Valen was still a relative newcomer to the ranks of the Sith, but it was apparent that they were different than the group he had grown up with. They had all worked together to improve their knowledge of the Force, but here among the lower ranks of the Sith Eternal, there was a constant struggle to best one's peers.

He had little interest in fighting with other newcomers for scraps. He had kept to himself for the most part so far, which had only brought more attention to him from others who thought he would be easy prey to bolster their own reputation.

Valen had ventured out early to meditate but had been jumped by three of the more persistent Sith who had decided to gang up on Valen. One of the attackers pushed Valen hard with the Force, causing the young Sith to fly several feet and slide across the rocky ground. Rocks and other debris bit into his skin before he pushed himself back up.

He was a capable fighter, but he was outnumbered and the other three were likely at the same skill level he was. Valen noted the murderous looks in their eyes, no they had not come to just bully the newcomer, they had come to kill him.

Reaching for his lightsaber, Valen braced himself against a battle he had little chance of winning.

Lilith was back on the home world, something she wasn't certain was the right choice but she needed to come here. There were some things she'd left behind, besides the darkness of the planet now felt home to her. Once again, she'd crossed paths with someone who'd changed her life, and for the better unlike Talak.

But as she walked in a more desolate area for the morning air, she caught sight of three Sith picking on a single one. It made more sense to keep going, but Lilith happened to know these three Sith. They'd been telling everyone they could about her connection to Talak, or so she'd been told, to try to turn people against her. An acquaintance of her had mentioned it, and given her the description of their faces.

Anger boiled deeply within her, and threatened to explode any second. There was so much anger that she forgot about the Sith being attacked for a second and simply charged. By the time one of the Sith turned their heads to see her, she'd sent a violent burst of Force at his head and it snapped it back, sending him down to the ground dazed for the moment. Lilith summoned one of her sabers—her normal hilted saber— to her right hand and ignited it.

Once she closed the distance, she swept her blade low then up, and caught the blade of another Sith, one who was going for a stab at the mirialan's back. "Keep your eyes peeled for more," she hissed at the mirialan. She wasn't sure if the three had friends; they weren't suppose to kill one another, but fights did break out in desolate areas because they were Sith.

"My my, why isn't it the traitors apprentice," the one she'd blocked laughed. Lilith practically ignored him as he spoke, and while he did she took advantage and grabbed her second saber but kept it near her belt. She ignited it, pressing the dual phase button in an attempt to lock in the kill. The blade ignited and hissed through the man who'd just insulted her and he collapsed to the ground. At the same time, the Sith she stunned was beginning to regain his wits.

The fight was quick and dirty. The three swarmed Valen but a woman intervened, blocking two attacks that would have ended Valen. The third rushed in, and Valen finally ignited his own blade, deflecting the blow down towards the ground. This was the first fight he had been in where someone was actually trying to kill him.

Valen swung, a somewhat clumsy attack, but the woman's blade extended and pierced the body of the second man behind Valen. The death distracted Valen's opponent and his attack landed.

All was silent except for the two humming lightsabers. Valen stood somewhat dazed, he had never killed anyone before. Even though he had studied the Force, including the Dark Side of the Force, killing had never been apart of his life. He took shallow, quick breaths as he looked at the three corpses now on the ground.

He finally looked over at the woman who had intervened. He was speechless for a moment, still dazed by the event.

The young Sith grunted when the other looked at her with a dazed expression but turned right after that, throwing one of her blades. The blade spun through the air, chopping off the top of the dazed Sith's head before returning to her hand. "There was one more alive and you're just standing here with a dumb look on your face," she growled.

She paused for a handful of seconds and took a double take of the man. His signature was weak and she could barely sense the Dark Side within him. She assumed that it meant he hadn't had much experience. Hers had been weak three years ago too, enough that no one really noticed it. But his inexperience did not make her hold back, "Clearly you have little to no experience with the Force and yet you're out here alone. What were you thinking? Were you even thinking? Do you even understand where you are? You can't go wherever you please whenever you please here or you'll end up like these corpses," she pointed to one of them.

Lilith's mood had dropped rapidly, and not even killing these three made her feel any better. She grunted one more time before walking away. She'd gotten carried away venting her anger and scolding him before realizing they were still standing by well... corpses and sighed. "Both of us need to get out of here before someone stumbles on this scene."
