On the surface, Faison is much like any other mercenary one may encounter upon the myriad of planets stretching throughout the galaxy. Tall, v-shaped, square jawline, and a stare that could penetrate durasteel, nearly everything about the man bespeaks the physical strength and discipline one may expect of a Mandalorian. From the day he could walk, his training began at the hands of his father with rudimentary reflex training couched in the form of innocent play. As he grew older, he came to learn how to aim and shoot: how to brawl and wrestle, as boys oft are quick to learn. Yet, such fond memories were cut short weeks prior to his eleventh birthday when news of his father’s death came forth, who had gotten involved in the constant conflict the different clans of Mandalore had often engaged in. Amidst it all, Faison had been taken from the only home he knew as his mother decided to return to her homeworld of Corellia. It was only until he grew older that he had learned this decision was made out of necessity, as those who were responsible for his father’s death had sought to eliminate both him and his mother, given that she was an ‘outsider’ and likely a spy.

Yet, his heritage as a Mandalorian remained intact as the man who he would come to respect and view much as his father had followed him and his mother to their new home - a kinsman by the name of D’aryc. He was a ‘brother’ of sorts to his father, as he could recall, with D’aryc being a fixture in Faison’s memories of his father as an uncle often is. True to form, D’aryc stepped in and served as the father figure Faison needed at that time, continuing his father’s responsibility to train him, and eventually marrying his mother and becoming a formal part of the family. While young Faison held a form of respect and admiration for his adoptive father, D’aryc could never replace him fully.

As Faison grew older, news streamed through regarding the war between the Jedi Order and their Exiles, with news of the Republic withdrawing from the fighting. Despite insistence on the part of his mother to remain given his young age, Faison left home to join a group of other eager young men who had decided to take it upon themselves to pick up where the Republic left off in supporting the Jedi, with the group known as ‘Krayt Company.’ As a ship belonging to the group, ready and eager to depart and play his part in events to come, he vividly recalls, to his then-surprise, the familiar face of his stepfather striding up the ramp decked in heavy armor with a blaster strapped over his shoulder. Ever the guardian, D’aryc promised Faison’s mother to bring him back alive at all costs. And so it was that both ‘father’ and ‘son’ fought together against the forces of the Exiles, until a fateful battle within the Outer Rim Campaign on the planet of Mustufar. The offensive was a disaster at first, with nearly the entire Krayt Company being decimated in the initial wave. He still recalls his father’s armored corpse burning in the lava, with Faison being pulled back onto the transport for a forced retreat by his brothers, his hand reached out as he screamed in protest. He was permitted to leave after the failed offensive, along with what remained of the Krayt Company, with small tokens of the Jedi Order’s appreciation for their service. He left for war as a hot-headed young Mandalorian eager to prove himself, and he returned to his mother on Corellia a broken soldier, with the fresh memory of his step-father burning in his armor imprinted on his mind.

After taking some time off, Faison joined the Cor-Sec Academy in Coronet, engaging in his own personal form of grief by immersing himself in the rigorous physical trials and examinations. In due course, he graduated near the top of his class and was assigned to a local precinct, where he further buried himself in his work - isolating himself from the few who remained in his life, including his mother. Eventually, his inability to cope with his grief head on led to the development of increasingly poor habits for a member of law enforcement, quickly earning a reputation as the type of officer who would sooner beat a confession out of his suspect rather than spending the time to find the truth. Consciously, it seemed that each time he neared the goal of determining who his suspect was, he relived the trauma he experienced on Mustufar. It was particularly bad when he had to handle murder cases. After serving five years on the force, he was relieved of duty after gruesomely beating a confession out of a man in a double homicide case who had actually been innocent, and had spent several years in jail before the truth emerged.

With his sense of purpose removed, and his sense of honor and respect challenged given that, in his mind, he left his adoptive father to die in the lava-strewn lakes of Mustufar, Faison fell in with several less-than-savory contacts of his from Cor-Sec, opting to pursue a life of mercenary work. From the past few years to now, Faison has engaged in a new but fruitful career in selling his skills to the highest bidder, his calloused and direct personality suiting him perfectly for most jobs required of him.

Faison is a quintessential example of ‘what you see is what you get’ in terms of the skills he brings to the table, and the manner in which he conducts himself when on the job. While he isn’t considered to be overly friendly or boisterous, among longtime companions he has been known to crack a smile and joke now and again. If men don’t talk about their feelings, then he definitely doesn’t talk about his feelings, unless he has a very strong personal bond with someone. And true to form of most others of Mandalorian descend, he holds to a personally nuanced code of honor as most individual Mandalorians often do. Chief amongst this code is - when he gives his word that he will do something, he is going to do it.

Professionally speaking, he seems to hold no real preference for who he works for or what task he is asked to do, although if the terms are stated up-front to involve wanton murder or innocent civilians, he tends to avoid such contracts.

Although he still keeps in contact with his mother and visits her on occasion, and while he regularly maintains contact with a handful of ‘professional’ contacts, he is generally considered a loner unless he absolutely must work with others. From a personal standpoint, while he presents a strong and rugged exterior, under the surface he is an emotionally and morally complex man that has much to offer should someone have the patience to get to know him. He does have a marked fault in getting involved with female counterparts he’s worked with in the past.

His psychological profile is that of a scarred human being with possibly post-traumatic stress disorder. While he’s able to maintain composure when it counts, during periods of quiet or isolation, he’s been known to have alcohol-infused emotional breaks. He always seems to wear a pendant etched with a Mandalorian symbol around his neck at all times, even when showering. This seems to hold a lot of symbolic importance for him, and offers a measure of comfort during these emotionally strenuous episodes.

It is unknown whether he maintains any contacts directly on Mandalore given his childhood and early exodus to Corellia. While he openly adheres to his Mandalorian roots over his Corellian, it appears he actively avoids venturing too close to Mandalore or its outlying colonies for unknown reasons.

PERSONALITY

Contrary to stereotype, and while Solyan strikes an imposing figure, those who meet the Jedi Knight and have the opportunity to interact with him at any sort of length find that he is extremely well composed, calm, and even pleasant to interact with.* While his physical stature is by no means superficial in the sense that he is a strong combatant, Solyan is known as a diligent student of the force, and as a tactful representative of the Jedi Order.

(*Members of the Feeorin species are often regarded as ill-tempered and quick to anger, as well as holding a propensity for self absorption to a fault.) .

BIOGRAPHY

Born on the tumultuous world of Odryn to a pair of well regarded warriors within Feeorin society, little else is known about Solyan’s life prior to his discovery by the Jedi, as he was soon whisked away when his affinity with the force was made apparent. Solyan’s earliest memories are not that of a loving mother or a strong father, but of learning the most basic fundamentals of the force at the feet of seeming ‘pillars’ within the Jedi Order - Masters that seemed near-godlike in their knowledge and power at his easily impressionable age. As he grew older, Solyan (as well as his masters) found it increasingly difficult to deal with his innate aggression which came natural to those of his race. While he would grow to learn how to control the restlessness and aggressiveness that often welled up inside of him, he would never truly be able to confront such latent urges until later in his life, on the world of Tython.

While few species are as long lived as Feeorins, such longevity meant that one of his notable contemporaries at the time was none other than Jedi Master Wyck. While the two currently stand in vastly different roles now, it seems nearly comical to think that another Jedi lives who trained in the same group of younglings, at the feet of the same instructors. Then, war broke out amongst the Jedi, with those who viewed one another as brothers forced to fight on different sides of a cataclysmic conflict. In the order’s haste to meet their Dark brothers in battle, Solyan was among hundreds of others who were made Jedi Knights (although he was close to meeting that goal on his own merit, with the war cementing the appointment.) While most Jedi in Solyan’s generation were loathe to fight this war, the Feeorin in him was in a way eager to do so. He would come face to face with the impasse presented by his nature and his Jedi upbringing on Tython.

700b18ed789903a06c2b7d5006e726af--star-wars-species-the-ojays.jpg
Both Solyan and Wyck, along with many other Jedi were dispatched to Tython in the wake of an Exile invasion, with Solyan aiding his companion in protecting fleeing padawans during the battle. As the fighting intensified, Solyan found himself separated from his companions as he was drawn further into the fighting. As he realized this, he was soon beset by more of his fallen brethren in the halls of the temple. When the odds seemed to turn against his favor, the stress of battle had caused him to succumb to his baser instincts, giving into the raw intensity and savagery those of his species are known to fight with. He was only saved from shared fate of death with the exile army by being pulled from the fighting by the last remnants of the fleeing Jedi, with clarity returning to him as his blood-lust subsided.

Shame engulfed him in the aftermath of Tython, yet Solyan had little time to address the source of his shame as the war carried on. Like many of his peers, war seemed to encompass much of their lives. It was only after the conclusion of the war with the disaster of Ilum that it seemed he had the time he needed to come to grips with not only his inner demons, but everything that had come to pass with a century of fighting. While many of his peers had died either in the fighting or in succumbing to old age, Solyan remained. And rather than settling into one of the succeeding sects of the Jedi Order that splintered in the wake of the war’s end, Solyan disappeared from the public eye. It is said he placed himself in a self imposed exile for the darkness that had almost threatened to engulf him some years past, while others claim that he embarked upon a mission of personal discovery in the hopes of reconciling who he is as a Feeorin with who he was trained to be. Regardless, for the better part of a year after the events of Ilum, few could truthfully claim to know the Jedi Knight’s whereabouts until now, as sightings have been reported with him aiding his fellow Jedi and others when he can.

POWERS AND ABILITIES
A century at war has taught Solyan a thing or two, combined with his near-one year in exile. The Feeorin Jedi’s skills are altogether balanced between skill with a lightsaber and mastery of the force, with his preferred saber forms being the powerful Djem So, and defensive Soresu, and with his skill in the force being dedicated to telekinesis and in gaining insight into others when possible. All in all, Solyan uses his skills primarily to the betterment of others as of late, and has a noted interest in learning even more about the intricacies of the force, as if to make up for the time lost during the century at war.

EQUPMENT
Eames_SideFlicker_glow1.gif
Being a loyal practitioner of the Jedi arts, Solyan carries only what is necessary. He typically wears modest brown robes indicative of his role as a Jedi Consular, and carries a lightsaber with a green kyber crystal. Apart from those items, he carries a travelers pack complete with rations, a communicator, datapad, and other simple but essential items.

Born into a wealthy family within the capital of Coronet City, Anthony Price was raised among the upper echelons of Corellian society - living a life free of want or deprivation. While such a privileged lifestyle easily results in a lack of appreciation in what one has, or a sense of entitlement (as demonstrated with Anthony’s siblings and the majority of his peers), for the most part such traits did not develop in as pronounced a fashion within Anthony as he grew to maturity. That’s not to say he’s entirely unique - after all, being raised amongst servants within a family estate would have an effect on anyone in such a circumstance, but from an early age, Anton knew that he was different and that his life was the exception rather than the norm. This consciousness was born from the scars wrought upon his home planet by the war between the Jedi Order and their fallen brothers in exile. While Anton was hardly even a thought back then, the scars which remained upon the planet lasted throughout the rest of the war. Some of Anthony’s earliest memories are that of buildings being rebuilt next to ones that would forever lay in ruins - families begging on the streets whilst those who lacked nothing ate their fill at Coronet’s finest restaurants. While the situation improved over time and families slowly rebuilt their lives, seeing such pockmarks on his homeworld spurred him to action as he reached maturity.

It was almost a given that Anthony would attend some of the finest schools money could buy, and what he did with that education was something not unsurprising, but would define his path for the future nonetheless. Nearly a decade of his life was spent in studying law, with his idealistic (and arguably naive) vision being to represent the people and force the system that promised to defend and protect the people to accomplish just that. Much to his father’s chagrin, Anthony took a comparatively lower paying, overworked position in a fledgling law firm dedicated to defending social injustice, convinced that he’d make a difference in doing so. However, experience would prove that working by a broken systems rules wouldn’t have the desired effect of changing the very same system.

Eventually, Anthony gave in to his father’s insistence in taking a position within the legal department of Czerka Corporation, of which his father was a major investor within. While at the time, he felt such a move to be a compromise from his original goal, and even a year ago he would have thought such a move unthinkable, his father promised him that Czerka had great things in store for helping to rebuild Corellia, and that his efforts could play a much bigger impact than he ever could have imagined. And despite his suspicions, Anthony could see his efforts playing a much bigger role in effective actual change. While he was under no illusions that Czerka was not guilty of shady business dealings across the galaxy, on the homefront he witnessed Czerka plying their considerable reach to provide an increasing amount of jobs for the otherwise neglected and disenfranchised - even funding local programs to support housing reconstruction and education opportunities. While a part of him still felt as if he betrayed his core values in taking his position within Czerka, he couldn’t argue with the results that a galaxy spanning behemoth could affect with their near-limitless resources.

Yet, it was only after spending several more years working for Czerka’s expansive legal team, it had seemed that the cultivation of what contacts he had in such a position afforded him a very unique opportunity - one that seemed to provide him with a medium to accomplish his age old dream which had failed so miserably. And that opportunity took the form of running for political office as Senator of Corellia. Corruption and scandal had long-permeated the political landscape of Corellia, with even the perception alone remaining from even the days prior to the war. It had seemed that Anthony’s opportunity arose at the perfect time, when the sitting senator was enduring a massive scandal involving alleged misconduct with not one, or even two, but ten different women over the course of his twenty year career as a Senator. After being forced to resign, Anthony, with the backing of his benefactors who held ties to Czerka and other major players in the Corellian business sector, announced his intent to run for office.

At first, his announcement seemed to be received with an underwhelming amount of praise. While some among the people knew of him due to his help in representing them years prior, he was altogether an unknown and generic son of a wealthy family who, as they widely perceived, just wanted a lavish job with special privilege. His opponents were, of course, quick to spread such a perception, with his initial polling placing him far below his opposition: a seasoned political lobbyist who was no stranger to the gamesmanship one had to master to compete in the political arena. Yet, Anton was not out of the ‘race’ yet.

He started small, engaging in PR campaigns at small communities, giving public speeches at town halls across the planet, speaking on a personal basis with near-endless citizens who were eager to share ‘a piece of their mind’ with someone who intended to represent them on the galactic stage. Eventually, the support he was able to rally resulted in him speaking as larger, more public rallies where his eloquence and knowledge of the system he had tried to hard to work within for the past half-decade could be heard by a broader audience. Soon, his voice could be heard on holo-broadcasts throughout the planet. His opponents were quick to say this was the byproduct of the support he was leveraging from his employers and business-sector lobbyists, yet such posturing and smear-campaigns fell on deaf ears when his rebuttals focused, not on striking back at his opponents, but on addressing the issues almost exclusively. How would he address the housing crisis? By using his exposure on the galactic stage to partner with major businesses to take the initiative to build up areas otherwise neglected in exchange for tax incentives. How would he directly help the average Corellian? By lobbying to make it easier to qualify for social programs that catered to what they needed, whilst at the same time making it easier for them to find a job to provide for themselves and their families. How could he prevent the system from being taken advantage of? By making it his personal responsibility to increasing awareness of the simple fact they were all in this effort to recovery together, and that if some didn’t want to be a part of making a difference, then they would be left behind as more jobs came onto the scene which would far outpay any entitlements that came their way the longer they drew from them.

Were his arguments and policies perfect? Political critics would be the first to say no. But the charisma he spoke to the people with made them firm in their beliefs that he would fight for them. While he couldn’t do everything he had said alone, for the first time in a long time the Corellian people felt they had a champion who, regardless of how many voices shouted in the din of the Senate, they would have at least one voice who would stand up for them. By the end of the election cycle, Anthony Price became the next Senator of Corellia by a landslide. But as he would come to realize, he was only getting started - with many more pressing and intense challenges awaiting him.

Anthony’s personality can easily be described as magnetic - he enjoys speaking to others and has a talent for making someone feel at ease while speaking with them, while at the same time projecting that they have his full, undivided attention. He is very charismatic and intelligent, and while he at times can come across as arrogant, this is obviously attributed to his upbringing, and he actively strives to fight the tendency because he genuinely wants to serve in his senatorial capacity to the best of his ability. He at times can come across as idealistic, with a prevailing viewpoint that he has a duty to represent his people and ensure their interests are considered in any circumstance he finds himself in professionally, whereas some senators may not be as zealous in maintaining their views, or may more readily present a ‘front’ to others.

While he definitely understands that in politics, one must have a strong ‘pazaak face’, and he obviously does not share all of his innermost thoughts or opinions with everyone he meets, he tends to present himself as a ‘what you see is what you get’ type of person. Whether this is how he actually is, or if this is a well practiced method of conducting himself remains to be seen. Regarding his political views, if one were to ask the question “what does good” vs “what feels good”, he would venture more so onto the “what does good” spectrum. In his younger years, fresh out of law school with a personal mission to help every single person in their unique situation, he expended himself almost exclusively in each and every case as if it were a personal mission. And yet, over the years he came to see that what simply “feels good” at the time doesn’t necessarily do good. Conversely, some of the actions performed by Czerka on Corellia were, at first, looked upon negatively as if they impugned upon the benefits of the common person. Yet, the results of many (but not all, admittedly) of those initiatives saw an increase and direct solution to the problems many such people complained about. While he still can easily be regarded as a bleeding heart amongst his contemporaries, his tenure in Czerka has done much to harden him to emotional pleas or impassioned grandstanding. In fact, in recent years he’s found that the best tactic is evaluate situations with a calm head and to step back from situations before making decisions.
