After short-lived "discussion" and an impulsive, likely regrettable, decision on my end— I've considered re-establishing another fancy-schmancy news network thread that can review the major events or incidents of the past several weeks or month, similar to that of Czerka by the lovely @Zaphod Norblebrox. And while I understand there's another broadcasting thread (cough), let's face it: @Darasuum sux. That, and it hasn't been updated for sometime.

Jokes aside, not kidding 'bout this. I've likewise thought about lacing some propaganda or censorship into the occasional broadcast too, of course, given the fact that the Empire currently rules the Core and whatnot. Still, any and all stories are welcome for submission. I mean, that's pretty much the only reason why I've started this "Interest Check," to see if anyone else has opinions, ideas, or stories to provide.

I've always liked the this sort of idea for RP forums like ours, it's an easy way for new members of the site, or returning ones, to get a leg up on what's been going on around the galaxy. It also gives insight into threads and events that people might have missed, as few of us read even half of the threads that are going on at any given time, though I know I'm not alone in my attempts.

You could mention rising tension in the Corellian Sector as organized terrorism is on the rise, I'm assuming the Empire wouldn't want to give the Insurgency legitimacy by openly declaring them a threat. More information can be found here: Link

I doubt the Empire would want any mention of it, but I can only assume the Jedi Order would be spearheading the restoration efforts on Ithor. In other Jedi news relating somewhat to Ithor, the Jedi have started to take a foothold on Ord Mantell in the mission pack House of the Rising Sun, I know both of these threads have been finished, You Don't Own Me, and Born to Be Wild, though I'm unsure if the third one, Don't Bring Me Down, is finished or not, though I know it is nearing it's end. The Empire would likely use this to further their propaganda that the Jedi are pushing into the Core Worlds and I can see Imperial citizens living in slight fear that the Jedi might attempt an attack on Coruscant.

With the failed attempt at invading Mandalorian space, you could mention the faith in the Imperial cause starting to wain in the farther reaches of the Sith Empire, specifically in the southern sectors of the Inner Rim of Sith space. With the rising Insurgency and Blackbirds presence in the galactic south, it'd make sense that there could be a rise in criminal activity in those parts. Along the eastern border of Sith space, near Jedi territory on Onderon and along the border of Mandalorian space, I could see riots taking place after the Sith defeat, with world's less inclined to accept subjugation under sith rule becoming much more politically dangerous.

There's also the Jedi presence in Hutt space to consider, the Order has been slowly moving towards dismantling Hutt influence by targeting the crime lords, and the Shadow Syndicate has been doing likewise in an attempted power grab. With all this upheaval from the normal criminal activities of Hutt space, all those pirates, smugglers, thieves, and bounty hunters might be wandering around the galaxy looking for some other cesspool to hide in. With the rising tide of piracy to the southwest of the Core, via the Blackbirds, and the social instability within the Core worlds themselves, we could see a tide of criminals moving from Hutt space coreward, which would be causing problems.

There's also the Jedi attack on Ziost, which if your inclined to write this out as an actual news broadcast would likely be your breaking news/top story of your opening segment. Even with Imperial propaganda, it's pretty bleak news for the fearful Imperial citizenry, but hey, that's what makes it feel real.​

Thread Overview: After peaceful negotiation, Ithor was formally surrendered to Grand Master Pelora in return for the release of Solomon Lok's Legion and civilian employees. The horrible crimes by the Jedi Grand Master was briefly discussed wherein the Empire acquired moral superiority in the battle for Ithor. The Jedi Army pretended to meet the Empire's show of good faith in sending civilian ships for the delivery, yet did not fail to send a military fleet along as well masquerading as 'escort'. This once again proves the 'Army of the Light' are the bad guys.

Make of that what you will, @Deviant, but the Empire sees a lot of propaganda value. Interview with the Imperial negotiator (and Moff of Coruscant) at the Republica 500 in Coruscant is available.

I would also appreciate a shout-out to [surl=http://www.thestarwarsrp.com/forum/index.php?threads/informative-state-of-the-legion.75783/]the State of the Legion[/surl] and presenting the Empire in a way that it authors fair planetary laws, which clearly sets it apart from the Sith Order and the Sith Brotherhood of old.

Just keep in mind that HNN is under strict censorship from the Empire (trying to be as realistic as possible), so be wary of propaganda, etc.

Also, while I did just make a "Breaking News" report, I'll have a proper broadcast up once all the battles for Ziost have concluded (depending on who wins). Just keep in mind that HNN is gonna be laced with Imperial propaganda, but I'm sure you already know that. Thank you for the stories!
