INTERDICTOR-CLASS STAR DESTROYER

AFFILIATION
ISC

MANUFACTURER
Christophsis Driveyards, Asteria Industries

CLASS
Star Destroyer

ROLE
Capital ship

COMPOSITION
Doonium and transparisteel

DIMENSIONS
Length - 1.1 kilometers.
CREW
900min/2600max

PASSENGER CAPACITY
3000

CARGO CAPACITY
8 kilotons.

HANGAR CAPACITY
  • 24x starfighter/light starbomber.
  • 4x shuttle/light freighter.

CONSUMABLES
1 standard year.

SPEED/MANEUVERABILITY
The Interdictor-class star destroyer has a top speed of 50 MGLT and has sluggish maneuvering characteristics.

ARMAMENT

EQUIPMENT

DESCRIPTION
The Interdictor-class star destroyer is a specialized warship once manufactured by Sienar Fleet Systems. Not intended to operate independently, as are most star destroyers, the Interdictor serves mainly as a platform for its 4 large gravity well projectors, which are capable of wrenching ships out of hyperspace, as well as preventing nearby vessels from using their hyperdrives to flee a given combat zone. They are extremely useful craft to have for blockade operations, and for dealing with the "hit-and-hype" tactics often used by guerilla forces and insurgencies. They are typically meant to be supported by other vessels in combat.

Aside from their one standout feature, however, Interdictors are very lightly armed and sparsely crewed for their size. Most of their internal space is devoted to the gravity well projectors and their associated systems, leaving very little room or power for anything else. Conventional armament consists of just 20 quad medium laser turrets, and the ship's hangar can carry 24 starfighters or light starbombers. The ship's crew consists of just 2,850 personnel, along with about 4,000 passengers. 10 kilotons of cargo can be carried, along with a standard year's worth of consumables.

In the present day, Interdictors are as rare as any other star destroyer, if not rarer. Due to their specialized role, sectors which can afford to maintain them typically have their Interdictor permanently stationed above an important planet. Many Interdictors which remain in service have not even changed orbits in decades, and are likely to have had their hyperdrives decommissioned in order to save on maintenance costs. They are still formidable vessels when used correctly, however, and are the bane of smugglers and revolutionaries alike.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Interdictor-class star destroyers are classified as capital ships under Galactic law, and possess powerful weapons. As such, civilian owners will require extra licensing to operate one legally, and will receive increased scrutiny by authorities. Even then, they are ridiculously expensive to operate; only a relatively large faction or particularly wealthy government would be able to afford it without swiftly bankrupting themselves. An individual would stand no chance.

INTENT
To create a standard interdiction vessel.

RESTRICTIONS
Interdictor cruisers are large capital ships with turbolasers along with very advanced and specialized equipment, and capital ships cannot be owned or operated by individual characters. A faction would be required to obtain and crew a ship of this size.

EQUIPMENT
  • x1 Class 1 Hyperdrive; x1 Class 11 Backup
  • x1 Path Engine
  • x1 Navicomputer (backup)
  • x1 heavy deflector screen generator
  • x1 long-range sensor suite
  • x1 long-range communication suite
  • x1 dedicated holo-conferencing suite
  • x4 docking ring with integrated docking tube and hull-cutting tools
  • Many x escape pod

DESCRIPTION
Recently developed in the design rooms linked to the Christophsis driveyards, the Thorne's Endeavour line of starships was begun as a project to ensure that the ISC Navy would, eventually, no longer need to rely on exports to supply it's own ships. Named after the first president of the ISC, the TE line of ships covers everything from Cruisers to Starfighters and everything in between. Currently developed and produced exclusively by the shipyards above Christophsis, this will be expanded to other ISC shipyards as they become available. After contracting with Asteria Industries, large command and other capital ships went into the process of refitting for the path engine. Due to its size and capacity, the path engine has been modeled to accommodate for such war vessels in the ISC navy.

Based around the current composition of the ISC fleets, the TE-4 Command Carrier is set to replace the Arquitens-Class Command Frigate as something of a central point in ISC fleets going forward. By reducing power draw for some of the weapons and re-configuring the ship to not have to comply by triangular Imperial design principles, a rear-facing hanger bay was able to be included within the TE-4 to make it something of a light frigate and light carrier combination.

Despite it's complement and it's firepower, however, the main purpose of the TE-4 is to command the fleet it finds itself in and to help do this there are complex sensor and communication suites, alongside a holo-conferencing suite for reports back to HQ. Alongside this, line of sight was increased with a bridge that is higher with much better range of views than most other ships.

It is these changes, however, that mean the TE-4 is not quite as good a carrier or a frigate as it could be, sacrificing being a master of either one to be proficient at both. Alongside this, the raised bridge is both an advantage for command and a massive drawback as it is, without doubt, the single biggest weak point on the ship. This last weakness is to be downplayed due to the ship carrying it's own fighter screening elements and being part of a fleet but it is still very noticeably an issue.

Typical of many ISC ships and the principles behind them again, the TE-4 Command Carrier is designed to be crewed by a mixture of both organic and droid crew-members. Overall command of the ship and its weapons systems are controlled by organics, while navigation and engineering see an increased number of droid crew-members.

LEGALITY
Restricted. TE-4 Command Carriers are classified as capital ships under Galactic law, and possess heavy weapons. As such, civilian owners will require extra licensing to operate one legally, and will receive increased scrutiny by authorities.

INTENT
The intent is to make a ship that serves as both a command vessel and light carrier for the ISC Navy, suiting it's focus on mobility and co-ordination. The ship has been refitted to hold the path engine.

RESTRICTIONS
Yes. TE-4 Command Carriers are large capital ships, therefore these that cannot be owned or operated by individual characters. A faction would be required to obtain and crew a ship of this size. Produced by and for the ISC alone, this would be faction-specific tech.

The second creation specifically for the ISC Navy, the TE-2 was designed to be a partner to the TE-1 as well as a capable warship in it's own right. On it's own, the reduced weaponry makes the TE-2 less potent in a fighter than it's predecessor but it makes up for it by packing in a slightly over-sized fighter complement for it's category as a cruiser. Because of this, room was taken back from the power and cargo holds to enable the use of four separate hanger bays, each slightly smaller than average but equally out at roughly twice the size usually seen on a cruiser it's size.

Slightly cheaper to make than the TE-1 because of the reduction in firepower and power needed for the ship itself, the TE-2 is expected to be seen in service more often than the TE-1. Of course, some of this cost will be pushed onto the cost of fighters to fill the hanger bays but this was deemed an acceptable cost. Typical of many ISC ships and the principles behind them again, the TE-2 Carrier/Destroyer is designed to be crewed by a mixture of both organic and droid crew-members. Overall command of the ship and its weapons systems are controlled by organics, while navigation and engineering see an increased number of droid crew-members.

LEGALITY
Restricted. TE-2 Carrier/Destroyers are classified as capital ships under Galactic law, and possess heavy weapons. As such, civilian owners will require extra licensing to operate one legally, and will receive increased scrutiny by authorities.

INTENT
Intent is to bring in a ship made by the shipyards created by the ISC around Christophsis in order to start making ships of their own and no longer need to focus so heavily on imported ships.

RESTRICTIONS
Yes. TE-2 Carrier/Destroyers are large capital ships, therefore these that cannot be owned or operated by individual characters. A faction would be required to obtain and crew a ship of this size. Produced by and for the ISC alone, this would be faction-specific tech.

Named after the first president of the ISC, the TE line of ships covers everything from Cruisers to Starfighters and everything in between. Currently developed and produced exclusively by the shipyards above Christophsis, this will be expanded to other ISC shipyards as they become available.

As implied by the designation, the TE-1 Destroyer was the first ship fully designed as part of this process and was designed to be the biggest, heaviest, ship within the ISC Navy. This is both by the nature of ISC fleets being more mobility focused and because it is the single largest class of ship currently capable of being produced by the Christophsis shipyards. After contracting with Asteria Industries, large command and other capital ships went into the process of refitting for the path engine. Due to its size and capacity, the path engine has been modeled to accommodate for such war vessels in the ISC navy.

The TE-1 Destroyer was built to be quite agile and spritely for it's size to better fit in with the principle behind ISC fleet composition as well, though in order to achieve this without sacrificing raw firepower, the decision was made to utilize the space that would have been saved for a hanger bay and use it for extra engine and power core space instead. Typical of many ISC ships and the principles behind them again, the TE-1 Destroyer is designed to be crewed by a mixture of both organic and droid crew-members. Overall command of the ship and its weapons systems are controlled by organics, while navigation and engineering see an increased number of droid crew-members.

  • 1x long-range sensor suite.
  • 1x long-range communication suite.
  • Many x docking ring with integrated docking tube.
  • Many x escape pod.

DESCRIPTION
Designed in tandem with the TL-1 Dreadnought, the TL-2 Battlecruiser was always designed to become more of a workhorse than the TL-1. Rather than being designed to be amongst the most powerful ships in the Galaxy, the TL-2 Battlecruiser was designed to be amongst the most powerful ships in any given battle. Designed in partnership by Gyndine and Christophsis Driveyards, the TL-2 was designed to match the New Republic's Starhawk III-Class Battleships and the Sith's Resurgent-Class Star Destroyer.

While not currently directly combatting either ship when designed and manufactured, the belief of the design team and ISC leadership was that it was better to be prepared for such a horrible war than to be caught flat-footed by it.

Inspiration for the design was taken from both the TE-series of ISC battleships and the Bothan Assault Cruiser, in tandem with the TL-1 Dreadnought. Though currently limited in numbers compared to the Republics or Empires of old, the TL-2 Battlecruiser can be produced by other shipyards within the ISC, including Corellia and other core-world based shipyards - something that hinders the TL-1 Dreadnought's own production speed and limits.

It is common to see the TL-2 Battlecruiser within Three-Fold Fleets and Core Defence fleets within the heartlands of the ISC as part of the ISC Navy. Plans to roll it out as the standard battleship for the ISCCT are also underway. After contracting with Asteria Industries, large command and other capital ships went into the process of refitting for the path engine. Due to its size and capacity, the path engine has been modeled to accommodate for such war vessels in the ISC navy.

LEGALITY
Restricted. TL-2 Battlecruisers are classified as capital ships under Galactic law, and possess heavy weapons, making them difficult or impossible for civilians and even small factions to own. To date, however, this has been a non-issue, as they are exclusively sold to the ISC Navy by their manufacturer.

INTENT
To give the ISC its own, modern, capital warship. Updated to accommodate path engines.

RESTRICTIONS
TL-2 Battlecruisers are large capital ships with heavy weapons, and capital ships cannot be owned or operated by individual characters. They are currently exclusive to the ISC faction.

DESCRIPTION
Designed by the ISC-native partnership of Gyndine and Christophsis Driveyards, the TL-1 was the first of two larger scale capital ships commissioned by the ISC Secretary of Defence and President Thorne himself. As the larger of the two designs, the TL-1 was given the most care and attention and many designers spent much of their overtime hours stressing and fretting over it in their patriotic passion to see the ISC capable of battling at the highest levels. Due to the sheer size and complexity of the ships, designers and teams were brought in from Mon Cala and from Bothawui to lend their assistance.

The overall design of the dreadnought was styled after the Bothan Assault Cruiser but with the aim of bulking it up to be within the same class as the Viscount-Class Star Defender of the Mon Calamari. Weaponry aboard the TL-1 was focused on matching that of the Excalibur-Class Super Star Destroyer as they were seen as the measuring stick for modern ships of the same class.

No expense was spared in making sure that the TL-1 could function both as the proverbial "biggest stick" and as a command vessel from which the newly remodeled and retooled Three-Fold Fleets could be commanded from. Part of this flexibility was accounted for by utilizing the sheer size of the TL-1 in order for it to carry several small frigates, assault ships, shuttles, starfighters and starbombers. The idea being that the TL-1 should become a small fleet within a fleet, with the associated ships tasked with the sole job of protecting and supporting the TL-1 while it co-ordinates the rest of the fleet. After contracting with Asteria Industries, large command and other capital ships went into the process of refitting for the path engine. Due to its size and capacity, the path engine has been modeled to accommodate for such war vessels in the ISC navy.

Currently the TL-1 Dreadnoughts brought into service are the "Thorne's Legacy" (the first produced and class-namer), the "Confederacy's Star" and the "Independence". They each serve as the flagship for one of the Three-Fold Fleets that operate within the traditional home territories of the ISC - plans are in place to roll out second production runs to serve within the ISCCT but the core-worlds were deemed less essential than the heartland of the ISC.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Like the Super Star Destroyers of the Sith, the TL-1 Dreadnoughts are classified as capital ships under Galactic law, and possess heavy weapons, making them difficult or impossible for civilians and even small factions to own. Their use is heavily monitored by ISC leadership as well.

INTENT
To give the ISC a dreadnought-class, super star destroyer style, ship to tote as the biggest gun in their arsenal. Also updating the ships for refitting with the Path Engine.

RESTRICTIONS
TL-1 Dreadnoughts are large capital ships with heavy weapons, and capital ships cannot be owned or operated by individual characters. They are exclusive to the ISC faction. Due to the size of these ships they are only able to be operated by those granted explicit permission by the FL of the ISC. These can be revoked at any time if not used in the correct manner as deemed by FL/Staff. There currently exists only THREE of these ships in the galaxy. With a max production of one ever one in TL year, but this is to be decided by FL/Staff.
