Jori D. Kados was a force-sensitive male Kiffar born around 116 ABY who served as a Padawan learner in Rey Skywalker's New Jedi Order during the time of the Force Eternal era. Kados was born sometime prior to the Raydonian moon riots on Petram Prime, an arid and lawless desert world with little governance or mercy that rested in the very outer echelons of the Outer Rim in relative obscurity. Like many on Petram, Kados was born an orphan, and was abandoned on the steps of a seedy dive bar before the bar's owner; Yarrlok, a once enslaved Wookiee warrior living in hiding, felt pity for the poor infant and subsequently took Kados in under his wing. He would spend the majority of his childhood and teenage years working as a busboy in the wookiee's less than reputable tavern: the Tipsy Bantha, before eventually taking on a risky side-job as a liquid spice runner. Kados's innate ability to move things with his mind and look deep into the past gave him an edge over even some of the most experienced smugglers on Petram, which entailed many a profit for the young Kiffar and his Wookiee caretaker.

However, things all came to a head when he was eventually approached by a mysterious hooded figure clad in all white, calling themselves a "jedi." The stranger then revealed themselves to be none other than Tedimor Har, a Jedi master renowned for their skills in diplomacy and conflict resolution. The Duros pleaded with Yarrlok to let the Jedi take in the now fourteen year old Kados, pressing upon the rarity of the boy's gifts and future potential, to which the bar owner eventually conceded.

Kados would spend the next five years making up for lost time, training with a myriad of helpful knights and masters who were more than willing to lend their knowledge and wisdom to a newcomer such as himself. Along his travels he would construct a sapphire-blue bladed lightsaber with a chromium hilt and eventually come into the possession of a reprogrammed Imperial KX droid; K3-3D, affectionately known as "3-D," alongside the broken-down R5-D4, a cheeky astromech droid once owned by the legendary Jedi Master Luke Skywalker himself for a short time during his childhood on Tatootine. Now, at nineteen years of age, Jori is among the eldest of the Padawans currently serving in the order, and he hopes that one daysoon, with the guidance of a proper master, he will be able to achieve the rank of Jedi Knight.

Jori Kados was known for his quick-wit and dry sense of humor, he had a knack for not taking situations seriously enough, which remained a consistent theme and lesson throughout his studies as a Padawan learner. He was known for being quite immature for his age, though many overlooked this as merely just a symptom of his late indoctrination into the Order.

Despite his childish, and at times, reckless behavior, Kados was also known for having a frequent streak of kindness. He made countless missions to aid colonies on the brink of destruction and farm planets plagued by pirates and was frequently commended by his elders for his benevolent disposition towards those less fortunate than himself, though Kados consistently claimed that this was because he felt an innate connection to the galaxy's impoverished and disenfranchised.

Kados was not remembered as a skilled tactician or leader, but rather for opting to follow the path of his ex-guardian and good friend: Tedimor Har, as a negotiator and peacemaker. The Kiffar was not well versed in combat, and although he could wield a lightsaber, he was very wary of his ineptitude at dueling and tried to avoid it almost whenever possible. Hee did feel comfortable shooting blasters, however, citing his many years as a street-rat and spice runner as the cause for this anomaly.

Despite not being too inclined in combat or war tactics, Kados happened to be an impeccable flier, and his skill behind the command deck of a starship made him one of the top pilots in the New Order throughout his lifetime. His frequent journeys back to Petram Prime to visit Yarrlok made him feel not just comfortable, but more than well-versed with the basic operations of ships before the whole thing eventually became a passion of his.

Kados most enjoyed spending time with his droid companions as well, and the two became frequent companions on his journeys throughout various war-torn moons and planets across the galaxy. He would often spend long hours asking both droids concepts about philosophy and morality, in turn molding the personalities of the two droids so much so that at times they could sound even vaguely human (once properly translated in R5's case).

Though he had many teachers come and go throughout his life, Jori remained confident and hopeful that the Force would one day send him a master to help him with the integral steps necessary to becoming a fully-fledged Knight of the New Order. He credited Oota Boan and Calypso Marana as the most insightful of his teachers and would go on to incorporate many of their lessons into his lightsaber combat style and urban-war tactics.

For many years, Kados remained oblivious to his latent ability of Psychometry, or "Sense Echo," which granted the young Kiffar the ability to see into the past, believing that they were simply visions granted to all Jedi by the Force. It would not be until the arrival of his final Jedi Master that Kados would unlock the ability to control and make use of this strange, mystic power.
