DESCRIPTION
One of the newest droids designed by Newton Arden for Blackwell Automata, the HW-64 (or 'Hawking') Repulsorlift Combat Droid was designed to combat the AMS galaxy-wide pandemic that has ravaged a lot of the Outer Rim and even found it's way in the Core Worlds. In addition find it's way fulfilling other useful niche to market it the design for others.

The Hawking Droid is a repuslor-lift combat droid. Experts agree that droids are the most effective way to fight AMS inefected zombies, rather than organics who are supectiable to infection. But unlike ground-based droids which can still be attacked, damaged, and possibly disabled; these particular droids have the advantage of being in the air. As zombies are grounded and lack ability to use ranged weapons, the Hawking droid hovers and flies in the air beyond their reach, allowing them to blast them from above.

The droid flies at a good speed, faster than the D3-NB droid's maximum run speed, although not as fast as a common bird, slower than even the A7-TR. These droids have good maneuverability in the air, flying and hovering freely in the low atmosphere, moving horizontally and vertically in addition to flying forward. The droid's twin-blaster fires two shots, which are packed tightly and equal in power combined to the BM-548 Blaster Rifle. The repuslorlift droid is also able to record visual and audio and store it.

With sleek, modern plasteel plating, it's main body is protected on par with light armor, although it's repulsorlifts are a weakpoint, disabling/destroying or heavily damaging one will destabilize the droid, with it crashing on the ground afterwards.

These droids were also geared up to serve in other roles other than anti-AMS outings, with recording equipment and an option of it's twin-linked blaster having a stun mode, it can serve well in a police role, or can serve well for military and general security purposes. These models come in any desired color scheme.

When not in use, two landing gears keep the HW stabilized when landed and it's repulsorlift wings will fold up for easier storage.

The Hawking Droid is programmed with rudimentary intelligence, although programmed with some tactics like side-strafing the target while firing. The HW also possesses blocks to the the AI to make sure personality growth is hampered. Of course there are ways around that (and doing such things will void any warranty). The HW-64 droids will speak in simple droidspeak. The cost for one of these droids are pricey for a droid of their size, but in bulk they are very expensive.

LEGALITY
Restricted. The HW-64 droids require special permits and licensing for ownership in most regions. As these are repulsorlift capable droids as well as being combat enabled these droids are under much more scrutiny than land-based droids, especially in populated jurisdictions with air control.

INTENT
To provide the site with a potent combat-capable flying droid (that's not a ship). My character Newton would try pushing this design (among other Blackwell droid design) for the fight against AMS. Also these droids also have a number of possible uses for the roleplay, such as using these for law enforcement (NPC or otherwise), as adversities to fight, to gather for a faction's forces, as a good basis for reskins and possibly scary droids when infected with Instance XIII
