REX was somewhat taken-a-back by the forwardness of one of the patrons here, enquiring as to a drinks order. The droid looked at the organic, and stared at him, unsure of what to do. On one hand he was well versed in the refined art of mixology, on the other, he was not here to serve this specific organic, rather the more prestigious one that now lounged in his Hutt-shpaed VIP lounger the other side of the room.

He took the decision to correct the humanoid of his errors, and spoke in his uninflected monotone, saying ”This unit is not designated to take ‘drink orders’ we are assigned to his Serene Excellency, Yurghuz the Hutt, as a luxury servitor droid. Nearby Units, coloured with the livery of the venue will be of greater use.” Rex concluded, before realising there was something he could offer the humanoid.

”I would however be delighted to provide long-term care and support, if you would like to join the court of his Serene Excellency, Yurghuz the Hutt, on a permenant basis? he concluded, extending an arm and handing the humanoid a contact card.

Almost immediately Aska wrenched her face out from between Ali's fingers and frantically grabbing a reflective object to try and take a look for herself. Once her chipped tooth had been confirmed, the strawberry blonde woman stood up and began angrily scanning the bar for something or someone. As she did so, she explained to Ali exactly what had happened. A news reporter had bumped into her so she could get a scoop on Emeryc Thorne. This was a man the slave had met once before. Aska and Ali had attended a Blackwell Technology conference under the guise of a traveling dancer and her manager. Thorne had been present as he was being announced as the latest addition to Blackwell's board of directors. He and Aska had both partaken in a round of shots prior to his speech. Screaming Sarclaacs if the slave recalled correctly.

"Thorne? You mean the man we met on Zeltros at that other party?" asked Ali, "I did not know he was here. Guess he must be a big Hutt Ball fan." The Togruta had not seen Aska, Klied, or anybody else she had recognised from her seat at the other end of the bar to begin with. There was a lot of people around so her visibility would have been obscured and her attention had been on watching the game on the screens rather than what was happening around her at the time. Nevertheless, at the mention of his name, she too had started looking around the bar to see if she could spot him, but she did not. He must have returned to the VIP lounge.

Turning her attention back to her mistress, Ali decided to ask more about this news reporter. She might have been against violence but rudeness, especially towards Aska, the slave would not tolerate.

"What did she look like?" inquired the dancer, "These bad manners will not do and certainly not if she has hurt you mistress. This woman must repent for her actions. At the very least an apology is in order."

Klied nodded sagely at York's response. He could respect a man that valued the natural world. Too many saw progress as overrunning a planet and destroying it's natural beauty as it was stripped for it's resources. The galaxy needed more conservationists. "I've been to Kattada." He said before taking another drink. "The fishing was much to my liking." From what he remembered it was a beautiful and peaceful world. A bit too boring for his tastes, but he would keep that thought to himself.

When York made his joke Klied gave a hearty laugh. "Oh no, I'm not brave enough for politics." He explained with a softer chuckle once he composed himself. "I prefer it when I know who's trying to kill me and who isn't. No Governor, I don't typically use my position to try and influence Onderon's politics, though my family was once a driving force behind the independence movement back during the days of the Old Republic." Knowing Kattada was a member of the ISC, he made sure to drop in that little detail. "What I'm looking to do is use a more direct approach to making life better for the people of the galaxy. I've been considering founding a mercenary company. One that will have more scruples than your typical thugs, and ideally make services available to whoever requires them." Providing a cheap source of military aid was something important to Klied's plan. Although it was often expensive to work cheap.

Taco nodded along as the droid (@Nor'baal) revealed himself to be a server to Hutts instead of a server of drinks. But what the hell was a Yurghuz? Wasn't "serene excellency" a fancy synonym for "restroom"? Still the janitor droid probably had some crazy stories to tell and was suddenly more interesting than those donut droids so the drinks could wait.

“Hey it’s gilded!” The Twi’lek enthused as he flipped the contact card. He had never been invited to join a Hutt's court before. Was that like a Huttball court?

“Hmmm what’s the pay like? Does he need a technician or bounty hunter 'cause I can do both? Do I get free drinks? Does your boss employ dancing girls as hot as this bar’s? Do I get my own room? How many vacation days? Is there a cafeteria or do I get a stove in my room or how’s that work? What’s the pay like? Hold that thought.”

Taco suddenly caught the viewscreen from the corner of his eye, slapped the servitor droid on the shoulder and took off running. “HOLY SHIT THEY'RE FRIKKIN MANDALORIAAAANS” The Twi’lek proclaimed as he stood on the nearest table to angle his head right in front of the screen. "WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME?"

The Huttball match had kicked off and two Mandos were tearing the air with their jetpacks. Taco’s eyes danced every which way. “RED TEAM GO, RED TEAM GO” Found their names. “IRON MAN. SHIT THAT’S COOL. ANVIL. YEAH!” Threw his arms up in the air and barely registered the contact card flying from fingers. “EAT BANTHA BALLS, BLUE BITCHEEEEEEEEES”

Aha, he was mentioning security firms because he was looking for clients. Perhaps financial backers. That would explain the flamboyant bounty hunter friend of his in the huttball game. A rich survivalist and a brute of a bounty hunter was a pretty nice start to a mercenary operation. York nodded, removing the unlit cigar from his lips. "I see. Interesting business model. When you say, available for whoever needs them, I assume you mean a little pro bono work?"

York pursed his lips and looked off for a bit considering the implications. It was a bit outside of the box for a man like York who saw the value in profit. Unless, of course, the pro bono work was a work in and of itself, a public relations ploy to get free press...free press meant free advertising. Free advertising meant meant they acquired clients without having to pay to reach them. It might be a stroke of genius.

"You should give some consideration to running your operation out of an ISC world when you get it up and running." He felt compelled to clarify. "I'm not asking for that to be Kattada mind you. It might draw attention that would be bad for tourism. But, I could see where running such an operation outside the confines of those pesky FWA or New Republic regulations would be good for business for you. Not to mention, you would be away from the ever-watchful eyes of the Sector Rangers." He shrugged as he put the cigar back to his clenched teeth. "Something to think about anyway."

She smirked slightly at his comment, and blinked once in mock coy fashion, one brow quirked. "Well thank you. I might keep the look, then." Pulling the hoodie off, it revealed a black dress with leggings underneath; the outer garment would be neatly folded on one of the seats, out of the way of other seated observers. Not quite something one would wear to Huttball, but even she had specific standards.

Crossing over to the bar, she curiously eyed the shot he gave her, and then the new male that approached. Sharp golden eyes raked over the newcomer (@Raydo ) head to toe before giving him a nod in return. She tossed back her own shot, relishing the burn, but amusement glinted in amber eyes at Thorne's unmistakable look of disappointment. It was too late to bet now, but she would still enjoy the show put on for everyone to watch.

At his question, she cocked her head slightly, amber eyes glittering with the faint smile.
"I've been known to let loose now and then," she replied, crossing her arms casually beneath her bust. "Especially when my favorite team is on Holo. How about you, Mister Thorne, and... Rinn, was it?" she cocked her head to their third in the party, curiosity glinting sharply within the bright gaze.

Two women dressed in dancer clothing strode very close by Aska and Ali. One of the women was excitedly chatting with the other, “-And you make bank if you dance in the VIP box!”

“For Thorne, right?”

“Yeah! He was looking for a headliner dancer. I guess he’s not too pleased with the current performances..”

“Well yeah it’s just backup dancers like us in there…”

The women continued to chatter as they passed right by Aska and Ali, making their way towards the VIP box. (@Tulos @Bex )

---
"Don't be silly, Rinn, your credits are no good here."

Emryc’s silver gaze flicked over to the black dress under the hoodie as Ilana changed, taking sight of the way it hugged her curves and accented her form. He was not exactly a shy man, and he had no qualms with appreciating beauty when he saw it, “Clearly that is the look you should keep,” He said with a half grin before tossing back his shot.

The half Sephi turned towards her when she remarked on her favorite team being on Holo. He reached up an expensive chrono-adorned wrist and casually unbuttoned the top two buttons of his dress shirt. This revealed a black t-shirt beneath it with the Ryloth Rancor team logo on it. Emryc gave her a wink, “Always,” Piercing gaze remained on hers as he snapped his fingers, followed by holding up two fingers. When the drinks were served, he slid one over towards Ilana, “I recall you being partial to whiskey,” He raised his own glass of top shelf whiskey, silver gaze eyeing her over the rim, “And please, call me Emryc.”

The game was bordering on comedy at this point with the players stumbling over one another. The dancers performed in the background and Emryc glanced over every now and then. He looked over at Lucas, “Lucas Rinn here is the Governor of Gyndine. Makes some of the finest ships in the galaxy that’s about to leave those damn squids in the dust,” He raised his glass in cheers as he introduced them to one another, “And this is Doctor Ilana Morata, the CEO of MorataCorp, a living legend that’s making history as we speak.”

He smiled and extended a hand as they were introduced. "Its a pleasure. I have heard very promising things. You save the Galaxy with your vaccine and you might even be more popular than Emryc." he said with a chuckle. "Its about damn time they talk about someone else on the Holo." he said jokingly before taking another drink.

An AMS vaccine would be the literal key to Galactic Power. If the ISC could control its distribution, it would finally have serious leverage over the Republic.

He sipped at his drink as both teams continued to clamor against one another. He had only watched Huttball casually. He looked a good bout of violence now and then but didn't know the intricacy of the game. When the woman turned the question to him. "I am afraid I am a little boring," he said, taking another drink. "Politics is my blood sport of choice and racing was always more popular than this" he said, gesturing towards the field.

"I'd like to." Klied replied to York on the topic of pro bono work. Perhaps his thoughts on the matter were a bit more honest then the Kattadan governor's. He really did want to help everyone, not just those that could afford him. But he also saw the self-promotion value in doing such. And using that more pragmatic language was more likely to draw in backers. "We're still a for-profit venture obviously, but offering a few less fortunate clients work gratis is a good way to show the galaxy that we're above our competitors. Taking out a band of pirates or slavers free of charge shows customers that not only are we efficient, but we conduct ourselves with honor. Typically working with mercenaries comes with an inherent risk. They might turn on you if the opposing side offers them more money, or worse. If we can show potential clients that we're worthy of their trust, we'll have no shortage of customers."

York then started talking about where they might set up their headquarters for a mercenary company. He talked about regulations. He talked about Sector Rangers. Klied just smirked. It was clear the governor was trying to sway him towards associating his company with the ISC rather than the Republic or FWA. He understood what he was saying. He wasn't much a fan of government interference in a private individual's business either. But he already had his plans for setting up operations.

"Well we're already working towards securing a specific property..." He began thoughtfully, as though giving York's suggestion some consideration. "Is there a location in particular you had in mind Governor? I'm sure you're more familiar with your own territory than I am." He wanted to get the man thinking as though he was already a shareholder in the company. If he could do that, perhaps it would be a bit easier to actually convince him to invest.

Her lips quirked wryly at Emryc's words to her attire; one hand rested lightly on her hip, one darkened brow rising at the comment. "Indeed. Maybe the next time there is an investor meeting, I should dress this way." At the other man's words, she took his hand, breaking eye contact with Emryc to give the man a firm handshake. However, her hands were icy cold in sharp contrast to his own; like Emryc, her own gaze was sharp and unflinching despite the smile. "A pleasure to meet you as well. Ships? I might have to call on your expertise then, but not quite yet. The plays are getting good."

She caught Emryc's shirt, and humor curled on her lips.
"Ah, a fellow enthusiast. But for opposite teams, sadly." However, she was smiling. "I'd shame my university if I didn't at least pretend to cheer for the Coruscantii. But they," she nodded to Emryc's shirt, gaze flicking back up to meet his gaze, "certainly have a good offense."

At his words, pleasure warmed amber eyes from their usual frigid to a kind of grace, bowing her head once, she took the proferred drink with a slight toast, taking a drink as well.

"Very well then, Emryc. Ilana for me as well, then." Those silver eyes again however. And paired with that dark hair, if it weren't for the informalities now he would have reminded her of---

She caught Lucas' words, and she turned to lean against the bar slightly, taking another drink. That way, she could keep her gaze on the two men with her, rather than bouncing her gaze back and forth between the two.
"Do you have a preferred racer, then?" she asked, a coy glint in amber eyes as she looked over both of them.

"Well we're already working towards securing a specific property...Is there a location in particular you had in mind Governor? I'm sure you're more familiar with your own territory than I am," Lord Raxx asked of him.

A good question, and York removed the cigar from his mouth and crossed one leg over. He looked up to help him think a bit and then dotted an imaginary 'i' with his cigar. "Manda. Manda would be perfect. Very close to Hutt space which I would assume would be where a sizable amount of your missions would be." He nodded as he thought more about it. "Right at the crossroads of some important hyperspace trade routes if taking down pirates suited your fancy...And I believe there are still some abandoned trade warehouses complete with landing strips, landing pads, the whole bit. Wouldn't take much renovation to give you everything you need. I'm sure I can set you up with a property guy there if you wanted to look around."

He smirked and put the cigar back in his lips. "Of course, Tatooine could put you right in the belly in the beast. Wouldn't have to travel from your base to find work. Do a job and be back home in time for dinner."

It felt almost forbidden coming here. Having grown up in the core where it was outright illegal to even place bets on such a sport, being here felt like a moment of defiance and rebellion. She never thought she would ever take the time to learn about the sport, let alone check out what the craze was even about, however, after seeing the passion Emryc held for the sport and just how much of a fan base there was in the outer reaches of the galaxy, Tiamat decide it could be worth her time. The game was well on its way when she arrived to the bar on the Daedalus; her hair was dyed white, soft curls fell along her cheeks down her back. She had picked something that allowed her to blend in better with other spacers present, open collared shirt, leather jacket and tight in all the right places to avoid her typical frumpiness.

She arrived at the wild cheers of the patrons, the bar erupting with shouts of excitement as well as anger as the teams continued their game. Tiamat paused to watch the plays on the holo-screens before heading further inside, weaving through the masses of beings that were packed inside. The woman ducked under flying arms and stepped lightly through conversing beings until she reached the bar. There were couple of the donut droids handing out the sweet treats and cups of caf while the Twi'leks at the bar hurried with the orders that kept pouring in as they poured out.

Tia pried bodies apart just to reach the counter, dropping credits into palm of one of the twi'leks and waited while others swapped out places on either side of her as they made their drink orders. When she received her glass, she returned back to the floor, spotting a familiar face she had not seen in quite some time, (@Exhilian ); his blue eyes were unmistakable as she approached him.

“OHHHH OH OH OH OH TURN THE MUSIC UP, BARKEEP” Taco exclaimed from his table.

“Turn it up?” The voice conveyed. “Music or TV? There’s a game on!”

“EXACTLY! PUMP THAT SHIT!”

A moment later and the overhead speakers did not give out but gave in, blaring music that yet did not interfere with the sound of the Huttball game that was far more important.

Taco was meanwhile glued to the screen in front of his face. Mandalorians were dancing left and right, there was a lightsaber, a dude named Mr. Macho who made the Twi’lek laugh so hard he nearly fell off his table, then some patron did the same as he slapped said table.

“GET THE KARK OFF THE TABLE, YA DIPSHIT” Cried a big burly bearded guy. “GO BACK TO YOUR DADDY BEFORE I SPANK YA IN FRONT OF MY GIRLFRIENDS”

Taco looked left, looked right, remembered what his daddy told him about bigger and better men who picked on him, swung a boot for the man’s glass as beer splashed against his beard and spattered against his girlfriends.

“KARK A MONKEY PARDON MY MUSCLE SPASM AND OH SHIT SORRY SEE YA LATER”

With that, the Twi’lek leapt from the table and took off running. Surely the dickwad dipshit would still be recovering from his wet shirt? Oh well whatever Taco had more important things to worry about.

His escape had sent him bumping into the nearest person after navigating his way between this person and that person. The person he bumped into? Well, at a glance, she was pretty. After colliding into her bosom she was as hot as a lava pit and cue the Mustafar references ok let’s check this gal out.

Let’s see...white, curly hair, open collared shirt, leather jacket and tight in all the right places...drink in hand and likely just spilled but hey who cares, hey? There was a sixteen-year-old Twi’lek turned eighteen turned twenty-one in the span of an instant just dying to buy her a drink.

“Are you my wife?” Taco pleaded as he gazed upon his newlywed. (@GABA)

Seething in her own anger, Aska sat back down in her chair and continued to stoke the fire as she rubbed her tongue along the inside of her teeth. Ali’s questioning of Thorne’s presence went unanswered as the clone continued to scour the crowd looking for the reporter that had earned her ire, only fading back into reality as the Togrutan began to question her mistress on the woman’s description.

”I only caught the back of her head. I can’t be su-” Aska began to respond when her attention was finally diverted by two beautiful dancer’s making their way past them towards the VIP lounge. Not by their words at first, but their appearance as the clone first spotted them over the slave girl’s shoulder. Their attire left little to the imagination, as one would expect, and gave her plenty to look over, especially the crimson skinned Zeltron of the pair. Instinctually, Aska’s chipped tooth bit over her bottom lip which was soon covered by her bottle of beer that Ali had given her.

“For Thorne, right?”

“Yea! He was looking for a headline dancer but….”

The conversation continued on as the women passed the pair by and Aska spun in her seat to get one final look as they disappeared into the VIP area. What they said, it stuck with the clone. How could Emryc be unsatisfied with women like that on his lap? It didn’t make any sense to her but then again, she wasn’t a young and rising star in galactic politics. She supposed that a man like him could have his pick of anyone he so chose. Then, as she turned back to the bar with the thoughts of the reporter subsided momentarily, Aska looked at her companion and an idea began to form. With a coy smirk, the clone stood up from the counter and took Ali’s hand, pulling her away.

”I’ve got an idea. Come with me,” Aska insisted as she tugged the Togrutan along. A two-pronged plan took form; there was absolutely no way the reporter could get in the VIP lounge which would mean that not only was her face liberated from a free rearrangement but it also would keep Aska from getting kicked out for smearing her across the bar. Secondly, rubbing shoulders with the elite that would be inside? Well, that could only be good for business. Plus… the babes.

“Hol’ up,” the bouncer barked as Aska and Ali approached the doorway, stopping them in their tracks with his massive paws. Looking up to meet the man’s eyes, it was clear he’d been involved in a few dirty brawls by the scars and missing teeth. “Thi’ ‘ere is fo’ Very Impo’tan’ People. ‘Nd I don’ know ya,” His broken basic made the clone cringe.

”You must be blind, huh? Do you not see what I’m bringing in?” Aska queried, feigning her best smile as she pulled Ali ahead to be displayed. She felt terrible for parading around her friend like this but it would serve a purpose. "Now step aside, numb nuts,"

The half Sephi’s eyes glinted slightly at Ilana’s words about her attire, “Your ability to command a room would be equally pronounced whether you dressed in a lab coat or if you wore nothing at all, Doctor,” He said casually in that smooth baritone.

Emryc looked up at Rinn’s words, noting the switch to first name basis. He eyed the man for a moment as he took his drink, “Holonet suffered almost a year without my face on it. It would be quite rude of me not to oblige,” He grinned as he clinked his glass against the man’s to keep drinking.

The half Sephi quirked an eyebrow at Ilana’s words about her team, “Bold of you to cheer for a team from a world where the sport is mostly banned,” He flashed a grin, “Those are some brave players, though, I’ll drink to that,” He raised his glass and took a sip.

Emryc didn’t miss how Ilana kept gazing at him, almost as if searching for something. It piqued his curiosity, though externally his face was always the same stoic. He said nothing about it, gaze flicking over towards the dancers briefly while the conversation turned to racing.

A blue twi’lek was swaying and moving on the stage set ahead. She caught his eyes and playfully toyed with a lekku. Emryc watched with his usual blank expression, taking a sip every now and then from his drink. He could hear the commentary from the game, paying attention to every word.

After a moment, a man discreetly approached Emryc and whispered into his ear. The half Sephi asked to see a datapad which revealed live footage of those standing outside the doorway. Emryc grinned to himself, “Let them in and set the short haired woman up with a private dance from the Zeltron twins.”

“Right away sir,” The man nodded and left to tell the bouncer they were cleared.

After having a few Soma noticed a Twi'lek having the time of his life. It was amusing to see. She was watching how the game was going and enjoyed herself. The reporter of the Galactic Gazette stood and began to look for someone to speak with. There had to be good conversation somewhere. Then she decided to see how this particular man that is fascinated by the little droid-servers. (@Rhogar )

"Hey, I noticed you like Correllian. Mind if I join you? I'm a fan myself."

Soma sat down next to the man. Whether his answer were yes or no she was going to sit. Then with a slightly alcohol induced smile she looked at him with her green eyes almost hidden by her bangs.

"What do you do for a living that could get you in a place like this?"

Soma Stargazer was a bit of a meddler and digger, so this question was nothing serious. She was just interested in what the man had to say. Could be story worthy if it's something really entertaining. The reporter sat patiently as she let off her tempting smile to the man.

Klied nodded as York spoke. The man made a lot of sense. A base on Tatooine wouldn't send quite the message he was looking for, but an industrial trade hub like Manda? That conveyed legitimacy. Obviously Dxun remained at the forefront of his mind. It was an excellent spot for a secret base, hidden from the prying eyes of the galaxy. It was the perfect training ground for churning out highly skilled mercenaries. But he couldn't run a business from there. On Manda he could.

"You make a convincing argument Governor York." He replied with a smile after mulling it over. "I've never been to Manda myself, perhaps a talk with this man of yours would be illuminating." He paused to polish off the last of his whiskey and take a look at the screen. He quickly pulled a pained expression as he watched both teams continue to blunder about. Maybe it hadn't been such a good idea to point out his association with Poffo after all. He was starting to make him look bad. At least he hadn't wagered any money on the game. Looking back to York he forced a more relaxed expression.

"Of course this is all still up in the air, but if I was to establish my business within the ISC, I think it would be beneficial to have some friends within the Consortium's government, don't you agree?" He inclined his head slightly as he said this, making a fairly obvious insinuation. "And if you'll allow me to give you some advice in return for the helpful suggestions you've given me... The galaxy is quite the dangerous place right now and doesn't look to be getting more peaceful any time soon. I doubt anyone would call it unwise to make some investments in... Conflict resolution." A bit forward but Klied had danced around long enough. He preferred to find out now rather than later if York had any interest in supporting his efforts, so he could move on elsewhere. Perhaps the governor would even be willing to introduce him to someone.

he smirked at jack's answer to his musings, it was a possibility, he didn't know of Ilana's personal interests, she might be a fan of the sport but he was a cynic even at the best of times.

It seemed Jack was interested in learning about Orrell's personal interests. "I wouldn't say this wasn't my style just not my sport, boxing is my sport, that is a true gentlemen's sport." A sport of tactics just as much as brawn between two opponents. he might be biased towards but he didn't care.

"but i have other interests outside of my personal works but I doubt you want to hear me talk about my readings of economic study and theory and other such complex subjects." he knew what he was interested in was very dry for most others though he was talking to MC's chief of research.

Trench had been the ultimate stage of chill. The music was the perfect volume, the Huttball game was going the way he wanted and he was halfway through his second bottle. His gaze shifted to the droid trying to give him a donut. "I'm warning ya play boy, you don't want this smoke. So hop along." He went to take a sip from his glass, only to realize it was empty and cursed before filling his glass.

"Hey, I noticed you like Correllian. Mind if I join you? I'm a fan myself."

Well, the day just got better. A woman's voice and as he looked over he offered a grin. "Just cuz I'm Corellian doesn't mean you can be using them lines on me." The girl was smoking hot which meant she had to be at least a nine on the crazy/hot matrix. He would laugh before reaching over the counter to grab a glass and poured her some of his bottle sliding over. "It's pretty good. Love to have some company."

"What do you do for a living that could get you in a place like this?"

"I get to handcuff people." Jericho would say with a smirk before he took a sip of his glass. "Just on a much needed vacay. Yourself?"

The man was full of energy. This is exactly what she needed. Someone to be able to have a fun conversation with. She hadn't cared much for if he was Corellian, more about his glass of whiskey. Soma was sure he knew that, just being the life of the party. The man was decent looking individual. Not a terrible option to spend a few drinks with.

Soma then listened to him answer her following question. Handcuffing people.. she's done a little handcuffing herself.. for.. 'work related' incidents. She figured he was a cop of sorts. She's heard of the rangers and hasn't come across one yet. Could tonight be the night?

"So you're 5-0? Huh, would've pegged you for the gambler type. Myself? Well I work for The Galactic Gazette, a reporter. I chase stories.. you happen to know where I can find one would you? I can make it worth your while.."

Soma began playing her game with the man as she did before with many other men. Luckily for her they all thought with their little head before the one on their shoulders. She walked her fingers over the table as if they were legs and placed her hand on his arm softly as she bit her bottom lip and winked at him.
