IMPERIAL DETENTION FORCE ARMOR

Armor designed for members of the Imperial Detention Force. Their armor was stylized to be reminiscent of the Red Guard and the Praetorian Guard used by the Galactic Empire and First Order respectively. Those who wear it immediately command respect as elite members of Imperial law enforcement and are feared for being the fist of the Sith Champion Vex who oversees the prisons on the Imperial prison world of Belsavis.

The armor features black plates and a red undersuit with the domelike helmets once worn by Darth Sidious' Royal Guard. It also features a detachable armorweave cape that gives them an aura of regality and elegance despite being mostly viewed as grim reapers by those unfortunate enough to encounter them.

LEGALITY

Legal. Mostly seen in Sith space, the armor is legal throughout the Empire and subject to whatever armor restrictions are found elsewhere in the galaxy when members travel outside the Empire's borders.

INTENT

To give an armor for the Imperial Detention Force NPCs (and any PCs made for them).

RESTRICTIONS
None.

Functions

Function 1: Thermal Undersuit
  • Thermal undersuits wick away or reflect thermal energy for brief periods of time. They are not nearly as effective as a suit that firefighters would wear. Most commonly used to protect soldiers from flamethrower weapons or short bursts of extreme heat or cold, and are only good for 1-2 posts of exposure depending on intensity. They are useless against blasters.
Function 2: Armorweave Cape
  • Most often in the form of a heavy cape, skirt, or underlay beneath armor, armor weave provides some protection against the penetrating effects of shrapnel from explosives and other unpowered high velocity impacts, with only a small amount of bleed through damage (bruising or very minor wounds). It offers no protection against kinetic impact or energy, vibroweapons, or similar "powered" weapons. Having more than one accessory (example: Cape + underweave) provides no additional effect.
Function 3: Vision Modes
  • This Allows a Helmet HUD to cycle to low-light OR thermal vision modes.
Function 4: Gauntlet Buckler
  • Liked by bounty hunters and mercenaries, this small deployable shield on one forearm that provides protection over the space of 40 cm diameter circle, which is enough to usually cover the distance of the arm from fist to elbow. It can protect the wearer from 1 medium damage attack or 2 light damage attacks before deactivating. Heavy damage attacks are partially reduced, and deal "bleed through" equivalent to light damage. Once used, the shield must recharge and cannot be used again for the duration of the thread. The buckler has to be manually activated and deactivated. No other gauntlet functions may be used while the shield is deployed.
Function 5: Concealed Blade
  • Concealed blades are typically 4-6 inches in length and lock into place once extended. They are almost always placed along the fore-arm or boot. They are no substitute for true combat knives as the locking mechanism can break under strong impacts. Still, some people enjoy them as a helpful backup.
