Gett'se Vizsla had arrived on the planet of Eriadu in search of a rather high value bounty. Rumor had it that the planet was under new ownership, and while life seemed to continue as normal, there was a certain edge to the populace as they went about their lives. Not that whoever ruled the planet mattered to his reason for being there. He had picked up the bounty for a certain rodian named "Preef Callo", and his investigation had all leads pointing to Eriadu.

Wanted by the CorSec for multiple murders and grand theft, the price was further inflated by a generous bonus provided by Czerka. Whatever the rodian had done, he had earned the attention of the galaxy spanning corporation, and not in a good way. While he had never heard of the gunslinger before, he had asked around and it seemed the gangster had begun to develop something of a reputation for being a fast hand with the blaster. Gett'se hoped he was faster.

Paying the hangar guard for his Y-wing, Gett'se entered the city. He was on the hunt now and he needed information, which led him to the spaceport cantina. Entering, he headed straight to the bar. "I'm looking for information." He said to the barman, sliding a few credits across the bar to the man. Money talks.

"The Sullustan, in the corner. Nib Nibbuns, he knows this city better than most." The barman pointed to the short alien sitting alone nursing a glowing blue ale. Giving the barman a nod, he approached the Sullustan.

"I hear you're the one to talk to about what goes on in this city." He said as he stood over the table. Receiving a nod, Gett'se sat across from the Sullustan. "I'm looking for a Rodian. Goes by the name of Preef Callo." He stated simply as he pulled a stack of credits from his pouch, placing them on the table so the Sullustan could see their value but keeping his hand firm on top of them. "What do you know?"

Nib pulled the pouch of credits closer, put his finger in and opened it up a little so he could make an estimate on how much the information was worth. He seemed slightly disappointed. "Only Preef I know is Preef Zaa Fenn," he whispered the last two words as if that should mean something to the Mandalorian. "Let me give you some advice, Mando-" he pulled the strap on the credit pouch and then took it off the table and pocketed it. "We don't mess with the Zaa Fenn on this planet." He shrugged before taking a sip of his blue ale and glancing around the cantina with an anxious eye, "but if you're looking for work," as the Zaa Fenn Crime Family was known to enlist the services of several hired guns recently, "Go over to the Boogaloo Club."

Then he just sat back and crossed his arms. Maybe there was more information available for a few credits more, or perhaps the real information brokers on Eriadu didn't sit around drinking blue ale at the spaceport. The longer the Mandalorian stayed the more dirty looks he'd get, though. People on this planet weren't used to seeing his kind. This was a civilized world and one that still remembered its strong loyalty to the Empire and its aversion towards the mythical warrior people. It was up to the Bounty Hunter, ofcourse... or rather, up to his wallet.

Gett'se listened to the informant. He seemed scared when he whispered the name Zaa Fenn, acted like it was supposed to mean something to the Mandalorian bounty hunter. It didn't.

"Thanks for the warning," He let the credits go, disappointed that his money hadn't bought him much in the way of information. "And the tip. I might just do that." He gave the Sullustan a nod as he stood. Looking around, he noticed the stares that were being cast his way. Not the usual greedy glares he was accustomed to that followed the shine of his beskar-alloy armor. These were looks of disgust, hatred. He wasn't welcome here.

Not one to overstay his welcome, he left the bar. Keeping an eye over his shoulder, he navigated the city somewhat randomly. If the hateful glares had been any indication of the welcome he would receive in this city, he wanted to make sure he hadn't picked up a tail before he got to work.

Once he was fairly certain that nobody had followed him, he found a comfortable alleyway out back of a holonet cafe. It was simple work to slice into the cafe's network from outside with his port scanner. Running a few searches with an automated script, he set the device to compile what it could find in the local networks. The script would ping any information with the keywords; Preef Callo, Preef Zaa Fenn, Zaa Fenn, and Boogaloo Club; and compile them by subject.

He kept his eyes up watching the alley entrances and the rooftops while the scripts did their job. Better safe than sorry.

"What an amazing show in the Boogaloo Club yesterday! Veesa put on an incredible show, showing off her natural flexibility and gorgeous lekku while performing. Boy, did I enjoy that!"

"I asked her to marry me, but she said no." -- "Well, what did you expect!? She's a dancer at the Boogaloo club and you don't even know her!" -- "I know her! I've seen her dance a million times! Veesa and I are soulmates! You just don't understand love."

"Since when are we paying the Zaa Fenn again?" -- "Oh shut it. They're not the old Zaa Fenn. New management." -- "Wait, you don't mean that rodian-"

"You're going to the Boogaloo Club tonight after work?" -- "Nah I can't. Picked up some extra shifts at the factory." -- "Alright, don't overwork yourself eh?"

"One of the customers actually proposed to me at the Boogaloo Club! LOL. If he was handsome and rich I might've even said yes. He wasn't."

"Did you read about that warehouse massacre on the outskirts of town?" -- "Yeah, some government official and his family were butchered, right?" -- "Yeah, I have a buddy on the force and he said some corpses were actually beheaded. The Zaa Fenn were never this brutal before-" -- "yeah that new enforcer isn't kidding."

"I swear! It was a huge cyborg and four of those huge security droids going up to the Zaa Fenn penthouse. You didn't hear anything about this Nib?" -- "Huge cyborg eh? Could be Haro Mothraki, boss of the Mothraki Crime Family. You think Preef is bad, but that cyborg is much -much- worse."

"Did you hear about the Masa Vay" -- "What that restaurant on top of Eriadu City where only the ultra-rich can afford to dine?" -- "Yes! There was this big ruckus last week because these underdressed aliens just walked in like they owned the place. Not pretty aliens, but a rodian and a Trandoshan!" -- "Kriff, shush your yap. That was Preef Zaa Fenn. He might as well own the place at the rate he's going."

"This is the Six 'o clock news! The notorious streetgang that's been terrorizing the inner city speeder lanes by blowing orange smoke everywhere has been dealt with. Security forces just couldn't keep up with the culprits. Well, folks. Today we're able to confirm that thanks to Marissa Zaa Fenn, the Orange Haze gang is finally in custody."

"Are you sure? Absolutely positive?" -- "Yes I told you, I saw Preef Callo here on Eriadu. Like I could ever forget him after he shot his way through an entire Pyke outpost on Kessel." -- "I heard about his duel with that Pyke enforcer," -- "Yeah? I was there. I swear, he's the fastest quick-draw in the Outer Rim. If I had blinked I'd have missed the whole thing."

"You actually caught a glimpse of the new Zaa Fenn boss?" -- "Yeah, told you I saw Marissa Zaa Fenn. She's a beauty." -- "Isn't she dating that rodian? I heard they never leave each other's side." -- "Oh Preef Callo? They're partners, but not in that sense. I think it's more that she's the brains and looks and he's the blaster. Brutal reputation he got."

"Hey Veesa, what's up?" -- "By the Force I'm so happy! My little sister back on Ryloth was kidnapped by the Xaa Hafven to work for the Hutts on Nar Shaddaa." -- "Oh, but that's terrible!" -- "No, you see, my mom said that some rodian, Preef Callo, came into the Horny Lekku and promised all girls would get back home safe. My little sis is alright. Thanks to Preef Callo."

"OH MY-" -- "HAVE YOU EVER DONE THE Catharese love-knot!?" -- "IT'S AMAZING!"

"Ugh! This fat Quarren just paid triple for a catharese love-knot with Misa and Shara, but now they can't get the oil out of their fur!"

It didn't take long for the scripts to do their job. The port scanner pinged quietly, grabbing Gett'se's attention from his lookout. After looking at the pad, the Mandalorian bounty hunter wondered if including "Boogaloo Club" in his search had been a mistake, seeing as it netted a lot of unnecessary chatter about the club. That and a few sex positions he had never heard of before. Seemed like a popular place.

His search wasn't fruitless however, and a few things stood out among the chatter. Zaa Fenn, new and old. The new Zaa Fenn seemed to have a Rodian involved in the leadership. A warehouse massacre involving government officials and the new Zaa Fenn, led by a new enforcer for the gang. A cyborg from the Mothraki crime family, possibly their leader, meeting with the new leadership of the Zaa Fenn. The name Preef was involved in that one as well, it seemed Nib Nibbuns hadn't been entirely forthcoming. Though from the scattered reports maybe he had reason to be afraid.

The more he read the more certain he was that Preef Callo and Preef Zaa Fenn were one and the same. The reputation the rodian had developed was one of ruthlessness enforced with a fast draw and twitchy trigger finger. He discounted the one account of saving some girls as a fluke, even a broken chrono told the right time twice.

Stowing the port scanner, he glanced around the alleyway once more. This job just got more complicated. A small time gunslinger part of a small time gang robbing banks was one thing. It seemed however that this gang, led by a certain Marissa Zaa Fenn, was making big strides in the organized crime on the planet. And Preef Callo was her right hand holding the blaster.

He would have to be cautious.

A few locations stood out to Gett'se that he might have to investigate. The Boogaloo club seemed the most likely choice, though he had no evidence that Preef actually frequented the place other than Nibs word. There was also the Zaa Fenn penthouse which might take some digging to find, the most likely place to find Preef, but also likely the most heavily guarded. He didn't favor the idea of shooting through half the Zaa Fenn just to get to the acquisition.

In the end, he started walking to the warehouse on the outskirts of town. It seemed to be the most recent of the Rodian's exploits. He wanted to get eyes on the acquisition before he started blasting through Zaa Fenn thugs if that's what he had to do. If the warehouse had any sort of security system he could pull the data and maybe match the face to the one on his bounty puck.

Or just see another Rodian on camera and assume it was Preef. They all tended to look the same.

The warehouse was nondescript. There was a landing pad on the second floor, but there wasn't much else to see from the outside and the only was in seemed to be through a large locked door with a seal attached to it. <"Eriadu Police Department: No Trespass"> evidently Gett'se would get in a lot of bantha-poodo with the local government were he to break that seal to have a look inside.

The warehouse district on the edge of Eriadu City was nothing special either. Just some warehouses with speeder vans parked outside and the occasional speeder travelling through. If the Mandalorian bounty hunter had wanted to find something here he'd be disappointed.

Had he been here on the same day the massacre took place he'd have witnessed an impressively efficient cargo hauling effort by the Zaa Fenn-aligned smugglers. Unfortunately he was about three days late.

Suddenly Gett'se datapad would chirp up again with a new message from his algorithm.

"Did you see that Matukai? I heard Preef saying that he met him on Mandalore or something." -- "Really? Gosh, they've actually gone places! I've never left Eriadu....City. I've never even left the city." -- "Hey, isn't that Preef right there?"

It seemed confirmed that the rodian was at least on the planet now, but where this message originated from was unclear. Perhaps the Boogaloo Nightclub?

Gett'se didn't have to prowl around the warehouse long to know that this was going to be a waste of time. The entrances were sealed off by the local authorities, and while he could break through the encryption on seals given enough time, he wasn't sure whatever he might find within would be worth the potential trouble. A quick scope with his port scanner near the walls indicated there wasn't any sort of sophisticated recording equipment inside, and the lack of cameras on the outside of the building probably meant that security within was just as lax.

His pad chirped while he was busy, and a glance indicated that someone had actually just seen the Acquisition somewhere on world. Perhaps Hod Ha'ran walked with him today, for better or for worse.

The next stop was the Boogaloo Nightclub, supposedly a hangout of the Zaa Fenn. Hopefully they were none the wiser to his intentions of nabbing their chief enforcer, but Gett'se wasn't comfortable betting on Nub Nubbins' character. He would be surprised if the informant hadn't turned around and sold them the info that a Mandalorian was on the prowl for Preef Callo.

Arriving at the club, he would scope out the place from an alleyway across the street for a few minutes, watching the comings and goings of its various patrons. He had no desire to rush in. Patience was often a key skill in his profession.

The Boogaloo Nightclub was bright. Neon signs out front made no mistake that this was the hottest club in Eriadu City... well, outside of the elite human circles of the planet anyway. The Boogaloo was where one could walk in wearing armor, where aliens were welcome and their company sometimes even preferred. Gett'se would find more aliens on the streets nearby than he had anywhere else on the planet, but it was also obvious that more than some of them were shady as kark. One even walked in wearing a full-face helmet as if it was the most normal thing to do when visiting a nightclub.

Inside, about halfway through, Preef sat sulking over a glass of imported Hutta sewer-riped shine. He was facing the door like he usually, but he wasn't being overly cautious. Not anymore. Eriadu city was beginning to rust his senses a bit, moving from the club to the penthouse and back. He hadn't been able to visit his bantha ranch on Takodana for a few weeks now and he was a little worried about those weeds on the west edges of his land. Unfortunately he had promised Marissa he wouldn't leave her side at least until this whole thing with the Sith Order was finalized. Protection was the most important thing for a gang that didn't travel like they used to.

So there he was, ogling that Cathar dancer with the odd oil-stain in her fur, drinking some shine and hoping for some kind of excitement to happen soon. He'd run out of gambling buddies after that unfortunate shoot-out.

Gett'se watched the comings and goings of the club, noting the unsavory figures that seemed to make the place their favored den of debauchery. The humans like himself were few and far between, though he didn't consider himself one of theirs. He was a Mandalorian, and his creed transcended silly concepts like race or ethnicity. He was glad to see however that one figure walked in fully armored including a helmet. While this gave him pause as he considered what sort of trouble he might find inside, he was comforted in the fact that nobody would try to make him take off his helmet. He didn't want to have to beat down the bouncer to get in if he could help it.

Backtracking, he found his way down the street before approaching the club. No need to let them know he had been skulking in the alleyway while watching the doors. Approaching the bouncer, he tried to walk right past him as if he belonged there, confidently. Not a hard thing to do considering he looked confident in everywhere he went, something about wearing the iron skin that set him apart from the rest of the rabble.

If he got past the bouncer without trouble, he would head straight for the bar as he scanned the crowd. He didn't stop as he looked for the acquisition, that might elicit suspicion.

Preef had fond memories of working with Mandalorians back when he dabbled in bounty hunting and had also killed his fair few on their homeplanet, but seeing one on Eriadu was definitely a first. Needless to say that when Preef caught a glimpse of the Mando heading for the bar he rose from his seat, hand never far from his blaster, "Mando!" he instantly recognized the crest on the Mandalorian's armor as being that of clan Vizsla. One of the bounty hunters he had worked with in the past was from that clan, but Preef couldnt really remember the man's name.

Gesturing towards his own booth with his left, Preef welcomed the Mando closer. "Come and sit," he snapped his fingers at a nearby Twi'lek dancer, "come sit on his lap!" Lately Preef had recruited a lot of muscle into the Zaa Fenn, but if he could get a Mandalorian sworn in as Marissa's personal enforcer, well there would be no limits to how far the Zaa Fenn could rise.

Still standing, assuming the Mando would approach him, Preef seemed jovial. "My name is Preef Callo, and-" he smiled reassuringly, "-tonight your drinks are on me."

One thing Gett'se hadn't expected to happen, the acquisition to stand up and call him out, hand near his blaster. His visor turned to meet the Rodian's eyes across the room. He was confused, initially. Why was the acquisition inviting him to sit. Had the informant sold him out or was the acquisition unaware of his intentions.

He approached, cautiously. Unlikely that that would tip Preef Callo off, Mandalorian's tended to act paranoid all the time.

"Preef Callo." He nodded as he came to a stop in front of the man. His own hand floated casually near his blaster, as it always did. Just in case.

"To what do I owe the... generosity?" He asked the Rodian, his visor locked on the man's eyes as the Twi'lek came up to him, molding herself up against his armor, smiling and batting her eyes at a visor that didn't turn. She ran a hand down the cold beskar of his cuirass and he was growing increasingly paranoid by the second at her proximity and touch.

He hadn't really had a plan when he walked in the door. But this was the farthest thing from whatever it was.

Mandalorians, all the same. "Just accept the drink and sit down!" Preef laughed, remembering that the other Mandalorians he had been acquainted with were oddballs, too. Here the rodian paused as he looked at the Twi'lek working so hard to entangle herself around the Mandalorian and realizing that they never work so hard with him. He considered saying something, but then decided to let it go and test out his theory later when he was proper drunk.

"Get us some Iridonian whiskey," he told the Twi'lek, who turned to him all offended-like, "I'm not a waitress, I'm-" but Preef cut her off, "Getting me and the Mando some Iridonian whiskey". He mostly had her do it for the petty reason of being jealous of the attention she was giving the Mando, despite having told her to do so. Reluctantly she untangled herself from the armored man and walked off, prompting Preef to once again gesture for Gett'se to sit.

"You're not going to refuse my hospitality, are you?" the comment was harmless enough, but everyone in the Boogaloo Club knew the consequences of pissing Preef Callo of. Or at least they thought they did: Headlines on severed heads and shootouts had cemented his local reputation.

Gett'se eyed the Rodian through the unassuming gaze of his visor. One of the advantages of the iron face that he wore, no one could tell what he was thinking. Did he do this now? Did he let the Rodian get good and drunk before he made his call? Should he at least see what the Rodian had to offer? Decisions Decisions. The Rodian, Preef, had an easy attitude. He was amiable, but Gett'se's eye didn't miss the way his hand never left the side of his blaster. Professional courtesy he supposed.

He didn't like the way the girl clung to him, and neither did Gett'se. He breathed a sigh of relief as she left his side at Preef's command. He hated being touched. And she was in the crossfire. He doubted that Preef's blaster was set to stun like his. The gunslinger talked like he owned the place, like he was in charge. From what Gett'se had heard, he was. This Rodian was dangerous. He asked him to sit with a gesture of his off hand towards the seat. The question was innocent enough, but the implication was there.

"No." He answered with a short pause after the question. He stepped towards the seat, sliding into the booth, though his right hand touched nothing except the air next to his blaster. His left forearm settled onto the table in front of him, fist closing in a way that silently primed the energy buckler on his forearm.

"What are we drinking to? Is this business?" He asked once Preef sat down across from him. Being a Mandalorian carried a certain reputation, one that Gett'se certainly lived up to. He didn't waste time, if the man wanted to talk money with him then he'd talk. The reputation just made it easier to get away with, and mandalorian's tended to be direct and straight forwards in their dealings. Gett'se was little different. The Twi'lek returned with two shots of Iridonian whiskey, setting them in front of the Rodian and the Mandalorian.

For a moment there the Mando sat and Preef was still standing, hand near his blaster and looking at the armored figure, measuring him up perhaps. The moment passed and the rodian sat down as well when the the two shots of Iridonian whiskey arrived. "Business?" Preef took his glass and threw it back, emptying it in one go and then nodded to the Twi'lek again, "get the bottle."

Next he smiled apologetically to the Mandalorian, "You know, there's these guys in my organization-" Gett'se had perhaps noticed that Preef drank his shots with his left hand and his right wasn't on the table, "-one's a Trandoshan killer and the other a giant Matukai that uses that Force thing." He paused, trying to measure up a person in full armor that clearly didn't take off his helmet for social interactions.. so he's one of those. Preef learned how to shoot a blaster as a child, helping a bounty hunter travel the Outer Rim and learning all there was to know about that trade. They didn't usually walk into the lion's den.. but a Mandalorian in full beskar wasn't your ordinary bounty hunter. Still, Preef felt certain that this guy wasn't a hunter.. who'd he be hunting? Not Preef, certainly. Not Alone, anyway.

"We got no Mandalorian yet." The Twi'lek returned with the bottle and filled Preef's glass before she left them. "What's your name?" the rodian asked, "What's your clan?"[/coolor]

Gett'se listened to the rodian gunslinger impassively. An easy thing to do when your face to the world was of iron skin. So this was business. Or rather, a recruitment. He didn't fail to notice that Preef drank with his left, his right likely a mirror of his own, resting just next to his blaster.

"Gett'se. Vizsla." He replied, lifting the glass up to just under the chin of his helmet. A small metallic straw flicked out from under the lip, and he drank down half of the drink in a sip, feeling it burn as he swallowed. The strong taste lingered in his mouth. Fulfilling his obligation to accept Preef's hospitality at any rate. Gett'se knew little about the force, but he knew plenty about Trandoshan killers. He had killed a few. Wasn't particularly fond of them.

"Let me guess. You want a Mandalorian." He cut to straight to the chase. The Rodian seemed nice enough, but Gett'se knew a killer when he saw one. Something in the eyes. Finishing his drink with another sip, he set the drink down on the table again, moving his hand a little away from it towards himself.

He knew what the Rodian was getting at. Either wanted him as a permanent addition to his gang or otherwise wanted to hire his gun and beskar for a job. He'd hear him out, maybe he could throw enough credits his way to convince Gett'se he had never seen Preef Callo on Eriadu. He hunted for more than just himself now, which meant the credits he could earn here might outweigh whatever loyalty he might feel towards the guild. If the price was right.

"My price is high." He warned the Rodian.

Higher for you.

"Vizsla?" Preef cocked his head, "I know that name." and he did. He knew a Vizsla bounty hunter years ago, but he was pretty sure they weren't the same person. His name was... "Talon Vizsla and I hunted bounties together," he smiled, seemingly caught up in nostalgia while his glass was refilled. "I loved that life," he continued, watching the Mandalorian awkwardly sip his drink. He regretted trading in his roaming lifestyle for the Zaa Fenn, but he also didn't regret being part of a proper family for the first time in his life. He wondered if his bounty hunter license was still valid after so many years.

"But yes, call it a bounty-" The pair of Twi'leks he'd be referring to were the top enforcers of the crimelord Gori Xaa Hafven and would have significant bounties on their heads already.. on top of what Preef was willing to offer. He might already know of their rep, "Lori and Sani Kek are on Nar Shaddaa. I'll pay you sixty thousand on top of whatever bounty there's already on their heads if you make sure they're dead."

There. It was out in the open and the Twi'lek dancer raised her eyebrows upon hearing those names. Yeah, she heard of them.. Lori and Sani Kek were former pleasure slaves who turned their skills in an artform to murder unexpecting targets in their sleep. Gori Xaa Hafven found them on the net, recordings of their deeds, and hired them on the spot. They were crackshots, too. Almost stuff of legends. Gareth Zaa Fenn was tasked to take them out, he volunteered really, but Preef thought a Mandalorian was both a perfect shield as a capable companion.

Gett'se was a slightly surprised when Preef stated that he had worked with a member of his clan. He supposed he shouldn't be, but he was. The fact that he had once been a bounty hunter, well it made him wonder how many bounty hunters started on one side of the law and ended their days on the other.

He listened to Preef's proposal. An underworld bounty then. Off the books, though it sounded like he could turn their corpses in on the books as well. He tried to remember what the price on Lori and Sani Kek was on the guild boards. He looked at Preef. Probably about the same as he was worth alive with the Czerka bonus.

And dead was much easier.

"Nar Shaddaa?" He asked, calculating the trip in his head as he grabbed the bottle from the table with his left hand and poured himself another drink. He hated Nar Shaddaa. Practically had to bribe everyone on the way down from entering the system to docking in a bay. The last time he had been in there he had almost gotten into a dogfight with the "Sector Security" that had tried to shake him down.

"Seventy, and I want twenty up front. The passage fees in Hutt Space are extortion. You give me that and you can consider those Twi'lek's dead." He counter-offered. He was pretty sure that by the end of the job he would only really be getting paid the fifty if he factored in the expenses. Plus the cool hundred on each of the Twi'lek's heads.

He put the bottle down and picked up his shot glass, holding it up towards the Rodian. "Do we have a deal?"

Preef wanted to tell the Mandalorian that there was also the option of flashing the rodian's name around so he wouldn't have to pay those fees, but then it struck him. He could probably collect the Mandalorian's passage fees later one when he would travel to Nar Shaddaa himself and get something extra from customs as a penalty for having the nerve to extort someone working for him. Obviously pleased with his newfound plan, Preef calculated he'd end up paying less than fifty to get rid of two dangerous enforcers. "It's a deal, Gett'se Vizsla." He'd remember him for future work, for sure.

Preef then filled his own glass and held it up to salute the man on the other side of the table. He liked this.. these simple negotiations. Once people get rich and powerful they'll always expect you to come to their fortress and stare into the barrels of their countless guards while they go on about how powerful and influential they are. If it was up to Preef business would always be done in a bar with a sexy Twi'lek on your lap and Iridonian whiskey in your belly.
