DESCRIPTION
The Interceptor-class bulk cruiser is a class of semi-standardized improvised capital ship based on the Corellian Engineering Corporation's Action VI transport. Typically built and operated by pirate gangs and other criminal organizations, it is in essence an up-armoring of the Action VI's hull, coupled with the addition of improved shields, engines, and the installation of weapon systems.

The Interceptor, in its typical form, is the same length as the Action VI at 110 meters. After the installation of new systems and armor, cargo capacity is typically about 20,000 tons, with consumables for 2 months. Crew consists of 16 personnel, plus 48 passengers. Weapons - totally absent on the Action VI - consist of 3 fixed heavy turbolaser cannons in the bow, plus 4 proton torpedo launchers, a single concussion missile launcher, twin quad medium laser turrets for point defense, and a tractor beam.

In general, conversion of Action VIs - typically examples captured in pirate raids - is done at underground shipyards by outlaw tech work crews. The process is straightforward, but Interceptors are poorly optimized as warships and are not really a match for a properly designed dedicated capital ship. Despite this, they are widely used due to the plentiful nature of the Action VI, not just by pirates and criminals, but also occasionally by cash-strapped local defense forces and mercenaries.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Interceptor-class bulk cruisers are classified as capital ships under Galactic law, and possess heavy weapons. As such, civilian owners will require extra licensing to operate one legally, and will receive increased scrutiny by authorities.

INTENT
To bring a vessel from canon to our site's fanon.

RESTRICTIONS
Interceptor-class bulk cruisers are large capital ships with heavy weapons, and capital ships cannot be owned or operated by individual characters. A faction would be required to obtain and crew a ship of this size, or a group of at least 2 players who work together regularly.
