Following the sudden collapse of authority across the galaxy, where major political powerhouses saw many formally core territories splitting from their larger entities and going their own way. In the former Free Worlds Alliance, collective security had been an ongoing topic for some time with deadlocks from opposing members blocking significant overhauls from taking place.
All of that is now set to change as the various governments scramble to find new allies, re-affirm ties, and in some cases forge new ones. In particular, the local representatives in the Trilon sector, which encompasses several former alliance planets such as Rattatak, Gannaria, Zaddja and Codia, are set to meet in the coming weeks.
This also comes fresh after news that the Consul Winterblaze of Gannaria has announced new elections shall be held for the Consulship once the necessary constitutional adjustments have been made following the dissolution of the alliance.
Widely seen in the sector as a test of Miss Winterblaze's leadership, and whether she can bring in enough support to retain a mandate to govern, or if she too will become another casualty of recent political upheaval.
