Hutt Engineering

Being an avid supporter of technology and advancement, the new Chairman Tusa Ujalli Hai created a new branch of the Hutt Empire- the Hutt Engineering works. Using his own personal designs, stolen plans, and the latest systems, the Hutt Empire intends to field the most powerful equipment in the known universe.

Description: Colossal, terrifying, and destructive, the Will of the Hutts is, without debate, the single most powerful vessel in the known universe. Drawing the entire profit of a planetary system over a span of five years, the lumbering vessel (then christened the Dark Charity) was hidden away in the Tingel Arm of the galaxy, the Chairman Malgarr’s ultimate weapon against his foes. Using thousands of slaves, ‘hired’ contractors, and ‘volunteer’ engineers, the Dark Charity-class vessel revolutionized the way the Empire would construct vessels. Using every inch of available shipspace, the asymmetrical hallways are designed for efficiency and grace, minimizing the capability for intruders while maximizing potential of the crew. The vessel is rigged with the latest in sensor and targeting computers, integrating smoothly with military grade communications suites and tactical command consoles. The Dark Charity was designed to be a mobile headquarters for the entire Hutt Empire, and very recently was completed, transferring silently to Hutt Space.

Unfortunately, Chairman Malgarr never had the chance to utilize his prized creation against the Republic. Due to his untimely death, the Dark Charity was left without a commander, until the newly appointed Chairman Tusa Ujalli Hai took over the vessel, crewing it with his most loyal and experienced crew, drawing from every corner of the Empire for the best gunners, the best operators, and the best pilots. With a fresh coat of matte black paint and a new name, Will of the Hutts, Tusa uses it very much as his frontline command post and administrative headquarters, allowing him to wade into battle and decimate his foes with little fear of death.

Multi-Shielding System- Due to the high-priority targets typically found on the vessel, an additional need for defense arose. Many different designs for advanced shielding systems came and went, eventually culminating in what is simply designated as the Multi-Shielding System. Using seven specially converted small freighters (see below) seven shield generators project their strength on the Will of the Hutts, each augmenting the craft’s defenses by half. When all vessels are activated (typical during combat), the Hutt flagship’s defenses stand at 4.5 times that of its standard shields, giving it a clear-cut advantage over its enemies. The major drawback of this is that the seven light freighters must rely on their own shielding and maneuverability for survival, as they must remain outside of the projected shield.

Description: Completing the new line of Hutt warships, the Tribal-class Warship is a new design with these key ideas in mind- superiority, terror, and victory. Using new crystal-based power arrays and instantaneous power shifts, the Tribal-class Star Destroyer is capable of punching through the strongest Republic defenses, and using its complement of starfighters and quad cannons, it is easily protected from light attacks. The true gem of the Tribal warship is its Mass Driver Cannon- a slow firing turreted weapon capable of bypassing enemy shielding to damage bridges, shield generators, or reactors unhindered. Due to these advancements, the Tribal Star Destroyer is one of the most expensive, complex, and hard to pilot vessels in galactic history, restricting its use to critical battles.

Description: After severe losses at the Battle of Denon thanks to the Republic’s Summit warships, the Empire saw the need for an ‘artillery’ vessel to be deployed in addition to their line of multi-role warships. After much debate, redrawing, and expense, the Devastator-type Frigate was put into production.
Despite its small profile, this frigate packs quite the punch: alongside its concussion missile tubes and experimental Double Turbolaser Cannons, four Mass Driver Repeater Cannons have been spaced along the massive wingspan. Using the prototype Mass Drivers attached to the Tribal-class Star Destroyers, these models allow rapid firing of the high-explosive slugs, making the multi-million credit investments worthwhile.

Using a classic Mandalorian design as the base, the Crusader-class Light Cruiser was born. Light on crew requirements and heavy on guns, the semi-automated Crusader cruiser is perfect for any small-sized role, working individually to protect Hutt warships or grouping together to tackle large targets.

Description: The first war vessel designed and manufactured exclusively for Tusa’s private empire, the Hai-class Frigate was created to escort the Hutt’s freighters and planets, patrolling his territory and testing the waters for larger vessels. Description: After a staggering loss of three Hai frigates to a single missile cruiser, Tusa realized the need for something more powerful. Building off of the design of the Hai Frigate, the selfishly named Tusa-class Heavy Cruiser was born. Doubling the length and almost tripling the firepower of its predecessor, the Tusa cruiser is expensive, powerful, and terrifying. With a decently sized ground complement and three squadrons of brand new starfighters, Tusa vessels can operate independently or as part of a task force to accomplish their goals.

Soon, it was demanded that new designs be created with cheap designs and powerful space frames, capable of carrying a massive payload. Thus, the Vicious-class Picket Cruiser was born. Description: An aging design, the Malice-class Gunship is a large, fearsome vessel with one purpose in mind- destruction of enemy capital ships, planetary shields, and orbital stations. Using its rapid firing array of concussion missile tubes, the Malice Gunships easily shred the heaviest shields. Using its impressive complement of starfighters and four batteries of quad cannons, it is well protected against small-scale attacks. However, due to the staggering cost of operation, these vessels are rarely seen outside of major fleet movements.

Description: When one visualizes the Hutt Military, the classic Dread-class Heavy Warship is ingrained in their mind. Due to its sturdy design, low cost, and massive versatility, the Dread-class Heavy Warship was an ideal investment for Hutts rich or poor to secure their territory. In recent times, it has taken a more ship-of-the-line role instead of its intended destroyer, and its inefficiencies at heavy warfare have come to light, resulting in a heavy loss of personnel and a need for a replacement vessel.

Description: Spawning from research performed both in Republic and Hutt space, the multi-trillion credit gravity well system has finally come to fruition. Dreamed of for decades, the technology to pull vessels from hyperspace is now in Imperial hands. Utilizing a similar (albeit smaller) frame as the insanely successful Tribal-class Star Destroyer, the Vorsch-class Interdictor/Scrambler is the first ship designed solely for a support role. Using its four gravity well projectors, the ship can stop enemy vessels from escaping or pull them out of hyperspace for surprise attacks. With its incredible array of ion cannons and starfighters, it can quickly disable ships for capture with its tractor beams.
That’s not the only surprise with the new line of vessels, however. Included is an advanced scrambler package that works against opposing forces by overloading their communication channels with random white noise. In concentrated bursts, it can completely overload sensor information, effectively creating sensor blackouts akin to in a nebula. This effect is still in testing, however, and thus its effectiveness is very power consuming, resulting in the deactivation of all energy weapons.

Description: During the Hutt Civil War, it came to the attention of the Hutt High Command that rapid deployment was tricky at best for the Empire, often relying on drop pods and spreading a land Squadron over an entire battalion. The great need arose for a dedicated troopship, and the A’den Troopship was born inspired by designs rooting from the newly christened Mandalore, Vincent A’den. The Emperor saw it only fitting to name after the creator.
Sporting thick shields and even thicker armor, this ship has one goal in mind- safely land its two full squadrons. A shield projector unit is equipped to safely guide clusters of landers, and its limited weapons allow it to fend off attacks. It does not have room for starfighters, however, and relies on external escort.

However, due to budget constraints that he didn’t yet have, Tusa required his designers to build a space frame that was capable of being converted into one of three loadouts to fit a specific mission, and although it could take hours, it resulted in the Ujalli-class Multifighter.

With the slot for the rear seat replaced by high-powered engines, the thrust on the Interceptor is extraordinary, allowing it to soar past opposing ships at the expense of temporary maneuverability. With a light payload it cannot effectively target large vessels, although it lightens the entire frame allowing for quick spirals and dodges. Its sweep-wing design creates an effective crossfire, its overall effectiveness multiplying exponentially as the amount of Interceptors increases.

Alone it poses a serious threat, and in swarms it can spell disaster for those unlucky enough to come across them.​

Due to specialized plating and sensor-scrambling equipment, it is near impossible to detect with radar, allowing for lightning-fast surprise attacks. It has an extremely impressive payload, allowing for missile raids on heavily armed enemies or a rain of plasma on infantry. Early prototypes were easily brought down by shoulder-to-air missiles, leading to the attachment of two auto-defense lasers, adding to the Helicopter’s already impressive defense force. Usually travels in groups.

Description: Bulky, armored, and reliable are good words to describe the Sicarius-class Troopship, frequently cited as the “most reliable lander in the galaxy”. Known for it’s thick double armor and redundant, EMP-shielded systems, the Troopship designed and employed by the Empire ensures that their soldiers land safely. Heavy weapons allow landing zones to be cleared and defended, with repulsorlift technology allowing the Dropship to hover safely out of explosive reach. These ships coupled with the Kohsev Attack Helicopter have allowed for rapid Hutt deployment and retreat, bringing real meaning to the term ‘lightning warfare’.

Description: After the great competition between the Verpine and the Givin during the creation of the Drone Patrol Vessel, the Verpine felt they needed to prove their superiority to their Hutt clients. Thus, the Scarab-class War Loader was born. Large, insectlike, and advanced, these heavily armored and lightly armed loaders use massive thrusters to propel themselves at lightning speeds through atmosphere, allowing for support in minutes. Unlike their troop-based counterparts, these vessels specialize in deploying vehicles, and are capable of lifting up to two Twisferum Mechs, three Tyrell Mechs, or four tanks.

Description: Due to the lack of Hutt Military presence on many of their controlled worlds, a great need for automated defenses arose. Special developments and designs from the Givin and Verpine went into the construction of the Patrol Droid/Speeder, cleverly christened the Drone. Using advanced AI protocols, this tiny vessel patrols Hutt Territory, using advanced sensors and it’s MiniDrone Scout to ensure compliance amongst Hutt citizens. While it is lightly armed and armored, it is highly expendable and typically only used as reconnaissance: heavier security forces deal with any sign of trouble. However, it has a deadly repeater cannon capable of pulverizing a humanoid- the MiniDrone having the capability to fire Connor Nets, stunning and incapacitating enemies for the coming police.
Although uncommon, it is not unheard of for Hutt Commanders to deploy Drones in urban warfare.

Description: Named after its conceptual designer, the Tyrell-class Attack Vehicle, otherwise shortened to the Tyrell Mech, is the first of its kind deployed by the Hutt Imperial Military. Built on old treaded wheels, the Tyrell is capable of traversing rough terrain with ease, unlike it’s repulsorlift cousins. It’s main weapons are actually miniaturized and stripped down models of capital-grade turbolasers, built to shred armored opponents from great distances. Meanwhile, it’s chaingun repeater cannons can handle close-up encounters from light and medium armored threats. Beneath the ‘head’ of the vessel is a powerful shield generator, able to repulse everything but the thickest attacks.

Description: Along with the deployment of the Tyrell Mech came its brother model, the Tiwsferum-class. Named after the former High Admiral, the Tiwsferum has gained the nickname of “Towers” due to it’s impressive three-layered height, sporting a vast array of weapons systems for any need. All of its bases can rotate together or independently, allowing for combat in all directions at once. The bottom layer holds the heaviest weapons- plasma cannons built to shred oncoming tanks. The second layer is the main anti-infantry weapon, equipped with armor piercing (and sometimes explosive) rounds. The third and most versatile layer holds two weapon types- the bottom two tubes equipped with Thermal Detonator launchers for infantry, building, and vehicle attacks, and the top tubes equipped with anti-aircraft missiles to defend troops from aerial harm. It is the more common sight out of the two mechs despite its difficulty to deploy- they often require their own landers after ground has been secured. However, in times of great duress they can be lifted by a pair of Sicarius loaders.

Description: Originally commissioned by the Alzoc III government as defense against planetary invaders, the Alzoc Mobile Fortress was adopted by the Hutt Government as an artillery unit (after modifications on the height design). Sporting an impressive array of long-range weapons, the Mobile Fortress can accurately attack enemies from fourteen kilometers away while successfully defending against attacks with its score of laser repeaters. It is capable of carrying two platoons of soldiers with support or sixteen Drone scouts, giving legitimacy to its claim as a traveling base. Although expensive, it is surely deemed worthwhile, and as many as a two dozen of these vessels can be found on any given Hutt world, augmenting both ground and space control.

Description: Newly created to fill the expanding need for a single-pilot war machine, the Basilisk war droid was designed by the Basiliskans with the Mandalorian warriors in mind, and the Hutt Empire was quick to foot the bill. Using the latest in droid technology, the Basilisk can work independently but is much more effectively used for riding as a war mount, able to wreak havoc on any battlefield it is deployed in. Due to its thick armor and heavy shielding, the war droids can actually be ridden through an atmosphere for landing procedures.

Description: Created for the Ryloth Military before its absorption into the Hutt Empire, the Cyclic Rifle/Shotgun is an expensive, yet highly deadly weapon that has found its way into the Imperial ranks. It gets its name from the energy rifle system composing the top barrel: as the internal chamber spins, it generates insane amounts of energy for fire, reducing drain on the tibanna cartridge and negating the high production cost in the long run. In addition, the vicious Twi’lek dictators called for a lower-slung shotgun attachment firing twelve gauge spread or buckshot from an internal ammunition tube. It is usually found in the hands of police forces, commando units, Darksaber Squadron, and Imperial Royal Security. Single fire or three round burst only (energy), single fire only (shotgun).

Instead, Tusa offered a batch to the Taung and distributed the “Enforcer’s Handgun” to his troops, allowing his men to effectively control his subjects and paving the way to command. The Enforcer’s Handgun is sturdy, reliable, and packs a punch. However, it is exceedingly rare, as it was never commissioned for military use. Instead, it finds its way into field agents’ kits.

Description: Built from the ground up using the finest materials and computer systems in the galaxy, Darksaber Armor is highly resistant to energy and concussion forces, while retaining a natural weakness to slugs (which can be offput by an additional 10 kg set of plates). Since DSS typically operates in space, Tusa saw the need to outfit his best with a short-term survival mechanism against vacuum, leading to a pressurized suit and oxygen tank. Strategic placement of stim injectors keeps the user wearing Darksaber Armor at full alertness, and electronic wiring under the mesh slightly augments a user’s strength and speed. Because of the careful balance of the suit to the user, a being must be custom fit for Darksaber armor.
