Hello there! I'm an 18-year-old American astrophysics student studying in the UK, and consequently a huge sci-fi nerd. When it comes to Star Wars in particular, though, I'm not overly knowledgeable on the EU, since I've only really started getting into the series over the past few years. So I guess I'll just be leaning on Wookieepedia a bit while I'm here, haha.

I've been roleplaying and writing for years but it was mostly in one-on-one plots and smaller universes; this is easily the biggest community I've seen in my life. So I'm probably going to take some time to get used to everything before I jump into the action, but I'm really impressed by all the stuff I've seen here. You guys are some really talented writers and the whole storyline was well thought-out and a really interesting read. I'm looking forward to getting involved!

I don't have any really big ideas for a character yet, but I do have a few questions. Do all characters have to start out at the lowest rank in a faction (e.g. Jedi padawan) or can you make someone start off higher in a faction (within reason)? And if so, is that frowned upon? And how much canonicity does Episode 7 have in the plot, if at all?

Now is a great time to get a feel for the site. We are about to be starting a new timeline so I would read through the timeline announcements which will cover to the big stuff.

As far as ranks go, when the new timeline comes everyone will start out as "Knight" level characters. You may start lower but that is up to you.
