I am an experienced roleplayer, with years of text style experience. However, as of late life had gotten in the way of that. I recently watched the Force Awakens, and in me awoke the desire to put on a guise once more.
For playing a character do we not put ourselves in their shoes?
Honestly, I do not have much forum experience and my knowledge of Star Wars lore is a bit limited however, I found this site as my desire to roleplay had come back, browsing through some threads here and there looking at things for the new timeline and I just couldn't help but want to be a part of this site.
Truly, I hope it will be a pleasure to roleplay with you all.

Welcome to the site @Malen Lorn! There is a lot to take in as the new timeline information is released as you have seen. As for playing a character you are correct. you develop a character you like and become their persona.

Welcome man! Don't worry about lack of knowledge of lore - except for the main stuff, we make most of our own stuff up. So just keep an eye on the timeline announcements board for posts on the new timeline, since that's the setting for RP starting sometime in late January. The best part about being able to join us so early on a new adventure is that, just maybe, one of the characters you design now will survive to be a legend by the end of that timeline. It'll be one hell of a road, and I'm excited to have more experienced RP'ers on the way there. I'm all about the journey, and not the destination, so if you're ever in need of someone to bounce ideas off of, I will do my best to help. My inbox is always open.

Welcome! Like others have said, the limited lore knowledge won't be a problem. We're actually about to change timelines and we're going to be set over 1,000 years before Episode I. The canonical lore that exists there is extremely limited, so there's not much to know anyway. It's a good setting to dive into.
