for good point defense, they are maneuverable and agile and are good at tracking enemy starfighters. It's turbolaser cannon can give the light frigate more of a punch if needed. The missile launcher turret on the ship's underside also provides additional support.

Also true to Hapan design principles, the Flash-class is fast and very maneuverable for a ship it's size. Although the Flash-class isn't very good in ship-to-ship against other capital craft, it does make up for it with it's speed and it's anti-starfighter weaponry. The Flash-class is typically used to support the larger Battle Dragons and Nova Crusiers. The Flashes watch for enemy fighters while the Battle Dragons and the Novas battle against the enemy capital ships. In the event the Flashes are outmatched, their speed lets them be able to try to disengage from the battle.

The Flash-class in addition to supporting the heavier capital ships, the Flash-class are also used for patrols far out in the Transitory Mists in the Hapes Cluster. The Flash-class has shown so far to be effective with dealing with pirates or other low-level threats along it's patrols, rather than having to send a larger Nova class to do the same.

LEGALITY​

Restricted. These ships are proprietary property of the Hapan Navy, in addition to following other laws regarding capital ship use. Unauthorized use or possession of these ships is illegal.

INTENT​

To expand on the Hapes Consortium arsenal of ships, giving them a option that's between a starfighter and a cruiser.

RESTRICTIONS​

Flash-class Light Frigates capital ships with heavy weapons, and capital ships cannot be owned or operated by individual characters.

While I like the gist of this ship, it's both too fast and too maneuverable, though I understand that's the point. It you could adjust it to 75 MGLT and average maneuverability, which would still be approximately Millennium Falcon level, I would accept that.
