Informal Rank Structure

Military forces are organized into an informal rank structure that serve as a guide to succession rather than a strict system of hierarchy. Outside of combat, they are nothing more than titles and every leader recognizes them as such. Authority is never flaunted. A warrior earns his place and the respect of his fellows through acts of skill, courage, and selfless service.
