Theed, Naboo

It's a bright, sunny day in Naboo. The skys were clear, and it's lovely. Naboo is just one of those worlds like Chandrlia and New Alderaan where its generally just easy on the eyes most of the time. Perfect for what Nicolas Clément has arranged today. A forum for Senators, Jedi, and Emryc Thorne to discuss the problems that have been plaguing the galaxy as of late. Emryc Thorne in his holonet news video took it upon himself to be the voice for people and worlds not involved in the fight with the Sith, that got involved anyway, with unfortunate pain, suffering, and death following. Emyrc has gotten a following, with many people agreeing. Not wanting tensions to escalate and the situation to get worse, that's why this the New Alderaanian Senator called this together a few days ago in holonet boardcast of his own, not content to do nothing.

Nicolas figured Naboo would be a good planet to host such an occasion. It's not a part of the New Republic or the FWA. It's a neutral and peaceful planet as well, fitting.

It took a few days to get this ready, but it's done, and today is the day. Nicolas Clément would be in the conference room in a public building where this will take place. The interior with the signature architectural style as the rest of the buildings in Theed. The conference room should be large enough to accommodate his expected turnout, and plenty of seats as well.

Nicolas just hopes that everyone here can talk about this in a civil, diplomatic manner; and come to an understanding and agreement for the sake of everyone, and for the sake for a better galaxy.

Nicolas was wearing a suit, looking professional. The New Alderaanian Senator would be standing close to the doors, in a position to greet everyone coming through the doors. It's almost time. He hopes Emryc Thorne does attend, of course. Nicolas is optimistic about this, maybe this won't be solved in a single day, but the most important thing is progress.

[OOC: Open to Senators, Emryc Thorne @Sreeya, and representation for the Jedi. Also open to anyone else that makes sense.]

When word reached him of a gathering on Naboo with Senator Emryc Thorne slotted to make an appearance, the old Pirate would make haste to Naboo, in all the style that public transport had to offer. Luckily for him, he was crazy about planning so he would ensure that he got to the planet a day or so before the event so he could find the location. Once found, he would get there before the crack of dawn, waiting outside the entrance, obviously halted by security.

"No, no.. I'm here just waiting for Senator Thorne. If he's here now, can you fetch him before the meeting starts? It's important." the Kaleesh would say.

"I'd have to check."
the sergeant at the gate would say.

"Then check, I'll wait." Vrash would say, stepping aside and looking down the line of fairly well dressed dignitaries. Unlike him, who wore his armor but wielded with him, only his staff. He had thought it prudent to leave the other weapons in his apartment, thinking his arrival would be viewed as an attack instead then an offer of help.

So, he'd wait. For some reason, a former Pirate Lord was here. Who could really know why?

Max arrived on Naboo shortly after his run in with the press in front of the senate building. He had thought more about the holonet broadcast and the confusion and rage that came back from it. It was, on some level, to be expected. Jedi had spent years away from the spotlight and that hadn't really helped.

People trusted what they knew and what they could see. With the Jedi? They hadn't had much reason in the last couple hundred years to do either of them. The Jedi had been practically gone for so long that the Galaxy as a whole didn't know them - which made slandering them easy and defending against said slander harder.

But he wasn't going to stop just because it was hard.

Naboo was beautiful and he locked up his ship as he made his way toward the meeting. Once again he had forgone any lightsaber or other weapons, bringing only a single datapad. As a Jedi he was never truly without an ally as a 'weapon' and he was confident that he was not going to need to actively fight for his life today. Fighting for the political lives of the Jedi?

That much was a certainty.

Being led through to the lovely building, he adjusted his new robes slightly and was left to his own devices close to the doors. Spotting Nicolas Clement nearby, he smiled a little bit and made his way to the senator. He held out a hand to shake as he approached.

"Senator Clement - good to see you again."
he greeted him with a smile, "Master Tionson here as the Jedi representative."

Senator York got there early. He wanted to be one of the first ones there. What he really wanted was to watch this Thorne character walk into the room. York had a knack for reading people live and in person. It's hard to know what you're dealing with looking at a blue image on a hologram projector. And it wasn't just Thorne. Senators and representatives of other factions would be there as well. York wanted to get a feel for them all, and York believed a lot could be learned on how someone entered a place of business. Confident? Cocky? Anxious? Insecure? York sat back with an unlit cigar and not mingling as he normally would, but just people watching. Looking for signs of weakness in each person that could be exploited.

Soygun thought Naboo was an interesting choice. Here they are to discuss independent systems, the Jedi, the Sith, and the relationship of all of the above with the Senate. Interesting because it was a senator from Naboo, Sheev Palpatine, that used the Separatist Systems like pawns and fooled the Senate and the Jedi alike. Turned out, he was a Sith Lord. Who knew? Nobody knew. That was the problem. And the more York thought about it, the more parallels he saw. And now they were on Naboo. Damn it, boy.

The Jedi sent someone. Well, this little meeting with Thorne may get interesting. Tense, dramatic. Should be great theatre. York smirked to one side of his mouth only, the side that held the cigar firm in his lips. He sent word to the senator from New Alderaan that he would be here as soon as he saw the Holonet Invitation to Thorne and the senators of the FWA. York normally had a plan, a motive. He wasn't sure what the right play was just yet. He didn't like the Jedi. He didn't trust Thorne from what he had seen. The one thing he believed more strongly than any of that, however, was that the attention of the Sith needed to be directed at either the Jedi or the independent systems and not the FWA.

What York really wanted was to instigate a fight between the Jedi, the Sith, and the systems that flock to Thorne. Let them beat up on each while the FWA prepared for whoever the victor would turn out to be. In the meantime, pop some popcorn and watch the fireworks.

A man in favour of the unification of Outer Rim planets had recently been on the holonet announcing as much, dressed in a fine suit and decrying the folly and religious fervor of the Sith and Jedi both. He was a relative unknown in the greater galaxy before his media debut, but there were still some who knew of him. His grand speeches had drawn certain attentions as a result of his history with certain groups, and his movements were being tracked as a result.

Which was the reason a modified TIE Elder, bearing a transponder signal originating from Sullust, was currently screaming its way toward Emryc Thorne's ship at 125MGLT with weapons hot and shields up. It had been hiding near the planet, power off beyond basic life support and passive sensors, and only roared to life when the target appeared within range. Targeting systems locked onto the ship and the fighter strafed across the larger vessel's underbelly, staggered laser fire streaking out across the void. The ship's pilot emanated a Dark sense of deep and burning fury to any who could feel such things.

The TIE passed in front of the ship and banked sharply, switched off afterburners, then blasted down to follow on the ship's tail down toward Theed. It stayed just behind the rear thrusters, firing laser cannon bursts that clipped the sides and collided with straining shields. The TIE even followed as the city came well into sight, chasing it high above and across Theed's idyllic skyline.

A break in the laser fire was followed by a concussion missile that twisted it's way toward Emryc's ship, detonating off the side and ripping through maneuvering thrusters. The only real choice was to even out to prevent a sudden drop in altitude, which meant the TIE was able to direct an accurate series of laser blasts into the ship's thrusters.

After a few more shots, however, the TIE rapidly broke off and re-engaged its fusial afterburners to rapidly re-accelerate back to 125MGLT. Royal Naboo fighters scrambled to deal with the threat while emergency personnel rushed out in speeders to respond to an imminent crash. Two more concussion missiles fired toward three intercepting N-1 fighters, causing them to scatter as the TIE soared past them and up on an escape vector, a proximity detonation taking out one of them and sending it spiraling toward the countryside. The other two turned to pursue and fired their cannons, the difference in speed and distance resulting in only clipping shots against the TIE's shields.

Since the chase began, the TIE's astromech had been calculating a hyperspace route for the pilot to escape. The modified engines could outrun Naboo's defensive craft. Once the fighter escaped atmosphere and the mass shadow of the planet it launched forward to streak off at lightspeed on a route directly to Sullust.

Morgan took off his full-cover pilot's helmet after the TIE hit lightspeed, taking a deep breath as his skin returned to its more normal hue and his fury faded. He looked forward to the next time he and Emryc crossed paths. But for now, he still had work to do.

The last time Emryc was on Holo, he was openly speaking out against a Jedi broadcast that had a teen boy sobbing on camera. He went on to disparage both Jedi and Sith. He followed that up with making his way over to a forum with FWA Senators and Jedi that was announced on Holo with its location.

He had procured a personal ship for this mission. Emryc had just announced himself in to the Senate comms and entered the atmosphere when the TIE fighter zoomed into view. He was caught off guard, attempting to take evasive maneuvers as the underbelly of the ship was pepper with blaster bolts. To anyone watching, they would see the pleasure yacht careening from side to side, the pilot clearly having lost control. It banked hard left and then right, thick smoke pluming from it.

Emryc quickly course corrected to even out the ship. That was when the thrusters were attacked, klaxons blaring from all sides. Visibility was almost impossible as fire and smoke began to plume from the back and bottom of the ship. The ship stalled out before it slammed into the ground, skidding forward and colliding with a few trees before finally coming to a stop just a few miles from the Senate building.

“This just in! Emryc Thorne’s ship has been shot down from the sky!” The panicked voice of a reporter resounded as Holonews switched to the breaking story, “I repeat! Emryc Thorne’s ship has been shot down! This is a developing story!” The camera panned to people rushing to the scene and Naboo authorities trying to hold reporters and media back.

In the distance, a thick column of smoke rose from the crash site. Medical speeders zoomed into the scene, several operatives quickly rushing over to pry the ship doors open. Holonet was a complete frenzy as various media platforms tried to cover the story, speculations blasting around whether or not he was alive and, more importantly, who was the attacker?

“Evidence suggests it was a TIE fighter!” One of the Holonews channels said, “We don’t know if this was a targeted attack or part of a terrorism plot! Naboo officials are advising locals to lock down until the area can be cleared of threats!”

The Senate building was buzzing with activity. The Jedi and other Senators would quickly be ushered to a secure location in the lower levels of the building until it was deemed safe.

People were already there waiting, and Nicolas saw a familiar face come in, Master Tionson from the 'official introduction' on Chandrilia not too long ago. Nicolas would would respond with a smile right back at hime. "Nice to see you again as well, Master Tionson" he nodded.

But it wasn't before too long until things would start to get more... interesting. Far more interesting than the New Alderaan senator would have wanted. Not long after exchanging words with the Jedi Master, he would hear a light shaking in the ground, like a small tremor or something just occured. Nicolas would look away to see if something happened, and he his jaw dropped at the sight of what appears to be a decent-sized ship that just crashed as he looked through window, with fire and smoke coming through it.

The holoscreen that was in the conference room the forum was taking place at suddenly dropped it's regular programming to broadcast the breaking news. Normally it was just in the background, but it would quickly catch everyone's interest...

"This just in! Emryc Thorne’s ship has been shot down from the sky! ..."

The New Alderaanian heard. This was shocking, Nicolas was at a loss of words, he heard the newscaster repeat that announcement and then watched the holoscreen, seeing the camera feed. This looks like a clear attempt on his life, out of no where. The Senator wondered silently who could did that, although when the news gets further information, it will give more insight as to what did it. Nicolas also wonders if Emryc and anyone else inside survived.

It didn't take long for security to show up following that. Nicolas Clément would comply with security and be escorted to the secure location, nothing else he can do. What was supposed to be a occasion to for problems to be solved diplomatically has taken a turn for the worse. He would sigh, a sad day for diplomacy.

Outside the building Vrash watched in horror as the ship bearing the beacon of hope for the Independent systems was shot down. Everywhere, reports were going wild and people were going wild. The Kaleesh forced his way through the crowd. "Out of the way!" he shouted as he shoved a pedestrian down, pausing just long enough to hear the words 'Tie Fighter'.

Sith. The bane of his life and his truest prey. Oh how he would look forward to hunting them down. Yellow reptillian eyes trailed the craft all the way to its impact. As one of the Naboo security forces mounted their speeder, they would catch the back end of his staff and double over unconscious. Shoving the guard off the speeder he would take his place and race off towards the crash site. He raced past other security forces who were heading there with caution, there was none from him. It wasn't the first time he'd run towards a burning ship and wouldn't be the last.

Arriving on the scene, he would swing down, letting the speeder continue on for several yards before it came to a stop. Kriff was the ship karked. The front was busted to the ninth ring of hell and already the dumbest of folk were pounding on it. Humans. They were weak, dumb, and fragile. They were trying to figure out how to pry the doors open with nothing but a perky attitude and some bare hands. The pirate shoved his way past them, staff in hand. "Move you fools. The Senator will die while you play with yourselves. Stop banging on the blasted viewport! You'll bring the ship down around him!"

"How do you know he's not already dead?" one of them would ask.

"Because you voiced it, boy, if I find naught but a corpse I'll be adding you to the mix." Vrash would answer before he drove the butt of the staff inbetween the small opening of the boarding ramp door and used the sturdy piece to pry the doors open. Some of the smarter or maybe just stronger humans would help him apply the force. Once it was forced open, he'd step in, fearless when confronted with smoke and flame. "Check for a crew." he'd say gruffly to any of the med crew brave enough to follow him in.

He would force his way through the back of the craft, the heat and the smoke nearly blinding him, but what was pain except for weakness leaving the body? What were scars to a man already long past his life? He was thankful he had decided to wear his armor as it managed to help somewhat with the flames and the heat, but boy were those systems working double time. Reaching the cockpit, he'd stop at the door, once more using his staff to pry the thing open. He cursed as this door seemed to be jammed, but nothing a little Kaleesh elbow grease couldn't solve. That's when he heard it, the pounding. Those damn fools. "Senator Thorne!"

Caliban had mixed feelings about Naboo. The planet was pretty enough, and there was no denying the fresh air was not something that you got on Coruscant. But having spent almost all his life in the hustle and bustle of one or the other ecumenopolis in the Galactic Core, he felt too exposed on such a world. Add in the Gungans, who really weirded him out, and Caliban was far from comfortable at the prospect of a drawn out forum on Naboo.

So when news broke out that the dignitary they were there to meet had just been shot out of the sky, Caliban felt a weird mix of emotions. Shock at the outrageousness of such an act, that too on a world like Naboo, concern for the beings aboard the ship, and tinging it all a sense of discomfort at any hopes of a quick resolution to this summit and a swift return to the Core vanishing.

As he, alongside the other delegates, was shepherded away to a secure location, Caliban pulled out his datapad and started pulling up information from the newsfeeds and the official lines of communication that he had access to. If he was going to be stuck here then he might as well keep himself buried in work, the better to keep himself distracted from the fact that he was on Naboo.

"Ain't that a hell of a note..." the senator of Kattada would say under his breath as he watched the breaking news in real time on a holofeed. The ship, supposedly carrying Thorne was shot down. Most of the room put on their shocked face, many of them genuinely so. There were several in the room that were rightfully horrified by what they saw. York leaned back with a sigh and watched as security members started ushering the senators to a secure location. As one security member tried to get York to get to moving, York smiled and nodded as if he would get on it. Before he would go anywhere, however, he lit his cigar, took a long drag and slowly exhaled the smoke above his head.

"Senator York! There is no smoking in this building, and we really must get a move on!"

Soygun pulled the cigar from his lips and looked at the security team member with a puzzled look. "Your team is responsible for security for all dignitaries at this meeting, correct? And you just let the most important one of us get his ass shot down and maybe blown to bits somewhere northwest of here." He put the cigar back in his mouth and took another drag before pulling the cigar from his lips again. The smoke would exit his mouth as he spoke. "I think you have bigger problems than my cigar. Hmm?" York suggested he go help another senator.

York would do what is prudent. He would go to whatever "undisclosed location" they had in mind. But first, he took a long look out from the window of the meeting room. The trail of smoke from Thorne's ship could be seen in a long, gray trail across the bright blue Naboo sky. York tapped the ashes from his cigar on the floor indiscriminately as he talked quietly to himself. "Wonder if you were smart enough to send a decoy ship and follow behind." Another drag and exhale of white smoke. "And if you're dead...well, I guess you won't be a headache for the FWA afterall."

He could see another member of the security detail walking in his direction, no doubt to chastise him for smoking and to push him along to the safe room. He would beat him to the punch. He flipped the lit end of the cigar into his mouth and blew it out, extinguishing it and put it back in his cigar case. No sense in wasting this much of a good cigar. Before the security team member could speak, Soygun was walking by him with his hand raised to him. "Yeah, yeah. I know. I'm going."

Well he had been musing about missing the more violent and physical aspects of the war… he supposed he should be better off considering what he was wishing for. He nodded to the senator for New Alderaan.

“Senator – we shall speak later I’m sure.”

Before he took off at a run.

Getting through the crowds was fairly easy since he was very obviously a Jedi and, equally as obviously, running in the opposite direction to the majority of the crowd. The Force had been quiet save for a Dark feeling that lanced through the void during the attack, meaning the Master was moving before the first of the announcements was finished.

It landed a mile or so from the building but distance was no large issue when the Force was his ally. Alternating between jumping and running, Max arrived at the downed ship in time to see someone with a staff weapon breaking into the ship, leading the medics in with them. Following in after them, Max entered the ship to find it searing hot.

Reaching into the Force he began to manipulate the flames with the Force, snuffing them out even as he followed the warlord to another jammed door. He wouldn’t be able to fully suppress the flames but he could weaken them around the cockpit they were trying to break into. Grabbing hold of the door with the Kaleesh, he nodded to him as his muscles were filled with Reinforcement through the Force.

“Together!” he declared before pulling at one half of the jammed door, “Senator can you hear us?”

This was turning into a right mess all around but he wasn’t going to let someone die for standing up for the rights of the independent peoples of the Galaxy. What kind of Jedi would he be if he ran and hid? No, he refused to let the Sith snuff out another light even if it wasn’t a Jedi – some people did more for the betterment of the Light and life than even some Jedi. He started to well the Force within himself for healing as needed as well... it promised to be a long day already.

There was something about waking up to the sound of a crash. The aged Senator from Belsavis had been startled to wake, and looked around groggily as Senators were ushered out of the room to safety. He especially admired the man getting in a quick smoke. As Security came his way, he'd hold up a hand. "Now you listen to me, brother. Nobody touches the Maverick, ya hear?" Even in his old age he still had those twenty two inch arms which meant that every suit was custom and the slightest wrong move and he was taking everyone in the building to the gun show.

As the guard stepped back, Zohn would rise to his feet, tighten his bandana then fix his cufflinks before heading into the secured area.

The civilians saw the Jedi arrive at the scene and visibly stiffened. They saw the robes, they saw the way he moved faster than possible for a human. And they thought about who he was rushing to ‘help’. One of the people that had stepped back when the Kaleesh brushed everyone off turned to glare at the Jedi.

“....No Sith...No Jedi…” He said quietly, “No Sith. No Jedi,” He said as he started to walk towards the Jedi. A few of the others started to step forth, “No Sith, No Jedi.”

“No Sith! No Jedi!”

“No Sith! No Jedi!”

The groups began to gather around Max, strongly hinting that they wanted him to back off. A large Feeorin stepped forth and all but shoved him out of the way, stepping in next to the Kaleesh, “I will help. We don’t need magic pajama boy,” He said gruffly.

People collectively began to chant “No Sith! No Jedi!” while raising their fists into the air. The media was picking this up on Holo.

Meanwhile, as @Vrashinal Karzinkaal and the Feeorin burst into the ship...

The ship was hot - very hot. Smoke plumed as Vrash pried open the cockpit doors. For a moment, there was no sound. After a second, there was the sound of someone couching and wheezing. A man stumbled out from the cockpit, struggling to breathe as he planted a hand against the doorway to stand. He would almost collapse into the Kaleesh. He was bleeding from his forehead, though thankfully it wasn’t too deep. What was concerning was that one of his arms was awkwardly bent and clearly broken. Even with the best plans, Emryc couldn’t account for everything.

“Get...me out…” He wheezed as he looked up at the Kaleesh. He was covered in soot, parts of his suit torn up at the arms. He leaned on the Kaleesh for help getting out, his arm hanging uselessly at his side. His eyes were burning from the smoke and he stumbled his way over.

Repulsorbeds were brought over for him and multiple medical personnel were waiting by the exit point to carry Emryc.

Naboo local law enforcement was on the scene to push the reporters back, still claiming they weren’t sure about the status of Thorne. They didn’t want to disclose information around his status until they could confirm there were no Sith around.

“NO SITH! NO JEDI! NO SITH! NO JEDI!”

Holonews had little to report on except for civilians beginning to chant the sentiment, people getting angry and on edge. The camera turned to a reporter on the scene, her hair frazzled from rushing there.

“As you can hear behind me, the local citizens appear to be very angry about a Jedi that looks to be on the scene now! We still don’t know about Emryc Thorne, though we are seeing a lot of medical personnel rushing over!” She ducked as a local rushed past her to join the growing group of chanting protesters. Some began to take their shoes off and fling it at the Jedi.

Meanwhile, back in the Senate hall…

An official stepped in to address the senators that were all assembled in the bunker.

“Emryc Thorne is alive but injured,” He said, “Initial reports suggest that the ship that attacked him was a TIE fighter with transponder pings that originated from Sullust.”

No Jedi and no Sith?

Strange thing to chant when only one of those groups was responsible for an attack that had resulted in the crash and an assault on the life of a well respected senator... but not an unexpected thing to chant at all. His heart went out to the people around him as their anger and their confusion and their fears surged. To them, the Jedi and the Sith were almost the same thing - they were people apart from them, separate, who could manipulate the Force in ways that they simply couldn't.

Fear and confusion lead to anger so very easily but Max was not about to react in kind or enforce his will upon locals who were making their opinions very clear. He held up his hands when he was blocked from entering the craft and did as requested, backing away from the door. However he did not back away from the ship too much, waiting until Emryc and a few members of his crew were retrieved from the wreckage. He made to move toward Emryc to offer healing but he paused in his action when a shoe came flying out of the crowd to hit him on his shoulder.

His lack of any real reaction (aside from a slow blink at realizing, yes, he had been hit with a shoe) to this 'assault' seemed to spur on the crowd as more shoes were thrown his way but he didn't allow them to hit him. Instead he raised a hand, moving his hand slightly each time a shoe approached him. Each projectile would fall to the ground a foot from him, robbed of it's momentum by the Force.

There was no speaking to a crowd chanting for his removal louder than he could ever speak so he didn't, instead staying non-violent and merely beginning to walk back to the senate building, walking parallel to Emryc's repulsorboard for a few moments before beginning to head back to the senate building. He made no move to use Force Speed as he had earlier, simply focusing on stopping any projectiles from hitting him as he made his way back, thinking on his actions.

Had he stayed inside, they would question why he did not attempt to assist when he had the power to do so. He would not regret his instinctive decision to attempt to lend assistance, even if it was rebuffed. Still, it was hard to be so thoroughly rebuffed for attempting to help people. It... it hurt a little to face such naked fear and anger for being who and what he was. But he couldn't fault the people for their fears and he refused to respond to their anger with violence.

If nothing else the news would have to report that a Jedi's attempts to assist were rebuffed and the Jedi respected the wishes of a local population. Damned if it didn't feel like a defeat though...

Vrash would glance to the Jedi, unsure of his presence before he was forcefully removed by a large Feeorin. Giving the man a nod, they'd heave hard on the staff, forcing the door open. The Kaleesh would bear the burden of the surprisingly light elfin senator. "I got you, boy. No forcies are getting to you now." Vrash would say as he cleared the way with the staff all the way to the repulsorbed.

Easing the Senator down, he looked to the infringing media. "Go around the long ways. Keep security tight, we don't want them knowing if it was a corpse or a body we pulled out. Get a cover and keep him hidden." He'd order to some of the security forces. Removing his heavy cloak he'd lay it atop Emryc. "Rest easy, Senator Thorne. We'll get you to safety."

What a great day it was for the truth. And JJ marched triumphantly around the downed craft. All around him, the people were chanting. "NO MORE JEDI! NO MORE SITH! NO MORE JEDI! NO MORE SITH!" it was sweet music to his ears as he fist pumped to the tempo, before stopping in front of his camera.

"Oh my dear beloved Nabooans! Today is a mournful yet powerful day for the people of the galaxy! Behind me, you see the wreckage of Senator Thorne's ship! It's flames charged by the fervor around me! We called them out and so they answered! Those menaces! The sith and their Jedi -cohorts-! They attacked a man for speaking out against them! Well, the people see the lies and have woken up! No more Jedi and no more Sith! No more Phantom Menace! Hah! Ya see that?! This is JJ Johnson, reporting from the scene of a -heinous- affront on our people!"

The camera would shift as he pointed to a Jedi 'fleeing' the scene, a shoe bouncing off of him. "A direct hit! Get that man a raise! As you can see, the Sith have tried to strike down a powerful voice and sent one of their Jedi allies into finish the job! But look as they flee as the noble population defends the Senator!" He paused to kick his slide into his hand and launched it in the direction of the Jedi. "Armed with nothing but shoes!" It would miss, but that wouldn't be seen, just JJ taking a stand. "Bernie! Get my loafer!"

JJ turned back to the camera, his fist clenched. "Let's see if we can take this galaxy wide. NO MORE JEDI! NO MORE SITH! NO MORE JEDI! NO MORE SITH!"

All around him civilians gathered and chanted, one such clad in nothing but pants and a furry cap.

It wasn’t long before Emryc was discreetly carted off to the nicest hospital in the area, which was thankfully close by. The Senate building was on lockdown for a few hours until the Naboo officials completed their sweep and declared that there were no reasons to believe that the threat remained. Nevertheless, armed personnel dotted all critical locations.

The civilian protests continued and media outlets broadcasted the incidents across the galaxy. The scene around the crashed ship was teeming with people and a massive crowd had gathered there. People were screaming and chanting the anti Jedi and anti Sith sentiments. Some had come out with makeshift signs to display on Holo, some of them calling for ‘banning the Force’.

Emryc was allowed visitors at this point and a sharply dressed woman arrived and stared wide eyed at the intimidating Kaleesh poised in front of his door, “Hello, I’m Lina Kyri, a representative of Her Majesty Queen Emilia Parnelli of Naboo. I am here to inform Mr. Thorne that the Queen would like to extend her deepest regrets at this happening to him on her watch. She would like to offer an invitation to him to visit the palace once he is well.”

She appeared too terrified to even ask to step past @Vrashinal Karzinkaal .

Reporters were entirely in the dark so far. Everyone assumed him dead. It wasn’t till sweeps had been conducted and the authorities deemed it ‘safe’ that Emryc asked for them to come into his room. He asked them to roll the cameras, not quite ready for reporters just yet.

The galaxy was given a picture of him sitting upright in a medical bay bed. His head was bandaged, and ice packs were pressed against his bruised ribs. His left arm was in a sling. His suit jacket was removed and he was in his button down, his hair ruffled and not as neat as he normally kept it. His piercing eyes gazed directly into the camera as he began to speak.

“Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated,” He began with the faintest grin. He could hear the collective screaming at other parts of the hospital that didn’t know he had been brought here, “It will take far more to remove me as a problem. I am not intimidated. I am not swayed from my purpose. If they want to shoot me down for the platform I stand on, then they better make damn sure I can’t get back up again.”

Emryc smiled at the camera then, “I came to Naboo for a reason. We will have this meeting. Senator Clement, let us begin. The floor is yours.”

A holo projection of Emryc in the state he was in appeared in the Senate meeting hall, waiting for the others to convene.

Getting back into the senate building wasn't too difficult, the crowd torn between breaking away from the scene of the crash, trying to track down Emryc's hospital location (which none of them actually knew it seemed) and following him to the steps of the senate building. It spoke to the respect that the people of Naboo had for democracy that they left him alone after he began ascending the steps, though Max did note the increased amount of hostility and tension in the senate guards.

It wasn't an aide who guided him to the rest of the delegates but a trio of senate guard, two following behind him while one led the way. They were professional and they were kind but he could feel their emotions. He could feel the tension they kept within themselves even if it hadn't boiled over into anger and confusion as the crowd had.

The chants weren't actually audible within the senate building but he could still feel them and they would be on loop within his mind for some time he knew.

The doors unlocked by the guard, Max nodded to him and moved into the room with the senators and other delegates. There was even a holographic projection of Emryc Thorne which actually made him smile. Despite the chaos that had sprung up and the anger directed at his Order, he was glad the young man was alive. Finding his seat, he made a small bow of his head to the assembled senators to apologize for his lateness.

He wanted to say that it was good to see that Emryc had survived his landing but there was decorum to be observed - Senator Celement had the floor. So instead he merely attempted to catch Emryc's eye and bow his head to him in acknowledgement and, hopefully, goodwill.

The lockdown was lifted in a few hours, Nicolas had his tie loosened and taken off his jacket. And he kept himself busy in the meant time by looking at his datapad, same as what Coruscant's own senator was doing. And these reports were outright disturbing. Nicolas' fist clenched on the announcement that the TIE Fighter had it's transponder pinged from Sullust, the Sith's improvised center of power.

On one hand Nicolas started to blame himself, because this was his idea. And on the otherhand this was a blatant assassination attempt on a dignitary carried out by Sith agents if the reports are accurate. This will inspire Nicolas to take further action to the Free Worlds Senate. The reports heavily speculated that Throne might be very well dead. The anti-force user sentiment has also seem to have gotten to the people here. They don't want Sith nor Jedi, and it's gotten to the people of the peaceful Naboo. Nicolas can't say he's given up on the Jedi yet though. But the Sith... they deserve at the revilement they get without a doubt.

With lockdown lifted, the senators gotten word from one of the guards that Emryc is in-fact alive from his ordeal. Nicolas was relived. And he was surprised when he heard that Emryc is still willing to participate in these talks. The determination from this man... he had to admire.

He would catch Emryc just in time, they are going to do have to do this via live holoprojection, Nicolas would be back in the conference room. He can see that Emryc is banged up, but he is alive and otherwise well. Well, Nicolas heard the man, the floor is his. Nicolas would then speak "Thank you Mr. Emryc. I just want to say real quick that I'm relived that you've survived, and I'm admire your resolve to continue this in-spite of all this" Nicolas gave him props, smiled sincerely and nodded his head. He could give him more props, but he thinks Emryc is eager to get productive, Nicolas is too.

Now that he had gotten that out of the way, it's time to get to it. "Mr. Emryc. Everyone" he addressed would look towards the others in the room, Senators and the lone Jedi. "Big issues were brought up in the recent videos by Emryc, Jedi in unaligned worlds, and the Free Worlds involvement in these manners, and... other questionable actions. We all know what's was talked about in the videos." The other Senators weren't living under a rock surely, or at least he hoped.

The New Alderaan senator would pause. "I do understand your issues with what happened with these events. I called this here in hopes of quelling the tensions in the galaxy. This is a galaxy on edge as it is. And we are here to talk and see if we can come to a solution and agreement. For a better galaxy."

"I'm not expecting us to agree on everything said, our viewpoints will probably clash, there might not be a perfect answer for this. But, nonetheless I do believe that we can talk about this civilly, address everything that needs to be addressed, and find compromise and agreement to make things better."
Nicolas would say, a firm believer in diplomacy "With that being said, lets get to work." He would nod his head.

Nicolas, looking towards the holoscreen, looking at the display of Thorne, and across the room he would then say. "Today's events showcase how just how vile the Sith are. I believe they must answer for this along with all their other crimes. Not just against the Free Worlds, but everywhere else. Which includes, and not limited to the Invasion of Ryloth. They need to be stopped." he thinks that's a sentiment they can all agree on. Part of the issue was, and a big issue, how the Jedi and Free Worlds were approaching it. "While the Jedi have may have done questionable things, the Free Worlds is hard-pressed to stop the Sith without them. And I understand the un-aligned worlds that want nothing to do with this conflict."

"So my question is, is how can the Jedi, Free Worlds, the un-aligned worlds may co-exist with minimum issue & tension. As shown by Ryloth, the Sith won't stop at just the Free Worlds and the Jedi, they will invade as they see fit, having no regard for worlds that wish to be independent. They will become more powerful. Now, what can the Free Worlds, and Jedi to do make this right with the unaligned going forward and minimize the tensions"

Nicolas would step aside a bit, leaving the floor open to others to speak. He talked long enough.

Vrash moved into the path of the diplomat, his reptilian gaze fixed upon the small woman. At her message and obvious fear of him, he would let out an amused laugh. "Run along back to the palace. When he has time, he'll make the trip." the pirate said, his grip tightening around the metal staff quite audible. As she retreated, he'd look back into the room, checking on the Senator. The kid was strong, determined. He was even more sure now than before he was destined to die young for his beliefs.

When the sweeps were done, he'd move to personally barricade the door, letting only the cameras past. One sharply dressed man, the other Anti-Forcie, the second largest voice would stop before the Kaleesh. "I need to get through! Ya know who I am, I'm Jayce Jona-" the cigar bounced between his lips as he spoke, cut off by the Pirate.

"Jonas Jameson.. Yes, I'm a fan of your work, but you cannot go inside. When he is ready, I will inform Senator Thorne that you were here and seeking an interview." Vrash would say with a level tone. "You may stick around if you'd like incase his mind changes, but those are your options."

JJ would huff. "Oh, fine! But you tell Senator Thorne that I think the hubris of the Pajama Cult is what led them to think they are gods. And it's going to take titans, us two, to take them down!" With that, JJ would blow the most perfect smoke ring and move to wait in the hall.

Once that was past, Vrash would step into the room, sure to be within reach of the Senator to defend him if the need arose.
