Gintama

Since I share some clips of this series on Discord and profile posts I figured I may as well post a thread for it. The first time I came across Gintama was browsing through some clips on YouTube a year or two ago but I didn’t really get into until more than recently as last month. Anyway this show is one of the most funniest anime I ever watched. Of course fellow fans would know there more to the show than just laughs. Most of the characters while crazy and wacky in one moment can be serious and heartfelt in another.

Its combination of comedy, adventure, action, and a little bit of drama all folded like a good hamburger or sandwich whatever your preference. For those not aware the plot is set in an alternative world where instead of the Western Powers opening up Feudal Japan it’s aliens.

The main protagonist is a samurai named Sakata Gintoki who fought in an failed war against the invaders and now spends most of his days getting into all sorts of trouble and misadventures. Usually with him is Shimura Shinpachi, a nerdy teenager training to be a swordsman and the super strong girl, Kaguara from the fierce alien tribe known as the Yato.

Together the trio along with their giant dog, Sadaharu they form the group Yorozuya who do errands/odd jobs for a fee. Often however the group find themselves in the crossfire of conflict between the government, samurai rebels, and alien criminals. Butting heads with them or teaming up, depending on the situation is the Shinsengumi special police force who have their own erratic cast of characters.

Even though I’m a newbie to the series I’m loving it. The purpose of this thread is set up a place where Gintama fans can discuss about the series itself on the board and share stuff. So come on in folks, the water is fine.

Never heard of this show (surprise lol), but I immediately thought of two forum folks who'll either enjoy it and or talk my proverbial ears off about the show. :D
