Ithor reaffirms closed borders after Jedi Temple attack
  • Ithors usual peace was shattered after a herdship came under attack.
  • The attack caused the ship to fall onto the planet below.
  • Heavy damage on the 'living planet', as experts unable to confirm scale.

The ordinarily peaceful planet of Ithor has seen its tranquillity shattered this week after an attack on a herdship caused it to impact with the world below.

Hosting a Jedi Temple, the herdship was assaulted by an unknown figure, who caused enough damage to send the ship down to the surface of the planet.

Ithorian authorities confirmed that 'only a fraction of the populace was able to make it off the station' with the casualties estimated to be in the 'thousands'.

Jedi sources have confirmed that four members of the Jedi Order died in the attack, alongside 'countless others within the Jedi temple'.

The fate of the attacker remains unconfirmed.

As a result of the attack, the damaged herdship collided with the surface of Ithor itself, causing widespread fires which have yet to be contained.

Ithors Supreme Council, which governs the planet, had today reaffirmed their closed borders policy, which forbids offworlders from stepping foot on the planet itself.

It is understood that this could be expanded to cover the herdships themselves in an attempt to prevent future attacks from occurring.

Ithors government stressed that it has always had a closed-border policy, and offered no comment on the tolerance of Jedi Temples on their herdships.

Imperial 'hit-squads' on the rise, with cross-border attacks.

  • A squad of imperial droids 'took out' a civilian on Nar Shadda late last night.
  • The attack took place in broad daylight, escalating the Hutt-Sith conflict.
  • Latest assault shows Imperials acting 'cross-border'.

Shocking scenes on Nar Shaddaa last night, with a pleasant bar evening turned to tragedy after Imperial droids arrived.

Sources need to be more clear as to who the intended target was.

One fatality was reported on the scene, with the droid entering accompanied by a squadron of B1s and cutting a civilian down in the bar area.

Authorities have confirmed that the Confederate-era droids are linked to the Empire and operated under their remit.

The Empire has not commented on the allegations.

A tactical droid, which has not been apprehended, led the attack before looting its victim's body and stealing away into the night.

Concerns abound that the attack escalates the ongoing Imperial conflict with the Hutt Cartel.

Furthermore, the attack is the first covert operation to be exposed and recorded in public, outside of Imperial space.

CCTV at the bar caught the action, which can be viewed on the Herald website.

The victim of the attack has not been identified, and Hutt authorities have refused to comment to the press.

If you have any information about this attack, contact your nearest Herald office. All witnesses and sources will be dealt with in confidence.

COMMENT: Systech, how one Corporation keeps on top.

It's a company almost nobody has heard of, yet its products manage to make their way into our daily lives. From adreno stims, agricultural fertilizer and animal products, all the way through medical gels, droid oils and industrial coolants, the manufacturing arm of Systech Corporation has influence everywhere.

And yet, based in the Corporate Sector and not yet floated on the Galactic Stock Exchange, its accounts pass through private auditors, far from the public's prying eyes, and its taxes end up in the coffers of the CSA.

Systech is owned by a web of holding companies, with a degree of complexity so acute that it becomes almost impossible to track down its owners. To date, it has stayed off the radar and likely continues to do so.

However, here at the Herald, we can confirm recent organizational structure changes, with the CEO, Sebastian Hipori, being removed late last night and replaced, insiders have revealed. The move comes after recent changes in the company's ownership structure. A holding company secures a majority stake and instructs the firm to sharpen its tax affairs, reducing its liability for trades outside the CSA.

Rumours suggest that the change in CEO, who has yet to be publically confirmed, come ahead of forthcoming elections for the executive board of the CSA itself. The company owners want to take a more proactive approach in the polls, opening the firm's coffers to make political donations - a common practice in the Sector.

I intend to try and do this each weekend, so stories during the week would be best, to allow me time to write them up.

Thanks to @Eccles @Sreeya @SlagathorTheUnknown @Charles for tip-offs and their great threads, which made it into the news this week.
