DESCRIPTION
The I4 Ionizer is a specialized craft, designed and manufactured by Koensayr Manufacturing, the makers of the the venerable Y-Wing. The Ionizer carves out a niche for itself with it's array of ion weapons, hence the craft's name.With it's main armament, the two quad ion cannons; it can easily disable most smallcraft, from snubfighters to light freighters. Once it does, it can either leave the vessel for capture or permanently eliminate the target with it's two light laser cannons. For larger craft up to corvettes, the Ionizer is very efficient at ripping through enemy shields as well. For capital ships, the Ion Cannons can disable ship subsystems with direct hits. The craft also carries two torpedo to aid in striking larger ships.
The Ionizer is expensive ship but it doesn't have as wide of a niche as the Y-Wing, so they are a rare sight in the galaxy. Rarely they will end up in the hands of pirates or other criminal gangs, or find themselves in the service of Bounty Hunters or a Sector Ranger.
