Historians delight as Clone Wars era trooper emerges from stasis

Early reports from the Sector Rangers indicate that a Clone Wars era trooper has emerged from their stasis pod in the distant world of Felucia. Early reports indicate that the trooper appears to be of one of the earlier gene strands of the famed clone army, produced on Kamino many years ago.

Historians have been left baffled as to how the trooper survived for this long, with scientists already declaring it a ‘medical marvel’.

The Government of Kamino was not available for comment; however , a statement from the Prime Ministers office confirmed that they are ‘intested in confirming the authenticity of the subject’ before going on to confirm that the ‘property of the Kaminoan labs should be returned as soon as possible’.

This emerging news story is unprecedented in modern times, with all the surviving subjects of the Cloning labs from this time period having long since been presumed dead. Various rights groups have contacted the Herald stating their belief that the Clone is ‘entitled to a full and happy life, as a valued member of the galactic community’.

Should verification of the newcomers status as a Clone be confirmed by the authorities, it will undoubtedly throw up ethical questions across the Galaxy.

We shall have more on this story as it develeops

The past few days had been an absolute cluster for the ambassador. The hostage crisis with his nephew had ended, but breaking the news of concessions to his brother had them both screaming at each other. It had been a uniquely toxic experience, one that they hadn't gotten into since they were children. His niece had also taken the time to complain about how he'd inadvertently revealed her Vice Presidentship to her father, asking "WHY DID YOU TELL DADDYYYYYY?!" and eventually storming out of his study screaming "IEHATEYOUIHATEYOUIHATEYOU!"

How his family managed to maintain it's wealth and political power while remaining such a dysfunctional mess was beyond him.

The holo droned on in the background, as it usually did. He had it tuned to the "Hyperlane Herald," a news channel that, while still trashy, generally reserved it's editorializing to trivial garbage regarding President Thorne. Nowadays it seemed to be focusing on the collapsing market that had resulted from the sanctions against the Sith Empire. He'd been partly outraged about how negative the decision had been covered; anything that worked to stop the Sith was good, so long as innocents weren't caught in the crossfire. If a few shareholders lost out on their investments, it was a worthy sacrifice to ending galactic tyranny.

The topics shifted after a brief ad break, promoting some male ED pills. The man rolled his eyes, tuning the sounds out as he looked back down at his desk. It was littered with old manuscripts he'd poured through, notes, documentation and the like. Some were several centuries old, and he really should've been taking better care of them. One was a shipping manifest for a long since demolished factory on Brentaal, ordering 2000x energy cells for DC-15A blaster rifles. It had been an old bit of info he'd used to back up his thesis "On the Brentaali war economy," focused on the clone wars in particular.

One of the earliest fascinations Claudias had when delving into history had been the Clone Wars. The romanticized images of vantor class cruisers fighting against Trade Federation lucre hulks and CIS starships had captivated his young mind. That stalwart, white clad clone army that had defended the Republic from conquest by the traitorous CIS, with their Jedi generals leading the charge against villains like General Grievous or the nefarious Count Dooku. Ofcourse, as he'd grown older, his fascination waned, and that simplified story he'd heard and been taught proved to be just a story. Rarely did the history books mention how the war had been used by Sheev Palpatine to consolidate power and turn the Republic into a military dictatorship, but learning about it had soured his view of the entire conflict.

So, when he started hearing mentions of "clones" on the holo, he was sure that he was simply imagining things. As it was repeated again and again however, he'd turn up the volume, and his expression shifted to surprise. He was struggling to believe what he was hearing, and for a brief moment he simply wondered if the Herald was just openly publishing lies. More likely was the story of them buying into a crackpot story with no evidence just to capitalize on viewership. But at the mention of the Kaminoan government demanding the return of their property, Claudias' mouth finally hung agape.

The middle aged historian grabbed his datapad, and switched to his social account. Typing frantically, he'd @The Hyperlane Herald, writing, "This development is absolutely fascinating. This could give the galactic historical community insight into one of the most important wars in galactic history, and allow us to explore the period from the perspective of an eye witness fighter. The personal memoirs of generals and admirals are well documented from this period, but rare is the opportunity to contact someone who fought boots on the ground. I would personally love to meet with this so called clone, if he is indeed what he claims to be."
