Faction & Division: UNSC/ Marine Corps
Rank: E-1 Private
Callsign: N/A

Name: Murray, Samuel
Race: Human
Age: 12/02/29 (21)
Height: 6'1
Weight: 165 Pounds

Appearance:

Physical Characteristics
Samuel is a taller man with the body of a fresh soldier. He has a little bit of muscle on his body, which he gained while in Basic Training for the UNSC Marine Corps. He has brown hair that is shaved to military regulations. His face is clean shaved and fresh of any scars, due to him not seeing combat before. His skin complication is fairly pale. Samuel is also known to have a thick Scottish accent.

Apparel
Samuel wears his standard issued UNSC Marine Corps BDU. He wears his sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He prefers to wear a boonie instead of wearing his helmet. Samuel wears a pair of orange tinted combat glasses that helps his vision in the sun. He is normally always wearing a backpack that has most of his extra gear inside.

Weaponry
Samuel uses a standard MA5 assault rifle that he calls "Alice". He takes good care of the rifle and can be seen constantly stripping and cleaning the weapon. He also has a standard M6 pistol which he is proficient with.

Strengths:

    • High Moral: Samuel is known to constantly have a high moral and outlook on life. He can be seen constantly cracking jokes or wise remarks to everyone in his platoon. He is easy to get along with and tries his best to keep the situation as light as possible.
    • Dependable: Samuel is a pure bred "Grunt", meaning he will follow his orders to the book. He is dependable and his CO's can count on him to get the job done. He may not have the best shot or the highest IQ, but he can be counted on to get the job done right.

Weaknesses:
  • Cockiness: Samuel's high spirits and his drive to accomplish his goals can give this impressions of arrogance to his fellow soldiers. He tries his best to refrain from arrogant remarks, but most of the time they slip out with out his control.
  • Green: Samuel has not seen any real combat yet. He is still naive to the whole idea of war and underestimates the Covenant deeply. He doesn't know how to deal with the loss of friends or how to deal with the stress of what's to come.

Biography:

Early Life
Samuel Murray was born in Glasgow, Scotland on December 2nd, 2529. He was the youngest of two children. He had an older sister named Melanie. His parents weren't poor, but neither were they rich. None of the less, Sam had two loving parents that tried to raise him and his older sister to the best of their abilities. His father served in the Navy while his mother stayed at home. With his father gone fighting the Covenant, Sam grew up reckless and got into constant trouble. He never cared for his mother much, due to the fact that she never really understood how not seeing his father was affecting him.

When Sam was eight years old he received word that his father had died fighting the Covenant. He never learned what battle it was, but his death affected his whole family deeply. For days and weeks at a time Sam's mother would not leave her bedside and help around the house. This is when Same became more reliant on his older teenage sister, Melanie. They built a strong relationship that carried them through the rocky turmoil at home.

Eventually, the family became split when their mother became a sharp alcoholic and practically abandoned Sam and Melanie to fend for themselves. The two siblings decided to leave their home and live together in a crowded tenement in London. Here Sam's hatred for the Covenant began to build as he watched day after day on the news of the Covenant advancement. This is where Sam decided he wanted to become a UNSC Marine. When he was 18 years old he signed up for the Corps. His sister was saddened that he was going to leave, but she knew that he would eventually be drafted. Basic Training

Samuel was sent to Reach to train to become the best Marine he could be. He didn't know what to expect, he was heading away from his home planet to the far reaches of the galaxy. It took some time to adjust to the soldier's life. Before he joined the Corps he was known to be a troublesome teen that was always looking for a fight. He didn't respect his elders and he held a burning hatred of his mother. The first few weeks of Basic were the hardest for Samuel. The DI's were constantly nagging and drilling him to the ground. They considered him a maggot that would get his whole platoon killed. With his loud mouth and constant joking he was given the nickname "Joker" which stuck to him the rest of his career.

After the first few weeks, Samuel was able to settle in and was able to start focusing on his training and passing his courses. The DI's began to notice the change in his work ethic. He was now completing his training exercises and bringing his fireteam from the bottom of the platoon to one of the hardest working. He began to make friends throughout his whole platoon. But, he grew relatively close with those in his fireteam.

After many hard weeks of grueling pain and determination came Graduation. Sam and his fireteam were no longer recruits, but instead enlisted Pvt's of the UNSC Marine Corps. Sam felt proud of achieving the title of "Marine" and carried it with pride. Him and his platoon were now about to face the toughest opponents the human race had ever fought, the Covenant. Sam was nervous to face this alien foe, but he felt it was his duty to help protect humanity. Eventually, his fireteam was given a fireteam leader, Sargent Thomas Booker and were now prepared for war.

Sergeant Thomas Booker, callsign (Reaper 3 - Alpha): Sgt. Booker is a hard ass, no nonsense soldier. He is around his early thirties and expects his fireteam to execute their tasks with discipline and no mistakes. He cares for his troops, but if you cross him, he won't be afraid to leave you behind.

Private Veronica Sanders,: Pvt. Sanders is the only female in the fireteam, but that doesn't make her any less useful. She is normally cold, but if you get to know her she will open up to you. She is devious and a tom boy at heart. Veronica and Sam can often be seen flirting and could be called "together".

Private Louis Mendez: Pvt. Mendez is a by the books soldier. He is considered the second leader of the group, and looks down at Sam's sometimes sloppy performance. He is very spiritual and can always be seen thanking God for surviving an encounter. He is also jealous of Veronica and Sam.

EXTRA: Yeah I just straight ripped my old profile text and all from 2012 so excuse the poor writing lol.

UNSC Dossier #41231

Faction & Division: UNSCMC/134MEF/5CE/2REG/BCOMP/1PLT/1SQ/FTO

Rank: E-3 LCPL

Callsign: Oscar 1-2; 'Zap'

Name: Jones, Sasha
Race: Human
Age: 27 (excl. cryo time)
Height: 1.77 meters
Weight: 55 kilograms

Physical Characteristics:

Jones is a bit taller than normal for her gender and has a fairly muscular appearance slapped on to broad shoulders, resembling the silhouette of a wrestler. Wavy brown hair is cut short and tied into a ponytail under a helmet from which hazel eyes stare. She possessed relatively tanned skin and a generic Eastern European accent adopted from her time serving on Reach. A prosthetic limb makes up her entire left arm from shoulder to fingertips, with burn scars going from where her arm used to be all the way up the center left of her chest.

Kit:

Jones wears an olive drab-and-dark tan mix of standard issue BDU under body armor that she hasn't been able to replace due to inventory being low. Ranger green-colored combat glasses shield her eyes. Her gloves are cut at the fingertips to aid with ergonomics and her sleeves crawl all over her arms depending on the situation. A large pack clipped to her plate carrier holds explosives and other engineer-related tools.

Loadout:

Jones is kitted with an M392 DMR on her back and an M6C sidearm on her hip. Her vest holds six and two magazines, respectively. Two smoke grenades hang from her vest and a knife is clipped to her right shoulder pauldron. A standalone variant of an underbarrel grenade launcher sits in her pack, as well as a few blocks of C-12 depending on the mission. Several detonator and IED triggers sit under her chest plate for easy access and as a few good luck charms.

Strengths:
    • Handyman: Despite being a demo expert firsthand, Sasha's father worked with cars and engines and gave her a few tips and tricks for getting old rust buckets (and the Corps' diesel-drowned inbred monsters) to working order again.

    • Gung-ho Hero!: Being through the wringer across a variety of fronts forced Sasha to do a lot of messed up stuff with explosives, up to and including blowing up herself with the former platoon CO. She gets the job done, and that takes a bit of grit. She maintains a level head under pressure and will do what she has to in order to win this damned war--even if it would normally be ethically questionable.

Weaknesses:
    • PTS: After calling 'Broken Arrow' and getting strafed by a few Hornets, blown up, and almost friendly-fired along with all of her former squad (and the platoon CO; all KIA), Sasha isn't exactly the same easygoing person she was before. Lazy and funny just the same, sure, but phantom limb syndrome and bad depression catches up to her head even through her nerves.

    • Prosthetical Pains: Jones' prosthetic arm is fairly new to her as she was only cleared for front line duty a month earlier. Phantom limb syndrome still comes back in phases, despite claims by the Docs that it'd fade in the coming weeks. The enhanced strength and dexterity provided may get in her way here and there, despite being an advantage.
Biography:

Sasha Jones was born on Tribute to an automobile mechanic and a stay-at-home mom. Most of her early life consisted of smoke, power tools, the smell of alcohol, and horrid-tasting food rations. The Human-Covenant war was taking its toll on the lower class (which she had been born into) but she managed to live a relatively exciting and healthy early life, helping out around the shop and planting a seed in her 'blowing sh** the hell up' career. Oh, and building stuff, too. That was important.

Soon enough, her father was drafted for the Meat Grinder Marine Corps and she was left to work in it with her mother at the meager age of eighteen, fresh out of high school. Needless to say, their work wasn't nearly as satisfactory as her father's and the small business soon had to shut down. Things only went downhill from there.

Sasha's mother, rather grimly and ironically, died in a car crash due to an engine failure, two years later. Their apartment's rent had been skyrocketing for the past few months, as well as taxes. She could barely pay for a funeral with the funds they had left. Her father wasn't even there to pay his respects. She lived with a friend for a while, until she got 'back on her feet'.

News of her father's death came two weeks later. Her friends were running out of funds, hardly found enough money for food. They had to kick her out, despite certain of the grim situation she would be in. Jones had nowhere else to go but the UNSC.

Boot camp quickly made a Marine out of her on Reach and got her specialized as a combat engineer, despite her excellent ratings as a marksman. Speculations can only assume that she was intending on joining Sniper School, maybe find a way to stay out of the action. Instead, she was tossed right into the grinder. Combat engineers didn't exactly have the longest life expectancy--nor the longest deployments. She was sent to the frontlines not a week after graduation.

It was Hell on Earth. Her first missions consisted of setting up demolition for multiple grounded UNSC vessels. Half her platoon had been wiped by a Wraith and a squad of Elites. Her nickname came in the same assignment, where she had managed to make resourceful use of power lines, generators, and a pool of muddy water to get revenge on their killers. Zap. She got promoted to Lance Corporal as a replacement due to 'outstanding performance in the field'. She got good at it, cooking Covies. The bitterness grew out of her like a weed into sick humor associated with people on the front.

A few months later, a few assignments later, her platoon was in a pickle. Most of the force on the planet Troy had been evacuated, save for a few units lying along a coast. Waiting for help. Squads were getting picked off by the hour, and the Covenant had already begun glassing its far side. Her unit was found late in the evacuation efforts by the aliens. Her platoon leader called 'Broken Arrow' on their location--basically looking for one last blaze of glory. Hornets came inbound and strafed their position, taking out human and Covenant forces alike. The last thing she heard was the whir of a rocket and her left ear ringing.

She woke up in a hospital behind the lines, going through physical rehab to get her fitness back and insisting on being put back on the front despite tests showing signs of post-traumatic stress. They slapped a prosthetic on her and sent her to rejoin her unit, where she is now.

SSG Ryan Eastley: Acting CO of 1st Platoon's Engineers, and currently the 'partner in crime' of Sasha. Acts as a mentor and makes sure all the demo rigs are set right so he doesn't blow off her arm like the (now vaporized) last platoon leader did. Resourceful soldiers like her are in relatively short supply in times like these.

EXTRA: I kinda stole this from ya.
