Indupar countryside
Elegant music reverberated off the walls as the sun sat high within the clear skies of Indupdar, signaling the time in which guests were meant to start arriving for the charity gala. The event had been organized by the prince and recently appointed Governor of Indupar, Galek Ordalos, as a way to raise money for AMS relief effort. As such, formal invitations had been sent out to Governors, Senators and other high-ranking members of society from across the galaxy - regardless of whether they represented the ISC, Free Worlds Alliance or the Republic.

Indupar was a neutral world after all, one which had been carefully weighing the benefits of throwing their lot in which any of the rivaling factions. With any luck, Galek would have the opportunity to interact with representatives of all of them tonight. Perhaps they would have the opportunity to sway his decision.

The royal villa where the dinner was hosted at had been chosen deliberately, a choice made to avoid the hustle-and-bustle that came with the capital, while also flaunting the vast natural beauty that the planet was known for. The grand hall where they were led was spacious, with several rows of tables lined against the walls of the room, piled high with the finest entrees this side of the galaxy – leaving the center of the room open for socialization and dancing. The left-most wall of the hall meanwhile opened into a wide pillared balcony with additional tables and seating areas, providing those in attendance with an absolutely stunning view of the rushing rivers and towering waterfalls that surrounded the estate.

While reporters on inside of the event had thankfully been kept to a minimum per Galek's orders, the prospect of so many important figures in a single place brought them to cluster along the sides of the literal red carpet laid out at the the estate entrance – journalists and photographers alike desperate to catch a glimpse of who would be the first to enter.

Positioned at the center of the hall, Galek stood with a flute of champagne in one hand, watching with glee as dozens of server droids and attendants flitted about the room, hauling trays filled with flutes of champagne, wine glasses and a variety of exotic hor d’oeurves. The prince was adorned in a finely tailored white suit with elegant gold trim, ever-so-stylishly accessorized with an aurodium chrono on his wrist. He intended on making a memorable first impression, after all, and his choice of attire would certainly contribute to that effort.

“Guests are just arriving, Your Highness.” An attendant spoke up.

Galek smiled at the prospect, bringing the flute to his lips. “Good, good. Please see them inside.”

Let us make this a night to remember.

It had been a fair bit of time since Emryc himself had attended one of these. With powerful and extremely reliable Governors on his executive council, Hipori and York excelled in representing the ISC on their own. Emryc spent most of his time as President on policies and helping build up the infrastructure. Most recently he had been involved in the central bank and the introduction of the Consortium Crown currency. While it was surreal that there would now be credit chits with his profile on them, it was just one of the ways Emryc Thorne planned to make himself eternal.

Indupar was a welcomed break from the ecumenopolis planets he frequented. He had been staring out the window the entire way to the villa. Ever since he had regained his sight, he had made a commitment to take special care to drink in all his surroundings and never take them for granted. A trail of smoke followed him as he puffed on his cigarra out of the window. He had finished by the time they arrived, disposing of the cigarra. He took his cologne and splashed himself with a few sprays to get rid of the cigarra smoke smell.

Emryc stepped out when an attendant opened the door, taking in sight of the massive villa. He strode up the steps, for once not having to duck to make his way past the entrances. The grand hall was massive, his fluted ears picking up the roaring sounds of waterfalls behind the balcony ahead.

The half Sephi dressed polished, but simple, adorned in a blue suit with a tasteful chrono to match. His clothing was perfectly tailored to fit his large frame. His hair was gelled and styled, not a strand out of place. Emryc was an easily recognizable figure and several attendants and droids came over to offer him a drink. He picked up a glass of whiskey before making his way over towards the host.

Indupar. Korre was only vaguely familiar with the planet and its people, but she was more than happy to attend a charity event concerning the AMS virus. Her planet had remained safe from the AMS virus thus far due to strict travel restrictions and quarantining, but she was very aware that not every planet was even able to attempt to do the same. Unfortunately, Belasco had been hesitant to sink too much money or time into the development of the vaccine, but maybe that would change tonight. It was one of the issues most important to her.

The Belascan senator was one of the first to arrive at the party, dressed in a long, emerald green gown with an open back to showcase her tattoo, as well as a pair of tall silver heels on her feet. Green was one of her favorite colors to wear; it went so well with the warm hue of her hair. It was curled into loose waves that fell to her mid-back, part of it secured together with a silver hair pin. The clicking of her heels grew louder as she entered the marble-floored hall with a sociable grin on her face. Her eyes drank in the hall before her, though she was a bit disappointed to see there were only two others (minus the servants) who arrived so far. Damn, I hate being early.

Korre shrugged to herself and headed straight for Galek and Emryc, but not before plucking a glass of something from a platter offered to her by a servant. Oh well, might as well be early for once. She stopped before Galek, giving the Induparian prince a bright smile.

"Governor Ordalos, isn't it?" Korre would give the man a quick bow of her head before noticing Emryc. "And President Emryc, what a surprise! It's pleasure to make your acquaintance." The lady would give him a quick bow of her head as well. "Senator Belasi, of Belasco. I love this, by the way. This hall? Lovely! And Indupar? I've never been before, but what a lovely planet."

She really loved parties, and tonight would be a great way to make some new connections.

Jade hadn't been visibly active in the grander political scene of the galaxy, or even the ISC, instead focusing her attention on getting things Llanic's sector of space in order. Quite a few things needed to be tweaked, adjused, and corrected now that the known shadowport was meant to be a part of a larger and more respectable faction and Governor Archer intended to whip it into proper shape.

High heels click-clacked on the fine flooring, the polished black leading up to a
red suit ensemble. Her hair was neatly tied up into a formal, twisting bun, kept well in place by a jade-tipped hairpin. Eyes like sharpened chips of ice swept the room by force of habit. Llanic was certainly not a place free of natural places and far-off villas but such estates tended to be own by the world's version of nobles.

Which were well to-do crime families more often than not. This new setting was a welcome shift into the greater political galaxy for Governor Archer. By her estimation is was about time she got properly to work. The woman's self-sure steps brought her swiftly to the grouping of others, picking up scattered words of greeting and conversation.

"Prince Ordalos, isn't it?" She asked rhetorically with the tiniest sly little curl at the edge of red-tinted lips. "I'd heard Indupar was an impressive sight." Jade glanced toward one of the wide areas through which the landscape could be seen. "But I think it must have been painted into place." Then to President Thorne who absolutely towered over her, though her gaze didn't waver. "I've been eager to meet you outside a holocomm, Mr. President. You're even taller in person" And then the green-garbed woman who'd arrived just before her. "Your dress is lovely. May I ask who made it, miss..?"

A hand was offered to shake in greeting along with a little half bow to each.

"Governor Jade Archer, Llanic. A pleasure to meet you all."

With the research of the vaccine entering its' final trials, the Doctor was more or less pushed by majority vote to attend yet another gala, this time on the planet of Indupar. MorataCorp would have to gain support for its' next venture, and if she would be seen socializing with the greats of the galaxy for the vaccine efforts, she would put her best foot forward.

A foot clad in gold.

Unlike her appearance at the mercy ship fundraising, she would be a woman clad in
brilliant gold. Matching the glint in amber eyes, gold leaf had been twisted into a delicate laurel crown through long white strands, with dangling earrings in matching amber drops. Otherwise unadorned, one shoulder was left bare, revealing the prosthetic right arm with unflinching visibility, the left sheathed in a long, flowing sleeve. Every step glinted, fire-bright, in the warm glow of the lighting, head held high as she walked in. Gold dusted her eyelids and lips; she remembered the impression she first made with Corran on that party barge in Nar Shaddaa.

She would not disappoint with her entrance.

Similar to President Thorne, the moment she arrived there had been hushed whispers and servers approaching. For the time being, she didn't want to drink. She wanted to keep a sharp mind. Already, there were politicians. One of which was a frame she would recognize anywhere; Emryc's back was to her for the time being, but she didn't mind that view quite so much.

She would give the Prince a dip of her head, her mellifluous voice joining the others.

"I am honored at the invitation, your Majesty. President Thorne," golden eyes glinted, "a pleasure. And... Senator Korre and Governer Jade? A pleasure to be in your company as well." She would not spend time on small talk and pleasantries, however, but instead accept a flute of champagne, not to drink from outright, but to hold, to have an excuse ready in case she needed it.

The night certainly promised to be intriguing with so many interesting people already beginning to cluster.

The Secretary of the Treasury of the ISC wondered if the galactic masses would get tired of his face at some point. Another gala with the press meant more photos of him floating around the Holos. But, this was part of the job. Retaining worlds already in the ISC and recruiting new ones meant more links in the supply chain and more revenue for the ISC. And let's be frank- York loved the part of the job that involved high quality liquors and beautiful women in formals.

York exited his speeder, dressed in a perfectly tailored royal blue suit minus the typical dress shirt and tie. Instead, he wore a crisp, bleach white designer long sleeve t-shirt under the jacket. The pocket square equaled the whiteness of the shirt but was bordered in a perfectly matching royal blue of his suit. It was borderline casual for such an event, but York was a businessman, and he wanted everyone in the room feeling comfortable with him. So, he decided to look comfortable himself.

He smiled and gave short waves to the media on the way into the palace and nodded to some familiar places. Thorne (@Sreeya ) was just leaving the bar, and York would give him a customary greeting of "Mr. President," as he continued to the bar. Whiskey was the down to business drink, a no-nonsense message. Tonight, he wanted to put people at ease, and wasn't entirely sure he wanted to work himself. Adult conversation, easy and fun...but at the same time, sending the signal that he could be provoked to talk business. A gin and tonic on the rocks with a two lime slices sent the perfect image.

He gave it ordered and laid wait at the bar while the bartender mixed his drink.

"Good Morning Director Hipori." a well-built security guard nodded to her as she walked past him, and into the Blackwell Technologies building on Indupar. She nodded at the Security guard, accepted a call as she walked through the lobby and entered the elevator at the back of the hall.

"They've cancelled?" Julia snapped down her comlink as she walked into the elevator. She'd been due to meet with representatives from the Czerka Corporation over mediating a copyright dispute. Both parties knew what it was really about, Czerka wanted to muscle Blackwell out of the Security Droid Market, and gobble up the lucrative ISC contracts in the process.

Julias position in the ISC gave her unprecedented access to decided who got that contract.

It was why they'd hired her.

"Fine. Move my midday meeting back, no point updating our corporate counter-intelligence team when we already know what Czerka will do next. That's all."

She ended the call and tapped the roof button in the lift.

Opening a new line to the special operations team as the lift shot from the ground floor to the roof she made her conversation quick "We need to move on the Czerka job. Give them the works, get our execs and manufacturing centres up a security tier, and put more boots on the ground at the transit hubs. Then," the elevator door opened and she walked briskly toward her yacht "...get moving on isolating the Czerka executives, and let's get going on Blackhawk, give them something to worry about."

She ended the call as her yacht took to the sky.

"Secretary, your destination?"

"Indupar Governors Mansion."

The Yacht cut through the Indupar skies, snapping across the heavens to its destination in short measure, before dipping back through the cloud bank and back down toward the ground. Dropping down onto the landing pad, the chromium door opened, and Julia wasted no time walking down to the party below. She had not changed out of her suit, and merely smoothed down her skirt as she stood up, and entered the party.

Spotting the President (@Sreeya) she walked up next to him and swept the whiskey from his hand, downing it as she did so "Oh," she smiled "...droid," she gestured for the passing serving droid "...another, another two of these."

She placed the now empty glass down and looked back at the president "How you doing boss?"

Truth be told, Galek had expected at best only a modest turn out for his gala, but the caliber of guests to arrive so far had blown his expectations out of the water. In just a matter of minutes, representatives from the ISC, FWA and MortaCorp flooded into the marble-floored hall, filling the villa with the sounds of conversation that cut through the roaring waterfalls and elegant music. So far none from the Republic had arrived, but the night was only just beginning.

And what's more, the vast majority of the arrivals had seen fit to greet him nearly all at once.

Oh, to be the host.

Naturally, his gaze fell upon President Thorne first. He was the first arrival after all and was certainly the most important figure to make an entrance thus far. “President Thorne,” Galek extended a hand to shake, a wide smile painted across his face. His grip was notably firm, though not to the point of being overdone. “It is an honor to have you in attendance. Even here on Indupar, word of your exploits at the ISC have been the topic of much conversation.” More than simply being polite, there was a genuine sincerity to his words. The ISC had been a topic of conversation at nearly ever executive council meeting in past weeks, especially with so many of their secretaries – many of whom were already here tonight – dominating the tabloids. “I must congratulate you on the Consortium Crown. Challenging the Republic credit is quite the achievement.”

His attention then fell upon the others who had approached him, addressing each and every one of them individually.

“Senator.." He shook the hand of the woman adorned in emerald green before him, thinking for a moment. “..Belasi.” He said, confident that he’d recalled the name correctly from the hours of drilling the guest-list. “Lovely to meet you. Thank you for making the journey, I know Indupar must feel rather out of the way, coming from all the way from Belasco.”

Hazel eyes then flicked to the woman from Llanic. She must have known the quickest way to the man’s heart, pointing out the beauty of his homeworld. “You are too kind, Governor Archer,” He dipped his head in a courteous bow. “I regret to say I have never had the opportunity to visit Llanic. When time permits, I would very much like to change that.”

Lastly he turned to face Llana, greeting the newest arrival with a bow at the waist. “Miss Morta, the pleasure is all mine. Your efforts to combat AMS are legendary. I believe all of us here, including myself, own you our thanks.” He tipped his glass to the Doctor, a gesture of subtle toast. “And I must say, you look absolutely radiant. You have succeeded in making your host feel positively underdressed by comparison.”

The arrival of two more ISC secretaries did not escape the prince’s notice either, giving each of them a tip of his glass on greeting. He would have introduced himself to each of them individually, were he not already positively preoccupied.

Caliban sipped his drink as he mingled, observing the gathering around Thorne and their host for the evening. He stayed where he was, far from the center of attention, content with avoiding the politics and just having a drink with old friends.

This was his first time attending a social event that wasn't on Vendaxa. The people around were all so high class. It was definitely enjoyable he had shown up a little later than the others, but he had reason. Security didn't recognize him and he had to provide his credentials. The price to pay for not attending socials very often. Thankfully he was able to provide and be on his way into the event for charity.

Management was telling him this was good publicity and that being here for this event would show the people he cared, which was good. He cared how the people thought of him, and being liked by the ones he lead was pretty important. So many people of interest surrounded him, and it was definitely a bit overwhelming. Fortunately he had met a couple of the attendees before, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

"A rather fine place to hold a charity event, I must say."

The Governor stood off to the side looking at the details of the room. Boredom was slowly setting in.

Emryc was always more of an observer in person, contrary to his rather loquacious nature on Holo. He made grand speeches but was known to be detached and speak when opportunity rose. The half Sephi could already see a flock of others making their way over to the host, and he slowed his pace to wait his turn. He came to a stop near the others, towering over them like a sentry. He sipped from his whiskey as the Senator from Belasco greeted the host and Emryc. The half Sephi’s eyebrow quirked just the tiniest bit as he turned to regard her.

“I’m flattered we appear to be on first name basis already,” The baritone voice cut in smoothly as he took another sip from his drink, the faintest glint of amusement dancing in his normal frosty gaze. Emryc next turned to regard Ordalos himself, shaking the man’s hand firmly. His face remained largely impassive as the man praised ISC’s exploits and the new currency.

That was right as the other ISC delegates began to arrive. The half Sephi turned to glance at York, clapping a hand on his shoulder as he looked back at Ordalos, “None of it would be possible if I didn’t have some of the best people on my council. ISC is not a one man show and that’s precisely why we’re ahead in the game,” His gaze flicked over to the FWA Senator to give her a playful wink. He turned back to the host, "This is Soygun York. A man that was once my rival in the Free World Alliance who has since made groundbreaking advancements as Secretary of Treasury - including helping stand up the central bank and our new currency."

He next turned to Jade Archer, one of the newer Governors to join. Prior to this they had only engaged in remote video sessions for their meetings. He nodded his head at her, saying nothing in response to the comment about his height. It was one he got often, followed by some remark about whether he played this sport or that or, his personal favorite, how the weather was up there. He didn't introduce her as she had done it herself.

Emryc’s musings ended when he felt a tug at his whiskey. The drink almost made it out of his hand, but out of sheer and inhuman reflex, he caught the bottom of the glass firmly before a drop could spill. This was done before he had even turned to look, which he did in short order to eye Hipori curiously. While this meant that his drink was untouched, she was free to order several more for herself.

“Rough day, Miss Hipori?” He asked with a neutral tone, though his eyes were frost and piercing into hers in a way that very clearly told her to never touch his drink again. He then turned back to the host, "This is Julia Hipori, my Secretary of Intergalactic Affairs. She has been critical in our well established foreign policy efforts. We've begun to win over many worlds thanks to her efforts alone."

Emryc turned then to regard Ilana, gaze lingering on her for a moment or two longer than necessary. He took a sip from his whiskey, his face largely neutral despite the obvious way he took in sight of her, “Miss Morata,” His voice intoned smoothly, “You grow more radiant each time I see you,” Emryc raised his glass before turning back to gaze towards the host again.

Never, ever in her life had she ever anticipated being bowed to by a Prince. All those years of intensive protocol drills, the countless hours spent learning addresses and proper behavior. And to be here, standing with the galaxy's finest all around her, was felt with a deep sense of self-satisfaction.

I hope you hear all about this, Yselti, and I hope it drives you mad.

No, knowing her Mother, the woman would have stolen all the credit. Yet all this glitz and glamor was a far cry from being a physician stalking the lower levels of Nar Shaddaa, living from patient to patient and sleeping on the street. At the Prince's words she offered a gracious smile, amber eyes glimmering.

"It's appreciated, your Grace," she replied, giving a small toast of her own. "I am honored to have been invited; I could not have imagined a better setting than Indupar, nor better company." Her gaze settled wholly on his own, and for that span of time, he held the entirety of her focus on him.

At Emryc's baritone, her gaze shifted, and she inclined her head, lips curling at the corners.
"Mister Thorne, being in your company is always a pleasure." Same as him, however, her attention shifted to the Prince once more, and she took a polite sip from her champagne flute before speaking once more. "I commend you for hosting a charity gala for AMS, your Grace; it's efforts like these that put us one step closer to ending this tragedy." She had not missed the two Secretaries arriving either; she had briefly met Julia and Soygun before, but never this close in person; she would offer them both a gracious nod.

The gala was beginning to get interesting, especially with the arrival of Caliban Drast and other representing Senators. How many to arrive before they would collect them all? And how many of them would make good dancing partners?

One, two, three, four, five... six. It seemed that despite not being fashionably late, Korre would not have to suffer too long with only one or two people to chat with. Her attention would first be drawn to Jade, a lovely lady who would be nearly a foot shorter than Korre if not for the heels the governor wore. The Belascan woman was absolutely pleased to hear that Jade liked her dress. "Oh, thank you! I will admit it was originally my mother's. I believe...Bonheur? I had it tailored to fit me." Korre had always loved the dress. It had a wonderful energy to it when her mother first received it. "But it is wonderful to meet you!" The red-headed woman would gladly shake her hand. "Senator Kor- Senator Belasi."

The next woman to arrive would cause Korre's eyes to widen and her mouth to drop open just slightly in a happy surprise. She was here? If Korre had to pick a singular person she admired the most out of everyone here, it would be Dr. Ilana Morata. Her research into the AMS vaccine? Wonderful! "Dr. Morata! It is an absolute pleasure to meet you." There was nothing Korre wanted more at the moment than to find time tonight to speak one-on-one with her. She wasn't much for following people outside her own planet, but the doctor's research and findings were incredibly interesting to the senator. Unfortunately, while her people may share the same enthusiasm for science, they would rather close their ports than aid in the cause. Korre aimed to change that as soon as possible.

Korre did not have time to introduce herself to either Julia before Galek finally responded to her greeting. "Oh, of course! The journey was nothing, but I would be glad to attend anything for the AMS relief effort." What hyperspace lanes had her pilot taken? Ootmian Pabol to the Nanth'ri Route... then Hydian Way? She was pretty sure there might have been one more in there. Oh well, she was no pilot. She'd certainly gone to places much further out of her way before. And, as she said, she was glad to attend regardless. Her predecessor had been very... wish-washy on his stance regarding the AMS vaccine and virus. He advocated to close borders, spoke of developing a vaccine, but never actually went out of his way to do anything to help. It was a disgrace, really.

Emryc's pulled Korre out of her little thought train at the sound of his baritone voice. Oh shoot. There goes slip up number one. Despite the potentially embarrassing mishap, Korre just laughed and continued to smile. "Ah, of course! Senator Korre will be just fine then." He didn't seem terribly offended, though he was difficult to read. Korre just rolled with it, her response a mix between joking and seriousness. She'd done well as to refer to everyone as their last name so far. Oh well. In Belascan culture, a person's first name was considered more important than their last. After all, there were many Senator Belasi's of the past. To her people she was Senator Korre. Her grandfather was King Armond, not King Belasi. And so on, so forth. It wasn't the end of the galaxy to her.

The Belscan senator would listen as Emryc went on his little spiel about the greatness of the ISC, grinning when he sent a wink her way. Her grandfather had made the decision to join the Free Worlds Alliance many, many years ago. The decision had not hurt them so far, though granted, it didn't help all that much either. If they were doing well though, good for them. If they were rivals, well, so be it. They had a common goal in mind here though, and that was enough for Korre.

"Dr. Morata," Korre would turn to the doctor once again. "It is incredibly unfortunate to me that my predecessor did not move to aid against the AMS virus, in funding or state-funded research. This will change with me, I can promise you that." Though she had not yet completely persuaded everyone yet, she had been allowed to allot a sizable donation to tonight's charity. Once she got back home--and after her quarantine was over--she would get right on it.

I’m only saying, sir. You should at least try to mingle.

Honestly, the only thing I'd like to mingle with right now is a flute of champagne. Why don’t you fetch me a glass, Venka?

I’m your bodyguard. Not your servant.

There’s a difference?” Jin smirked and continued drifting through the mob of senators and foreign dignitaries, the very picture of grace in his grey wool suit. His personal guard, Venka, trailed him in a flowing green dress. A long needle sat in her dark braid of hair, just one of the many knives she had concealed on her body. Of course, it wasn't like Jin distrusted the host. It was simply customary for a member of the Midori, the elite soldiers who guarded the Vaisra family, to accompany him at all times.

It didn’t take very long for Jin to spot him, though—the man who made tonight happen. Prince Ordalos was about as striking in person as he was in the tabloids, his white suit smoothed to perfection. Jin almost felt intimidated. Especially upon seeing him surrounded by some of the most powerful men and women in the galaxy, including President Thorne. Their presence alone was enough to rattle his nerves.

Not that it stopped him from approaching them anyway.

Prince Ordalos, it’s an honor,” said Jin, his voice slightly accented. “Indupar is beyond gorgeous, and the Fondor delegation is most grateful for your hospitality.” He bowed low, offering the same toward the others clustered around him. He hoped to make plenty of friends before the night was out.

"And the Balmorra delegation is most grateful you didn't hold it on a world clogged by smog," Emil Ro, Senator of Balmorra said, stepping into the hall just behind his contemporary from Fondor. "Rather like my homeworld, or Fondor, am I right, Senator Vaisra?"

It was a shot across the bow, but the best way to break the ice. No one liked a humorless git at a party, and there was already far too much praise going around the room. Emil had heard so many compliments directed at the president and their host just from standing in the doorway that he was afraid if he didn't something, well, else, the whole event would devolve into a circle-jerk. And he didn't have the proper trousers on for that.

But, in the end, he did what was expected of him. He extended a hand to shake that of Prince Ordalos and did his best to smile. "Your planet's beauty exceeded my expectations, Your Grace. Balmorra extends its warmest thanks for the invitation."

With that out of the way, Emil set to work searching for the nearest drink. There was going to be a lot of that going on this evening, so he figured he might as well get started. @Feng Mian @Altaris

Late. Fashionably so. Zohn Maverick, literal titan of Belsavis, decided it was time to start meeting with leaders of galactic organizations. Though he wasn't directly a Senator, he was the de facto political representative of his world. There were whispers of Sith operations in his home sector (though nothing was ever proven) , as well as some upstart that couldn't quite hold all the eggs in their basket.

With the top of his speeder down and his bandana flowing in the wind, Zohn Maverick, wrestling superstar, actor, and political leader would arrive at the estate in question. He was careful as he exited his ride to not damage his suit that looked to be clinging on for dear life due to his twenty-four inch biceps. His trademark yellow and red boa sat wrapped around his neck and the man walked with the swagger of a bronzed god.

Black shades on, Maverick would shoot a grin at one of the attendants at the door, earning a smile. There were also a few other stops as he signed autographs for the fans of his movies. It was also a relief to him that he also, wouldn't have to duck at his imposing frame of 6'7.

Once he entered the main ball room, the shades were removed and tucked into his breast pocket, that grin returning. The music was a tad light, but the drinks were moving and the company was lively.

One of the waiters would make their way over to him. "Sir, may I get you a refreshment?"

"Oh yeah, brother. I could just use one of your ice cold beers, man." He would have to mindful of his movements so as to not rip his suit. The servant would nod and depart, returning after a few moments with a ice cold beer and so with that Maverick would strut around the room, not wanting to interrupt anyones conversations. At least not for now, though he was very mindful of the fact that the ISC seemed to be on Indupar in strength.

Once President Thorne started talking with the host, York felt it was the prefect opportunity to cut in line. After all, he could play the whole "he was with the President" card. As he approached, he heard Thorne say, "This is Soygun York. A man that was once my rival in the Free World Alliance who has since made groundbreaking advancements as Secretary of Treasury - including helping stand up the central bank and our new currency."

York would smile politely and nod to the President of the ISC. "Thank you, Mr. President. You're too kind." He looked at the man of the hour, the Prince of Indupar and said, "Prince Ordalos, it's a pleasure. Beautiful architecture and home."

York would pipe it as Thorne had more introductions to care of. He would nod to the others nearby, taking small sips from his drink as he did so.

[coloe=white]"It's been busy, but then again,"[/color] Julia replied to the President, brushing off the whiskey incident "...that's what you pay me for." she laughed, sweeping one of the drinks off of the approaching tray and rolling her eyes as she felt her comlink buzz again. "You're too kind," she offered as acknowledgement for the Presidents praise before adding "If you'll excuse me?" rhetorically, stepping away from the group and taking the call.

"Hang on." she muttered down the comm "Can barely hear you." Julia added, spotting a door to a balcony and making a beeline toward it.

Opening the door, she headed outside, and took a seat, facing in toward the rest of the gathered dignitaries. "Go ahead." she instructed, listening to the Blackwell agent updating her on the operation which was presently underway on one of the nearby moons.

Her eyes never left the room. The people within milling around Thorne and Morata, vying for their attention. Interestingly, York was probably the one most of them could stand to gain more from sucking up to, she thought to herself, after all, he controlled the purse strings.

"Keep an eye on them, and don't use organics for this. Droids can be wiped." she closed the call, and headed back inside.

So many new arrivals. He thought to himself. At times like this, Galek was grateful for the earpiece subtly tucked within his left canal, some of his own men feeding him a list of basic facts - such as names and planets represented - as the new faces filtered into the room. The arrival of the Senators from Coruscant, Balmorra and Fondor did not escape his notice. The Republic had sent some of their finest, giving the ISC a run for their money.

To Galek’s credit, he was an experienced host. The prince had a lifetime of hosting parties of this caliber under his belt, looking entirely within his element despite being swamped by the new arrivals. Still, he took to triaging his introductions and responses, methodically addressing each person in turn.

First the secretaries. “Secretary York, welcome to Indupar and thank you for your kind words.” He nodded to Soygun first, then looked to Julia – addressing her just before she made a beeline for the balcony. “Secretary Hipori. It is a delight to finally meet you both.” The prince paused for a moment, giving them both a hint of a grin. “Especially since I have seen so much of the both of you recently. I fear the tabloids as of late have made you two of the most recognizable people in the galaxy.” He would have to find time to speak with Julia once she returned from her own business.

Then, his attention flicked from the ISC delegation to the two new Senator’s who had approached. “Senators,” He smiled, raising a glass as he addressed them at the same time. “You are both very welcome here. Let this party mark the beginning of closer relations with Balmorra and Fondor both.”

Introductions out of the way, he turned to address Llana, clasping his hands together infront of him. “Politics move at glacial speed here on Indupar I’m afraid, and being able to secure additional relief funding has been a terribly tedious process. While some might see these events as an extravagance, it is one of the ways I hope to contribute to ending this crisis.” He nodded confidently. “As Governor, I pledge to do all I can to combat this terrible disease. In that you have my word.”

Finally, Galek returned to attention to Emryc, nodding silently as the President boasted of the accomplishments of the ISC. He could hardly argue with what was being said – the faction had certainly been making waves in recent weeks. It was enough for the prince to probe a bit further. “So I have heard. Tell me President Thorne, what would you say is the biggest legislative priority for the ISC at the present moment? Obviously the AMS virus is on the mind of everyone,” He gestured to Ilana. “But so too is the war – and your policy of militarization has been the subject of much discussion.”

She was poised to move from the crush gathering around their gracious host and the President; but at the Prince's words, she offered a cool smile, inclining her head. It seemed now that things were becoming more dire, purse strings were beginning to loosen more and more. Such thoughts pleased her; she would put such funds to best use with her plans of what was to come.

"I'll take your word, your Grace," she murmured, lifting her glass in a slight toast once again. "and I'll give one of my own; an end to this tragedy is coming."

But a beautiful face came before her, and the name rose to her lips as soon as those light blue eyes met her own.
"Senator Korre," she replied, a nod to the slip of the tongue earlier. Sensitive ears picked up the proper title; the woman now had her full focus. She took another sip of champagne as the woman spoke of funding, and the Arkanian Offshoot lowered her glass, staring for a moment.

"I have no doubt," she replied quietly with a rare, gold-glittered grin. "Actually, I'm happy to have met you; I have intended to visit Belasco; your planet is a genuinely intriguing one. Might I pick your brain? It's not every day one meets a woman with as many well-earned credentials and the skill to use them." She inclined her head, indicating that they could discuss things separately from the crowd if the woman so desired.
