Onderon was defensively prepared. Fortified, strengthened, protected. No enemies would find it an easy target now, not that they would have from step one. Now, however, it was Ambria's turn to undergo new treatment. The latest planet to undergo 'Onderonisation', Ambria would be the second fortification project. Dxun would follow on last, as Onderon and Ambria could protect the planet if absolutely necessary. Not that Dxun would be the source of any majorly optimistic organisation's attacks; Ambria would have to fall first, which wouldn't happen. Not now, not ever. Macello thought, grimly, as the transport from his flagship above descended towards the barren surface of Ambria. Ambria wasn't particularly beautiful and had, most likely, been a relatively easy conquering project; without a government, the settlements couldn't have really been formed into a cohesive unit, and so stood up to the superior Onderonians. Just as well, Macello thought. Too large a conflict may have drawn unwanted attention.

Ambria was a dry, arid planet, the only punctuation of the uniform mass of dry, barren rocky plains and deserts being the great lakes that spanned the planet, the Onderonian main settlement being set up on the banks of one, particularly large, lake. The meeting held on Ambria some time before had been held in the same location, and Eidur was pleased to see that the ‘settlement’ around had grown, almost to the level of a city. Walls will soon surround such settlements as these. Eidur thought, plans for the fortification already in mind. Onderon was sealed down; Ambria soon would be. As the shuttle put down on the dusty ground, sending rocks rolling away and dust rolling off, Eidur made his way towards the main building, the moisture from the lake providing a welcome relief as the warm, dry and hot sand clung to the back of Eidur's throat, an uncomfortable feeling. Drawing a hip flask from his waist, Eidur swigged and stopped, looking over the lake and smiling. One day, he'd look over this same lake and think of the Onderonian Empire which spanned off in different directions.

Plans had been sent ahead of Macello; the Macellinot forts had been put into construction on the planet, and would soon be linked by a network of walls around the settlements and the likes, effectively putting the land containing no settlements as 'quarantined'; that was where Macello's scientist would come in. If biological and chemical weapons could be set up to be detonated upon command in the 'quarantined' zones, then an enemy force would be trapped within a disease ridden land. Macello would also be riddling the same land with explosives, which would only explode upon command too. No civilian deaths, a deadly defence against enemies, too. Ikairus Tell, the Paladin, and one Macello had chosen as his second command should have already been inside, with a report, ready and waiting. As Macello ascended the stairs, he smiled. The Paladin was doing his job well, so far, and Macello hoped he'd continue to do so. The quicker the fortification jobs were done, the sooner Onderon could get on to larger, greater things.

Jacob was now doing his first job for the Onderonians. He was asked to help make chemical defenses for the Onderonians on Ambria. Also, there was a chance he would need to make biological weapons. The intent was that those would be activated when enemy troops entered quarantine zones. Unfortunately, Jacob's specialty was not in those fields. However, he had a fairly good understanding of those fields so he had a good chance of being rather useful.

At the moment, he was following Macello around as Macello was the one who had accepted him into Onderon. To further understand what he needed to do, he felt questions would greatly enable him to do his job.

"Sir Macello, what sort of enemies would you expect to attack Ambria and how would you intend for them to be killed?" He asked figuring he could come up with chemicals or biological agents once he understood what sort of enemies that would come up.

As the Supreme Admiral entered the command HQ, Ikairus Tell rose from his work, snapping off a salute. His armour, always polished, had not escaped the sand and dust, adhering and creating a scuffed look. He was not impressed. Hopefully, his superior would be, as Ikairus had not only examined the planet, he had extended his eye to the moons orbiting as well.

''Supreme Admiral, Sir. All is advancing as you wished. We are currently installing the systems used on Onderon. I wish to raise a point with you sir, it is fully worded in my report. Ambria has four moons. These could act as a powerful defence. We could mount orbital batteries of weapons and starfighters, giving us a shield wall, a primary defence to give forces planetside a chance to act. There are also plots for efficient explosive spreads. As the biological and chemical weapons are an unknown right now, i have had to leave them from my report.''

He handed a dataslate to Eidur, all the information he needed upon it.

Such an arid landscape intrigued him. Always used to the tundra of Onderon or its sprawling jungles, such a desert was a sight. The dust, thankfully enough, getting through his armor - his mouth felt comfortable and moist, for the time being. He grunted in disgust. For such a planet rich in resources, it was in no way rich in climate, unless one enjoyed being strangled by hundreds of sand grains invading their throat. The sand and dust being thrown around hit into his visor and back off, creating a thin layer of beige dust over his new armor. He had his elite squad of twenty assorted around him in a camp, with his subordinates in smaller camps surrounding.

His sharp, icy eyes looked out toward the command HQ. The Admiral's shuttle just touched down - he would have to go to the HQ and receive some orders of Macello, and, if the Admiral would have ears for him, possibly put out some suggestions. As a previous leader of people, Golgin Do'Krou almost found it hard to take orders - he was nearly reluctant to go. Yet, he felt he had a greater responsibility to Onderon as a whole. He wanted to see his cherished planet grow mighty and expand.

He hopped on a speeder and sped off towards HQ. The winds were finally settling down, at least where he was - the great HQ was no longer covered in a thick cloud of dust. He began to decelerate the speeder and brought it to a halt before the gates. After showing the necessary credentials, he was allowed into the HQ. Before the Admiral he broke into a crisp salute, holding the salute as he spoke.

"Sergeant Major Golgin Do'Krou, reporting for duty, sir!"

The command head quarters, as Macello saw, had been prepared well prior to his arrival by Tell, a man Macello was fast realising he was able to depend on to do such important jobs. Macello saluted, swiftly, in proper military response, before signalling for the at east and saying: "Thank you, Paladin." Macello said, taking the offered report and updates, taking a moment to loosely leaf through it and browse to get the general gist of it. "All seems in order, from your work - thank you; it's well done." The Paladin would soon learn that hard, good work soon yielded rewards from Macello. As he walked, he continued listening to what the Paladin had to say. "Hm. Four moons? If I remember correctly, they're Voth, Deeb, Mev and Toprel, by name. Deeb and Mev are too small, really, to harbour much life, and are relatively useless to us in terms of colonisation..." Macello mused over it, for a moment. "Voth and Toprel, however, are bigger and are inhabited by a few hardy settlers - some of them Onderonian, I believe. Still, they're too small to be worthy of much colonisation." Macello thought over it. "Recommendation noted and accepted, Paladin; an excellent idea. As your own project, I'd like you to put together an official, detailed proposal for me regarding it."

The command headquarters on the planet were far more advanced, now, in terms of people in technology than on Macello's last visit and, after dealing with the Paladin, Macello turned to his "secret weapon", the former Alsakan scientist, Jacob Forsei. "I'm expecting humans, Dr. Forsei." Macello said, in response to the first part of the question. "I'm expecting humans - their allegiance isn't important - to be the ones to attack, if they do, on the most part. I'm expecting, possibly, the races in the Republic to attack - if you can manufacture a chemical and/or a biological agent that would kill them quickly and efficiently - I'm not choosy on how, that'd earn you your keep." Macello put forwards the next part of the plan. "I'd like you to come up with a number of different samples, so enemies can't combat them all, and I'd like you to make antidotes for us too. I'd like capsules of poison agent, highly toxic, placed in all the lakes, which we can detonate on command, and antidote one's in each lake too, which we can also detonate on command. Three different selections, vary them between the lakes. I'd also like the same distributed and buried beneath land, but away from our settlements. Make sure we have the antidotes too."

That was important; an epidemic must be able to be controlled and rectified very, very quickly, but it must still be dangerous enough for the Republic not to, if they came, recover or survive easily. Turning to the third member he'd brought to Onderon, Macello returned the salute again, eyeing over the man. Not used to taking orders, or so the others said. Macello would soon get some discipline into him. "At ease." He said, standing still as he gave his orders to Major Do'Krou. "Your job, Major, is this: I'd like you to place explosives randomly around the land away from our own settlements, as well as making sure the settlements are ready to be self destructed as a last resort - make sure it's not easy for some bumbling fool, or an enemy, to do it. The Macellinot forts will soon be up - you know the plans as to where - and the land outside will be "quarantined", so to speak. I want the explosives there. The Macellinot forts are already able to be self destructed if needed as a last resort. I'd also like you to come up with a schedule of guards and patrols, to patrol the gates of the Macellinot forts, and a security system, so people can still enter and exit the quarantined zones but no enemies." Macello breathed out, slightly heavier than normal. He was used to giving commands, but this still had been a lot of speaking.

Nodding, somewhat agreeing with the orders, Golgin brought up the communication system in his battlesuit and began to bark out orders, his voice clear, but with a keen sense of duty that would knock any sub-ordinate back into place. He was not foolish enough to disobey the Admiral, or have any of his men disrespect Macello. The Sergeant Major, at the moment, had a very large command, consisting of most of the ground troops on Ambria, and his usual command of elite troops consisting of five squads, twenty soldiers each, which he brought from Onderon. They were his pride and joy. Given the proper conditions, he believed he could hold off legions. A surprisingly strong sense of duty came over him as he spoke into the comm, it was even apparent on his stern face.

"Attention all Macellinot Fort commanders - this is Sergeant Major Do'Krou speaking. You are all to have regular patrols starting now. At each fort I want twenty men patrolling the walls, as well has four sniper teams on each wall. Two sniper teams outside the wall, as well as another twenty man squad to patrol a radius of fifty meters outside the fortresses. More details will be sent shortly," he said, slightly pausing before he continued. "I also need the Tenth and Twelfth Engineer Battalions to report to Command HQ immediately to rendezvous with my squads. Further details will be given upon arrival."

He closed his eyes, envisioning the strategy before him. He saw explosives, hidden in valleys and other choke points, reading to collapse devastating earth upon invading armies. He saw meters-deep trenches around the fortresses, creating a pressure environment for attacking soldiers. He saw putting a large amount of explosives in one area of open desert to create a sinister cloud of dust, covering his troops' counterattacks. He thought of minefields, as primitive as they were, reaping havoc and death upon ignorant soldiers. There were going to be huge mammoth walls to not allow enemy agents in - or out - of the quarantine zones. He would place explosives so numerously, and randomly, that they alone could halt an offensive. There would be special remote control devises, with surveillance, ready to explode as soon as a command vehicle went over. He would rig towns and cities, close to popular mining nodes, with uncountable amounts of explosives... perhaps some with nuclear power. The permission to detonate would only be given to the highest of the King's men, even requiring a finger print, iris scan, and 10-digit password for the King himself. The desert was dry - he would plant fake, but convincing barrels of water supplies around the desert. The water would be doused with radiation and toxins. He would make taking Ambria a living hell for those who so dared. He was sure of it, and anyone who was looking at this face at that very moment would have known so. He keenly turned around, heading out into the arid desert to follow the Admiral's orders.

''If you do not mind sir, I wish to begin filing the report on the moons straight away.'' He saluted the Supreme Admiral, before turning to the Sergant Major, a trustowrthy man, and most definitley competant, especially Macello had chosen him. He handed him the plans for the layout of explosives.

''These are only a rough guide, Sergant Major. I have heard of your skill, and i'm sure you can make Ambria a hellhole for any invaders. I'm sure you'll have many ideas for these, and please tell me if my plans seem wrong in any way, you have more experience than me. Iw ill be on my Comm.''

Ikairus turned, saltuing the Supreme Admiral again, and left, hefting his spear and shield, rifle slung across his back.

((From here, I'll catalogue each moon. Presume all the information i type is sent back to you, Storm.))

He made his way to the port, glad to be flying in lisebeth again. Stepping inside, he sat in the spherical cockpit, giving him a huge field of vision. Keying in access codes, the engines flared, lifting the unique craft from the sandy ground.

He walked out of the HQ and gave a firm, crisp salute to the soldiers before him. There were thousands upon thousands of skillful engineers before him, one hundred of the galaxy's best sniper teams, his own elite squads, along with battalions of reinforcements. He began to make his rounds, first visiting the engineering corps. He saluted the lead engineering and handed him the schematics for the mines and explosives, a combination of his ideas and the Paladin's ideas. A normal man would have sickened at the layout - the amount of explosives could eliminate an entire army. The lead engineer grunted, acknowledging that his men could get the job done fast and well.

"I have three other jobs for you, besides the laying of the explosives and mines," said Do'Krou, "I need you to place dummy water supplies throughout the desert," he said, pointing to the crates around him, "they are all in there. Make sure the men don't drink them, I did provide all of them with an antidote, however. The poison is primitive yet effective. On a large scale an army will not be able to cope with it. Next, I want you to build 2 meter deep trenches around the fortresses, about thirty-or-so meters wide. Make the trenches fifty-five meters away from the fortresses. Lastly, I want you to build thick permacrete walls around all of the quarantine zones, which you can see on your personal datapad. Make someone cannot get in or out with the proper military ID and a personalized eight-digit passcode. You have enough men to do this quite fast - all are skilled enough to make this planet the most fortified planet in the galaxy. Make sure no army will be able to take this alive. I will be checking on your progress, no doubt, " said Do'Krou, his tone Keen and icy.

He would have the rest of the battalions stay here, as all the forts were fortified enough. If any fort or mine came in jeopardy, they would get elite reinforcements. He went over to the shuttles for him and his personal squads, and began the trip to install the first explosives at a town. He wanted to oversee this personally, especially to make sure all the security needed was in place. After that, it was on to the forts to ensure the patrols.

"Sir Macello, I could think of several gases that would be of some use. Sulfur mustard gas can blister up the enemy and cause quite a few casualties. Unfortunately, those casualties are rarely fatalities and it also is detectable by sight. Phosgene causes more fatalities but it takes longer to take effect. It also is far less detectable. 3-Quinuclidinyl benzilate can cause hallucinations but like phosgene, takes several hours to take effect. Dimethyl Mercury could be used as it's rather deadly and it can penetrate even latex. It also can be dissolved in water. However, I believe it would also be somewhat slow working.

Perhaps some system could be set up where the slower acting agents are in areas further from our forces so that if the enemy lands there, they won't notice the it and by the time they arrive at near our forces, they will begin suffering the effects. Then, the faster toxins could be placed near our bases and forces. If our troops are fully covered with adequate uniforms, they should be safe from the mustard gas and then be able to defeat the suffering enemy." Jacob said thinking of what poisons he knew of and then trying to incorporate them into a strategy. He would still have to devise antidotes and means of using them without allowing them to be anywhere near the enemy. Perhaps some sort of supply train could be used. He had some understanding of logistics and perhaps could try to design a way of supplying the forts that were used.

Macello raised one eyebrow at the scientist, who seemed to be rambling on in the technical jargon that such types seemed all too fond of using. To be honest, Macello didn't really give a damn about what the substances were called, or how they specifically did their job, so long as they did it. "Dr. Forsei, I'd prefer it if they died quicker so my men do not have to expend their lives or energy even on weaker subjects. If, however, you feel that this will mean less deaths or less expenditure of enemy for my men then I advise you to take your own professional opinion on what the best method for that purpose and to carry it out. So long as it kills enemies quickly, effectively, doesn't get out unless we release it and has a quickly working antidote so we're not affected then I really do not care how it kills my men. Of course, you shall be rewarded well if your method works well. If, however, it does not, it will also be your responsibility, my good man." It wasn't quite xenophobia that led Macello to have less faith in this man than he would have done in an Onderonian, merely a fierce pride in his nation which led him to take the view that an Onderonian would be far better for any sort of job.

"Okay, I'll get the industrial lab to produce the necessary chemicals." Jacob said.

Once he said that, he found a small nook in the room to call from as not to disturb Macello and the other military leaders. It was also rather quiet which meant he could easily hear and be heard. Then, he pulled up his comm link and messaged those at the chemical plant on Onderon.

"This is scientist Jacob Forsei, I would like to order 100 tons of 2,2′-dichlorodiethyl sulfide, dimethyl mercury, phosgene, and 3-Quinuclidinyl benzilate. Also, I'd like to order a small industrial lab for use on Ambria. I believe Ambria is rich enough in minerals and life that an industrial lab would be of worth."

"Who is this?"

"This is Jacob Forsei, a new scientist working for Onderon under the command of Sir Macello."

"I see, we'll supply your request in about 2 or 3 days."

((Epic threadomancy! ))

As the ship completed it's fifteenth orbit of Ambria and its moons, Ikairus began sending information.

Voth and Toprel are the larger of the four moons, large enough for human colonisation, at least. As such, i reccomend launch bays to be deployed on the surface, along with a skeleton detatchment of ordanance.

Deeb and Mev are too small for depoyment of large forces, such as orbital launch bays. However, they are well placed as ordanance batteries. I reccomend a large spread of heavy anti-ship weapons, with seven nuclear power plants on each moon. This should suffice for providing power for the batteries.

((Now let's get this done!))

((OOC: Whoops, and cheers, MrUn.))

Macello nodded as the telegram came in. "Request granted, Ikairus. Orbital defence batteries are to be placed on all four moons, exclusively on Deeb and Mev. These are, in the majority, to be directed towards surrounding space that's not yet friendly to Onderon, however some must be aimed towards the planet itself. These must be inbuilt with an override code that I'll be able to override with my voice pattern at any moment - this means should Ambria fall then we'll be able to use the batteries on our enemies down here, however they'll still not be able to use them against us, as I can lock them out." Macello considered, for a moment. "Although the same are to be placed on Voth and Toprel, I want more placed on their too. Launch bays will be deployed there, as you say, and I want work made into the moons, to protect them in case of any orbital bombardment. Although not foolproof, it'll provide some protection. As you've suggested, a team of men with the ability to reside there on a permanent basis shall remain, with a number of starfighters and a few cruisers/frigates inside too, to help in case of attack." Macello flicked a switch. "I'm sending the specific numbers to you now. Please contact me when the orders for that to be done are complete. Progress reports too, please." Macello opened another channel.

"Dr. Forsei, how goes your work?"

"The supplies of the chemicals we need should be arriving in a few days as well as a small research lab. We'll just need some trucks, a few speeders, and various workers to plant the stores of chemicals throughout the Ambria. Actually, we'll need a lot of them to cover the planet. The research lab should require little labor to set up and with a competent staff, it should be able to develop various useful chemicals. If we can obtain an industrial lab, we should be able to supply the entire planet with useful chemicals." Jacob explained.

Ikairus nodded as ships carrying construction crews and prefab structure packs rose from the planet to meet him. To each he gave instructions, making them convert the small moons into mighty orbital batteries and ship launch bays. Construction would take a few weeks at least. verything needed to be dug into the planet itself. ''Supreme Admiral, the constructions are underway. They will take a few weeks to be finished, request permission to land'' He kept his orbit, hands hovering over the controls and switches to initiate re-entry.

Macello stepped over to the communications channel, where Ikairus voice was echoing from, first thumbing it off to reach Forsei instead. "Dr. Forsei, finish your work here before reporting to Dxun for the next stage of our fortification operation." Macello didn't bother to wait for a reply before reopening the channel with Ikairus. "Good, Ikairus. I'll make sure your work here today is remembered. Permission to land denied; there's no point. I'll meet you up in space. It's time we headed to Dxun for the third and final part of our fortification effort."

"Nice working with you all, here, gentlemen."

''And you, Sir. I'll see you at Dxun.'' Ikairus took his hands away from the re-entry console, swinging the ship around and keying in the codes for Dxun. The ship swung around gracefully, speed increasing as the ship accelerated to enter hyperspace.
