Lillianne was prepared for the attack, having to drop into a defensive stance much sooner than his previous attacks. He was learning quickly, yet his methods brought a frown to her face. As the two blades met and he began to push her backwards, dust filling the air as she dug her heels in, stopping his momentum.

"If killing is your intention, then such a move is warranted, yet killing is not always the answer. True, when you draw your blade, you must be willing and ready to take a life. However, such an act is not always needed. It is best to wound or wear down your opponent, allow yourself plenty of time to reach them. Use the time while fighting to talk them down from their ways and lead them toward repentance."

She pushed him away with her blade and turned her back on him. It was apparent his former tutor had taught him battle and nothing more. It explained some of his beliefs and actions she had witnessed within the halls.

"'Redemption comes from the release of self, not the exaltation of self. It comes through compassion, not greed. One lone candle, representative of love, is enough to fight the darkness. Love is the answer to the darkness. Love can ignite the stars'," she quoted from the Proverbs of Ussej Padric Bac.

Isiah stepped a few paces back from the block and came to a halt a few meters away from Lilliane. He straightened himself up and heaved the cleaver over his shoulders and rested it there.

"Alright, that's a good lesson but you told me to come at you with whatever I had. I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound rude but that seems like a counter-objective to what you had originally told me to do."

"Oh," she answered in a bit of a perplexed tone, replaying their conversation before they began their spar. Finally, she smiled and let out a little chuckle. "I suppose I did. Forgive me, Isiah," she said bowing her head to him once in submission and then raising it again to find his. There was the familiar twinkle in her eyes once again that he oft recognized. He could tell she hated fighting.

"There's just so much to teach you in such a little time," she explained. "I want you to be ready. So, let's try this again and I promise not to lecture you on how to approach a battle. We shall discuss that afterwards. Is that agreeable?" she asked, pulling her blade up again in a defensive position.

"Well, if you wanted me to try talking down my opponents you could always give me a scenario or something to try and talk you down with. Though I guess that wouldn't be too realistic."

Isiah lowered his blade and brought his left hand to the hilt. Focusing once more on the feel of the force he rushed forward holding the sword slightly behind him with the blade facing down. He stutter stepped and jumped to his right as he got closer to her. Hopefully this would throw her off slightly. Brining his sword up he tried a large sweeping cut. He intended to make the arc of the blade wide and let go of the hilt with his right hand so it could proceed unhindered to the left.

His fake would have worked well with someone not trained in the ways of the Force of Others. Lillianne, however, sensed his movements and acted accordingly. Yet, the driving force of his blow had her on the defensive, using all of her strength to keep him at bay. It seemed he could prove himself in battle afterall, yet could he do so while distracted? Calling upon the Force of Others, Lillianne directed the ribbons encircling her wrist and arm toward his swordhand, attempting to trap him against her, preventing him from getting his sword away for another swing. Lillianne was curious to see how he might react when the unexpected occurred.

To say that he was shocked by the move was a bit of an understatement. Never would he have suspected such a move ina combat situation from such an unlikely source. A ribbon!? Lilly was obviously had much to teach Isiah. He honestly smiled though as he realised just how clever his friend was. But if he spent any more time admiring his friend than he had his enemy he would have been dead.

The smile now wiped clean from his face he looked to his left hand. Letting the Force of Others flow through him, he calmed down. Time seemed to slow down a little as the warm sensation flowed thorugh him. Isiah was not left-handed. Tipping the large blade so the dull end was towards him, Isiah placed his palm against it and came forward using that force. He might not have been able to swing but he could still drive the blade. He quickly applied pressure onto the blunt end and brought it down upon Lilliane.

OOC: The close proximity would force him to drive the blade down at an angle and not forward. Otherwise, you're gonna be stabbing at just air. Also, dear, your previous post says you were using your right hand. You're confusing me.

OOC: Well I can easily fix the blade being pushed. I wasn't paying any attention to how low you were. The above quote is what I posted. Sorry, for writing it in a bad way but I meant to say that the arc of the blade would be larger so I let go of the hilt keeping the left hand firmly on the sword.

As he drove the blade downward, Lillianne was forced to direct the Force of Others to strengthen her arms as she braced her blade against his, edge sliding across edge. The raking sound of the blades rang through the air as the two struggled, Lillianne doing all she could to force her blade to the side in an attempt to swat his attack away. Knowing his strength was on his side and against her, she did the only other thing she knew to do before his blade sliced into her. Lifting her knee up, she winced as she jerked him forward with the ribbons, hoping to pull him on top of her and drive her knee where it mattered most (you know where).

OOC: I'm going to go with it, lol. Makes me wince though.

He saw that he was making serious headway with this attack. Isiah even became worried that he was putting to much force behind his attack. His blade began to slowly tread to a much more dangerous position and he immediatly tried to call off. He didn't care about what Lilliane would say, he didn't trust himself in this situation.

"Alright let's st-"

He felt a jerking in his sword arm as he was pulled on top of her. Compeltely dazed to why and trying to remove himself from this position he suddenly fealt all was not right. Especially in a certain part of his body. Shock nubbed the pain but once it came roaring through he quickly shot from the top of Lilliane and was on his knees panting. He had dropped his sword and his eyes were becoming teary. Instictively his hand shot to his groin for the same odd futile reason all males did so.

"What the hell, Lilliane!"

Lillianne tried not to giggle, yet it was a very difficult task. Doing her best to not let her satisfied smile show too much, she got to her own feet. The ribbons that had trapped him now hung lifeless from her sword hilt.

"I warned you to come at me with all you had. In a battle situation, your opponent will use any weakness against you. Open your mind and let the Force of Others guide you in your attacks. It will reveal to you your opponent's next strike many times," she answered him.

After a few moments, she pulled her sword back into its scabbord, seemingly glad to have it out of her hand as she knelt down beside him, trying to look into his eyes.

"Are you alright?" blushing at his pain, not wanting to touch him there through the Force of Others to ease his pain. "Draw your strength from the Force of Others and your...relief," she urged him, not wanting to see him in so much pain.

OOC: Look who decided to show up, lol.

Isiah slowed his breathing and began to reach out to the Force of Others much in the same way as he had during the fight. Soon he felt much better but they still ached. Getting up slowly he stood up slowly and breathed again. She had really gotten him good.

"Dont' do that in training ever again, please. In fact, that's something that should never be done again."

He looked her in the eye and smiled, hopefully that would alleviate any feelings of guilt she had and to show that his previous statement wasn't ridicule but in good humor.

"You could have sterilized me with a knock like that you know?"

OOC: *confused look* Obviously, I'm not following...lol. My brain's kinda fried on this project I'm doing for work. Who's showed up?

She nodded her head at his plea and stood up. Hearing his teasing tone, she smiled slightly, "I didn't know you were such the family type," she teased back, giving him a few more minutes to recover.

"Perhaps we should move onto some more theory instead of combat. Unless you're anxious to go at it again," she offered, letting her voice raise a little to where it seemed to be more of a question than a statement.

OOC: Well you hadn't replied ina while to this thread. But I guess that project of yours is the reason for that.

"That my friend is completely up to you. I'm okay with either one and it just boils down to what you think is currently appropriate for training purposes."

Now doing better Isiah went to retrieve his sword and sheathed it. In other company Isiah would have kept his hand on the hilt but he had learned to refrain from this action to make Lilliane more comfortable as one of the most prominant things in his mind when he thought of his dear friend was her distatse for weapons and combat.

OOC: It was only during the weekend! Sheesh! LOL. I was so sick at looking at text and staring at a computer monitor that I just wanted to get away from it all for a couple of days. :P

Lillianne moved toward the tree, leaning against it as she crossed her arms across her chest. "It is important to remember that while the Bendu seek peace, we do not fight for peace. To fight for something devoid of peace is to pervert the very idea in which you're trying to protect. Instead, we fight for the survival of civilization. You see, a strong civilization centered in preserving peace would instill such ideas into its people. Yet, there will always be those seeking to thwert their peaceful endeavors. Therefore, we fight to preserve and enforce justice, for justice to all peoples will birth peace.

"It is written that a Jedi Bendu High Master once taught that an "unjust civilization was built upon sand, meaning that it would not survive any form of assaulting storm for very long." These words could not be more true. As a result of such beliefs, the Bendu adopted six major principles, principles we call our Pillars of Strength:
  • Self-discipline
  • Knowledge
  • Divine Faith
  • Prayer
  • Meditation
  • Attunement to the Force of Others"
Lillianne paused, looking her apprentice in the eye as she continued. "It is our belief that these principles will lead you in solving any problem or overcoming any obstacle that is placed before you. Why do you think this is?" she asked.

OOC: Yay for getting corrected again! Or atleast that is what I predict.

"Well, most importantly none of those things are violent in nature or concept. They are methods that also seem to intertwine and make oneanother easier to accomplish when all are practiced together."

OOC: You're such a baby :P *said in teasing tone*

She couldn't help but smile at his simple answer. He was a warrior at heart, yet he needed to understand the importance of the spiritual side as well. "It's true, none of these are violent and they are intertwined. Yet, they also help center you, help you take a step outside and focus upon the whole picture. Yahweh did not create us to be individualists, but to work together, to be a part of one another. We're all linked and our actions affect all around us. This is why these principles are important."

She pushed off the tree and motioned for him to follow her back into the Temple, ready to open his eyes to something new.

OOC: Nuh-uh!

Isiah had nodded at every point she had made and his heart sunk a little when he realized once again that he had gotten it wrong, though she was nice about it. Isiah promptly followed her when instructed but stayed about an inch or two behind her so she could naturally lead the way.

Lillianne lead him down the long hallway, taking several turns through the maze of the Temple. Eventually, she lead him across the courtyard and down a set of stairs that lead to the lower levels of the Temple. The chilled air seemed to sweep greedily into their bodies as she lead him down a dark hallway and into a bare room. It seemed to be some sort of training room, yet it was far from the training rooms of the younger apprentices. The very room seemed to crackle with a sort of power as they both stepped inside. It was only after the massive door closed that Lillianne turned around to face Isiah, a strange smile upon her face...a look of mischief?

"Alright, I'm stumped. What are we doing here and please stop smiling like that. It scares me."
