Independent Faction Expansion Requests

What has been hindering a review on Key work expansion is the lack of real substance of justification due to major blow after major blow.

Current expansion on hold, as you're under attack. Even if I approve it right now it is inaccessible for the current battle

I have re-reviewed the expansion request. My issue had been the 100+ ships in the present version, which ICly there wasn't much justification for due to having received major blows. Upon review, I will approve the original faction expansion request for the 4 Haranovs, only. This part of the expansion request was submitted prior to the attack and you had been waiting for some time, which was not your fault. However, the addendum will need to wait until after the battle due to it having been added in after the onset of the battle. The Haranovs WILL be allowed in your current battle due to it having been done prior to the battle.

Thank you Dmitri :) That works! I was slightly confused by your wording. I understand that the haranovs are approved and usable now. I understand that the fighters wouldn't be usable until after the battle. However you didn't say they were approved at all. Are you saying you will look into approving them after the battle? Or are you asking for more information? Thanks :)

Are you referring to the battle with the Pirates or the battle with the Bogan?

FACTION NAME: The Mandalorian Confederacy

EXPANSION JUSTIFICATION: IC the Mandalorian Confederacy has slowly grown to accommodate other clans and clanless Mandos, as well as making several key deals with the Cartel and Rebellion which secured them political capital and military alliances by helping destroy and capture KES' base at Sirius Primarus, as well as manning the shipyards over Roon. With the Rebellion's aid the Mandalorians have established a new manufacturing company called MandoTech using the repaired shipyards secured from previous battles and housed over Roon as well as other new and repaired ground side facilities on Roon. The Confederacy has deals to produce arms and equipment as well as warships for both the Cartel and the Rebellion. MandoTech also sells excess stock to independent groups which the Confederacy is unable to use. The Mandalorians have also made it a point to return to their raider routes and have been attacking Slavers and Pirates as well as disposing of despots and warlords. OOC we're one of the largest active Indie factions, and the largest Mandalorian faction and we are still growing. We've been involved in several threads and have plans for more.

The level of activity from those threads impresses me. It's good to see a faction going strong, and having a diverse amount of members helping the faction out.

My review is not complete yet. The biggest obstacle right now is the combination of the addendum armada and the creation of MandoTech. MandoTech I have no issue with, but the manpower and resources needed to start it up and keep it running (remember, companies have a lot of employees, which requires a lot of funds). Ships too require a lot of crewmen. Both for the company AND the ships, that is a ton of people. A bit ambitious, even for this. My recommendation is cutting down on the amount of ships. You know what you need more than I, so I'll let you send a refurnished list of ships, so you can decide what you need most and what can be removed. And remember that being a manufacturing company, it needs ships too. Transports for materials and ships to export products. So you may want to give a slight focus on what ships can transport that.

Dis is a fair accessment. The Kyzer said to go big since the worst they can do is ask to tone it down. While I'm definitely not going to argue with your points, I would simply like to add/emphasize what me and Kyle discussed. So I figured it was marginally reasonable to assume that due to Roon's shipyards a portion of the population still there would have had experience working there, so MandoTech would offer all those people back their jobs as well as see about hiring new workers from Roon and other friendly planets to help stimulate the economy. And as for ship crew we figured the Confederacy is effectively the largest known Mando faction with strong ties to the Rebellion and Cartel, so getting new recruits and old warriors to join up wouldn't be as hard as it had been in the past.

In any case, I'll start by hacking off some ships and look into some supply ships, or maybe getting a contract for third party shipping. As a further note I am more than happy to have some ships start off at less than maximum capacity for its crew if that would make a difference.

@Dmitri how does it sound for me to remove the Keldabe and the Nebulon for some basic bulk freighters as well as some of the fighters? That would free up about 8,000 crew slots right there and quite a bit of material and costs. With the exception of the Hyperion, which I'm willing to have start out not fully crewed, everything else has a fairly small crew requirement.

That sounds reasonable. I'd also recommend taking out the Phantasm. Stealth ships cause more trouble than they're worth.

@Dmitri how's that? The transports only require 480 crew and I figured their widely mass produced and easily obtainable models of freighter second hand for dirt cheap.
