Alzoc III. Bring warm clothes and a weapon.
The message'd been brief, but accurate. Alzoc III was easily one of the coldest worlds Ariadne had ever set foot on. Wrapped up in her thermal coat, fingers clad in thick gloves... even her tail was twitching with the cold. They had lucked out, the weather was fairly clear for once. From the ridge, they could see the makeshift base pretty easily. Ariadne stared through her macrobinoculars, counting a couple of people. There was a shuttle, a few guards milling outside and a hastily-assembled wall. The rest of the base was what was remained of an old Imperial outpost, over a century old, cut into the rock.
The Talz, the indigenous species, made easy prey for slavers. Another group had set up shop there, attacking a few of the local tribes, hoping to make a killing in the Cartel-controlled worlds. Both her and Felix were there to put a stop to it... and maybe grab a little real estate. No use letting a cosy, hidden base go to waste, right?
"I count three on the outside, all armed," Ariadne said to him. "Probably quite a few more inside. They've been rounding up the locals pretty easily." The two of them against a bunch of slavers. She was sure that Felix'd probably faced worse odds. "What do you think? We try and sneak our way in?"
