Newton was almost finished with his drink, and it looks like this game is about to be finished too, the time limit is dwindling and dwindling and then this game would end. Looks like the Blue Team will win unless the other somehow make a miracle happen.

Doubtful at this stage.

It's impressive how long this Macho person could keep talking yet being the most effective member of the team, as well as favoring things like steel chairs even though their opponents have ranged weapons. Maybe he has pass experience, a veteran of many games perhaps. Although their opponents falling, having malfunctioning equipment helps. Either way.

Someone approached him, asking him if he would join the game. Newton's face was neutral as he would look at his new conversational partner. "It's okay I suppose" he said. He didn't partcilarly enjoy the game but he didn't feel like talking down to it. Looking at him, he could see greying hairs and dreads, as well as some archaic looking armor. Is that vaguely a T-Visor? He can plainly see what looks to be an old warrior. He didn't take much more interest in his appearance.

"What about you?" he calmly asked him in kind after a short delay while he put his eyes back on the screens.

"This game makes absolutely zero sense to me, but... I'd be remiss if I said I didn't place a bet against my own people." he'd say with a laugh. "And I'm getting a recording to hold over some of their heads. I'll be collecting my injured after this, and at least I'll have had a few good laughs by then."

The old warrior would take the glass of tisane as it arrived, taking a sip from the chilled beverage. "Clearly, I'm a warrior, but what is it you do?" he asked as he set his glass back down.

"Your own kind eh, Mandalorian?" he asked to confirm, although it is pretty obvious. But yeah, Newton would agree with this game making no sense. It's barbaric as far as sports go, and Newton doesn't even care for athletic sports, usually too boring and he has more productive things to do. Sidenote, for a culture that's said to be scattered with numbers greatly reduced over the years, he's been seeing an awful lot of them lately...

"Oh, I'm just the Chief Marketing lead at Blackwell" Newton said that as if it wasn't a big deal or anything, and shrugged his shoulders. Newton wondered how his newfound acquaintance would react to that. After all Newton knew that being a 'corpo' isn't a thing a lot of people liked, he wouldn't imagine people from warrior cultures liking his kind either.

Newton's eyes would shift towards the holo-vid screen, looks like the other Mandalorian is down and dazed, and Mr. Macho is preparing to jump? He would raise an eyebrow at that.

"Aye, a Mandalorian. Very astute." Srucayr said in jest before taking a sip of his drink. He'd have to collect quite a few of his kind tonight. Though the young mans area of work didn't surprise the warrior, the ranking definitely did. The fact he had climbed so high for such a prestigious company in itself, was worthy of respect.

And where corpos may have been a bane on personal crafting, they had the means and resources to build and craft warships, tanks. Things his people would need in the coming days. This was a sign from Kad himself, that he had made the right choice to be here at this moment. "Blackwell, and the CMO. Most impressive, though your humility is noted. You should be proud of your achievements." he would shift in his spot and extend his hand. "Srucayr."

The man strolled into the bar and smirked a sly grin while he scanned the occupants of the room before he decided to take a seat in a darker corner that wasn’t super busy watch the fight. The Mandos were getting killed from what he heard from the others.
Whispers of conversation about deals being made, bets being won, alliances being forged- this was the place were stuff happened. He could feel waves of the Dark Side of the Force pulsing around some of the folks who were all enjoying the Huttball game. Stranger wasn’t upset or uneasy about it, just curious. He would’ve been surprised if there weren’t any Sith in here.

Speaking of Huttball, Stranger was in the making of a brand new game that would make Huttball look like bantha fodder. This was one of the reasons why he came to here. To see what business competition he’d be in. So far, it was just a few over grown slugs that made Stranger’s mouth water while he thought about the several sushi combination he could make out of a single Hutt.
Stranger chuckled to himself after he watched Mr. Macho rail Arbalest off the platform. He’s ready to bust some knuckles all right. He watched some more and ordered a glass of Bantha milk and gulped down the blue drink in seconds before ordering another.

Damn, I’m hungry…That Torgrutan looks nice, heheh. He soon lost interest in the game and began scouting out the others in the room with him, looking for people that either might wanna play his little gambit or at least give him a little bit of funding for it. A droid dropped a plate of steak in front of Stranger that he dug into almost immediately. He finished it just as fast and ordered another, but this time, three steaks were on the plate. I could get used to this…

After finishing yet another plate, he wiped his mouth and leaned back in his seat to relax a little. The buzzing of conversation kept his ears perked for anything he might find of interest and decided that his unnerving hunger could wait until he got back to his ship and finish off a human slaver caught a while back. Stranger’s mouth watered again at the image of a pair fo ribs lathered in barbecue sauce sitting in front of him.

“Hey! Get me another plate of steak- five of ‘em this time.”

Emryc stared at Raxx as he switched up tactics to now offer an above the table and perfectly legal arrangement. The half Sephi quietly sipped from his whiskey as he spoke, silver gaze piercing and analyzing as always. While it was largely involuntary, his gaze always had the uncanny ability of making others feel as if they were on center stage and being unraveled in every way. From his words, it was clear the Onderon noble was still green in the world of business and politics. Still, there were a lot of benefits to working with an up and coming company that was bound to get more publicity after this.

“Would you consider allowing me to invest and having a 5% financial stake? I would hold no voting power or authority in the company beyond providing initial capital and owning shares as I would be a significant minority. However, I would be available as an advisor should you need it. In return you get a starting capital, you get a place within ISC and you are free to expand however you wish on your own terms as long as it does not tarnish or bring harm to the ISC,” He swirled the drink in his glass before taking another sip, lips twitching towards a smile, “And even if you get kicked out for violating the ISC laws, you keep my investment as you relocate and keep allowing me the shares.”

It was a win/win no brainer deal to take. Emryc was more interested in growing his financial empire than he was in making decisions for individual companies. At most he risked the investment he placed in them, and he had no desire to play any authoritative or ownership role in the company. It was very similar to his arrangement with MorataCorp, though he had far more vested interest there. He would wait to see what Raxx had in mind to his counterproposal.

In the meantime, he tilted his head to look at Aska, “As for you,” He sipped from his glass again, “While I would be thrilled to have you train our soldiers, I have a business proposition for just you,” The half Sephi stated flatly, “That girl you’ve got there, “ His eyes flicked over to Ali in the distance and then back to Aska, “Can make a lot of money as a headliner dancer. It just so happens that I’ve got some connections with the entertainment industry. If you agree to it, as her...manager,” Emryc paused for a moment, amusement glinting in his eyes, “I will get you connected to an upscale contact. You and I split the lion’s share of the profits from the earnings.”

He knew the dancer was a slave, but he wasn’t sure where Aska stood on the topic. If she was one of those goodie two shoes, a deal like this wouldn’t be appealing. However, it had the potential of making her filthy rich if she went for it. Emryc knew talent when he saw it, and Ali had it.

York watched both the Huttball game and the negotiations between Thorne and this Onderonian Lord with some amused interest. It seemed that Lord Raxx was wanting cut rates on taxes and some benefits and was willing to do some jobs for the ISC off the books as a result. Thorne, however, saw money-making potential. York didn't know much about the mercenary business, but he was now several shots into a nice buzz. Feeling saucy, he couldn't help but throw his two credits in, especially with the Lord's friend kicking all kind's of ass in the Huttball game.

He started laughing and pointed to the screen. "His associate, this Mr. Macho character just drop kicked a Mandalorian off one platform after cooking him real nice with a flamethrower. That wasn't his first barbecue of the game either. Damn one-man wrecking crew out there," York said, clearly buzzing. He looked at Raxx and said, "5%? I don't know what's he offering, but your friend up there is doubling the asking price." He took a long puff of his cigar and spoke through a buzzy grin. "Hell, or tell him the same price he's offering for 2.5%." He looked at Thorne who no doubt would not appreciate York butting in and giving this man advice. Still, York was ballsy and looked at the Sephi while he said, "And you better take it before that pink sum'bitch kills that Mando and scores another point. Then the price will be triple, I'm sure. I bet some huttball card company out there already has his rookie card being printed by the millions. That rookie card might be a good investment too." He rest the cigar between his teeth and kept his eyes on the ISC President to see how he might respond to York butting in with a counter-offer that was in no way his to make.

Ah, so he is indeed a Mandalorian. Are they starting to repopulate again? Good for them if so. Anyways, would then respond to the rest of what he said "Thank you." he genuinely nodded. Newton thought his reaction would be more... not as nice than what he was given. But still, he will take it. "I am, I worked hard to get where I am, I always wanted to advance and reach higher. But can't dedicate as much time to building and designing droids as I used too." That's time is dominated by presentations to other suits, also boring paperwork, more presentations, and more boring paperwork. Even his secretary droid L3 can only relieve him so much...

"So, you're a warrior you said, Srucayr?" he asked, trying not to botch the pronunciation of it his name. He would ask of his new acquaintance. "Are you a warrior for hire? Or for just your clan? If you don't mind me asking" Or maybe both possibly? He wasn't sure. But if it's the former, it would make sense as he is on a ship that's essentially a mobile merchant hub. If the latter, maybe could be here doing more mundane business for his clan. Or another possibility, just came all the way to watch the Hutt Ball game like others here. Either way, if it's the former, then he might be a nice contact. Newton might need some heavy-lifting done in the near-future. Maybe.

"Well it's good that the hard work has paid off.. But.. you strike me as the kind of man who enjoys the tinkering far too much to lose it completely." The veteran would say before taking a sip and setting down his glass. "Aye, I am a warrior, unfortunately credits hold no value over my blade. I fight for causes, for my people. But.. If you're looking for contractors, I know some who feel differently."

He'd look back to the game that was nearly finishing up before looking back to Newton. "I will need to depart, to collect my wounded." he gestured to the game. "But.. Perhaps we could meet again. My people are in need of provisions and something tells me you can fill those needs." he'd cautiously remove a data chit and set it down before Newton. "Until we meet again, young inventor. That has my frequency. Set a time and I will be there, preferably somewhere in the mid-rim." he would wait to depart until after the young man finished speaking.

As Emryc made his counter offer to Klied, Aska returned to her leaning position and poured the shot she had picked up back in one swift motion. It seemed that she hadn’t needed to make the contribution she had placed on the table after all. Waiting for the Onderonian’s response, one she hoped would secure the deal though it seemed Klied's new friend was coaching him further away from the offer, she casually turned back to the holoscreen in time to see Poffo drop his elbow into yet another Mandalorian. Her eyes flicked over to the timer and watched as they drained down to nothing…

0:00:00

“Here are your winners! Mr. Macho, Krazy Kel and Death, the BLUE TEAM!”

”Fuck!” Aska hissed under her breath, tossing the empty shot onto the table before hanging her head in both hands. Not only was she out five thousand credits but now she would have to put up with Poffo and his incessant bragging for… well, probably until the day one of them keeled over if she was being perfectly honest. And if that was going to be the case, she may as well just duck out into the bathroom and bite the barrel of her blaster. Save herself the headache.

“As for you,”

Still frustrated, Aska looked up to Emryc from her hands as he began to elaborate on a separate business offer. This one regarding her Togrutan friend. Looking back to see Ali chatting with the dancers she had been on stage with earlier and then back to Emryc, the gears began to turn. Ali was a dancer, not a merc. Not yet. Her skillset was undeniable and had to be worth something. That something, Thorne recognized.

Many thoughts raced through Aska’s mind in a matter of half a second. The fact that Ali was technically a slave had been a sour point between the clone and the rest of her partners but that also meant that the Togrutan would do as Aska requested without question. What would Klied think if she were to take up this offer? Probably nothing good. Were the credits worth it?

Yea. Yea they were.

”I can ask her and see where she stands but I don’t see anything wrong with that,” Aska responded, her irritation with the outcome of the game fading away near instantly. Of course, Aska wouldn’t hog the entire share of the income. It was Ali earning them, after all. She deserved something for her talents. Still, no reason why she couldn’t take a hefty cut… She was her “manager” after all.

Klied squinted at Thorne as he made his counteroffer, still trying to get a read of the man. He was something of a chameleon to the Onderonian, and he was certainly playing from a stronger position. That being said, Klied's position was about to get much stronger as well. As York piped up the hunter turned his attention to the screen, watching as Poffo did what he did best. A small grin turned up the corner of Klied's mouth as he slowly looked back to the president.

"I'm inclined to agree with Governor York." The Onderonian said smoothly. "My friend just became headline news for the next week. Everyone will be looking to hire him. Which means everyone will be looking to hire me. I'm willing to sell you a stake, but I want to see some significant capital in return." 5% Klied could handle, even if he still wasn't sure about Thorne. And the man clearly had credits to spare. There was no harm in sweetening the deal here. Let the politician cover the cost to get them off the ground, and they'd make both him and themselves filthy rich in return. Everyone came out better in the end. And if Thorne didn't bite, he was feeling more confident now he could find someone who would.

The next exchange quickly killed the grin on the Onderonian's face though. He watched quietly as Thorne and Aska spoke about Ali's career as a dancer. Knowing she was a slave, the conversation quickly had his stomach turning in knots. As Aska voiced that she was agreeable to the offer, Klied's jaw clamped like a vice. He looked at the clone with a neutral expression, eyes icing over as he lifted his glass and polished off his drink. Without saying a word he would turn his attention back to Thorne, waiting to see if he was game to sink a good amount of money into this venture. Suddenly he was acutely aware of how crowded and noisy it was in here. He wanted to finish his business and depart.

So, this one isn't one of those mercenary/bounty hunter Mandalorians. Unusual but fair. But the Mandalorian's offer was intriguing, and he gave him a frequency and everything. Newton had to admit, aside from his personal honor he does not fit like his own typical picture of a Mandalorian. No deals for now, but a potential one in the future. Anyways, he would nod and accept the data chit, he will sit on it. "Thank you, will do." He affirmed. "Oh before you go" Newton would reach out of his jacket pocket to give Srucayr something as well, a small object. "Here, it's my business holocard. This has all my contact information in case you need to reach me" Such as his office locations, holomail address and .etc

When he meant provisions, Newton assumed that he would be talking about things like armor modifications, weapons, and/or weapon modifications. He couldn't imagine that a Mandalorian would want their hands on droids since they value personal honor in combat, or at least that's his impression of them.

"Pleasure chatting with you" Newton said to him. Newton saw that the Hutt Ball game has ended and his drink has ran dry. There would be some highlights regarding the best pieces of the game. Such as this 'Krazy Kel' person tripped and knocked himself out on the ball. Laren being struck by lightning. The 'piledriver' as the commentators called it. There were lots of replays though, a lot of them being played in slow motion.

With that, Newton would take his leave. @Rhogar

Srucayr would take the business card, a fascinating little thing, and tuck it away into one of his pouches for later. "My thanks. You'll be hearing from me soon, you can count on that." with his drink done, information exchanged, the winged helm was unclipped from his belt and pulled onto his head. "Kad preserve you, young one. Or whatever higher power you bend the knee to."

"Til our paths cross again."
They'd each go their separate ways. Newtown would depart the stadium, Srucayr would go to collect Cas and Laren. Oh boy, the fun he was going to have.

He trusted Skjorn and Ramail to find their own way out, besides, he was going to take a bit.

Dhari would reel slightly from Tal's touch, but she collected herself before she ripped her hand away, instead allowing his hand to gently squeeze hers. "Yeah?" she said, tone lighter, questioning, as much to herself as to him. "Yeah, me too. And I guess you're right. I'm in no rush to get back to the chaos I call a life either." She raised her glass to him, and drank. As she put the glass down again, she added: "Though I will say this: I won't be some kind of window dressing to your base. Whether I stay with your crew or not will depend on a whole lot more than strong drinks and soft words." She gave him a look that showed she wasn't kidding. Then she relaxed and leaned back, a cheeky smile once again on her lips.

"That's it for business, then. Why don't you tell me something about yourself? Something I'd likely not guess."

Ramail would let Skjorn's comment about her alor sit in the air for a while. She took a sip of her drink. "Yeah," she said. "Kryzes and Wrens. But as you say, the ancient alliances don't matter anymore. From what I've been able to learn about our history, it seems like those alliances played a part in our downfall." Ramail snorted. "Blind loyalty. Hah. Better to don new colours every year than to wear the same for generations, if that means you're staying true to our ideals."

She'd look at Skjorn and lower her head at his proposition. "I'm grateful you think we can save them, Skjorn. Really. I hope so, too. And if it means I'll have to take his spot as alor, I will. But it'll be on my time and my terms. I need to know that what I can give them is enough to win them over before I make a move."

Tal would look up, he definitely hadn't wanted the moment to end but the announcers were beginning to bring in the ending of the game. His thumb would caress the back of her hand and he looked over at her. "Games over. We should probably wait at this point or else we'll be waiting in the hangar forever."

He would refill both their glasses. "I don't do window dressings. If you roll with me, you're going to be in the shit with the rest of us. So we'll see if you earn your spot every day."

He'd then take a sip from his glass. "Something that you would never guess... I love music. Making it, listening to it, etc."

He'd scratch his jaw in thought. "Many don't view what they did as the downfall of our people. They levy the forces they went against as the cause. But Kryze, Wren, Vizsla, they walked away from the old gods and then the latter brought back a Cult to try to rediscover their religion. Its amazing what they need to suffer before they return to the gods."

Hed take a drink from his glass draining it. "Saving Clans isn't a one day thing. It may take us years to get to that point, but we'll just need to keep plugging away at it. We can change it all, we just need the time to do so." His gaze would shift to follow Srucayr departing, likely to collect Casany and Laren. "Games over, we should get out of here. Got some work to do, yeah?"
