I was disappointed when I saw that Avengers 2 would see Tony hopping back into the suit. I thought the strongest thing about Iron Man 3 (a movie I did not like) was the ending where Tony was going to take a back seat and get out of the suits.

So yeah, Iron Man 4 being announced is a given to me but I can't find myself getting excited at all for it. Maybe after Avengers 2 and a few trailers that opinion may change? But as of now I am underwhelmed.

That's not really confirmation. They're just talking about it. RDJ wouldn't go out on a limb and announce something like that.

Black Widow, Black Panther, etc, etc. would all be better movies than another fricking Iron Man movie. Ew.

Yes, we need a black panther movie for Christ's sake.

I'd pull for mah girl Carol Danvers, but yeah I'd like to see T'Challa get a film.

... why? I would have no desire to see that. Like at all.

Gimme a Doctor Strange movie before that crap.

Black Widow, Doctor Strange, Miss Marvel, maybe throw She-Hulk into a film somewhere, they can do a lot better than Iron Man 4. Black Panther + Storm would actually be a really interesting movie, but knowing Marvel they'd shoehorn Wolverine in there somehow and make it shitty.

Batman but runs an entire technologically advanced nation and gains Captain America level powers through the use of tribal magics.

Cast it as T'challa gaining his throne (bit too much Thor-y) or just plain keeping his kingdom safe from some sort of Marvel Universe threat.

Interesting to a lot of people not to mention upping the population of nonwhite males.

You wouldn't have to worry about that since Marvel doesn't have the movie rights to Storm or Wolverine.

Well, a Black Panther movie without Storm would be lame as hell. The two of them running around being awesome would be a great film.

Still a little buttmad about DoFP, honestly.

I have not seen DoFP, but in regards to being without Storm he's sort of without Storm a lot. Their marriage being a completely out of comic machination for publicity and to create tension in the Civil War storyline and has since been annulled post AvX.

T'Challa doesn't need Storm to be an interesting character. Looking over his origin he went to school and spent a decent amount of time in American and Western Europe studying before being called back to Wakanda to take the throne much to the chagrin of his brother who had spent his entire time there.

A refusal of the call of T'challa perhaps not wanting to return or take on the responsibility and having to reaquaint himself to Wakandan custom and life while there is a bid for the throne by his brother who probably has a decent cult of personality built up and has been actively working in the government.

Sounds a whole lot more compelling to me than just pairing him with someone else and having them chase plot.

Agree with Johnnysaurus. It's such a shame the brother part of the suggested plot was already used in the Thor movies, despite Loki never having been related to Thor in the actual legitimate mythology. Oh well. Marvel loves reusing the same plot devices and tropes (Jean Grey death/resurrection). I'm sure that plot would still work for a Black Panther movie, and really well. And, again, up the nonwhite males in Marvel movies number.

Fox would make it shitty. Marvel has yet to make an X-Men film.

I both liked and disliked that. Iron Man 3 sometimes felt like a Tony Stark movie, which is not a bad thing since I find him the most interesting out of all the Avengers.

But I think it was a given that Tony is back in Avengers 2. He's probably one of the most popular characters in the Marvel Cinematic films.

Oh to me Tony would have never been gone. He would have been in an adviser role or kidnapped by Ultron while Rhodey would have been given the armored fighting role.

I feel like I'm in the minority here, but I really liked Iron Man 3. It was world's better than the second film, and is neck-and-neck for me with the first. That being said, I don't really care for a fourth movie. I'm down for him to be in Avengers, but do we need another standalone film for Tony? Nope.

I agree that Iron Man 3 was much better then Iron Man 2.

I'd honestly rather have a team up movie of Iron Man and Hulk though.
