Shipping Yards
~Mandalore~

The Void Serpents was a means to an end. A smaller faction within their ranks, the Temple of the Outsider, had recently elected a new Grand Master. With her new role, Evelyn Tenebris, had gone to Mandalore to make a weapons purchase. She "borrowed" one of their heavy cruisers and docked it within their holds. She'd been given a grand amount of coin to use for her troops. Walking out of the ship's cargo bay, she would look for her contact with the Mando'a army who she was buying the shipment from. Everything had been agreed up front, but Evelyn was naturally going to try to barter a lower price. Her flirty nature was good for that, and when it failed (not likely) she'd use the Force to push the rest of the way. It was a very rare occurrence that Evelyn Tenebris failed to get her way.

She was dressed in a rather sexy getup which still served as armor where it counted. The chest plate was the thickest part to keep the major organs protected while still held a shiny, leathery look to make it seem sexy. The same material, though not as thick, was over her forearms and shins. Underneath the armor from her neck down was a tight silky fabric which was woven with some scatterweave thread. Her shoulders however had a tiny opening in the fabric which showed off her serpent tattoo on her right arm. On her back were two weapons which would be visible to any who caught sight of her. The first was a simple katana on her shoulder which could combat a lightsaber for it was made of phrik. The second weapon was a more exotic choice of blades as it was circular. This ring-like blade, known as a chakram, could be thrown like a disk and returned to the user. Force-grab was also a rather useful trait to have in this circumstance. But that still held the challenge of catching the spinning blade as it returned. The user would have to learn to grab the ring by the center rim while it spun without losing a finger. Two of these blades sat against her back and could also go head to head with a lightsaber, though neither blade could withstand continued stress.

Ever since the rise of the Mandalorian Dominion Prime Minister Almec had been keen enough to begin nationalizing the local construction yards, quickly grabbing hold of CCT, Kalevala shipworks, MandalMotors and its myriad subsidiaries, amongst others as well. There was some resistance to the move of course, but the threat of sending Mandalorian commandos and massive restrictions brought most to heel, and those who still seemed hesitant would quickly find themselves in a meeting with one of the Dominion's officials to politely convince them. In many cases the Dominion would send representatives to check up on the manufacturers. Today that man was Ral "Asterion" Vizsla, he was there to both check up on MandalMotors' shipyards in orbit over and to discuss a deal with some member of a small group called the Void Serpents about a sale of goods.

The Mandalorian warrior strode tall down the disaster corridor, the blue-white lights reflecting off of the metallic surfaces and his cobalt and burnished gold armor. Under his left armpit his helmet sat tucked away allowing him easy access to his sword or his blaster pistols in the event that this representative decided to get stupid and squirrelly in a station with armed Mandalorians. Glancing out of a nearby viewport Ral could see the ugly mass of an Empyreal escorted by two U-class frigates and a handful of corvettes and snubfighters. It was a symbol of Mandalorian power, and soon massive war machines for the Dominion would be rolling off the production lines and hitting the war front.

Entering the cargo bay, Ral quickly saw the woman he was supposed to meet. She was short, very short. Her hair was dark like jet, and her skin a pale alabaster. She was wearing armor that was markedly different than anything Ral had seen, and she had a small sword on her as well. This would be an interesting encounter. Stepping up to her, he smiled politely. His hair was now short like how it had been, and his beard was trimmed back to make him look respectable and not like some island barbarian. Extending a hand forward, he finally spoke. "Hello, welcome to Mandalore. You must be miss Tenebris? I am Ral Vizsla, we spoke about you procuring an arms shipment for your organization?" Motioning towards the door, Ral would lead the woman to a conference room if she would allow it.

"Evelyn Tenebris," she would reply with a friendly smile. Her hand outstretched to shake his. He would then motion for her to follow him to the conference room, but she would not be following him. Instead she slid over to him and wrapped her arm around his and *allowed* him to escort her there instead, much like a gentleman ought to do with a lady.

Trying to make small talk, "You've got quite a large establishment going on here, don't you guys? These ships are for the war effort? Seems like overkill from down here."

"Evelyn," Ral repeated with a nod, returning the friendly smile as she took his hand. As he turned to lead her to where they could discuss the arms trade in private he suddenly felt a thin arm snake its way between the narrow gap between his own arm and his torso. With a rather surprised look crossing his face momentarily, the Mandalorian scion accepted this new arrangement, remembering an archaic custom his father had told him about some of the worlds outside of Mandalore practiced; a nobleman would often accompany a lady of status around by the arm to protect her from brigands and the like, and sometimes as a symbol of courtship. While Evelyn was attractive and lithe for a diminutive female, Ral did not believe this woman was trying to suggest that they should become a serious thing after having just met each other; at least that's what he hoped. So, he surmised she simply wished him to satisfy her own customary routines. It wasn't a Mandalorian custom, but he could do that.

Pulling his arm close to his body so that Evelyn would have to stand closer to him and it would appear that he was willingly leading this fair green-eyed lady into the facility. As she began to speak, Ral canted his head towards her, so she would know she had his attention, and listened as intently as he could without running into people or things. Smirking slightly as she as her questions, he gave her a casual shrug. "The Dominion controls several sectors of space in the Galaxy which we must defend, but Mandalore is our home, and we must ensure that important assets like this one are well protected. So, yes, everything you see here is for the war effort; war is in our blood... it's who we are as much as your viridian eyes are a part of you. It may seem like overkill to you now, but when you come to understand the size of our space, and the means we'll go to defend it from the Republic, Jedi, or Sith, you will understand why we have chosen to 'go big' as they say."

Ral went silent for a few moments, allowing Evelyn a chance to respond if she wished and giving himself a moment to think on anything she might say and respond. Then, he would glance at her fully and smile, "So, miss Evelyn, what can you tell me about yourself and the people you work for? I mean, besides that you are a fine female specimen." He'd give her a playful wink, "What sort of things does your organization do that they would need Imperial manufactured weapons?"

"The Dominion controls --- chosen to 'go big' as they say."

Evelyn smirked when he complimented her eyes and would blink several times to amplify her charm. Right now she didn't need to use her Force powers to sway this male, her own femininity would do just find. "So you like my eyes? My I'm flattered." She giggled for a moment and then continued.

"I understand the *war is in our blood* thing. My family, the Tenebris clan, we live to fight. We are hunters. Proud warriors. Our kind has met many Mandalorian men in our time, though it is rare to do so. We are small. Part of the reason I'm here today."

"So, miss Evelyn, what can you tell me about yourself and the people you work for? I mean, besides that you are a fine female specimen. What sort of things does your organization do that they would need Imperial manufactured weapons?"

"Mr Vizla!" She would say with a gasp and then playfully mimic some southern bell tone of voice. "Are you flirting with little ol me? I dare you you'd best be buying me a drink before you go carrying on like that." Again she would giggle but this time snort as she laughed. She couldn't hold a straight face.

"Sorry, I'm just teasing you. I know this is just business." A little lie to make him want it. "The organization I work for is slow to the advance. They are still stuck on world, their technology decades behind. I'm here to rectify that problem. We need guns. We need ships. They wish to spread and conquer Zakuul and unify the system as one. Their moons aren't even recognized as their own because they haven't been claimed. It's sad really. But the pay is good."

"Heh," Ral chortled back as he glanced at the woman for a moment, looking into her eyes and giving her a warm smile, "They're a very vibrant and stunning color. Very rich and striking. So, yes. I like them, they are... nice." It was a modest choice of words, chosen precisely to convey the implication that Ral actually thought much more of them, which he did, but if Evelyn wanted to hear it, she would have to work it out of him.

Keeping a polite smile on his face as she spoke of her family, the Tenebris clan, and interesting name as his mind recalled history lectures and lessons on language. If he recalled correctly the translation roughly corresponded to darkness, or at least that's what Ral thought it meant. Still, it was a curious choice for a family name; the son of Vizsla would have desired to meet the founders of that clan to understand why they chose such a macabre name. "Interesting that you say your clan is small and that is part of the reason you are here... would you like to expand on that at all? And I would love to hear some of these stories of your clan meeting my kind."

As Evelyn feigned surprise and shock at his compliment, the Mandalorian grinned and acted innocent and naive. "Me? Flirt with you? Nonsense, I keep things strictly professional at all times. But if you'd like a drink, I'm sure one could be arranged for afterwards if you'd like." He'd say playfully giving her another teasing wink.

With the emerald-eyed woman explaining a little of her reasoning of being there, Ral nodded in acknowledgment, stopping in his stride at a doorway where he pressed a button to allow them access. Beyond was a room with a long austere table of Mandalorian design, with chairs surrounding every facing. Beyond the table was a large window that yielded an excellent view of the space beyond. Escorting Evelyn to the end where he pulled a chair out for her to sit down in, pushing it forward once she had done so and taking a seat diagonally from her, Ral cupped his hands together as his blue eyes looked at her, studying her for a moment.

"That's a particularly curious explanation. Well, if there is anything us Mandalorians are good for it is making weapons, though, obviously, with the war, most of our stock is going towards being prepared for that, we do maintain a small amount to sell to others who are interested. I am also, on a personal level, very interested in establishing more open diplomatic relations with your organization if it would suit both of our needs. Now, what sort of weapons and how much are you looking to buy?"

The son of Vizla sure was a gentleman. Ral would lead her into the conference room and push her chair in for her. She would smile and do a little shoulder shrug, a thing she did when she was excited. No one ever treated her so politely. But her brain caught up with her and told her to behave so she coughed and tried to make it seem like she hadn't just gotten so excited over the fact he had simply helped her into her chair.

"That's a particularly curious --- looking to buy?"

"Well as we spoke over our messages I sent you a list of supplies that we needed. We need rifles, we need cannons, and we need something with a little more of a bang. I was hoping you'd have everything ready for me?"

You'll have to forgive me. I briefly mentioned in my first post that everything was already agreed upon and she was just here to pick it up and deliver payment...hopefully trying to lower her cost if possible. I'm not good at weapons and tech stuff so I kind of breezed over the details. Sorry.

"Indeed you did!" Ral flashed a smile back at Evelyn as he watched her reaction carefully. She seemed like a woman who knew what she wanted in life; that was a good thing, it meant that she would be determined, Ral could respect that. The trick would be getting her to want something she didn't already want. Realizing he had forgotten at least one courtesy, the Mandalorian blushed slightly. "I'm sorry, I'm afraid your beauty has addled my mind and my manners... would you like something to drink? Caf, tea, water?"

As he stood he looked down at the small and petite female, still smiling as he began walking over to the nearby wall, waiting for Evelyn to respond. If she wanted something that he could provide there he would get it, if she wanted something else, something with alcohol, he would send a request for it. Pouring himself a glass of water he would return and sit down, fishing a datapad out of one of his pockets. Reading over it for a few seconds he frowned and then gazed at Evelyn. "Everything you requested is ready, all we need is your confirmation and we can deliver it to your ship where your people can load it up. Was there anything else you wanted? Anything you have a need of? Will this be a one time trade, or would you be interested in making this a reoccurring exchange?"

"Indeed you did! "I'm sorry, I'm afraid your beauty has addled my mind and my manners... would you like something to drink? Caf, tea, water?"

"Caf please!" she excitedly called while she squirmed in her seat. She, like her mother, was totally addicted to the stuff. "Extra sugar, no cream." He would bring her the drink and she had to stop herself from guzzling it down in one gulp. She was supposed to be a lady and a proper one at that. So she stopped and set the glass down, but kept her hands coiled around the warm cup. If not for her armor she would have been cold in here.

"For now, we just need the weapons." She would say honestly. "However...now that you mention future trade...." Evelyn smiled and blinked several times as she batted her eyelashes. "I was...hoping we might come to a sort of agreement. Your prices are pretty steep. As I'm sure you know. I was hoping, that....if everything pans out, maybe you drop your prices. This would give me a little more flexibility to purchase stuff next time around. Think we could maybe come to some kind of arrangement?"

"Fair enough," Ral smiled when Evelyn replies that they just needed the weapons; he wasn't expecting much, but a good businessman always asked, and besides Ral was trying to be respectable at the moment. However, when the green-eyed lady mentioned that she hoped they could come to an agreement, Ral's eyebrows perked up and he leaned in to listen intently to what she had to say. What she was asking wasn't too hard to fulfill, after all, they had increased their prices due to the limited availability of stock. It was supply and demand, with most of their production geared towards the war effort, they had less stock to sell commercially. Less supplies, same demand, prices increased. Still, Ral couldn't just roll over in front of this woman because she asked, even if she was striking, and he saw an opportunity in her proposal; couldn't make it too easy and make her suspect that he had ulterior motives after all.

"So, you want me to cut our prices on the hope you'll come back for future business?" The man chuckled and offered Evelyn a smirk. It wasn't a no by a long shot, and he even was going to accept her offer, after a little bit of haggling, of course; he was interested in seeing what he could get out of her that wasn't monetary. Information was what he was curious about. Information and allies. Both of which Evelyn could provide. Cupping his hands, Ral gazed into her eyes. "So, tell me what you are thinking. I'm more than willing to come to a fair arrangement, but surely you have to give me more than just your word that you'll come back when you need more. Not that I doubt you, but something could happen which prevents you from returning. So what else are you willing to offer up to prove you want a continuing and friendly relationship with the Dominion?"

Here's where Evelyn would run into a wall. Truth be told, there wasn't much she could offer Ral. She had little resources to work with, and what she had was worthless to someone like him who worked for an organization that had an abundance of just about all monetary value. Here's where the Force would come to play. She wouldn't *directly* use it on him, but she began to let her aura reach out in an attempt to charm him, make her seem more friendly and trustworthy.

"I'm sure if it's my word you want we can come to some sort of contract. Control over territory perhaps? Now we currently don't have much to give, but once *our* dominion gets under foot then we'll have more to trade. But something tells me you aren't looking to expand so far out. Someone like you...wants information. My clan perhaps? I won't betray my brothers, but maybe I can give you me. At least to study. I'll give you whatever information you want, so long as my people get what they need. That's really about all I can give....unless of course you're looking for something more....personal?"

Evelyn's offer was certainly interesting, intriguing even. He wondered what he might learn from this woman. There were certain implications and ideas that ran through his mind when she spoke as a number of images ran through his head, each more pleasing than the last for the Mandalorian. In fact, her suggestion of him wanting something more personal made him blush; the idea had crossed his mind once or twice. Taking a few moments to compose himself, Ral took a deep breath and smiled politely at Evelyn. The possibilities she was offering him would grant him information and power, and in truth, open the doors of even more possibilities down the road. Cocking his head to the side, Ral gazed at Evelyn, looking her up and down and trying to read her, wondering to himself if she had an ulterior motive, or if this was really just about her securing weapons for her own group.

"Very well, miss Evelyn. Your proposal has me intrigued at the very least. I cannot possibly agree to a business arrangement such as this merely for personal interests and desires. Perhaps you and I can start the beginning of a relationship between our two factions which will be mutually beneficial? Once you grow strong you can be our allies and help us in our wars." The truth was that if they didn't ally themselves with the Dominion and proved to be an obstacle later on they would be removed, so Ral hoped that they would join with together. They didn't need to be enemies after all. To this end, the son of Mandalore chose to start by establishing a relationship with the woman sitting across from him. "So, I will tell you what, miss Evelyn, if you wish, why don't we go to dinner tonight? I would certainly like to get to know you better and learn more of your faction. Plus, I'm sure your company would be most enjoyable. How does that sound?"

"Between factions, of course! It is only natural to do as such."

She would smirk and hide it behind her glass while taking another sip of the caf he had brought her. It seemed her charm was working after all. Once she composed herself she would set the mug down and brush some of her hair behind her ear. "Dinner sounds lovely. Shall I return in a couple of hours then? I still wish to inspect the goods you've got packed up for me. I want to see what my money is buying."

"Good, I shall arrange a discount on the basis of your willingness, and the assumption that this will be the first of many such purchases." With a grin on his face, Ral nodded in response to Evelyn's answer. It was about what he expected and hoped her answer would be; this could be a very lucrative deal if it all went well, and on top of it all, the beginnings of a very interesting and... productive friendship. "Meeting in a couple of hours sounds like a grand idea. Would you like an escort back to your ship then?"

The Mandalorian would stand and offer out his hand to the short woman. Assuming she would take it, he would lead her, arm-in-arm like before, back to her ship where the shipment of weapons would be waiting for them in the hold. Releasing Evelyn he'd give her a polite smile, "So, two hours? Wear something nice. Even some Mandalorian establishments have an expectation of decorum." Making an obvious display of looking her lithe body up and down he grinned and added, "Though I'm sure anything you'll put on will be nice."

Two hours passed and Ral made sure to make reservations at one of Sundari's finer establishments called Darasuum Briikasla, or Eternal Happiness. When the time came, the son of house Vizsla returned to the the hold where Evelyn's ship was docked, now wearing a dark blue suit of Mandalorian cut with a matching waistcoat and a white shirt. On his person he kept a B-8R pistol tucked away, out of view, and otherwise looked like a smashing gentleman waiting on a lady.

"Good, I shall arrange a discount on the basis of your willingness, and the assumption that this will be the first of many such purchases."

"The first of many," she repeated and toasted her glass to him...or mug...whatever.

"Meeting in a couple of hours sounds like a grand idea. Would you like an escort back to your ship then?"

"Why thank you," Evelyn commented as he helped her out of her chair and led her out of the room and back to her ship. SHe kept a warm smile on her cheeks as her eyes scanned the halls for anything she might have missed the first time. It was the fighter inside her, always searching for traps and security cameras, and things of that nature.

"So, two hours? Wear something nice. Even some Mandalorian establishments have an expectation of decorum. Though I'm sure anything you'll put on will be nice."

With a wink she would turn away from him after saying, "Like you won't even recognize me..."

Two hours might seem like a long time for a man, but for a woman it was over in the blink of an eye. Evelyn hurriedly ran to her room once the door of her ship closed behind her. She threw off her clothes and dashed to the shower to make herself look extra impressionable. She couldn't leave a single imperfection for her body was truly her greatest weapon. Once refreshed and sparkling she would head to her closet and start the endless debate of What do I wear? Several outfits later she finally emerged from her closet with an idea forming in her head. She would style her hair, touch up her makeup, then finally dress in a lovely blue blouse and long blank skirt that cut to the side past her knees. She snapped a pair of high-heels on her feet lacing the thin strap over her pale foot. Her nails, green from her favorite colored polished, sparkled in the light as she walked. She would move down the ramp and toss a smile at the Mandalorian waiting for her.

"My my you clean up nice, Miss Vizla."

There was a chuckle from Ral at Evelyn's words, and he smiled warmly at her as his eyes took in her attractive, yet modest, clothing choice. She would definitely fit in where they were going to go to as she was both beautiful, but not overly sexualized in her appearance. Even on a world of warriors there was an expectation of modesty when applicable, and at a high-class restaurant was one of them. As he approached her, he gave her an obvious "up and down" look, grinned, and offered her his arm. "You don't look so bad yourself! I'm sure you'll be the envy of many a lady at dinner tonight!"

Leading the woman out of the hold that contained her ship, Ral would move along open and direct routes, though if Evelyn was still trying to be wary of her surroundings she would notice the almost-paranoid amount of potential ambush coves, fire points, security cameras, blast doors, Ray shield projectors, and panels indicated that automated blaster turrets were present. Mandalorians were warriors, and their engineers and architects were no jokes when it came to designing defenses; they made certain that an attacker would pay for every step with blood and lives. Such was the Mandalorian way.

As they walked, Ral would look down at the woman who was easily a full foot shorter than him even in heels. The height difference was amusing, almost laughable even. "So, Evelyn, you offered yourself up as part of our arrangement. What are you willing to share or do? I am most curious to learn more about you, I will admit. To learn where you came from and know more about your clan and their customs. Of course, this is a conversation, not an interrogation, so feel free to ask me any questions you'd like, too."

The two would walk for some time in silence at first. As expected, her eyes were wary of potential dangers but she tired not to let them be noticeable. She didn't want Ral thinking she was scared or worried. She was supposed to be trusting him and she would do just that. But in her experience, trust was not the same as foolishness. One could never be too careful.

"I have offered myself to be part of your company," she would share. "How you take this is as you wish. Just keep in mind, I know where you're hiding your gun." She gave him a sly smile and returned her attention to the path ahead of them. "You wish to know about my clan. Well the first miracle most people are curious about is myself. I am born from two clans, the Tenebris - my father, and the Ra'Kul - my mother. My Pai was a Nohgri. He was the strongest warrior of us all. Powerful and dangerous creatures they are. My mother was human. I am what became of their union."

She would then reach over with her free hand and gently run her nails down his wrist and hand. They would feel like sharp knives, "Having Nohgri blood I share my Pai's genetic traits. Nails as sharp as the finest tools. My eyes, keener than a feline's. My teeth -" she would pull her cheek back and show him her bicuspids which were pointed like a wolf's fangs. "-nastier than a rabid dog."

Raising an eyebrow at Evelyn as she explained her earlier statement with the added addendum that she allegedly knew where his gun was, Ral let out an airy chuckle as he gazed down at her. "Well, if you're implying I would do something dreadful and unchivalrous, banish it from your mind. If you're suggesting what I think you are, I want you to know I work for it, and certainly such a thing is not on my mind, though..." he'd give her another once over. "I wouldn't mind enjoying the company of a gorgeous woman in such a way."

Ral would leave the subject at that. The ball was in Evelyn's court now, and he certainly wouldn't press the subject, that wouldn't be much like a gentleman, or very honorable of him. Still, he enjoyed the notion of putting such thoughts in her head, and while Ral also entertained the thought, he could keep control of himself like any disciplined warrior.

As Evelyn moved on talking about the miracle of her conception and birth, and exactly how it was a miracle, he found himself rather marveled. Nohgri were not the most attractive or charismatic of species, though he supposed there were stranger things to be attracted to, Dugs being one of them. He wouldn't have known except perhaps by her emerald eyed, the beautiful verdant color was certainly mesmerising. As she showed him the results of her parents' union, Ral would feel her nails like knives running down the skin of his real arm, though he would show no discomfort when she did so. Such things were old friends to him by now. And he even smiled when he saw her teeth. Finally, he spoke, his tone awed by what she was.

"So your parents are dangerous and powerful warriors, and if they passed such traits to you, I wonder what else they passed on. I am already under the assumption that you are dangerous in your own right. What did your mother give you then? Your beauty? Your charisma and irresistible personality? Truly, Evelyn, you are the best of both worlds. I am impressed, and eager to know more about you... with such traits, you should have been born a Mandalorian, you would have made an amazing warrior as one of us." Ral said, a combination of his sincerity and statesman's guile and skill. He wanted to make her an ally, perhaps even a closer one than her faction might become, and as a friend she could be a great companion, and perhaps more. Who knew?

If you're suggesting what I think you are, I want you to know I work for it, and certainly such a thing is not on my mind, though... I wouldn't mind enjoying the company of a gorgeous woman in such a way."

"Oh you'll work for it alright," she said as she teased him. But like he, she didn't wish to dwell on that subject.

I am impressed, and eager to know more about you... with such traits, you should have been born a Mandalorian, you would have made an amazing warrior as one of us."

"Mr. Vizla, you flatter me. Yes I can say my mother gave me her beauty, but it is more than that." She wanted to be honest with him, but didn't quite feel like telling him of her Dark nature. She wasn't too sure of how he'd react hearing she could use the Dark side of the Force much like that of a Sith. So she'd change the subject. "Are you aware that my grandfather was good friends of the Mandalorians? Mhmm. His name was Clovis Lighthawk. I don't know much about him, just that most of his fortune was because of trades with you guys. That's part of the reason I wished to come here myself. I hoped some of that good blood would linger and work toward my fortune."

The Mandalorian could only grin and chuckle at Evelyn's comment that he'd have to work for it. As they walked he would enjoy the feeling of a woman on his arm, especially a beautiful one like her. As she responded, confirming that her mother gave her the beauty she had, and more, Ral could only give her an inquisitive look, but it seemed that she did not wish to share more at the moment. He merely hummed thoughtfully, curiously at what she had meant. Possibilities ran through his mind from wondrous to mundane. However, before he could let his thoughts run away with his imagination, Ral raised an eyebrow as the woman spoke of Mandalorians.

"I did not know that," he stated with fascination in his voice, watching the woman next to him curiously as he began to speak again, "Clovis Lighthawk you say? I did not know him personally, though it hardly sounds like a name easily forgotten. Perhaps together we can learn more about him, I'm sure there is a record of him or a Mandalorian that remembers him here on Mandalore. As far as your good fortune, so far it seems like it is holding strong, though I wouldn't mind if some of it turned my way!"

There would be a wink from the Mandalorian as they came to a waiting ship which would take them into the heart of Sundari and where the restaurant was. Helping Evelyn into the speeder, Ral would follow closely behind settling into the pilot's seat. As they took off, Ral glanced at his companion and asked her, "So, what do you know of my people? What would you like to know?"
