Kell Lorso was born on the planet Hollastin in the Hutt ruled domain of Suslii. His parents were established merchants who ran a pristine and well regarded store. However, the cruel nature of credits overwhelmed them. As debts and taxes continued to raise and the Lorso’s struggled to pay their bills, Kell’s father delved into gambling to repay his growing debts. However, this lead to a heavy gambling addiction. In order to preserve his newfound hobby and to keep a roof over his head, Kell’s father sold him into the slave trade. Kell’s new owner, a Trandoshan merchant known as Uurr Stetne took the boy off planet as a personal errand boy. However, once Uurr’s freighter had left orbit of Hollastin, it was bombarded and raided by pirates. No one was left alive but Kell, and only out of pity by the Pirate Captain. Rather than slaughter the child, he dropped him back on the planet of Hollastin, but across the planet on the continent of Bockaas.
Stranded on an unfamiliar continent on a familiar world, Kell had nothing. Over the course of the next few years, he worked in manufacturing and distribution across the continent, along with the occasional under the table smuggle support if the price was right. Working in manufacturing, Kell developed an affinity for droidwork and mechanics, but knowing about the craftsmanship of many different ships, was not so keen on flying…
When he was fifteen, Kell met Jedi Master Pano. He was a wise Zabrak who had been part of the order for most of his life. Pano sensed a yearning from the force within Kell, a call that had not been answered for many years. Recognising this as a sign of Kell’s force sensitivity, Pano took him to the Jedi temple of Ajan Kloss to commence his training as a member of the Jedi Order. Since then, Kell Lorso has been training in the ways of the Jedi. 2 years ago, Kell was promoted to the position of Jedi Knight. He has since been wandering the galaxy as a peacekeeper and representative of the Jedi Order.
PERSONALITY AND SKILLS
In his youth, Kell was brash and impatient. Often prone to outbursts that he would describe as being a consequence of being overwhelmed. Kell would spend much of his time exploring the different wares that his parents would sell in their store, this supported Kell to develop an innate curiosity for the unfamiliar. These outbursts were later attributed to Kell’s connection with the force. Master Pano described them as the force's way of reaching out to Kell in his youth, an attempt at opening the door that was his connection to the force. Since his induction into the Jedi Order, Kell has transformed his feelings of impatience and frustration into methods of contemplation and reflection. He is soft-spoken and will often internalise his thoughts, making peace with them himself before he speaks them to the world. He is known to warm up to those he is familiar with but can be skeptical of those that he is not.
Kell’s time spent working in manufacturing has equipped him with a strong understanding of mechanics and droid operation. Quick reflexes developed as a natural reaction for preserving limbs around heavy machinery. In his spare time, Kell also likes to tinker with splicing but it is a task that he struggles with. Kell focuses a large majority of his spare time and meditation into exploring and interacting with the force. Kell is a practitioner of Form III Lightsaber Combat and truly believes that the lightsabers purpose is to reinforce the Jedi’s position as peacekeepers. Growing up in a Hutt domain, Kell speaks Huttese alongside Galactic Basic. He is also studying Rodian in his spare time.
