Hauron's Beskar'gam

Hauron Solus wears a set of customized Mandalorian armor. Primarily it is composed of relatively common materials worked into the preferred design or simply repainted to match Hauron's tastes. Covered primarily in a layer of black paint, this used to be scatterweave until it was damaged signiciantly and Hauron decided to remove it altogether. It still makes the Mandalorian hard to detect in many situations. Of all his armor, only his lower arms are made with beskar to prevent immediate loss of limb in case of contact with a lightsaber or other danger. Since his youth, he has added and removed various functions and plates, swapped out damage equipment and made this armor his own from pieces taken from the armors of passed friends and family.

Hauron finds it easier to move with less platting on his legs and also far easier to keep quiet that way. As a young warrior he tends to also not want to strain himself by lugging around extra weight. With time he might add more but also the quality of armor is in short supply at times. On rare occasions Hauron may wear only his chest plate or select pieces of the armor depending on the mission.

LEGALITY

Mostly legal. Mandalorian armor, though rare, is not illegal in most places. That said, wearing a full face helmet in public spaces is frowned upon, and often illegal in many core worlds, especially in or near government facilities- not to mention that many identification cards in various systems require a full face photo. This drives many strict adherents of "the way" to operate exclusively on the fringes of the galaxy.

INTENT

A personal Mandalorian armor for Hauron Solus. I intend to also use it to track any personal changes or upgrades maybe.

Functions

Function 1: Mandalorian H.U.D. (helmet)
  • After recent innovations from MandalMotors, the Mandalorian company had designed their own hud interface in order to better combat force-sensitives and provide more utility for Crusaders in the field. The Mandalorian hud is the combination of vision modes, a survival hud, and a scout hud with easy switching between the different settings. The biggest upgrade to the interface is the use of the scout hud and vision modes simultaneously for better information-gathering capabilities. The controls can be programmed onto a gauntlet or helmet for easier access.
  • Force User Compatible?: No
Function 2: Energy cord launcher (left arm)
  • With the war effort growing and conflict with force-sensitives more prevalent, MandalMotors made an improvement upon an iconic design for their purposes. The Energrycord functioned much like a Whipcord but fired a yellow energized line that was lightsaber resistant for a few seconds and could ensnare/restrict the mobility of a target up to 7 meters away. Because the cord is energized, it will zap the target to interrupt the concentration of a force-sensitive and slowly fatigue them the longer they remain constricted within it. (The same effect as a light stun bolt each round a person is ensnared.)
  • Force User Compatible?: No
Function 3: Thermal Under-suit (throughout)
  • Thermal under-suits wick away or reflect thermal energy for brief periods of time. They are not nearly as effective as a suit that firefighters would wear. Most commonly used to protect soldiers from flamethrower weapons or short bursts of extreme heat or cold, and are only good for 1-2 posts of exposure depending on intensity. They are useless against blasters.
  • Force User Compatible?: No
Function 4: Jet pack (back)
  • Jet packs are back mounted units used by elite troops increase their mobility on the battlefield. The jet pack's maximum speed is 50 kph and it carries fuel for up to five minutes of continuous flight (flight mode), but can also be fired in short bursts triggered by jumping (combat mode). The wearer can control the system to switch between modes and/or disengage it from their armor via wrist controls. These packs are cumbersome, adding an additional 8kg for the average human (larger individuals will have heavier jet packs to support their weight). While the fuel is stable enough not to explode, direct hits from weapons can trigger the system inadvertently, after which it is rendered useless.
  • Force User Compatible?: No
Function 5: Mandalorian Iron Lungs (helmet)
  • With combat on a variety of planet surfaces, the Iron Lungs were created, a combination of both a filter and rebreather. The device was built into the base of the helmet and near the mouth region, eliminating the typical bulkiness with the attachments. Because of sensors installed, it could automatically detect the presence of water or other substances to allow automatic switching between the two functions. The Rebreather lasts for about 4 rounds while the filter is still susceptible to caustic damages..
  • FC?: No

Mandalorian Vambraces

Function 6: Wrist Rocket (right arm)
  • Wrist rockets have a flight range of 100 meters and have a blast radius of 3 meters. They are single-shot devices and require manual reloading after use. They are effective against lightly armored vehicles, moving parts such as gears or hydraulics, and infantry, and do equivalent damage to a frag grenade.
  • FC?: No

Function 7: Repulsor (right arm)
  • Originally designed to counter combat with force sensitives, this tool is able to project a strong repulsor field replicating a Force push. It projects up 10 meters and its limited power cell only allows for 3 uses before it needed changing. The repulsor has significant recoil and the wielder must carefully brace themselves before use- both to ensure accuracy and to prevent the user from being knocked over themselves or having their arm torn from its socket.
  • FC?: No
