.:.It had been too long since he had last trained a Bendu Apprentice. He took deep breaths as he waited for the apprentice. Lance rapped himself up in his black cloak and looked out of the window towards the ocean. It was a rainy, windy day, but the strong winds brought in a fervent breeze from the Ashlan shore. He brought himself away from the window, fixing his robing. It was a traditional robing with black inner robes, white outer robes, accompanied by a black cloak. He wore his informal attire; he didn't desire to scare off a new apprentice. Lance set himself down in the center of the room, his face looking towards the door. Finally the fireplace added a deep warmth to the room; it was slightly chilly a bit earlier.

Lance laid his sword on his lap, the ancient blade dubbed Savior's Aura awaited patiently in its sheathe. He would train this new recruit to the fullest extent. Isiah Arkied was the name of the apprentice; Lance was excited to meet the new Bendu. It was a blessing to be able to learn in such a wonderful and ancient temple. The priest smiled. He drew upon the force, letting his amazing ability draw upon the force; it soothed his Ashlan soul. He went into meditation, relaxing, his hands resting upon the Bendu sword. He awaited this new apprentice; patience was a virtue.:.

Isiah opened the door to the room quietly. In his past experiences with priests he had found that if they were thinking about something in particular then they would not want to be disturbed and could even act rather rudely if interrupted. The Apprentice to extra caution as this was his first time meeting his new master and din't want the guy to get a bad first impression of him. After slowly closing the door he turned to face the man and waited acknowledgment.

"Welcome, Isiah."

.:.Lance spoke in a clam, warm voice. He got up to his feet, fastening the sword belt around his waist. The Bendu Priest bowed deeply, showing a sign of respect towards the apprentice. He smiled; he enjoyed seeing a new apprentice. He recalled his first days as an apprentice - it was such a joy learning the ways of the Bendu and the usage of the force... learning about the Bendu as a whole was what interested him most. He took a deep breath, and ran a hand through his white hair.:.

"I am Lance Al'Galzrek, Bendu Priest - Grandson of Lance Al'Kan, Son of Han Viceron. I am a Bendu Priest at heart but take great heart in being a warrior of the Ashla and ambassadorial duties. Please, tell me something about yourself."

Isiah took a respectful bow and was a bit blindsided by the Priest's question.

"Well... I fancy myself a swordsman in training. That's about it other than the fact that I have orange hair which is pretty obvious."

.:.Lance smiled and nodded - he would make Isiah a great swordsman, and beyond that a great Bendu Knight. Lance Al'Galzrek figured that they would get starting right away with training - the studying of the Bendu Code. The Ashlan warriors lived by the meaning behind the code. It was not only a guide, but a WAY of life. The priest gazed around the ancient room and spoke in a relaxed voice.:.

"Do you know anything of the Bendu Code?"

"Well... bits and pieces. I'm relatively knew and I have heard some of the priests speak lines but for some reason I can't recall them when I need to."

Out of all the things Isiah had studied he hadn't focused on the code that much. He thought it would be a breeze to remember some lines but for some reason now he could barely remember what he had for breakfast.

"In due time, my friend. The Bendu Code is:

Through the Ashla, we find emotion;
Through the Ashla, we find peace;
Through the Ashla, we find knowledge;
Through the Ashla, we find passion;
Through the Ashla, we find courage;
Through the Ashla, we find eternal life;
Through the Ashla, we find love.
Love is the answer to the darkness.
Love can ignite the stars."

.:.Lance folded his broad arms upon his chest and took a deep breath. The Priest smiled.:.

"The Bendu Code is something we Bendu live by. It is not the words that are so important, but the symbolism of which they represent. You have great potential, Isiah. Living by the code is one of the most important things about being a Bendu. Please, tell me the meaning behind the code, if you will."

"That all things exist through Ashla? I'm sorry, Master. I must look very pathetic right now. That is what I believe the code is telling me without the teachers telling me what it is supposed to mean."

Isiah always thought it would be better for the student to grasp the knowledge in a format that made sense. But if the students view is wrong and noone corrects him then that could completely harm who he becomes. Well, that would be up to the Priest.

"From a specific point of view, yes. And do not be sorry my apprentice - it is important to see how one views the code from their own mind."

.:.The priest went over towards the large window and looked out of the large window. The wind was letting up, and the clouds were clearing. A sharp breeze from the Ashlan Sea whistled itself past the window, bringing a slight coolness against the ancient stone of the temple. Lance's dark eyes looked out across the plains to the mountains - he knew the sea was somewhere in between the latter. He couldn't help but smile at the beautiful. He thanked Yahweh for being blessed enough to spend his life on Kal'Shabbol. Lance spoke, still looking out of the window.:.

"The code means that we can always come to the Ashla for guidance - no matter the situation. In victory or despair, no matter what, the light of Yahweh and the Skywalker will always shine and be there for guidance. In a sense, the code says that through the Ashla we can find our sole guidance. Although the code is not a required following for life like the Jedi Code, it provides guidance when needed."

Isiah intently memorized every word, intent not to fail his new master again.

"Alright, got it. So... what did you have planned after the code?"
