HULK 854
INFORMATION
Hulk 854 is the remains of an ancient shipyard, one of countless such derelicts which orbit the planet Barancar, reminders of its long-faded industrial past. So old that its true name has been lost, Hulk 854 is only identified these days as a track number in a Barancar Orbital Authority database, considered little more than a hazard to astrogation if it is thought of at all.
Built in the shape of a crescent, Hulk 854 is some 1 kilometer in length, with a combination administrative/residential block and archaic dual-reactor fusion power-plant at one end. The station's long hull once housed an enormous production line, and the facility is believed to have once produced Barancese Asterines, the signature starfighter of Xim the Despot's feared navy. Most of the machinery that composed the line - along with the majority of the station's other fittings - is long gone, stripped by millennia worth of scrappers and parts-hunters, although there are still some surprising discoveries to be made in odd corners.
In the present day, Hulk 854 waits in a largely forgotten parking orbit. It would be forgotten still if Helen Holcomb, owner of the recently displaced Holcomb Garages, had not been looking for a place to set up shop after leaving Kessel due to the recent Hutt takeover. For Helen and her staff, Hulk 854 will do nicely indeed; under Barancese law, anyone who can lay claim to one of the orbital derelicts is granted ownership.
Unfortunately for Helen and company, Hulk 854 is not precisely empty. Since time immemorial, the ancient shipyards of Barancar have been a haunt for pirates and other criminals; to claim a future for her company, Helen and her friends will have to chase out the squatters...
INTENT
To create a location for Holcomb Garages to run its operations from. I hope to do a thread wherein Helen and her friends clear a pirate gang out of the station in order to claim ownership.
