New Sith Imperium
Imperial Diplomatic Corps

The New Sith Imperium spans the greater majority of the Galaxy, the entirety of the populous and influential Core, ruling thousands of worlds, and controls the lives of countless lives. Such a task would be impossible to achieve without the good-will of all those sentient beings. And the task of securing that good-will and cooperation of all the worlds within the Imperium, falls to the Imperial Diplomatic Corps, or the IDC.

Created in 1,013 ABY after the Fall of Coruscant by Darth Vereor, the Diplomatic Corps was designed to be the public face of the New Sith Imperium to the rest of the galaxy. Chosen from amongst the most talented and loyal agents of the Imperial Intelligence community, when they entered negotiations they carried the full weight and power of the Imperial Throne with their words and were charged with peacefully subjugating a planetary population without the need for an invasion fleet. Intelligent and cultured men and women, trained in the arts of subtle negotiation and diplomacy, were sent to many star systems with the basic underlying theme; 'You can either sit, have wine with us, and chat about the most profitable future for your people or watch as the military that follows lays waste to your homeworld.'

Needless to say the Corps gained extensive notoriety for both leading and following after any Imperial Military invasions, offering mostly fair terms to the planetary government in exchange for their loyalty, and establishing Imperial embassies and offices in important places like Holonet centers, spaceports, and government buildings to ensure a swift and stable regime change.

Imperial Diplomats are drafted from all walks of life, but all are highly cultured and attractive, they all possess exceptional intelligence and charisma, and are all schooled for several years within the Corps, where they learn many fine skills, such as, quite obviously, diplomacy, etiquette, several different languages, history, alien culture, and many other skills.

Ranks:

The ranks of the Imperial Diplomatic Corps are as follows:

  • Spymaster: The Sith Lord holding the title of Spymaster is the secret head of the Ambassadors Corps, passing on directives from the Throne to the Chief Ambassador and having control over the recruitment processes.
  • Chief Ambassador: The leader of the Ambassador Corps, the Chief Ambassador is sent on the most important diplomatic assignments and is often accompanied by junior ambassadors to observe. Chosen for his eloquence and track record, the Chief Ambassador is most often serving as the Voice of the Imperial Throne, delivering their demands and terms to friend and foe alike. Secretly reports to the Spymaster on the Corps doings and objectives.
  • Ambassador: The middling rank and the largest pool of Corps members, Ambassadors are promoted from the ranks of the Junior Ambassador when they have proven themselves worthy of the promotion, usually upon their third successful negotiations. Very rarely does a Junior Ambassador secure his promotion during their second or first negotiation, though it has happened.
  • Junior Ambassador: Chosen from within the Sith or the Imperium by Ubiqtorate and put through extensive mental checks for signs of dissent or disloyalty, as well as a vigorous background and period of mental review, the Junior Ambassadors are the lucky few who work towards the right to represent the Empire on a battleground far different from the on-going wars. Their blasters are their words, their shields are their wits, but like any loss on the battlefield, defeat is often swiftly followed by death. They are the speakers of the Empire, and they serve it's will faithfully and without hesitation.
