Flame throwers also have no - little kinetic force to them. A jedi could quite easily just use telekinesis to part the air, and render any heat - energy transmission weapon completely ineffective by making a vaccum

This assumes we're talking about typical liquid spraying flamethrowers. What about plasma flamethrowers? Hell, current day tech already has tools such as welders that can work in a vacuum, it wouldn't be the biggest stretch of the imagination to apply that to millitary technology, which Star Wars apparently has.

Plus this also assumes that Jedi can actually create such a vacuum in a hurry. Wookieepedia states: "Flamethrowers had advantages against lightsaber wielding adversaries such as Jedi because the fiery spray was not as easily (if at all) blocked as blaster fire." Add to this the psychological element of using FIRE that a Jedi would have to be a walking well of calm in the middle of a panic-inducing firefight to even perform such a counter to a relatively simple mechanical weapon, which could ultimately leave him exposed to another threat such as the humble blaster or slugthrower while he's making said vacuum.

Either way, it's just a silly sci-fantasy universe in the end.

You're right of course, flame throwers are increadibly effective against lightsabers on a whole, but telekinesis is another thing altogether. Though what i would do if i were a Jedi faced with a flamethrower or 'especially' a Sith would be to just crush the neck of the weapon with the force. Or even with a little bit o' heat vision just 'pop' the fuel tank. For that instant win.

(just make sure you do it from a safe distance)

I play a lot of psychics on other sites, though the Jedi limitations etcetera are more... confined. Depending on your source. Mine being the games, not the movies.

Not allowed to use them in the Jedi Order, other than that I'm not certain.

Eh? Where'd this come from?

The Darksaber is a one-off artifact, but I don't think there's any definitive rule against black lightsabers, if that's what you're looking for Anaki.

That said, using one may get up some people's noses, but AFAIK they're not disallowed. They are canon, after all. *grumblegrumblegrumble*

If that's the case, then the Jedi will need to add that to one of their write-ups somewhere.

Not directing this at you directly or anything Cassie, it's just a general statement. If the Jedi are going to have rules like that, they need the appropriate documentation.

GABA told me the other day.

:CAbove
I said Forcesabers.

Also, on darksabers:

Darksabers haven't been seen around since from the clone wars, so she ought to have a good reasonable explanation to possess one.

You have too many lightsaber forms for someone to have just be starting training. You won't be allowed to master all of them either, Knights get one when they complete their training.

I wasn't trying to be a pest i was just wondering if they were banned completely.
But if black is a color you can have for a Lightsaber i will happily use that if i'm allowed.

There is no rule against black or 'dark' lightsabers at this time. There used to be a ban on them, but iirc, it was lifted. Feel free to use them, but you should make a solid effort to come up with a reasonable explanation as to why your character has one.

Yes.

I, personally, plan on making a Ghetto rainbow saber. Gonna take a bunch of sabers, one of each and every color of the rainbow, and bundle them to a short stick using lots of duct tape and hot clue. I'll call it the 'Skittles Saber', and scream 'TASTE THE RAINBOW MOTHER****ER' whenever I swing it.
