Well, Jerex plan didn't seem to work, the blind jedi's resistance to pain was noted and, well, Jerex couldn't help but respect that a little, pain resistance was something the old legionnaire also had built during his training as a sith and he knew just how tough it was to not fall to the ground after being hit with such lightning. However, the force was also his dominion, and even if the blind jedi was good at seeing things, using the force to attack a precise, small part of another force sensitive required effort, and effort could be picked up on, specially by another one that considered himself an expert at using the force. So, once he started noticing what he was going for, Jerex quickly stopped using the lightning and redirecting his focus and his call on the force towards defense, using a combination of telekinesis and force endurance to protect himself against the telekinetic attack.

Of course, that meant the jedi was free from the lightning and could use the force to retreat, Jerex let out a small chuckle as he retreated, even if the grenade attempt was quite foolish, the blind jedi did have some fighting spirit in him and went for a move that could've killed the old sith without a second thought, quite merciless for a jedi. "That was quite interesting, but you should listen to mister..." Jerex looked at Flood, who didn't even have the decency to tell them his name yet "Well, he hasn't really told me his name, but his work here is quite interesting so keeping it safe is a priority, I'll stand watch"

Nara was filled with triumph as she felt the rancor keel over, leaving a sizzling hole in it's head. She withdrew her saber and took a deep breath, shivering. Followed by a good, hard kick to see if the thing was actually dead.

"Hoooooooly crap I did it," she muttered in disbelief, before her eyes scanned around the room. Nothing but bones and corpses. A complete dead end. Waste of time. Trust her luck to have chosen the worst path to go down. Anger flared up inside her, but she quashed it as best she could. It was useless when there was still something to stop. She closed her eyes and reached out with the Force, trying to feel anything within the ridiculous warrens of the sewers and this strange complex. She felt familiar presences deeper in... and darkness too. Whoever was responsible could still be close by.

Then she noticed Minerva was injured and rushed over to her, feeling neglectful. Kneeling down, she looked over the Mandalorian and saw... well, nothing, aside from scraped armour. There was still a lot of pain there, though. "Hold still," she ordered, taking her hand. It was the easiest way through all that Beskar... and even then, Nara didn't know if it could work. But she focused, closed her eyes and breathed deep, as she drew some of that pain into herself, pushing a little of her energy into Minerva to help her continue.

She winced as she took on that pain, feeling it shudder and reverb through her body. The Mando had obviously had a rough time of it. When she released her hand, Nara stared at her.

"Can you use your jetpack still? I need to get back up there," she asked firmly.

The Padawan kicked the circle he had made in the door and the result was a hole that he could walk through. Before doing so, Isen looked over his shoulder and gave a nod to Izel Thral, his mentor and teacher. He looked into a simple room as he stepped through the hole he had carved and immediately was drawn to the person on the bed. Isen's eyes circled the room and reached out with the Force to sense if he might be alone with whoever this was before approaching.

The beeps and wires that connected this individual to medical machines and the slow, labored breathing, allowed Isen to discern that they were in dire straits. Further, as Isen approached he noticed that this humanoid was badly beaten and disfigured. Whether by battle, torture, or something else, Isen couldn't tell. Futher inspection and he saw the straps. Isen assumed it was a prisoner, tortured.

The young Kiffar approached, carefully inspecting the specimen, currently asleep or comatose. He tried to read the machines, obviously showing vitals, but he wasn't versed enough to know what all they meant. Things looked bleak, but steady. Phlegm or blood caught in the throat of the body strapped to the bed. The beeping sped up, but the gurgling ended quickly and the machines seem to stabilize again. "You must be important. I assume that beast outside was meant to protect someone like me from getting to you." The Padawan would do his best to reach out with the force, speaking aloud as well as to the mind should that work. Asking basic questions, simply trying to get a response. "Who are you...How can I help you...What is your name..."

The Padawan was young, untested. He had always had Izel Thral for guidance. This was uncharted for him. As he asked these basic questions, he could only hope for a response.

Her aim was true more so than anticipated. Minerva grinned at the rancor’s pain. It quickly transformed into worry as the beast in the midst of its torment began to stomp on the ground. The Mandalorian jumped out of the way as one foot slammed into the spot where she had just stood.

Rolling to the side she looked up, ready to shoot for the other eye out. Yet to her surprise the bull rancor collapsed on its back shaking the ground. For a moment Minerva just sat there, examining the now dead monster. A noble kill. Just the thought of this accomplishment swelled her soul with pride.

I’m applying for a rancor’s signet once this madness is over.

Subsequently the floor shook once more. Turning around Minerva saw Nara jump off from her beastly opponent, slain by lightsaber through the brain. Then without warning the adrenaline wore off and the pain increased as she sat amongst crushed bones, gritting her teeth more and more. The Jedi rushed over to her side, causing the armored warrior to tense up.

When Nara told her to stay still, Minerva titled her helmeted head in puzzlement. Before she could demand an answer it came as the knight closed her eyes and took a deep breath. In that very moment, Minerva felt the agony lessened somewhat.

Immediately the merc realized what just happened and sighed. On one hand she felt shame that the force was used to heal her though on the other did Nara did just help. Reluctantly Minerva gave a nod, silently expressing her gratitude and...some newfound respect.

Once the Jedi asked her question, she answered. “I believe so. C'mon let’s get going.” Saying Minerva stood up, retriving her fallen blaster rifle. Then taking one of Nara’s hands she flew them out of the pit though with difficulty and a bit of pain.

Minutes later they descended onto the floor outside the left door.

Izel nodded back to her apprentice before he left. She worried for him, but there wasn't much she could do. Their mission needed to be accomplished, and time was of the essence. She felt confident he would rise to the occasion. Of course, that didn't mean she was just going to sit around and wait for him to do all the work. The Vratix took a deep breath and centered herself, beginning to meditate.

Despite the great darkness pervading this place she was able to focus her thoughts. Slowly her wounds began to close up, though there was only so much damage she could repair on her own. It would take many days to get back to full strength. For now, she was doing only what was necessary to get her up and moving again.

While she healed herself a part of her focus remained on her Padawan, following him into the next room. Thankfully he wasn't that far. She could sense another presence in the room as well. Faint and weak. Not a Sith then, though they carried enough pain and misery to be of the dark side. Taking a deep breath she spoke through the Force, trying to connect with Isen. "We haven't much time..." She warned him. Even now she could feel other presences elsewhere in the tunnels. Dark and powerful, and growing closer. "If they can move, take them... If they can't... Make your questions quick..." She desperately wanted to be in there, but her wounds still ached terrible and only grew worse when she tried to move. For the moment she focused all her energy on the healing process.

Salek ran back through the main sewer tunnel, mind scanning out for anything to help. The sewers weren't well maintained, but they weren't completely decrepit either. Between his bad vision and his rush, he couldn't spot any nooks or rubble piles that would realistically hide him. Then he came upon the dead Gamorreans. There was still enough life in their fading cells that he spotted them easily.

The Jedi dropped into a slide near the biggest concentration of chopped-up bodies and Force-pulled them over on top of him. The cauterized wounds made them smell disturbingly delicious, but he didn't have time to be weirded out by that thought. He lay still beneath the bodies and tried to breathe as quietly as he could, listening and peering through the Force to try and find any pursuers.

He'd lost his lightsaber. Three Sith - three! - and he'd just walked right up to them like a moron. He wanted to thrash himself for his stupidity, he wanted to strangle Tavano for giving him a fake bomb, but he couldn't yet. Force users would pick up on those emotions like bloodhounds. He tucked the anger away for later, giving it a quiet place in the very back of his thoughts. For now, he had to survive.

He pulled out his comm. They tended to be loud, but he turned its volume all the way down and stuck the speaker against his ear. "Tavano," he whispered quietly into it.

"You know how I feel about being called that," his Master's flat voice responded.

"Yes I do," Salek replied in the exact same tone.

"Hm. What's your status?"

"Dying, thank you for asking. I'm in the sewers, not sure where."

"Don't worry, your tracker's working fine," Lentus said. "I'm almost docked and ready to unload passengers, then I'll be back to pick you up. Get anything useful?"

"Working on it," Salek felt the growl in his voice. "Don't take the scenic route."

He switched the comm off and slid back out from under the pig pile. The tunnels behind him had felt clear, inside the walls and out. If any Sith were coming after him, they were good enough that it wouldn't matter if he was hiding, and he'd rather not be stabbed while cowering under a bunch of dead bodies. Besides, the first creatures had found tunnel entrances, and he got the feeling they wouldn't stop when their free meal began shrieking.

He was stuck between two bad options. One way, a mob of bloodthirsty killers. The other way, a trio of bloodthirsty killers. But at least the second option had the potential for allies, not just a lonely struggle against a flood of angry claws and clubs.

Salek started back toward the Sith lair at a jog, footsteps as quiet as he could make them. He pulled in his Force presence until he could only see a tight bubble around him and a dozen meters ahead, hoping that it would be a small enough signature that the Sith wouldn't pick up on it. When he got to the tunnel's original three-way branch, he could feel life signs approaching from the left.

When Nara and Minerva exited the tunnel, they saw the blind Jedi from before. His armor and clothes were scorched in several places, and he was covered in ashy soot and bodily fluids. He gave them a shy wave and gestured them to duck down and be silent.

"Center tunnel," he whispered. "Evil lair. Three Sith at least. Two are heavily armed. And we have to hurry, the infected are closing in fast."

As it turned out, the Jedi couldn't handle both keeping a hold on his lightsaber and dealing with the masked Sith's lightning. Paying little attention to the Jedi's attack and Jerex's defense, he deftly caught the Jedi's weapon in his left hand, briefly examining it while the Jedi fled. Wolfgang had little interest in the Jedi himself. He placed the hilt in a rear belt pouch when the the other two began speaking.

Wolfgang turned his head to look at them, the pale gentleman and the masked man. They definitely fit the bill, and based on the verbiage of the pale one it was his lab. How interesting. Wolfgang chose to interpret what he said as a friendly suggestion as opposed to orders to obey and turned back toward the lab, long-striding his way through the doors. A flick of his hand and the Force triggered the console, opening the doors to the inside once again.

"Certainly. That would be a shame, wouldn't it?" he replied conversationally as he departed, leaving the folding chair behind. There would be time for questions later, he supposed. The rats in the maze needed to be dealt with first, and Wolfgang's entire reason for being here would be rather pointless if the pale man's work was lost to the invaders.

Wolfgang returned swiftly to the inside of the lab and quickly located the glass case of carbonite-cooled vials. He went through the procedures to cycle out the carbonite gas and transferred the vials to a secure, small, metal-coated travel case that would keep them cool for the trip. It would take a little time, but Wolfgang would be quick about it if not hasty. He valued the vials more than the few extra seconds the other two Sith might be at risk. The scientist behind it was valuable as well, but only as a convenience. Wolfgang would happily leave with the vials and without their creator if that was necessary.

When he was done he removed his medkit from its belt pouch and replaced it with the case of vials, secreted safely away, and began to head back to the other two Sith. That blind Jedi had been a fool, but there were doubtless other Jedi around, and Wolfgang knew well the saying about birds and feathers.

@Versok @Logan

At first, it would appear as if @Isen Ramm's words were falling on deaf ears. The being in the bed remained motionless as the young padawan approached, its eyes still closed and the pallor of death on its face. As Isen came so close that he nearly touched the bedside, the being would suddenly and violently take a deep, raspy breath in like it had just nearly drown and had finally come up for air.

The being's eyes widened suddenly and it stared straight at Isen's face, as if not just seeing him, but seeing past him, through him into the very core of what he was. And what the being found there offered it contentment, like seeing a friendly face after lifetimes of wading through crowds of strangers.

In his mind's eye Isen would hear and see the being as it used to be. A tall humanoid man with pointed ears, clothed in the typical garb of a Jedi. A lightsaber hung from his hip.

It's been so long I thought that no one would ever find me. My name is Hynsa Bekk. Hynsa would pause for a moment, as the happiness of finally seeing another living soul that wasn't blackened with the darkside waned and was replaced with tense worry. I don't have much time, you must listen to me carefully. The monster responsible for the plague ravaging this place must be stopped at all costs. There was something about my blood that was special to him. He's been harvesting it for many years, using it to mutate his experiments and somehow imbue them with the force.

The image in Isen's mind would flicker a little, like a lightbulb about to go out. You must succeed at any cost. You have to kill me and then find him and destroy him. The monster will try to escape with his precious experiments. You cannot let that happen. The image of the Jedi would flicker several more times before beginning to fade. Help me - help us all - young Jedi. You're this galaxy's only hope.

With that, Isen would once again find himself standing at the beside of the desiccated Hynsa Bekk. He had a choice to make.

--

As @Minerva Fhirdiad, @Salek Fallanai, and @Nara Allam became suddenly reunited, they too would find themselves with an important choice to make, however different from Isen's it might be. In the distance they would be able to hear what would sound like the clapping of thunder, but would soon distinguish itself as the stampeding footsteps of countless infected beasts storming their way through the sewers.

It would take time for the beasts to come, but the trio's time for choice making was short. Would they face the Sith head on, find their compatriots, or attempt to slice their way through the sea of monsters?

Perhaps in the end they would have no choice at all.

--

In the back of his mind, Flood knew there was no fathomable reason he could just leave the Jedi and whatever friends he had left live. Even if he did manage to escape Nar Shaddaa with his vials, the Jedi would be aware of his existence. They would hunt him like a pack of ravenous wolves - he couldn't have that. His experiments took months to set up, a delicate art he couldn't manage with filthy Jedi breathing down his neck.

No, it was time to end this. Igniting his lightsaber, Flood would motion for @Jerex Dorn to follow him - figuring @Cyrus Anvari would be smart enough to catch up should he return and not find them waiting.

It would take several minutes for Flood and Jerex to find the trio of Salek, Minerva and Nara. More than enough time for Isen and Izel to meet up with their friends if that was the choice they made.

Flood himself would not even bother to disguise his approach. The truth of the situation, at least in Flood's mind, was that these gnats would offer him no contest. He was rarely incorrect.

As the Forgotten spoke, it became clearer that the possession is imperfect. Something about the Jedi padawan continued to seep through what should have been total control. The Dathomiri spirit was about turn towards the glowing pool, to force Altina to drink more of its contents, when they were interrupted by the worm that broke the Forgotten's sarcophagus.

Her lightsaber came back to hand, this time with its purple blade ignited, in anticipation of what was to follow.

The surprise of the woman's arrival drew his attention away from the stranger that had been walking ahead. When the zabrak's lightsaber ignited the Mandalorian's right hand turned into a fist for a moment. Looking at him from behind the visor, the lieutenant knew that if the red saber wielder wanted to actually attack with the weapon he would need to get closer. But he didn't advance and neither did Roland. The Zabrak's threatening posture was towards the Dathomiri witch but Roland debated whether or not dealing with the Sith in front of him. He definitely wasn't turning his back on an obvious dark sider with a drawn weapon.

Instead the others headed in another direction led by the strange local. Roland's helmet didn't turn away from the Sith, lingering and clearly looking him up and down. How many people has the Sith killed? How many will he hurt in his coming lifetime? Roland didn't go with Indy and the others. Of course the man would keep his lightsaber out since the Mandalorian remained. Roland didn't move from his position facing the dark sider with an outstretched red blade. That has to be tiring. He knew how much a lightsaber felt in his own hands after all. The Lieutenant didn't ask him to put the weapon down or that he was under arrest. The elegantly carved and detailed cross visored helm stared back at the partially cybernetic Zabrak silently.

After the Coruscant prison break he had been meaning to check in on the navigation coordinates taken from that sith astromech. Not too long after that Roland had traveled to Bal'demnic, inside the sith temple with @Dr Ilana Morata . There were things that the dathomiri temple was beginning to bring remind him of that place. The anger, the aggression...The darkness.

The Mandalorian had come to the conclusion it was the dark side. He had witnessed enough and it wasn't so hard to believe. Roland was an angry man even if he didn't like to admit it openly. At least he couldn't lie to himself after Bal'demnic. Hopefully that level of defiance had been helping him resist the influences the Forgotten had attempted and now made sure he didn't fall victim to more violent urges.

Malleus held his lightsaber ignited as the others departed, all but one of them. The Mandalorian, the one that got to the top of the cliff before all of them now stood several feet away from him and eyed the hooded Zabrak. He could feel his glare even through the visor of the man's helmet. There was no Force in this individual and Malleus eyed him with a look of disinterest. ''What ? You have a problem ?'' the mechanized voice of the hulking figure filled the air around them as the Zabrak spoke his lightsaber still ignited though held lower, the tip of it's blade pointing to the ground. Still unsure of the Mandalorians intentions and why he decided to stare him down instead of either escaping the place or following that new witch.

An incoming message from the Doctor was heard and acknowledged. +roger roger+ The Hex decreased speed significantly since it seemed the skies were under control for the time being. Following the directions of the client it sounded like she had things under control on her end despite the strain in her voice. "Testing...this is breaking news...." His voice modulating slightly as he circled back around, once again passing by the wrecked CorSec gunship. The words were to himself and no other purposes than to run diagnostics on his vocabulator range.

The vehicle was not destroyed enough for N4-X4 to think it's contents were all dead. For now he maintained a safe distance. Scanning keeping an eye out for other possible threats was the most logical thing to do at this point.

Helen stuck close to Hannibal as she watched the newcomer deliver her address, the fact that she was present for the interplay of forces far beyond her current understanding becoming more and more apparent with every passing moment. She stared up at the worm-thing as it burst from the mountain, and then gouged back into it as if compelled, its movement through stone seeming to Helen akin to the breaching of the great sea serpents that inhabited her own world.

The blaster she carried suddenly seemed a pitiful tool, and the Lepi glanced enviously at the lightsabers her companions wore. She had never considered herself to have any great skill with a blade, and indeed, she preferred to fight from outside an enemy's reach, but there were possibilities for such a weapon...

Not having one would not stop the Lepi from pitting herself against the very obvious forces of darkness, however.

The Lepi turned the newcomer, a dangerous gleam in her eye.

"Just what can we expect once we're inside? What can that... shade throw at us, besides her thralls?"

Maeve listened carefully, but the answer the spirit gave was not one she appreciated. It was vague and being told the only reason they were present was to stop it was not good enough for the dark woman. Maeve suspected a game though with the Dathomir Spirit, a power flex that only she knows what to do and no one else could possible fathom such realities and only be her followers. However, she drank and yet can still feel the power of Dathomir to obey. Her lips pursed into a scowl behind her mask as the spirit moved to her own question, but she paused, there was something not only in the Force, but the rumbling of the entire structure also as a massive worm-like creature burst through ceiling.

The Sith sought for her own self-preservation, jumping to the far end of the room to avoid being flattened by the beast. However, it would not spare her from the Spirit tearing the creature apart and being covered in the goo and moist worm chunks that now covered the tomb. She felt the rage from the Spirit, but inside, she felt her own rage and disgust in being covered in such filth. It was another mental reminder to Maeve as to why she did not go temple hunting because of this nonsense.

But the rage of the Spirit unsettled the soul of Dathomir and Maeve struggled under the weight, but ignited her red saber, the influence of the ichor still pulsed through her body as she watched the second half of their unusual party come from the other side of the worm tunnel.

"You must succeed at any cost. You have to kill me and then find him and destroy him. The monster will try to escape with his precious experiments. You cannot let that happen. Help me - help us all - young Jedi. You're this galaxy's only hope."

That was awful lot to put on the shoulders of a Padawan. The galaxy's only hope? This was a lot more serious than he had imagined, and he lacked the wisdom and experience to do the right thing. He looked back at the hole he created that would lead to the room where his Master, Izel Thral laid. She was healing, and Isen had no idea how long that would take or what shape she might be in. The Padawan stood over the tortured and tormented Jedi and considered his words. Hynsa Bekk had asked him to kill him to preserve the galaxy. To that end, Isen took one of his lighstabers and held the hilt over the chest of the battered Jedi and prepared to ignite. In a short instant, he could put Bekk out of his misery and, presumably, help to save the galaxy.

"What am I doing?" Isen asked himself. He put the lightsaber away and took a step back. "No. I can't kill an innocent person, especially a Jedi. We'll have to take care of the mad scientist responsible for this. Besides," the young Padawan said looking back toward the room where Izel Thral was still healing, "if we can get Master Thral in here, maybe she can patch you up, hmm?"

Isen immediately began looking for a door or another exit that might lead him to this mad scientist. The young Jedi figured he wouldn't have the same moral dilemma putting his lightsaber blade through him.

Unfortunately, Renfry had not remained to answer questions. She had already taken a great risk in helping them this far, though they likely didn't know the true extent.

She has great power. If you do not sever her physical connection to this world quickly she will kill you, a voice rang out in the Leppi's mind. Though the Nightsister was gone, it seemed that her aid was not completely removed. Perhaps they would find more way she might help them in the coming battle.

And a battle it would be. The Forgotten inside the room could sense them and knew what they were doing. She reached out a hand and pointed to the hole with a commanding gesture.

Do not let them near the coffin, she said, urgently and still with rage below the surface. Though she knew that ordering them to engage their friends was precarious, she couldn't allow the intruders to go unpunished. The Forgotten knew that the ichor's hold on their minds was still... solidifying.

Things had been moving so fast for Felix he barely had time to process one thing before next one would come, everything since drinking had felt wrong, his will wasn't completely is own, he had feelings that weren't there before all this lead to a sense confusion in him.

Felix lifted his arm to protect his face from the blood and guts of the worm that spayed across the room when the forgotten tore it in half if she could do that with seemingly little effort, how do they expect to defeat her.

Felix felt the compulsion to follow the forgottens order, he tried to resist it, not wanting to be involved in this anymore but he still followed the order. He activated his lightsaber, it's orange blade illuminating the area around him. guarded the coffin

"Please stop this... I... I don't want to hurt you! His voice tremored addressing those that came towards him, his breathing shallow and fast. His lightsaber pointing towards them, his whole body tensed.

"Several." He said simply at first. The swirling storm beyond the Zabrak didn't seem like an easy thing to brave. If he wanted to venture in that direction and face the dangers of the planet the Sith would probably escape. If it hadn't been for the storm he could have told the Ranger forces in orbit to make any escape difficult. But that wasn't an option at this point. "...but putting your weapon down and laying on your stomach will be a good start."

Dathomir

Giant worms.

A spiteful ghost claiming there was a darkness to this planet.

A vanishing witch woman. And Roland not joining them.

The thing that broke her heart, though?

Witnessing Max willing to raise his lightsaber to her. Willing to fight her because of some ghost. So she did the only thing she could to fight back.

She came back. She came back down hard. Cushioning the blow with the Force, she landed on booted feet on the sarcophagus lid, blade humming to life midfall and holding it up in a defensive stance. Golden eyes took it all in. The lit lightsabers. The ghost. Her people and Extra Crispy. And she steeled her expression.

"Hello, boys. I'm back!" she bit out, a grim smile touching her features. "Hans, Longears! Get your asses down here, we've got morons to save," she quipped out. But then Felix said something, and the smile dropped. "Then don't. That's your choice, still," she spoke calmly, but she held her lightsaber close, preparing.

But for what? She sprang back, to allow Hannibal room to enter himself; hopefully he would get down here to save their friends in time. If he didn't, she felt deep in their bones they would face a greater evil than a simple ghost witch spinning stories. And she wasn't gonna wait to find out. If they attacked, she'd be prepared. Even though she wasn't looking forward to fighting them, she wasn't kidding when she said there was nothing that she wouldn't do to save the galaxy.

Part of that was saving others.

The young man @Talak Rand had found turned to face him, upright and relaxed, the two black pools he had for eyes looking him over. The black-eyed man raised a brow at his comment and question, a look of cool disapproval crossing his features.

"I am not some comic book villain, pretender. Draw your own conclusions," the man admonished, settling his arms behind him. Unguarded, unbothered, calmly confident. He didn't even seem to have a lightsaber on his belt, nor a blaster, vibroblade, or other weaponry. "You got lucky with Sol Puara. You will not do so again," he informed Talak, the Dark presence becoming stronger around him.

It gathered and coalesced in front of the desk, forming a vague figure wreathed in dancing wisps of shadow. In an instant it flew forward toward Talak, a meter long blade of black matter forming in its right hand, the left forming long, wickedly curved claws fingers. It screamed, a gaping hole in its 'face' opening up and letting out a sound of primal terror. The sound of a man somewhere far beyond simple panic, tortured and crushed beneath the will of another.

The old Sith's strike met @Lorcan's block and he immediately took a half step back and right, the hilt raising up and twisting to pivot the tip of the blade around the other side and down toward Lorcan's left forearm, the upper half of his saber still guarding his body. The bloodthirsty grin on the old man's face widened. He was a skilled swordsman rather than wielding the Force itself, and this kind of close combat was precisely the kind of thing he wanted. He hadn't expected someone in this place would actually engage him in melee besides perhaps a Jedi, but he certainly seemed happy about it.

@Darmus Onn arrived to witness @Mara Kensei's fight with the two soldiers, able to see the backs of the two soldiers and Mara herself at the opposite end of the long alleyway from the Ranger. The Ranger shouted as the Matukai rolled, but two soldiers still fired, leaving Mara with three smoking blaster wounds. The fact she was still standing at all was doubtless only because of the Force and sheer will.

The two soldier duck left and right, though one of the Ranger's stun shots impacted the male soldier's right arm before he could get behind the cover of the alley wall while the shot aimed at the female soldier impacted only the corner of the wall. The male soldier unwillingly dropped his sidearm and began to run left along the wall while the female soldier ran right, assuming the Matukai was in no condition to chase with her injuries and knowing the Ranger could no longer see them and would have to run down the alley before he could properly give chase.

@Nykoria Tallis had attempted to mind trick two people, and perhaps to her surprise, it had worked. They weren't trained to deal with such tricks and were stretching their attention. She would arrive to the scene several seconds after Darmus fired, coming in behind him.

The CHDF gunship touched down on the landing pad along with the two emergency vehicles, front weaponry facing the wrecked CorSec gunship just in case. Marines hopped out and spread out around the pad to secure a perimeter.

The comms quickly responded to @Dr Ilana Morata's request for identification, offering a Ranger confirmation code. The marines were certainly not hostile, quickly placing themselves around any moving survivors and keeping an eye on things. These were the genuine article, and they were here to help.

@Vera Coulter and @Crix Aran would find their escape route completely unhindered, assuming they didn't take any strange detours near the armoury. They'd both be able to go back up the way Crix had come down, slow going, but without any hostile presence.

She relaxed slightly at the confirmation, then nodded. "Let's load them all up, then, no time to waste. But someone should go after Lorcan," she called out, glancing back to the building. Nobody left behind... wasn't that the ranger code? But for now her priority was to the wounded, to Corran. The ambulance that the other Jedi had been in was also brought to the scene; the first one was filled first with medics and Rangers dying or horribly wounded, but the second one he was loaded in with Trini. She followed in beside him, but no doubt it would be crowded. She was torn between running back in there or staying with him, but as an Affiliate, her priority was to the Ranger she was affiliated with.

Gripping his free hand with her good one after holstering the blaster, she kissed it, features grim.

The world faded in and out as her consciousness began to dim; the exhaustion from so much use from the Force, coupled with the horrendous burn wounds, were beginning to take their toll. But she wouldn't rest yet. Not until everyone was stable. Not until everyone was treated.
"Hang in there, cowboy," she whispered roughly. As soon as those severely wounded would be loaded with the last survivors, the ambulances would begin to make their way out towards the closest emergency rooms local to the area.

However, she wouldn't allow herself to rest or relax until he would be properly treated. But she trusted the two female Rangers with her as well to watch over them as well.

After all, they weren't out of the woods yet. The snipers were still keeping silent, and that wasn't necessarily a good sign.

She had to trust her back to the Rangers and the marines to do their job, she couldn't do hers for much longer. And unless there was medical intervention fast enough, she could possibly lose her arm. One last thing though.

"Naxa. Emergency vehicles with me en route to nearest hospitals." And from there, she pinged him a live feed of her location. Just in case.

Wolfgang strode swiftly down the halls once again, the third time down this hallway since he'd arrived at the lab. The absence of the other two Sith was quite clear at the end, doubtless gone off to deal with the Jedi. Sighing softly, Wolfgang went to move after them, once again picking up the metal folding chair on his way past and activating the spike to close the doors behind him. Best not to leave an open door, and he could activate the spike through a closed door just fine since he knew it was there.

His long legs and running pace would move him along quickly to catch up to the other two, spotting them in the distance. The pale gentleman's presence was certainly not subtle, even amidst the abundance of Dark influence in the area, making him easy to find. He'd end up slowing his pace just behind, matching their own as they headed off to intercept the would-be heroes. Wolfgang wondered what kind of heroes they would be, sensing at least one other Jedi somewhere. Perhaps it would be entertaining.

Talak's left knee flexed almost imperceptibly as he watched the man turn, forcing himself to stay loose for what he knew to be an impending fight. He realized it had been some time since he'd faced a real challenge in an opponent, and he could feel the prickles cover his skin as a familiar rush came flooding back.

Right, because the Sith always exude stability, he said. Comic book villain or not, Talak knew firsthand that the Sith were often as unhinged as they came. Even if he couldn't get anything out of this one now, he didn't regret trying.

The jab about being lucky with Sol didn't particularly phase him. He was far too focused on his opponent. He was trying to soak in every detail in hopes of using the information later. Those black eyes, that churning darkness that ran as deep as the members of the "Dark Council" or whatever the Sith were calling themselves these days. It was probably something like that.

Then that darkness began to form into something more physical. The former-Sith frowned. He vaguely recalled learning about creatures like this in his study of Sith alchemical rituals, though he had never summoned one. Nor could he remember their precise properties, but it didn't take a genius to figure out that they were dangerous. Combined with the feeling in the Force, Talak couldn't help but wonder if he was facing some spectral version of the dead Sith Lord. Where was Hannibal when Talak needed him?

The lightsaber was still gripped in Talak's hand, and he poured the Force into it. He doubted a saber would stop old smokey's weapon, but he knew the Force would. Sheathing his blade in the energies of the Force and reinforcing it would serve to stop whatever attack the creature may direct at him.

The creature's scream was chilling, but Talak had already let his mind go into another place. It was an almost zen-like state as the creature's weapons formed.

Fine, then, he muttered quietly. It shot forward toward him and he moved quickly to his own left, pushing off from the flexed knee. His saber was raised defensively between he and the creature, though if it made a strike at where he had just been, with luck it would find nothing but air.

His left hand flicked and the Force launched outward, not at the creature but into the desk, flinging it into the man if unimpeded. If he were lucky - unlikely - then the man would be consumed with summoning (controlling? maintaining? who even knew) the spectre that he would miss being squished by the desk. If not - more likely - it would at least give Talak a gauge of the man's capabilities.

The spirit that possessed her was the first to leap in to attack. The roar that escaped her lips was completely unlike Altina, though the spirit still had to use Altina's saber-pike in a spear-like fashion. It did not matter who she attacked, only that she must attack.

Defend. Attack.

The first that crossed her path was @Indy Sati. Altina's attacks, although initially fierce, was quick to show its clumsiness. Curse this body. The spirit snarled as she fought against the fatigue building up in Altina's body. It wasn't supposed to be like this: what is keeping her from fighting to the fullest of her abilities? It felt like moving in a pool of molasses. But it did not take long to divine the reasoning for it.

"Master..." shakily escaped her lips.

Altina was fighting back, from the corner of her mind.

Nar Shaddaa

Nara dropped to the ground, taking a breath as she felt the strange essences in the Force around them. The sources of Light nearby, filling her with relief as she knew that Izel and Isen were still alive. Stranger still was the presence she'd met briefly before, who rapidly reappeared, looking worse for wear. He gave his thoughts and Nara couldn't help but look back at Minerva in disbelief.

"Okay... okay," she said, nodding as she thought through ideas. She could sense the dark presences readying themselves ahead. All she had was herself, a Mandalorian and a blind Jedi who didn't look his best. Oh yes, and the ever-present rumbling of the infected growing closer.

I can leave. I can cut through the infected and go and report my findings, come back with a hundred Knights and sweep through the place, wouldn't that be swell.

She thought that but she knew she couldn't. Not while whoever it was still remained there. She faced the central doorway, breathing carefully.

I'm scared.

"Have either of you got anything explosive? Any heavy duty weapons? Anything to rig up that doorway?" she asked, her voice wavering, even as she tried to maintain her calm. She wouldn't race to meet the Sith. She would let them come to her and she would see what thing had done this to her homeworld.

Nara stood opposite the central doorway, staring into the darkness for a moment. Her breathing levelled out as she closed her eyes and held her hands together in front of her, just drifting into the Force, readying herself for the moment to come. Hoping that the other Jedi would make it, that they might have a chance against the darkness coming for them.

Emotion, yet peace...
Ignorance, yet knowledge...
Passion, yet serenity...

Chaos, yet harmony...

She sought solace in the words that'd never resonated with her until her darkest moments.

Death, yet the Force...

Physical connection to this world, the woman said. That was just vague and unhelpful. A binding object could be anything, hypothetically. Who knows what the megalomaniacal ghost had stuck her soul or whatever into? It could be a book, or a cup, or even some snake she found, probably. Hannibal wasn't an expert in magic. Where was Talak when he needed him?

"Stay in cover," the young Jedi advised Helen as he followed the creepy worm-dug hole just behind Indy, who'd gone on ahead. His eyes caught sight of the landing point, a cracked-open coffin with a corpse inside that felt distinctly Force-y. There was no way it was that simple, right? Haunted corpse?

Do not let them near the coffin, the spirit said, and Hannibal grinned a little. It was totally that simple. Hannibal leapt down after Indy when she moved off the coffin, both lightsabers snap-hissing to life. He landed crouched atop the coffin's broken lid, right hand shoto blade swinging sharply for the exposed corpse's neck while his green blade pointed straight ahead on guard toward Felix, the nearest hostile. He didn't actually know if decapitating a corpse was going to count as severing the spirit's connection, but it was a decent step one. At the very least it might draw some aggression away from Indy and Helen.

"Don't worry, you wont!" he replied cheerily to Felix's panic, grinning impishly over at him, his tone in stark contrast to how he felt in the Force. The chilling calm of a Jedi Master who had resolved himself to fight other Jedi- and one Sith. Hannibal didn't want to fight, he rarely did, but that didn't mean he would hesitate to disable those under the spirit's influence if he needed to.

The worst of her injuries seemed to be taken care of, though the young Vratix still felt like death. She could sense the familiar feeling of their allies nearby. As well as the Sith. They were out of time. Using her pike as a crutch Izel slowly struggled to her feet and shambled towards the hole Isen had cut into the wall. She leaned against the makeshift passageway when she reached it, analyzing the room beyond. Nothing she saw was good. The presence she had felt was in much worse condition then she could have imagined. Her Padawan was off to the side, looking for another exit.

Without saying a word Izel approached the barely living body on the bed. She could feel his pain and suffering. She stumbled and reached out a hand to grab the edge of the bed, barely able to stay up. She looked over the man, antennae twitching. Even if she had the energy to do so, this was far beyond her ability to heal. And looking at the machinery, she doubted they could move him without exacerbating his pain or outright killing him. The more she thought about it the more dread filled her mind. She could see only one solution.

"Dammit..." She clicked in her native tongue, the sound barely audible. How could they have allowed something like this to happen? She remained standing there, hunched over, staring blankly at the body. She couldn't do it. She had to do it. Slowly she turned her attention to Isen. "We're out of time." She told him in a wavering voice. "Those creatures are bearing down on us. I can sense the others are near, in the other chamber. They will need our help. We need to... Escape..." She turned her attention back to the body. "The Sith we're looking for will be there soon. You should join them. I'll be right behind you." She tightened her grip on her pike nervously. "I'll... see to this one..." Her voice was low and miserable. She looked again at the equipment hooked up to the body. Again she wondered if there was any hope of moving the man. It seemed very unlikely. The alternative however... Just thinking about it disgusted her, made her feel ashamed. But what choice did she have? She couldn't waste time. She, her apprentice, her friends. They'd all die if she did. She had to do it.
