BIOGRAPHY
Deke has two personalities. As a kid, his father, Bren, realised this and took advantage of it. Bren's parents were hunting down remnants of the Sith, but a Sith captured their allies and she used the force to read their mind and find Bren's parents. The woman hunted down Bren's parents and killed them in front of Bren. She left him alive, but taunted him by telling him how she read their allies' mind to find them. Ever since then, Bren has had a strong hatred of the Sith and would do anything to destroy them.

So Bren came up with a plan. Deke had 2 personalities, so he treated one personality extremely well, and the other he acted abusive towards. The plan was for him to push one side to the dark side. As Deke had 2 personalities, Bren's hope was that the Sith would only be able to read the dominant personality's mind. Essentially, he wanted to send a spy into the Sith. If the "bad" Deke got close to the Sith, eventually the "good" Karn would take over and destroy the Sith from the inside once he got powerful enough.

Deke's mum did not approve, and tried to stop Bren, but Bren had none of it, and still abused the personality of Deke he wanted to turn Sith. She eventually left after she realised she couldn't do anything to help her son. When Deke turned 18, Bren told the "good" Deke his plan. Deke asked if that's why his mum left. Deke had just found out that his other half was abused and his father had caused his mum to leave. Deke ran away. His hatred for his father caused the "good" Deke to t to join the Sith. Whenever he was the dominant personality, his other half still acted as a voice in his head. After leaving home, the "good" Deke changed his name to Karn to separate himself from his father. He also formed a sort of kinship with his other half (still named Deke), as they both hated Bren, and they both seemed to have the same goals. Surprisingly, Deke ended up being the kinder half. Being abused had caused him to feel more empathy for others, while Karn was so enraged by his father, he wanted to absolutely destroy his father's hope by becoming the most ruthless Sith ever.

Deke, however, did not really want to join the Sith. He only pretended to because Karn had a stronger personality, and Deke was worried that Karn would be able to beat him in a mental fight to take control. However, he constantly tries to push Karn to be a better person in the hope that one day Karn would no longer want to join the Sith.

Karn/Deke worked as a crewmember for a smuggler for a while. He got food, payment, and he travelled the galaxy. If he found a Sith, he'd be able to try to join them.

Eventually, he had a job in Scarif, and saw a Sith Warden going after his father. Karn decided to help the Warden. He'd finally get to kill his father. Deke tried to stop him, but Karn was too sure in his mission. He wasn't great at the force, but he could do basic things with the force. He force pushed a rock at Bren. Just enough for him to notice. It made Bren pause as he had finally seen his son again, but Karn pulled out his blaster. That's when the Sith Warden caught up to the two. Karn shot Bren. The Warden noticed Karn's force abilities and his rage at his father. He read his mind and saw how powerful Karn's rage was and asked Karn to join the Sith. Helping the Warden kill a fugitive helped as well.

Up to this point, Karn and Deke pretty much had equal time as the dominant personality. But now that they were in the Sith, Deke realised that anytime he was the dominant personality, the Sith would realise he doesn't want to join the Sith and bad things would happen. So Deke could only ever come out when there were no Sith around.

Karn is now a Sith Legionnaire.

I know that's not how multiple personalities work (I think), but I'm more using the Caitlin/Killer Frost style from Flash, which is less realistic, but I figure in a sci-fi world, it's possible.

Okay, I understand your reasons behind Karn and his two personalities, but some things will need to be corrected in regards to his story.
- There are no Sith, or remnants of the Sith to be hunted. It is believed that they no longer exist and, the Sith Eternal only just emerged from the Unknown Regions. This means that there would be nothing for Bren's parents to hunt and no one to come after them. This will need to be corrected.
- Unfortunately, this also means that the idea his father abused his other personality would have no reasoning behind it because he wouldn't know there was any organization to infiltrate and no deep seeded hatred from the Sith to begin with.
- I also would like to note that 'Mind Shard' or the ability to read minds isn't a casual force ability but rather a very painful tactic used primarily for interrogations. If Karn did happen across a Sith Legionnaire, he would not have casually read his mind to determine how deep his hatred was for his father. It is also a very dangerous technique and requires a lot of control and focus to avoid rendering the target a vegetable. Also, had he actually read Karn's mind, how did he miss the fact that Deke wants to destroy the Sith Eternal?

Please rework this story to fit in with the timeline and tag me once completed.

So there wouldn't be any Sith who would just attack? What about any other organisation that would anger Bren to the point of this?

As for the mind thing, the reasoning is that since Deke and Karn are two separate personalities, and don't really share the same memories and thoughts, someone would only be able to read the mind of the dominant personality. Since it's not really a Star Wars thing in general, I figured that would be how it would work. If you think that it shouldn't be that way, I can change that.

It wouldn't be unrealistic for him to have found some trouble with the Syndicates, but there wouldn't be any Sith who would attack him. They are amassing their numbers and remaining hidden from the public eye so Bren's parents wouldn't have had anything to hunt down in the first place. This isn't to say that your character cannot be part of the Sith Eternal, just that the story doesn't make sense for how he got there.

As far as the split personalities, it's fine that you want to portray them differently, but we should remove the whole mind reading idea unless it is used the way it is meant to be used. You can read more about it here so you can understand where I am coming from when I say that the way it is portrayed in your bio does not work.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Ah, right. I was confused cause the story said the Sith were dead but still talked about Sith Eternal. Although is Force Power Mind Shard always successful? The page mentions mental defenses, and surely subconsciousness would count as one? I can change the story to fit around the lack of Sith though.

Including Bren. Even if it wouldn't stop Jedi mind shard, Bren could think it is. And instead of having his parents killed, his parents could have died in an accident, and Bren got obsessed with stories of the Jedi and the Sith and went insane believing that the dead Sith killed his parents?

I'm not sure that anything is ever successful 100% of the time. In the case of Mind Shard, it would depend on the users concentration and mental capabilities as well as the defenses of his/her target. It is a rather dangerous technique that, if not used the right way, can turn the targets mind to putty. In my opinion, it would be used in only the most extreme of circumstances. There are other ways to sense someones connection to the Force and mental turmoil.

As for the second part, what would lead him to believe it was the Sith that killed his parents, when they've been gone for 100 years? I guess it would depend on your answer as to whether or not it would be realistic for the storyline.

I'm available to answer any questions you might have though!

Presumably there are legends of the Sith, right? It's not a rational assumption, he lost his parents and he goes insane and thinks there's a bigger conspiracy.

Just chiming in (sorry for the delay in getting an answer back), instantly coming to the conclusion that its Sith after being 100 years still seems far farfetched insane or not. Still a bit farfetched given the setting.

If you still want to pursue this character, I'd make edits based on what Mature said above. You can have this be a Sith Eternal member but the 'how to' needs to make more sense. If edits are made we can make progress towards getting the character approved.

As this character has been sitting unedited for a month, I'm archiving it. You may repost it if you end up wanting to pick up the character again.
