Hapes is a planet in the Inner Rim, nearby the fellow monarchy Onderon. The planet is located the Hapes Cluster enveloped in the treacherous Transitory Mists. Hapes is known for many things, it's near-human Hapan population, it's matriarchal society, and it's Monarchy are most notable.

Hapes had it's roots descended from the Lorrel Raiders, who abducted many women during their plunders around the Mists, they would settle the then-uncolonized Hapes. After Raiders were killed off by the Jedi, the women would then build their own home on Hapes, a society that gives no power to males. The Hapes Consortium would prosper on Hapes, claim all the planets in the cluster as they isolated themselves from the galaxy, only emerging after Emperor Palpatine was defeated for good after the Final Order's end.

The Hapans pride themselves on their pristine homeworld. The planet Hapes is a continental world mostly made up vibrant blue oceans. It's landmasses are made up of lush green grass, golden plains, mountains, and forests.

Hapes' climate is mostly temperate, has seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, with the former two being long and the latter two being short. The skies are usually clear and it rains every now and then. Storms are not as common as some worlds either.

Due to the nature of the planet with 7 moons and the nebulae reflecting light to the planet, light is always shining on Hapes, the planet never seeing the darkness of night. Due to this, Hapans have no night-vision.

Hapes has many smaller towns and villages, but the most urbanized area is their capital city and main hub Ta'a Chume'Dan, which is still smaller than the average capital city compared to most in the galaxy.

Before the Hundred Years of Darkness, the Lorell Raiders were pirates who made their home in the Transitory Mists, they used made clever use to the nebulae to ambush and plunder unsuspecting prey. They abducted many women as well as hauls of goods. The Lorell Raiders used the planets in the then-little explored cluster as bases. The women would be brought to the planet that would latter become known as Hapes and established a settlement there. Unfortunately for the pirates however, they caused a huge stir and became a real nuisance in the Inner Rim, forcing the Republic and the Jedi to take action. Afterwards, the Jedi destroyed the pirates, leaving the women on Hapes free.

The women would hate the Jedi for this, and the resentment towards the Jedi would carry-on even in the present. The women of Hapes however with the Lorell Pirates effectively destroyed, became the masters of their own destiny. Any remaining men would on Hapes would have no choice or any that survived to come back would find themselves under the heel of the women. They would then decide to make a full colony out of this world. There would be one leader among them with the vision to do this, and after they built their own city, and declared that no man would hold power on this world. In time, they built their capital city, and over time their own language Hapan. The humans of Hapes would lose their ability to see at night as well, and the Hapan people became known for their natural beauty, and Hapans were eventually considered a near-human species.

They wanted to keep to themselves, but unfortunately found themselves under the Sith Empire in the aftermath of the First Sith Era around 6980 BBY and the Mandalorians during the mid-stages of the Fires of Rebellion era circa 6300 BBY. Although they were allowed to retain the culture for the most part and still had their matriarchal monarchy even though they were under a Sith Emperor or Mand'alor as overlord. After the Fires of Rebellion era, they they re-gained their independence, the Queen launched a campaign, rapidly colonizing the rest of their home cluster, sealing off the Transitory Mists, a policy of isolation, and militarization. After the Hapes Cluster was fully charted and colonized, the Hapes Consortium was established, with it's leader the Queen Mother ('Chume' in Hapan).

After the Sith Wars of circa 1000 years BBY, Hapans would go in isolation, keeping the Hapes Cluster under lockdown with their newfound powerful navy. The Hapes Consortium was uninvolved in the Clone Wars, not involved in the Galactic Civil War aside from skirmishes with the Galactic Empire. The Hapans were not involved with the war with the First Order, and even remaining in their home cluster when Palpatine threatened the galaxy with his planet destroying Star Destroyers, although the Free Worlds fleet that assembled at the battle of Exegol did inspire the Hapans to come out of their isolation. They would open up the Hapes Cluster, and the Queen Mother reluctantly joined up with the Free Worlds Alliance not long after the battle of Exegol.

The government of Hapes and it's cluster is known as the Hapes Consortium. The Hapes Consortium is a hereditary monarchy headed by the Queen Mother, who is revered by the Hapans and is almost a goddess figure to them. Politics of Hapes are incredibly cutthroat with strife as the various female nobility for the most part will resort sabotage or outright assassination to advance in standing. The Hapes Consortium, as a matriarchal society, Hapan females have better standing than Hapan males, the latter of which are treated as second-class citizens. Hapan males having some degree of standing and power is possible (such as Hapan Princes and more male Hapan military leaders), but it is rare; but even so, no man can rule Hapes.

The Hapes Consortium is also an absolute monarchy, with the Queen Mother having full control over her realm, ruling from the Fountain Palace in Ta'a Chume'Dan. The Hapan Royal Court acts as legislative and the judicial branch. They do vote on matters, but they have no real power and in practice served as advisors to her, that could be disregarded.

The Hapan people are not ones to be trifled with, they have an impressive navy for a smaller government, having larger capital ships of their own, with their own designs and built by shipyards in the Hapes Cluster. The Royal Hapan Navy patrols the Transitory Mists as a deterrent against aggressors and picking off pirates who dare stray into their space. Their proficiency with starcraft and their ruthlessness are a holdover from their roots as pirates. The Hapes Consortium has maintained their strong naval culture since their inception and have always been fiercely protective of their borders from threats.

Hapes was blessed with an abundant amount natural resources. Hapes has metals, ores, fuels, wood, as well as plentiful amounts of food in the form of fishing, and other flora and fauna, although with an average amount of farmland available. Hapes focuses a lot of clean, renewable energy to keep their planet as pristine as possible, and being conservative with non-clean energy to keep pollution low.

Hapes also draws from resources across the Hapes Cluster, and being more liberal with exploitation in the Consortium's colonies. Hapes has prospered and thrived even during isolation, and when it opened it's borders it emerged as an abundantly wealthy planet that has a lot to offer in terms of trade, and plenty of curiosities to import as well as fuels and tibanna gas. Hapes is known for it's gem trade and having small deposits of kyber crystals. Hapes is also has rich art culture and thriving starship manufacturing sectors.

Technologically speaking, Hapes is on par with the rest of the galaxy, although it's buildings, vehicles, and other products look more elegant and regal in terms of aesthetics.

Always really liked Hapes. It played a big role in Legends but anything relating to Hapes in canon is a stub or is non-existent. So, making this write-up to give a clear picture on what Hapes would look like for this timeline, with certain things altered in Hapes' history (timescale in the history being moved back to bring Hapes' past in line with site-canon) but keeping true to Legends!Hapes as much as possible.
