Since the blocks made by the Sith of the Hydian Way, the Corporations boycotting Imperials have been feeling a financial strain with their stocks in freefall. Unsurprisingly, the ISC President came under fire and was questioned about his plans to counter this distressing impact on companies. The answer was shocking enough to begin turning the tides for the Corporate Sector.

Hypergates.

The President has begun the construction of a new hypergate. The construction is concealed, heavily guarded within neutral territory and any strikes would be an act of war against the entire sector. Clearly enough proof was given to the merit of his access to hypergates as the CEOs and investors of the boycotting corporations are sold on it. Stocks have begun to level off as it has become clear that the Hydian Way and other hyperspace lanes may not be necessary at all for corporations blocking Imperial trade. In fact, the prospect of the convenience of travel is so lucrative that additional corporations that had not previously boycotted the Sith are considering doing so.

Access to hypergates can fundamentally shift things even more in favor of the ISC with their ability to potentially mobilize fleets unlike any other nation.

When the President was questioned on if he had anything to say to the Sith, he simply said, “Send the ISB my warmest regards.”

Newton was really genuinely shocked when he saw this news. When he heard of the Hypergates in the announcement, he was instantly reminded of an old friend, Lyra Durand (@GABA). Newton is still unaware of her identity as Tiamat. Newton instantly remembered their adventure to into the Unknown Regions where they discovered the gate there in the ancient Gree ruins. He would then lean back in his seat, smiling. So Asteria Industries is getting in on this as well, he thought. Only Lyra and her company Asteria Industries has the know-how could use a hypergate, much less construct one.

This announcement is great boon for the Corporate Sector, and the ISC as well. Newton knows that the Hypergates are really technology and if used wisely the ISC can run leaps and bounds around the SIth. Newton would clap his hands, smiling at what great news this has been.

Now that he is thinking about it, he needs to get in contact with Lyra again. It really has been a long time.

Altair felt numb. Of all the news that came in about the ISC blocking things off or taking measures against the Sith, this one felt personal. He sat in complete silence as he watched the reports, knowing exactly who was behind this. Why would she choose to go ISC? Why did she leave the Sith in their hour of greatest need? He thought back to all their interactions, all those times she had attempted to reach out to him. All those times she had confessed her feelings for him. Was this all a slight? No, he wouldn’t entertain that line of thought. Tiamat was a grown woman, and she made her choices. In another life, perhaps this would have shattered him, but Altair Din had grown up a lot since his early days as an acolyte.

The tiefling exhaled slowly, picking up his comlink to contact Val Varthra, “The mole,” He said quietly, “It’s Tiamat. She was the only one working on hypergate technology for the Sith and she has taken it to the ISC now.”

INTERNAL ISB MEMO: This content has been selected for censure by the Imperial Security Bureau. As such, it will not appear on HoloNet or HoloNet-connected devices in Sith Empire space. Please see the recent memo by Lieutenant Val Varthra for further recommendations.
Note: Seen by Imperial characters with clearance only. To the rest of Sith space, this new simply won't appear on their devices.

Val Vartha was a lieutenant in the ISB. She was used to a massive influx of news on her desk every morning. What she wasn't used to was a massive influx of massive news every morning, each worse than the last. What had the Empire been doing all these years? How had they been so complacent as to allow a potential enemy to have made such major plays without checking him in any meaningful way? She, of course, knew answer at once.

The Sith.

Their arcane magic made them arrogant. They thought the ISC revered them out of fear that war would come to their doorstep, when reality, the ISC was preparing to pull the rug out from underneath them. Watching as the New Republic and the Alliance floundered and determined not to share their fate. They were so certain that magic of theirs would allow them to roll over their enemies. They were wrong.

She glanced at her phone blinking on her desk, shut her eyes, inhaled, and picked it up. A moment later, she had the news. "Understood, sir," she said, trying to remain calm. Emotion and hysterics would help no one in this situation. By the time she knew what she was doing, she was already out of her desk and grabbing her coat. "Where are you now? I'm coming to you. We need to chat."
