"And we now go live to our reporter, Raz Halstreen, in front of the Hutt Moguls Palace on Nal Hutta for a special news report. Moments ago, 'Supreme Mogul' of the Hutt Clans, Nor'baal Desilijic, informed the galactic press he was soon to make an announcement. We warn that some of this broadcast viewers' imagery may be distressing." the report began as the screen changed to show the approach to the 'Grand Palace of the Mogul' on Nal Hutta, the personal residence of Nor'baal Desilijic on the planet. On each side of the approach, stakes had been driven into the ground, from which hung, upside down and bound, the bodies of unnamed figures, the sigil of the Desilijic branded into their chests. This gory display was tastefully blurred for many viewers, as camera drones did their best to restrict complaints.
At the apex of the approach to the Palace, which was dominated by a vast crowd of locals, a line of Gamorreans stood, weapons bared, behind a wall of floor-mounted energy shields. Behind them, a palanquin born by slaves attired in the tabards of the Desilijic Clan, held aloft the Hutt Mogul, Nor'baal, who looked imperiously out over the crowd of supplicants. Finally, the camera drone panned down to reporter Raz Halstreen, who began to speak "Just moments ago, Nor'baal appeared just at the top of the approach here, unveiling a gory display of what our experts can now confidently say appear to be the bound, and very much deceased, bodies of a range of Mandalorian warriors, divested of their armour, and branded with the sigil of Nor'baals clan. A leak from inside the Palace suggests that the display was erected earlier today, following an alleged assassination attempt on the leader of the Hutt Clans, so-called 'Supreme Mogul', Nor'baal." he paused as some commotion took place around the Hutt "Just in viewers, it appears the Hutt is about to speak.
With that, the drone flew away, presenting a wide shot of the Hutt as he spoke through a translator droid.
Drawing up to his full height, Nor'baal waved the translator closer and began to rumble out his speech <Citizens of Hutt Space, loyal and grateful subjects of the Clans, I present to you all today the bodies of assassins. Just this very morning, assassins from the entourage of disgraced and exiled Mandalorian Kotii, allegedly of the House 'Solus' attempted to take the life of my great person and have, to the man, been put to the sword. Only their leader, the one called 'Kotii' remains.> he gestured callously down the approach to his palace where the bodies of the traitors hung before he continued <Henceforth, the Hutt Clans declare the name 'Kotii' to be unlawful, and all citizens of Hutt Space to bear the name by the day's end, shall be executed as traitors.> a soft gasp went around the crowd, as the paranoid, and somewhat unhinged Hutt continued to address them.
<The supporters of Kotii are hereby outlawed from Hutt Space, and the scions of the man himself shall be brought to heel, their ancestors defiled and their histories erased, and his children and bloodline shall be purged. Their world, Tol Amn, shall be rendered to ash, and the glory of the Clans, restored. In recognition of my glorious victory over these assassins, a festival of games shall be held one week hence, sponsored by the Desilijic, and accessible to all.> he proclaimed, to raptorious applause from the assembled massed, as the ever popular 'bread and circuses' method of government proved a continued success. The Hutt fell silent, and the camera panned back to Raz Halstreen.
"Well, there you have it, folks. Following a failed assassination attempt, it appears that the Hutts have taken measures to exact revenge against their assailant, including, for some reason, making it a death sentence to actually be called 'Kotii' now. We are unsure of the exact whereabouts of Kotii; however, as you can see, the warriors that came with him appear to have been executed. The Hutts have pledged to 'raze' Tol Amn, a planet presumably with some links to the offending, and apparently exiled, Mandalorian House, and have pledged to exile the supporters of this 'Kotii' from Hutt Space and, from what we gather, exterminate Kotiis immediate family and bloodline." he paused as he checked through his notes to make sure he had not missed anything before carrying on "And they're also declaring a period of games, presumably public fights in the arenas, in celebration of Nor'baals continued survival. This combination of events, whilst not unprecedented, normally shows the Hutts are trying to make some sort of 'statement', a show of strength and cruelty such as this, presumably to ward off any other would-be assassins.
