Order of Matukai The Order of Matukai was an ancient organization of Force adepts and exceptional martial artists that used the physical body to channel the Force. The philosophy of the Matukai centered around generating balance and harmony between the spirituality of the Force and the physical component of the body, using rigorous physical exertion as a form of meditation. Their training involved meditative martial arts, physical training, and somatic rituals, and they were noted for being able to develop strong Force-sensitivity in many beings who were not adequately gifted with the Force. Using their bodies as a focus, they emphasized keeping oneself clean and strong, purifying oneself through physical activity. The iconic weapon of the Matukai was the wan-shen, a single-bladed polearm augmented through the Force. Trained users could whirl it around their bodies in combat, using themselves as a central axis of rotation. Due to their own physical control, the Matukai were capable of wielding the blade with a speed that sometimes astonished onlookers, which was described as a virtual whirlwind of metal and blades. For most of the galactic war brought about by the New Sith Imperium, the Matukai have kept out of the conflict. However, since the fall of Coruscant, the Matukai have sided with the Rebellion, lending their aid to the war effort against the Sith.​

The actual page is just about done, but this is just to give a taste of the Matukai. In short, they're basically freedom fighters, mainly in opposition to the Sith. Reason being... well, it's pretty simple; the Sith are bloody insane are pretty much destroying the galaxy, planets, people and all. However, they aren't a formal military, they instead operate mostly independently. For instance, one Matukai might choose to aid the Jedi, while another might choose to help the Rebellion on the battlefields. Still others might choose to align with the Mandalorians, if they'd take them.

Adaptability is a core principle for the Matukai, and in that context, any Matukai would simply choose to place themselves where they interpret they personally can do the most good in freeing the galaxy from Sith oppression. That might even lead a Matukai to operate solo, not teaming with any specific group. While they might choose to travel in small groups of two or three, they do not unitedly operate on an organizational level. The Matukai are also not mercenaries and they do not sell their services - they're fighting to stop the Sith from effectively slaughtering or dominating everyone in the galaxy. In Legends lore, the Matukai were known for people seeing them pop up everywhere, and I'm hoping that will happen again, here.
