BIOGRAPHY
The day which marked the birth of Jubilant Carras was, by many metrics, through many surveys, rated as the best day in the planet's recent memory. Born to the wealthy banking family of Carras, Jubilant is the third, youngest son of the family. He would be the baby, but for the miracle of his younger sister, Marigold. An offshoot of the Arkanian species, his lineage has seen minor splicing with reptile DNA, the purpose of this modification either satisfied or forgotten, since other than the lasting effects it has wrought upon his appearance, physiology, and temperament, as well as that of his family's, Jubilant has had few instances to be concerned with it. As a young child, his position in the family allotted to him his mother's obsession, his father's pride, and his family's comfort. Living affably, Jubi wanted for nothing.

It did not take a genius to perceive his connection to the Force. Manifesting properly in his third year, the elder Carras' were delighted, yet mortified to discover their son's affinity for and skill in reading the emotions of those around him, comforting the same, and occasionally acquiring objects of interest (and a great many sweets) without having touched them. Such a happy and excitable child as he was, it was not difficult to get him into the mood to utilize his abilities. And as stories began to circulate about this peculiar child, he was invariably noticed by certain individuals. His father, an idealist of some moral character, managed to use his resources and small political power to get into contact with a Jedi. Not wishing to see his son become a tyrant or a tool, he entrusted Jubi to this Knight.

Jubilant left his family at only four years of age. He no longer remembers their faces, less so their names. His Knight companion retained him for a short time, teaching a little on balancing the self, resting within the Force to reconcile his considerable fear with his current situation. For seven months, he lived a life on the move as his Knight would take on assignments as he searched for a suitable Master. All Jubilant remembers of this Knight is a vague sentiment of peace and stability of mind, a sense that this presence was one assured of itself. He's sought to emulate this mythic figure he's constructed in his mind from those memories by finding his own center. His initial Master was given Jubi out of a sense of urgency. Available, but not preferable, Master Brae'Dac was an unorthodox Jedi. After attaining the rank of Master, he quickly became frustrated with the stagnant lifestyle of the Order, and so utilized his rank to attempt a reformation of what it would mean to be a Jedi.

For the next twelve years of his life, Jubilant was raised by this Master. After three years, he was approached with an available apprenticeship to another, more suitable member of the Order, under whose tutelage he would be sure to rise high within the ranks of the Jedi. But by this time, young Carras was firmly affixed to Master Brae'Dac. The two were seldom separated, and when they were, it was noted that Jubilant had a little difficulty working with other Padawans and Masters. This difficulty did not rise from any tension or issue with authority, or any social awkwardness. Almost the opposite, actually. Jubilant found issue in working with other Jedi because he would frequently engage in long discussions on the conduct and philosophy of the Order. His questions and ideas landed him in conflict with most Masters and their Padawans, who were left perturbed, yet intrigued when he would inevitably rejoin with his Master. Brae'Dac, approached with concerns over his Padawan's conduct, would laugh and say of the boy, 'He does have quite the mind for disturbing his betters.'

Of course, this is a biography section, and he is labelled 'Independent,' so something goes wrong. That would be the simple fact of his Master's age. Brae'Dac, having lived for 96 long years, succumbed to old age with peace and dignity, passing onto his apprentice a will to change. Change the Order, change those around him, to push for forward momentum rather than to pull out of the world and its cares. Many tears were shed, two goodbyes were said, and Master Brae'Dac left young Carras alone. Jubilant was assigned haphazardly, attached to a Master who, despite three years of companionship, he cannot remember. This Master was such the generic, fill in the box Jedi figure, that he was the final premise, the one which convinced Jubi. He tried for three years to abide the suffocating repression, the denial of life, and the pushing away of all the attachments of life. But it simply choked out what joy he had fostered in his time with Brae'Dac.

At nineteen years old, Padawan Jubilant Carras left the Jedi Order, hopping on a freighter and leaving his woes behind as he ventured into the stars. Meeting up with "Darth" Epirus, a self-proclaimed Sith, and his son, ________. Joining up with them, he has worked on developing his own philosophy of the Force, one which he has begun to practice, and hopes to spread to his companions, and in time to a great many more.
