This hunt for Trys Aran was literally going to kill him. She always slipped past Sith grasps, just barely out of reach. Her place had been torched, and the Eternal declared a manhunt for her. Even then, no one managed to nab her. Though he wasn’t as trained as other Sith, he knew this task alone could elevate him considerably in the Eternal’s eyes.

Age didn’t matter within the Sith - they were driven by merit and accomplishments. Bringing the head of Trys Aran would shoot him directly into the inner circle regardless of where his training was.

Unfortunately, he severely overestimated his abilities. After a wild encounter with Sector Rangers, he found himself in an empty apartment that was marked for demolition. He had moved past the caution tapes and snuck in through a broken window.

Graffiti lined the walls inside and out, suggesting that this was sometimes a hangout spot. However, no one was here now, and it offered Emryc a bit of reprieve. He collapsed on the floor against the wall, exhaling slowly as he looked down at the blaster wound on his shoulder. It throbbed and pulsed angrily, and he could smell his singed flesh.

It was pitch black outside, a small drizzle beginning before a full thunderstorm would break out. He only hoped that this abandoned building would remain that way. He was in no condition to make a run for it if the Rangers came here.

Enby would probably be the first to admit that at least some of the graffiti lining the walls was her own doing. Caution tape was for losers. It was usually easy to tell which, featuring swooping swirls and sharp turns in paints that reflected in brilliant colours in the ultraviolet spectrum. Here she was again in this abandoned old building, expanding on a bit of work that was destined to be demolished. Eventually. At least she could save it on her datapad.

She was painting, uh. Well, something. It vaguely resembled how she could see a sunset, but it was really fairly unfocused. She was a little distracted by recent events and had just gone off to be alone for a while. Enby didn't feel like sitting at home gaming or something at the moment. Her spray can sputtered as it ran out of paint, and with a grumble Enby tossed it off to the side. She went to fish in her bag for a different one- did something just hit a wall?

Enby's head turned down the dark alley, eyes narrowed. It was pretty late, so not exactly safe. She probably wasn't the only person who came here. She zipped her bag closed and wandered away from the alley wall, down a walking path through the apartment complex. She wasn't quite sure what lead her in this direction. Shouldn't she be leaving?

She could smelt burning from somewhere, and blood. That probably wasn't good. Out of sheer curiosity she followed whatever it was she was followed, slipping around a corner behind a "ground" level apartment, outside of which was a broken window. She looked in, eyes flashing in the half-light, to find a newly familiar sight. A pointy eared elf boy.

If she had hackles they'd be raised. Enby didn't really like him after the events before and time hadn't really done much to alleviate that.

"You. What're you doing here?" she asked through the broken window, though still at a stage whisper. Neither of them were technically supposed to be here. Enby could see him well enough even in the dark. Was he hurt like last time? The smells of burning and blood were stronger.

Emryc couldn’t have had worse luck if he asked for it. What the hell was the neon chick doing here? He could only scowl at her as she spoke, and he half thought about not answering at all. In the end he decided it wouldn’t make her go away any faster.

“Enjoying a vacation,” He spoke through gritted teeth, “You?” It was clear he was in pain, his eyes narrowed to slits. The Force coursed through him and he could only focus on tempering his rage to fight through the pain. He never got into the habit of carrying medpacks on him like other smarter Sith.

“Aren’t you out past your bedtime? Mommy and daddy are gonna ground you,” Emryc said grumpily as he leaned his back against the wall and stared up at the ceiling. The rain got worse outside, thunder cracking and lightning illuminating the sky as thick drops of water poured on everything.

"Painting," was Enby's succinct reply, narrowing her eyes at the knife-ear in the darkness. She was already regretting coming over here. The window didn't have an overhang like where she'd been marking up the wall, which meant she and her outfit were taking on water. The rain was getting worse and she didn't feel like trying to run back in it, so there was only one solution. It definitely had nothing to do with Enby getting the impression the other boy was in pain.

"You kriffin' wish, knife-ears. They're never home anyway," she snapped back, entirely truthful. Enby had no idea when they'd be back, but it probably wasn't soon. It was never soon.

Enby hopped up through the broken window, hissing as her hand half-slipped on the wet edge and her leg caught the edge of a shattered bit of glass, cutting through legging and skin both. She kicked the bit of glass after it hit the ground, shattering it against an opposite wall, but otherwise seemed more annoyed than actually hurt as she walked over to the elf boy. She stopped a couple steps away, looking him over.

Her cut dripped blood on the ground, but it was already beginning to heal. On the other hand, Enby was pretty sure she recognized a blaster wound on the older boy's shoulder. Her eyes softened, just a teeny bit. That definitely explained where the smell was coming from.

"What stupid shit did ya do that got you shot? Try and swipe a whole ship this time?" she asked while leaning in to get a better look. It certainly didn't look treated to Enby. How could someone this annoying not plan to ahead for getting shot once in a while?

Emryc almost sadly grinned at the quip about her parents not being home. At least she knew who they were. He wasn’t going to open up about his own sob story, so he remained silent for now. His keen eyes watched as she struggled to get inside the building and managed to scuff herself up. Where she may have expected laughter, he instead met her with a blank gaze.

He exhaled, his breath slightly shuddered at the pain. The girl stopped and looked him over, biting with an irritated tone as if he was causing her a great deal of pain just by existing. Emryc scowled at her for a moment, his jaw tightening as he thought of a few choice words to unleash on her.

“Can I help you with something?” He spat out instead, wondering exactly why she decided that encroaching his space out of anywhere in a giant ecumenopolis was a great idea. He crossed his arms and stared ahead, watching as the storm only managed to get worse.

“My efforts at getting off this planet keep getting….interrupted," He muttered after a very long pause.

Enby gave the wounded boy a fang-toothed grin and crouched down in front of him, slipping her bag off in front of her and starting to go through it. She usually kept a medkit with her. It wasn't for herself, really, but her friends were prone to getting in trouble and weren't as durable as she was. Not that Enby could fix the results if Crix decided he wanted to fly a speeder around, but he seemed to be self-aware enough to avoid that.

"Doubt it. I'll let you know if I need someone to kark up stealin' a speeder or to bleed all over me, though. You're first choice, promise," she shot back, pulling the medkit out from the bottom of her bag. It was worn and scratched up, with bits of paint both old and new across the surface, but the inside- which honestly mostly consisted of bacta patches, spray, and bandages- was clean.

"D'you have anyone you can call, or are you stuck here? Hold still" she instructed and leaned further forward, pulling the cover off a patch and trying to semi-gently slap it over the injury. Enby was annoyed, but she could also tell he was in significant pain and not actively trying to make her day worse. For the moment.

Emryc opened his mouth to argue, his immediate reaction to recoil from her. However, he instead let her work on patching him up. If people wanted to waste their time using their resources on him, he wasn’t going to deny it. Her question, however, elicited a scoff.

“I’m not some little kid that lost his mommy in a grocery store,” He grumbled, glancing up at her eyes. They were different than human eyes, and the fangs also caught him off guard. Everything else about her made his eyes almost bleed from the excess of colors. She was just loud.

“Rangers are after me,” Emryc said after a long moment, not shifting his gaze from hers, “They’re probably not gonna give a shit if you’re in the way when they light this place up with blaster bolts.”

Emryc didn’t bother thanking her, though the patching job made his pain considerably less. He tilted his head back against the wall behind him, gazing up at the dark ceiling, “Wouldn’t happen to have a way to give me a lift outta here, would you?” He looked back at her, flashing a grin. He could only hope that an attempt at charm would get him out of his predicament.
