This was a routine job for Aden, the spacer drifts on. It was too long removed after his last job on Byblos. But now in a nondescript system along the Talcene Transit trade route, Aden Archer is here to to carry out his newest job that he took up. It's a pretty simple one on the onset, shouldn't be too difficult. A freighter by the name the Highliner is enroute to Saleucami. It has some goods that are of interest to his employers. It needs to be disabled.

Before the bulk freighter can get to Saleucami though, it needs to make a stop at a nearby space station so it can refuel and make the last jump to light speed. Prior intel says that the Highliner is coming with an escort of a squadron of starfighters from a second party security group. The Free Worlds used to make sure have the trade-routes into this area well guarded, but after Salecuami left the Free Worlds, pirates starting eyeing shipments coming in and out of the economically powerful world, making them more unsafe. So if people coming to and from Salecuami with precious cargo would need to take measure to protect themselves.

Aden was piloting his favorite ship the Bravebird II, which has ion cannons which are needed to disable to the freighter without physically harming it. For this job would be accompanied with a another pilot who will get a cut of the reward for a job well done. Aden would be at the helm of his ship, they are almost about to escape lightspeed and be in the fray. On the comms, Aden would then speak to the other pilot via "Bravebird here" Bravebird referred to himself with his callsign "We are almost about to leave Hyperspace, Kotru. You ready?" Aden hasn't worked with Kotru before, but he's a young freelancer like Aden himself. Well, it's been a long time since Aden first started freelancing on his own. Aden wasn't too worried through to say the least.

Accompanying the relic of the Galactic Civil War was an even older relic. Having been approached over some drinks along the Talcene Transit, the Zabrak had been looking for work. And with the reinforcement of a heavier craft by his side, Kotru was all too eager to take on the job. The R-41 Starchaser had taken off alongside him to intercept the freighter.

Watching the cerulean haze swirling all around them, Kotru was brought back into the moment with the crackle of his headset. An idle hand drums across the surface of the head of his throttle, eventually flicking the small switch where his ear would be.

"Junkspear here," The Zabrak returned his callsign. "Ready to drop out and hit them in the knees."

His idle palm would slip down to the control stick of his starfighter, a thumb circling the triggers as his other hand moves to flick a few switch to arm the R-41's armaments.

"On your signal, cap'."

"Good. Coming out now" Aden would reply back. Now it's almost time, hitting a few switches at the helm and soon after the Bravebird would exit lightspeed. Now that they would be in real space now, it's now just a matter of finding that freighter. "Now lets go hunting." The veteran would then accelerate his craft as to move forward, forward to where the approximate path of the target freighter. Far in the distance there would be a space station, so they are in the right system.

Of course there may be some time variance and plus they have a big open void to be looking for in the dark of space.

It would be about an hour, but they would find the freighter. "I've found the target, forward twelve-o-clock high." They would still have quite a few distance to traverse though. Time to put the time to good use. Pulling up his craft he would then signal to his astromech co-pilot inside "Power up weapons, raise the shields" his droid would beep in affirmative.

Now back to Junkspear, his wingman for the mission. "Junkspear, here's my plan; your ship is faster than mine, you try to lure their fighter escort away from their mothership and I'll flank them and we can destroy them. Then we go after the mothership."

The spacer thought that would be a good idea. The freighter has quite a bit of turrets on it, so dealing with it and the escort at the same time isn't ideal. If Junkspear is good with the plan, they can proceed. If not, then Aden wouldn't mind trying to do it, although his craft is slower. Or think of another plan. A full on assault may get them both shot down.

Nodding at Aden's words, Kotru grasped the dial in front of his throttle and twisted. With a lurch and stretch of the blue haze surrounding their ships, the Starchaser would drop out of Hyperspace to join it's companion. His eyes would begin scanning the void around them as they flew, eventually catching the hard-angled shape of the Highliner against the starry emptiness.

"Good eye, Bravebird." the Zabrak responded as he gave one last check of his weapon systems. The two monitors for his tibanna gas, as well as a pair of lights to indicate his limited missle stocks. He flips a switch to the left of the lights, the familiar 'Ka-chunk' from below loading a concussion missle into the launcher. He then moved his attention to the left of his controls, pushing in a dial and turning it back as Bravebird discussed strategy.

His deflector shields would move to his back, reinforcing the vessel's rear.

"Sounds like a plan. Ready?"

A hand moves to his throttle. His hearts beat in anticipation.

"Break!"

---

"Captain?"

"Yes, Bulwark-2?"

The flare of four ion engines propell the Junkspear forward, rapidly closing in on target. The pilot of the ship had his eyes square on his targetting computer, watching the grid slowly widen as his thumb flicked a switch to his Ion Cannons.

"Got a starship on attack vectors here! Hundred emm-gees and closing."

Grasping his control stick, he fires twice. One shot grazes and scatters against the frieghter's hull. The other hits square, arcing ions crippling the craft's shields. The switch is flicked to the inverse position. Laser Cannons. He slams the controls to the left as the R-41 breaks off of the centre as he pulls the trigger.

"Contact, contact! Bastard put a hole in my wing! Integrity holding!"

"Bulwark-2, disengage for repairs! 1, 3, 4, weapons free, move to intercept!"

The R-41's quartet of engines roar as the fighter curves to the side and rockets right past the other fighters which spun around and slowly regained speed to catch up.

"There's your window, Brave! Light 'em up!"

The plan was agreed upon and now the wheels are in motion, moving. Aden stopped his craft while he let Junkspear act as the bait to draw the fighters out, Aden watched as the attack connected and then their escort stirred into action. Aden saw a total of four of them, them having scrambled after the Highliner was hit. "You got their attention alright. Nicely done" Aden said.

As Aden suspected, while the escorts are dealing with what appears to be alone fighter attacking them, the bulk freighter would continue it's course to the space station. The Highliner is still a good distance away from the space station, they have time to deal with the escort then deal with the freighter, but they don't have all day, once the Highliner reaches the vicinity of the space station it would be under their protection.

"Copy, here I come". Aden would pull the throttle to get his ship going, he would align his ship at an angle, weapons are hot, primed, and ready.

With his target computer's crosshairs on the fighter closest to Junkspear's he would open fire. A full salvo of cannon fire from Bravebird's dual twin laser cannons and dual twin ion cannons would destroy it in short order, any shields shredded like paper and it's hull incinerated. Aden would turn his yoke and he would have his next target in his crosshairs. He would do the same thing again, unleashing another volley of ion cannon and laser cannon fire that rips apart fighter number two as it explodes. "Two down" Aden said.

By this time the remaining bogeys would split up, and attempt evasive maneuvers, trying to dogfight the interlopers to protect the Highliner.

It was moments like this that Kotru lived for.

Almost immediately after clearing the side of the freighter, the small mirror mounted to the top of his cockpit had three new additions to the starry reflection of the void. Soon after, his controls were cast in the bright blue flashes of laser fire. Erratic jostling of his control stick kept him mobile enough to avoid some of them, but not all. Each time the ship rumbled and that yellow flash of his ship indicating the shield damage made his hearts soar.

//Shield Capacity: 62.4% and Falling.//

His eyes constantly flicked on the numbers which steadily ticked down, only going back to the mirror as he shoved his fighter around their line of fire.
"Yeah! Punks sure like me!" The Zabrak retorts with a cackling laugh, his tones shaken with excitement.

One of the interceptors had almost closed into missile range, when it was suddenly impaled on a hail of laser bolts that ripped apart the chassis and scattered flaming components behind him. The one trailing the craft had lurched itself to the right, unintentionally joining it's companion in having it's front section torn apart and disabling it.
"Ahaha!" Kotru cackled, yanking on his throttle. "Great shot! Take that other chump and we can get our goods!"

As Junkspear slows down to let the other interceptor whizz past him, he pulls his controls to the right and faces his craft towards the freighter. More specifically, he pointed his ship towards the docked fighter which was undergoing repairs for the hole in their wing.

He threw the throttle back forward.

---

"Hell! We just lost Three and Four! Engineers, status report!"

A much more stressed Rodian leaned over the controls of his ship, frantically issuing orders to the remaining active fighter as the other sits in the small hangar with a number of crewmen scrambling around the left wing.

"The frame is patched, we're rewiring the weapon systems now and we can just weld the plating back on after- Oh shit, seal the door, seal the door, seal the-"

The freighter rumbles and shakes as a deafening crash is heard on the other end. Orb-like eyes immediately snapped to the ship's diagnostics, seeing a massive amount of internal damage in the hangar bay. Where there should have been a shut door, there was a concaved mess of internal plating and loose internals.

He presses the intercom and begins barking.

"Full power to engines, get us to that station NOW!"

---

//Concussion Missile away. Reloading...//

The Starchaser's controls are yanked to the left, rolling to the left as he curved away from the freighter for another shot.

"Scratch the other! You got that other guy?!"

Bravebird smiled as his shots found purchase on the two interceptors and as he looked through the sides of his viewport, there was a lot damage going on in the hangar. If there were any more spare starfighters in there that would have came out, they aren't coming out with it being almost unusable if it isn't already. "Haha. Great stuff" he enjoyed this, he gave props to Junkspear on the comms.

Destroying the remaining escort interceptor would be simple, although the boogey was persistent at trying to swerve and veer just to stay alive. The Bravebird would fire at every opportunity, a lot of shots missing, but eventually they small hits would start connecting, damaging the fighter, slowing it down and it's maneuverability, then it would be a sitting duck for a full salvo, peppering it full of laser cannon shots until it's blown into stardust.

"Affirmative. The last bogey is down."

With no other threats, the freighter is all theirs, although he noticed the freighter is speeding up. It's not going as fast as a starfighter, but it is weird seeing a bulk freighter of that size going so fast.

"Now we will disable the engines. Stay directly behind the engines, the turrets won't be able to touch you, don't get to close though." unless they would like their fighter to burn up in the heat the freighter's thrusters.

With that, as the Highliner is (literally) hauling ass trying to speed it's way to safety, Aden would maneuver and align the Bravebird against the freighter's engines, safe from the freighter's turrets. After he does that, he would open fire with continuous streams of both laser cannon fire and ion cannon fire. If the freighter is drawing shield power to aid it's escape, it's shields will drain even quicker, especially being peppered with ion cannon shots. Once the freighters shields are disabled he would cease with laser cannon shots but would keep on with the ion cannon barrage.

Whizzing right by the window of the Freighter's front, Kotru briefly looked into the glass mounting his cockpit to survey the smoke billowing from the ship's docking bay. Not that their pilots were going to be using it now, anyway. A maddened grin slips across his lips at the destruction wrought by his attack, noticing the turrets slowly swiveling towards their target as he made his way around to the rear.

Just like his hearts' beating, the stakes only got higher.

A bright blue flash encompasses the top plate of transparisteel of his cockpit, the light rippling across his hull as the shield light flashed from orange, to red, to a blinking crimson shade as his shields were immediately overwhelmed and knocked offline. The Zabrak's brow furrows as he pushes his throttle as far as it could go, the ions spilling from the R-41 as the Junkspear maneuvers into position.

Even as he closed in on the rear of the ship, the hail of lasers could not all be avoided.

There is a second flash and a violent jostling of Junkspear's cockpit as one of the medium laser's punches right into the belly of the R-41, searing the Durasteel hull and flash-frying a number of components which all blared right into Kotru's vision.

//Astroframe Integrity Intact. I.Dampener A2 cannot be found. Bottom D.Array Offline. C.Missile Launcher Offline. Emptying Magazine...//

Despite retaining (most) of his ability to fly, the blow had knocked one of the Junkspear's main weapon systems offline and sent his remaining missile adrift into the void.

"I'm fine, I'm fine!" Kotru casts back over the communications over the sound of alarms and flicking switches, maintaining a safe distance. "Nothing critical, just gotta knock this Nydak licker out and stick 'im with the bill." He growled, looking down to the targetting computer.

Thankfully, the remaining cannons had remained online due to their position on the wings and nose of the craft. So, he would take out his frustration on the Freighter alongside Bravebird. Firing off his own smaller ion weapons which scattered and shorted out each of the thrusters one by one, until finally even the tiny ones on the belly of the craft had flickered away into darkness.

---

"Captain, we have lost our engines! We are are drifting!"

"Can't get a shot on 'em, they're in our blind spot!"

"Damn it, just shut up for a second and let me think!" The Rodian yelled back, wiping his scaley forehead with a napkin and measuring his options. They had no weapons left, and the duo of pirates behind him could just as easily keep shooting until they hit the fuel tanks.

With few options remaining, the drifting craft would hail the Bravebird and Junkspear.

"This is Captain Reg of the Highliner. What are your conditions?" He spoke, a subtle growl in his tone.

Everything was going according to the plan, Aden saw Junkspear take some damage, he was a bit concerned, it looked like he took some nasty hits. But he was still flying and he was doing really well. On the comms, Junkspear seemed easy going about it. Luckily for Kotru the job will pay well enough that he can get his ship fixed up and still have credits left over, or put credits up for the purchase of a new ship. "Heh heh, aye" If they are lucky, the people who commissioned this job will give more compensation for such a job well done.

Anyways, the bulk freighter engines were disabled, Aden was about to give the next order, to start clearing out all the turrets on the freighter, so it will be truly vulnerable and defencless while immobile, but the duo of fighter pilots were hailed. Aden would listen to what the crew of the Highliner.

"Captain Reg of the Highliner, this is Aden Archer of the Bravebird. Our conditions are this: Power down all your non-essential systems including weapons. You will be boarded, your ship and cargo will be commandeered and be under new ownership. If you cooperate fully with us, I will see to it you and your crew will not be harmed, will be dropped off on the nearest populated world, and will be able to return home to your families." Aden said with a firm voice.

Aden meant it, he hoped the Captain would be reasonable about this. "Remember, this ship, it's cargo isn't worth your the lives of you and your crew. Think about it." he said.

While they would think about it, Aden would switch to the comm line to the Junkspear "Well, looks like we about did it." Well, hopefully the Captain would agree to the terms. Although Aden would flip the visor on his helmet and exhale in relief, Aden would still be in the freighter's blind spot, weapons are still ready to fire and shield are still up. "How about after this, and after your ship is fixed up, a few cold ones for a job well done?" Drinks that is.

Kotru jerks the stick to the left and the right. "You fethin.." He murmured under his breath, watching the view around him as his ship's turning was definitely off. He could tell by the delay, and the slight difference in speed that the Junkspear shifted. He just hoped that there wasn't going to be another hit like that. The R-41 series were not built to take hull damage, the high-speed frame and slim profile did not give much in terms of support.

---

"Captain, you cannot be serious! These are pirates we're dealing with!"

"Ready to hear any suggestions, if you've got them."

"..."

"Figured."

The Rodian darkened his scaley brow, and nodded to the Human at the engineering terminal. A series of switches were flicked, and the Highliner steadily powered down. Shield arrays dissipated their fields, the defensive hardpoints lowered their weapons and the docking rings lit up with guiding lights and rails.

"Aden of the Bravebird, our systems are disabled and we are ready. We will be in our respective quarters. I hope this was worth it."

Standing up from the pilots chair, a slight nod was given to his crewmates as they begun packing their things and moving into their quarters to remain undisturbed as the would put their trust in the mysterious pirates who had crippled their craft.

---

"Sounds good to me. Doesn't report any damage to fuel lines or the 'drive, so I can make it." The Zabrak replied on comms when Aden reported back, still fiddling around with the controls to his left. A flicked switch and a button pressed confirmed his statement, showing a clear flow and a fully operational Hyperdrive that started to charge up. "Gonna need to be real Fethin' careful with the approach though, or I'm gonna shoot off to who knows where. Speakin' of that though, what's the plan now? Dock with 'em and bring the ship the rest of the way?"

After the ship's captain announced their systems are disabled, Aden circled around with his ship and did a scan just and the bulk freighter did not react. Good. Aden didn't respond back to the Captain, he had nothing else to say to him.

Now for the plan, the job was just to disable the ship, and now that the hangar on the ship is a big mess and not safe, getting on it would be complicated too. Not to mention bulk freighters tend to have larger crews and can hold quite a bit of passengers. It's just two of them and they could be fighting through a bunch of armed guards.

"Lets see... If it's just two of us and our fighters, We could leave the ship just where it is and make sure it doesn't go anywhere and inform our employers, so they can take the ship and everything they want themselves. Our job was to disable it after all"

"We also could dock with them and make sure the interior is 'secure', and bring the ship further away from the station and send a comm for our employers to meet us."

"Although"
Aden was getting ideas. "We could inspect the cargo, make sure it's there. And maybe perhaps help ourselves to a bit of it of it, they probably won't notice..." Aden is normally not the one to pull a fast one on whoever he is working for. Aden won't push Junkspear into that if he doesn't want, but the idea is there. They could potentially get even more out of this job than the payment for a job well done. "What do you think?"

Junkspear, considering its already damaged state would remain at the rear as the freighter was circled by the pinnace as he would fiddle around with his controls. The pilot would regain a degree of control over his craft, although the R-41 would continue to move much slower than its previous pace to ensure the notoriously fragile frame did not shatter into innumerable pieces under the strain.

With the job complete, all that was needed was their escort to arrive and take the ship in for retrieval. While he had half the mind to further damage the ship out of spite, he kept that temper under control.

Instead, Aden proposed something else to do. After all, he was going to need every credit he could to repair the damage and source a new missile rack to replace the one that was destroyed. The job paid well enough, but there was nothing wrong with a bit more. Who was going to miss it?

The Bravebird's pilot didn't need to listen hard in order hear that low, mischievous chuckle escaping the Zabrak's lips.

"Ohoho.. I like the way you think, brother. Let's do it."

This time, the Zabrak establishes communication with the Highliner's captain.

"Evenin', fellas. Just going to make a quick drop in to make sure all of the cargo is intact after our little exchange there. So long as you all stay in your cabins, you'll be just fine. Don't go gettin' no notions of bravery, alright?"

"Whatever." A defeated, grudge-holding tone from the crew responds.

Click.

"I'll take dock one, you got two?"

The Junkspear begins a steady and slow approach, very carefully maneuvering the damaged R-41 towards one of the docking rings that glowed softly to guide his ship in. Once he was secured with a clunk and shake from the seal, a cautious hand brushes against his holster and clips the DC-17 free.

Just in case.

"Excellent" Aden smiled as his partner went along with his idea. Not only will the two be getting the reward for the job well done, they will make extra while they are at it. Great stuff.

"Got dock two" he replied back, acknowledging Junk Spear. Aden would take his craft to the docking ring, slowly and carefully. Aden was cautious and had his guard up just in case the bulk freighter tried anything funny. It would end up badly for them (the freighter crew) if they did. Once Aden guided his ship to connect to the docking ring, he would armor up and take a blaster carbine with him along with his other set of standard equipment. Plus some extra computer and security spikes.

Now locked and loaded with his gear, he would then force the docking ring open with a security spike, after finding that the freighter crew even if they surrendered, aren't really eager to open the red carpet for the pirate pilot duo.

He would then be inside the halls of the bulk freighter, it's a Corellian made freighter that much is apparent, he can see no small amount of crates, dirt, grime and about. It seems that this freighter has been in service for a while and has been put to work. "I'm in" he said.

Aden would then move to link up with his partner, carbine in hand.

//Swapping to RCS Thruster Array. Commencing Airlock procedures.//

As he drew closer, the quad-ion engines of the R-41 Starchaser dimmed to let short jets of air take over as he steadily maneuvered the ship closer to his destination. The docking ring would engulf the canopy of the starfighter, eventually sealing around it and letting out a metallic clang as the magnetic grip secured itself against his hull. The steady hiss of artificial atmosphere bled into the closed space between the two ships.

Both locks on the side of the R-41 click as the canopy hissed and tilted backward. The docked ship kept Kotru glued to his seat, making one last check of his limited belongings. A commlink is affixed to the collar of his coat, a brief chip of Aden's voice coming through.

"Gotcha, meetin' ya' halfway." His voice would reply, crackling over the speaker.

Reaching up and to the rims of the airlock, Kotru tugged once, twice, and hoisted himself up. The shift in gravity from the Highliner twirled him around briefly, readjusting as his shoes found themselves on the floor as he sat up then stood from the airlock. A brief gaze with his bright eyes accompanied with only two boots clattering on the floor was enough for him to realize that the crew had kept up their end of the deal.

The interior of the freighter was rugged and simple, only carrying the essentials of a common freighter crew. Soon enough, the Human would come face to face with his Zabrak partner, the latter's hand in one pocket with a boxy DC-17 blaster in his other as the empty palm was lifted and curled into a two-fingered salute.

"Good t'meet'cha face to face. The hangar bay's out, but there's an extra hallway we can take down to the rear cargo hold. Only thing up here is livin' space."

Once he met up with his partner, it would be the first time he would see him in-the-flesh. Aden would nod towards him. "Excellent" he said, pleased with how this is going. Aden would go down the hall way across and go down, seeing a turbolift. Getting inside the turbolift and waiting for his partner, he would press the button and the lift would decedent steadily towards the cargo hold.

Once they arrived, they would see quite a lot of metallic crates, quite a lot arranged neatly, and then some placed seemingly random. "Lets get to work and see what's inside" Aden did spot a repulsorlift flatbed too. "We will need that. My ship can hold a bit of cargo." Aden said. Junkspear's fighter can't hold the crates, but Aden's larger ship can hold at least 3 tons.

"Now lets see here" Aden muttered to himself, as he would start looking through the crates, and finding they are locked. Aden would pull out a thermic knife that he had on his person. Igniting the blade, he would use it to cut through the lock on it. After dealing with the lock, he would then open it.

Aden's jaw would almost drop when he saw what was on it. "Hey Kotru check this out." and if he did, he would see that what's inside the metal crate is a huge assortment of weapons, blasters tons of blasters. Rifles to be more specific, at least in this case.

"Well, I can see why we were hired to take this ship" Aden would look on all the crates again. "There must be a whole bunch more in here, enough for a small army."

Aden would then turn and ask his partner "Did you find anything else" It wouldn't be odd if there was something else in here besides weapons.

The hand would return to his side after, the other still clutching his blaster as they walked. Tense cerulean eyes occasionally danced around their surrounds, keeping a cautious eye out. It was rare to board an opponent's vessel during a job and even rarer for it to end well. As the two arrived to the turbolift, Kotru would hold one back against the side wall and kept his eyes sharp.

"Yeah, ain't really got much cargo on my ship. Could store a couple things in my seat, but my hold's more of a heap of slag 'til I get it fixed." The Zabrak would reply as they walked into the hold. He would break away from Aden's side and approach one of the more hastily cast aside boxes. A hand glides along emblazoned text, a hum in his tone. 'Cpt. Kelrasa' was inscribed in bold white text.

"Looks like more than just supplies. Some folks look to have made special orders."

Unlike the clean and heated blade that the other pilot used, Kotru was much less subtle. A screwdriver was taken to the keypad, levering the case open and forcefully tampering with the circuitry within. Soon enough, there is a noticeable clank as the secure bolts on the lock drop.

A few kicks are given before the heavy steel lid is knocked aside, revealing something covered with cloth. A clearly sentimental note was pushed to the side in favor of the contents within. Sitting on top of a clearly customized astromech sat a well-worn holster, which was quick to disappear onto his belt. Within the surprisingly comfortable leather was an especially ornate looking blaster.

Which was complimenting the Zabrak's other thigh holster as he wandered over to his companion to survey the crateful of armaments.
"Mhm. And judging by the names and icons, I'd put my bottom chit on this bein' a supply run." When Aden turned to ask him, he shrugged his shoulders. "Found someone's foot locker. Took their piece, but their lil' buddy ain't exactly my style."

Said little buddy had gotten upright from the crate, violet painted casing warming up as various lights flickered to life as it began looking around. In particular, the R5 unit's wide circular 'eye' had focused on the two Humanoids.

There is a series of blips and whines from the machine almost immediately.

"Special Orders, sounds about right." Aden would smile, it looks like they both founds some intriguing stuff. Between what his partner saw and the weapons cache. There could be more interesting things in the cargo hold as well, they only scratched the surface really. Aden also saw that fancy astromech droid. Aden wasn't sure about what model it was exactly, it was hard to pin down with the customizations, but Aden did briefly wondered about what all it could do or how well. A good astromech droid at ones side could be key while flying, or it might fetch a nice price with the right buyer. Aden would wonder if it was worth taking the droid with them. On one hand it could indeed be taken or sold, on another that could be part of what Aden and Kotru's employers are wanting specifically.

Kotru for his part didn't hesitate to take what he felt like taking. "Maybe it would be..." Aden would then turn around and noticed that it activated all on it's own. He would raise an eyebrow and then it started whining and beeping while staring at them. The astromech droid seems confused and alarmed as it stares at the two while doing so. Aden would then ask it some questions "Hey, easy there. No need to be loud." he said, in a soft tone towards the droid while smiling, maybe it would stop with the noise "What model are you and what is your designation" he wondered.

"I don't think so. 41's ain't exactly got a- Gah!"

The sudden and loud beeps from the Astromech had caught the Zabrak by surprise, an already cautious state of mind resulting in the boxy blaster pistol being yanked free from it's holster and pointed right at the droid. The mechanical clicks of the weapon joining the digital chorus as the safety is disabled. Kotru was about ready to fire as Aden spoke up, his trigger finger hesitating. The calmer and more rational approach from Aden caused the machine quieten, chirping in response.

"Introduction // This unit is designated as R5-JE. Clarification // Property of Captain Oro Kelrasa and personal assistant. Query // My logs indicate I was deactivated for delivery to Oro while she goes on ahead to Saleucami. Where are we?"

Kotru simply huffed.
"Ain't exactly said what this lady of yours is a captain of. Care to elaborate?"

"Protocol // This unit is forbidden from elaborating on the nature of it's captain's work." The droid warbled, much to the Zabrak's chagrin as he lifted the pistol up, then tucked it back at his side. His head tilted toward his human companion, a hand raised to his lips.

"Ey, think this is what our employers were lookin' for? Pretty hazy on the details."

"Query // I also noticed the property of my captain on the Zabrak's hip. Would you mind returning it?"

"Yeah, I would. Think it suits me better."

"Maybe so, among other things." Aden said. If asked on if that was what the employers were looking for. Aden was already annoyed with the astromech droid however. "Yeah, looks good on you" Aden would smile and jest towards the Zabrak. He would then turn to ask his partner "Hmmm, should we take the droid with us?" he would turn his eyes towards the droid, a bit intrigued "Maybe we can get someone to get the data from it" Aden is a good ship mechanic, but he's not savy with working on droids and extracting infomation from them. If they wanted to dig deeper into the 'forbidden knowledge', this Captain Oro must have some major credits at the very least "Probably might get a good price with the droid the market perhaps...."

The droid doesn't appear to be a threat, so Aden would eye the repuslorlift flatbed, activating it and bringing it towards the crate. A few crates missing from the ship won't hurt most likely.

The pilot duo have time to do what they want, but Aden doesn't want to spend a whole bunch more time here.

"Right? This 'captain' lady could always find a replacement anyways." The jest is returned lightheartedly, a grin crossing the Zabrak's lips as he tapped his own narrow chin a few times in thought. "Eeeeh, you can keep 'im. I ain't good with droids anyways. 'Sides, once we part ways, that means they can't chase me for their gun back." Kotru replied after a moment, the hand returning to his side. Being able to keep out of this 'Oro' person's fury once they find out about their droid and blaster would be that much easier without the means to be tracked.

Before the R5 unit could protest much further, the restraining bolt on it's can-like torso interrupted the synthetic screech. It went quiet soon after, the create easily attaching to the magnetic flatbed and lifting the crate up alongside its contents. With that momentary distraction out of the way, Kotru went back to rummaging around the various boxes that he could lever open with his screwdriver and elbow grease.

Soon enough, Aden with his loaded flatbed and Kotru with a bulged duffel bag would make their way to the turbolift they came from, returning to their respective ships. The crew remained quiet and frustrated throughout the whole ordeal, the duo's mutual employer arriving to dock with the crippled freighter.

Credits would eventually arrive in both of their accounts, and the Zabrak would go his seperate ways soon after. No doubt to get his ship repaired.

"Good workin' with you, Aden. Stay safe out there."
