He stands at about 2 meters tall as he stretches out his elongated, skeletal limbs against the cliff face. His thrice-jointed, slender appendages skittering over the sandstone with daft, alien grace. Long, thin claws on his three-fingered hands digging deep into the crevices, perfect for hoisting the hunter up to his vantage point. As he climbs, his piercing, pale-blue eyes scan over the rock wall. His twin beak-like nose-flaps lined with short, sharp teeth and decorated with lines of tribal tattoos marking past hunts, clamp from time to time as he picks out next hand holds, plotting his climbing route. An old hunting blaster rifle swings back and forth lightly on his back as he finally pulls himself up over the cliff's edge and surveys the valley before him. He wears old, loose, tattered robes over his golden carapace, the color of which blends naturally with the sands around him. He reaches back over his shoulders and grabs his old rifle, bringing it up as he finds his target over the distance.

May my aim be true. May it bring life to my tribe.

He chitters out in his native tongue as his nose-flaps vibrate and clamp to form the ancient prayer. He positions his gun and leans in as his long finger rests on the trigger, his black quills at the back of his head shuddering lightly in anticipation. He takes aim at the speck in the distance that is his quarry, looking at the bovine beast through his iron sights. His rifle does not have a scope as he doesn't need one. He holds his breath, his senses reaching out across the distance, connecting to his prey, to the soil it walked on, to the wind that blew dry dust between them, even to the heat rising from the baked earth that could distort his sight by bending the light. As his long finger puts pressure on the trigger, he knows that his aim will be true.

He is Ke Pasa, a hunter of the Blood Carver people, and his tribe will eat well tonight.

Ke Pasa excels at the arts of hunting and tracking by trade. Since young age he was taught how to handle and care for his tribe's heirloom hunting rifle, becoming their primary hunter when he reached adulthood. These skills were compounded by his experience with the Farseekers, a group of local tribal Force adepts, who taught him how to utilize his gift to improve his accuracy. Nowadays he is able to use his gifts to such an extend that he does not need an adjustable scope, or sometimes even a clear line of sight, to accurately target his quarry. He's also familiar with survival techniques, although the terrains that he is most comfortable with are deserts and forests. As an extension of his training with the rifle, he is also rather handy with a pistol.

Due to his biology, Ke Pasa is a very nimble and dexterous being, able to move his slender, elongated limbs surprisingly quickly. His natural carapace offers a bit of additional protection against punches, claws, or fangs, although it does little to stand against actual weapons. Same for his claws, in a pinch he could use them to rake and claw at his opponents, but they are poor substitutions for a vibrodagger. His claws do allow him to climb rather easily and quickly, especially tall trees like the ones on his species' native planet, but they come useful in climbing rocky walls as well. By the virtue of his culture's values, Ke Pasa was also trained in using blades to dispatch his quarry, as well as the arts of sculpting, poetry, and stealth. Like most Blood Carvers he was trained to be part assassin, part artist, all bound by honor.

When it comes to his weaknesses, his physiology provides several limits as well. His carapace can crack fairly easily under enough constant pressure, making him not an especially durable being. Although tall, Ke Pasa's slender, thin body is naturally lacking when it comes to brute strength, especially when compared to other species of similar height. As such, he is not stronger than an average human man, unless he would actively use the Force to augment himself, but such abilities would come to him with more difficulty than for other beings. The specialized training with the Farseekers also limited his other capabilities with the Force, to better those aspects would require plenty of effort and tutelage from a learned Force user he may never find.

Ke Pasa also finds it rather difficult to adjust to the greater galactic society. Since Basic is not his first language, there is often a barrier with his accent and speech patterns, as are certain customs of his species. For example, the hostility with which Blood Carvers react to compliments, although he would rarely attempt to execute someone for a compliment, their reverence of art and sculptures that might not be valued as highly for other beings, or dealing with advanced technology by piloting vehicles or attempting to slice computers. As a staunch pragmatist, Ke Pasa is not above committing morally ambiguous deeds, scavenging through refuse or remains of a battle, and sometimes, and this is not something he really tries to hide, eating corpses of other sentient beings who have died in rather unhonorable manner. He also prefers to fight others from distance and through ambushes rather than get up close or in the midst of a battle. When there is too much blaster fire and battle noise around it becomes too overwhelming for him, causing him to freeze or find spots to hide away in in hope of finding a quiet moment to settle his mind. Finding himself in an environment he is not especially familiar with has a similar results, especially urban and frozen areas.

PERSONALITY

Pragmatic, honorable, staunchly loyal to his people. Ke Pasa is a follower of the old ways, a dogma of survival and constricting codes of how to kill, what to say before each significant action, what could be eaten, what counts as an honorable death, what could be used and what, or who, could be eaten, and how the well being of the tribe could be advanced. To Ke Pasa, following these ancient laws is as easy as breathing, their recitation is just an everyday occurrence, and anyone would benefit from doing the same. If these other interstellar beings of the Galaxy refuse to follow them, then it is their undoing, if they are confused or unfamiliar with them, then clearly it is the limitation of their feeble minds, clouded with debauchery and excess of modern glitter-world lifestyle. Ke Pasa puts all he meets to this harsh scrutiny, although in the fashion of his species, he reserves his criticism only for those whose company he enjoys or considers part of his tribe. At heart, Ke Pasa is a social being, preferring to hunt with others and caring deeply for his companions and for his family back on his home planet, it is for them that he decided to leave and take up work as a mercenary in the first place after all. Often, however, he stays quiet, focused, partially as he takes his hunts very seriously, partially because so often he is lost when he comes in contact with the greater galactic culture and modern technology.

BIOGRAPHY

Ke Pasa comes from a backwater desert world in the Outer Rim, on the frontiers of the known Galaxy. His world is unremarkable and low tech, a perfect place for a small tribe of Blood Carvers to thrive in secret, isolated from the rest of the Galaxy. His life was rather peaceful, filled with hunts and quaint rhythm of rural life, only occasionally disrupted through conflicts with local colonists or pirate raids. Although Ke Pasa was born with that extraordinary gift of Force Sensitivity, no Jedi or Sith came to the planet to discover it in him, instead it was the local shamans and spiritual leaders who noticed these abilities and sent him to study with the Farseers, a local group of Force adepts. Although these hermits taught him how to harness his gifts to increase his perception, accuracy, and other physical attributes, it was a lacking education in the ways of the Force when compared to the abilities a Jedi or a Sith would be taught.

So his life continued, eventually marrying a woman with an especially buxom thorax and siring a brood of three children with her. It would have seemed that Ke Pasa would have been able to die of old age without ever having to leave that forsaken planet. However, one day it all changed when he did what would have been unthinkable for a Blood Carver: he accepted a compliment. In a flurry of condemnation and persecution, Ke Pasa was sentenced to the Extension and ostracized from his tribe. In what little time he had left before his exile begun, he said his goodbyes to his family, took his vibrosword, hunting vibroblade, and his family's old heirloom hunting rifle, what little credits they had, and made his way out into the desert, towards the nearest colonial settlement. It took him few days and several unsavory jobs, but eventually he was able to find a ride off world from the modest local spaceport. He knew that it would be a long and arduous process before his sins were forgiven and he could come back home, first he would need to repay his family, then he would need to prove his true worth to the tribe.

So he went offworld, in search of fortune and work as a mercenary.

Initially, all he could find were low wage scavenging jobs, which he did not mind taking as any job was better than none. Through some luck, and few firefights, it did eventually lead him to looting through wreckage of a battle between pirates and Mandalorians. During this job he managed to find an intact Westar-1 pistol, adding the weapon to his collection of armaments as his sidearm.

Not long after that he came in contact with the local Rebel cell. The freedom fighters were low on men and not above dealing with a backwater alien that, although occasionally showed willingness to turn corpses into rations, proved himself to be a very capable scout and marksman. Eventually his cell connected with the Galactic Alliance and Ke Pasa joined along with them, lured in by the promise of more jobs and faster return to his family.

Force Powers

FORCE SIGHT His most trained ability, Ke Pasa is able to use the Force in order to sense distant beings and improve his sight to make himself more focused and accurate when wielding his long-blaster.

TELEKINESIS As most Force users, Ke Pasa is capable of Telekinesis, however he never trained with the ability and is barely aware that he has it, as such it only comes out during duress and requires training to be properly used. His Telekinesis is limited to small, uncontrolled outbursts.

TELEPATHY As most Force users, Ke Pasa is capable of Telepathy, and by extension Mind Tricks, however he never trained with the ability and is barely aware that he has it, as such it only comes out during duress and requires training to be properly used. He is not able to use Mind Tricks at all and his Telepathy is limited to vaguely sensing emotions around him.

BODY ENHANCEMENT As most Force users, Ke Pasa is capable of enhancing his body with the Force. Currently he is only able to use it in order to enhance his accuracy, precision, speed, and dexterity. Although the Force is making his body stronger and tougher, currently it is only to a minuscule degree and he would require more training in order to use this ability to greater significance.

PSYCHOMETRY Ke Pasa possesses the rare ability to read memories from objects. However, he requires training in this ability to use it properly, currently he can only sense general emotions tied to a particular object in the past.

SHATTERPOINT Ke Pasa possesses the rare ability to sense connections of the Force between events of great importance and within objects. However, he requires training in this ability to use it, currently he does not understand it well enough to do anything practical with it.

Sorry to be a party pooper but you can only use species in the Approved Species List unless you got your species approved by a staff member.

@sayso

Hey there, I actually asked about this when I saw that this particular species was not on the Approved Species List. Where the species is listed on this character sheet, under Name and Age, I included a link to that conversation as the RP Administrator told me that they "don't mind they are used." Here is the link again.

So as far as I am aware, the party is yet to be pooped and it's alright, unless that changes in the end.

@sayso,

I get it and I appreciate it! Thanks, I like your character profile too. I've been actually looking at Racaiya's profile while working on this one as a reference for formatting and the skills section.

Links to the legends-only force powers can be removed. We really don't use legends articles for force powers, or legends only force powers. But body enhancement is covered in the Force Rules though

Can you link armor to a write-up in the tech boards? Keep in mind it's functions that being FS would disallow. You can still have the basic protection it offers.

@Faster Than Light,

I removed the Legends link to body enhancement and replaced it with the link to Force Rules. I also linked the two suits of armor to appropriate write-ups in Generic Tech and changed their descriptions slightly to fit with them better. I did had a question about FS and functions an armor provides that would be useful outside of combat, for example can FS use armor sealed and designed to protect them from vacuum or harsh environments that they wouldn't be able to survive for long in without it, like Hoth?

For the vacuum, there is this. A standalone rebreather could probably work as long as it's for being underwater. We are usually pretty strict about functions and FS for the time being.

As for cold enviroments, you can still like wearing appropriate attire. You can still wear a jacket or something to Hoth. Or other cold-suitable clothing (just don't expect it to protect against cyro-based weapons though) And you could dress suitably for a place like Tatoonie as well.

Anyways, edits are good. I'l approve
