DESCRIPTION
The GX1 short hauler is a model of transport manufactured by the Lantillian ShipWrights corporation. One of the more ubiquitous models of light freighter seen plying the star-lanes, the GX1 can be found in the services of diplomats and independent spacers alike, being available in a number of different trim levels from luxurious to utilitarian. Having been in production since the Clone Wars, and showing no signs of slowing down, the type can be seen in star-ports from the Deep Core to the Outer Rim.The GX1 short hauler is 37 meters in length, piloted by a crew of up to 4 and able to carry 10 passengers, plus 85 tons of cargo and consumables for up to a month in space. All GX1s are equipped with individual crew and passenger cabins, refreshers, a small lounge and a small galley, although luxury trim packages are available with higher-end equipment and furnishings. In an emergency, the ship has 3 escape pods, and is armed with a dorsal dual laser turret for defense. The ship has a top speed of 50 MGLT, plus a class 2 primary hyperdrive and a class 10 backup.
